Dreaming Zebra far exceeded our expectations with a generous art supply donation.
Our small art program provides big access to art volunteers, creative projects, guest artists, and culturally responsive community building. Art supply donations truly help our artists grow and feel valued by community and help volunteers deliver content. We serve young men ages 16-24 in close custody Oregon Youth Authority facility. Our program, Hope Partnership/Janus Youth Programs, is part of the innovation of OYA that provides community connections and activities, like the arts, for positive human development. Dreaming Zebra is an important part of that connection and we can't thank them enough for their generous, thoughtful donation and participation in this work.

I am an intern at drawchange and it has taken no time to notice the impact that The Dreaming Zebra Foundation has made on our own organization. The art supplies that they have donated to us have reached many children in our programs and have touched the lives of those around them as well. We are so grateful here at drawchange for all they have given us, and they deserve to be given the same!
Hello! My name is Zoey. I've been a volunteer at Dreaming Zebra since I was in 2nd grade, and still am today entering 8th! The people who work for Dreaming Zebra are incredibly hardworking, dedicated, accepting, and willing to go the extra mile for kids and adolescents! These traits show through everything we do! Hard work shows when one of the staff members will travel sometimes an hour to pick up art supplies from someone's home, and help carry them out, because kids need them.
For a lot of kids art makes them happy, and Dreaming Zebra candidly goes and gives help where it is needed.
I've had an amazing time volunteering for Dreaming Zebra.
I encourage anyone who is interested to join us!
Hi there my name is Emmanuel I've been volunteering with the Dreaming Zebra Foundation for a few months now and really enjoy working with different art supplies and making thank you notes to All Those Who donate to the foundation The people I volunteer for our super nice. I love art and I'm super thankful to be able to volunteer for a foundation that helps bring art supplies to two kids who can't afford them.
Dreaming Zebra has been supporting our organization (drawchange) since 2012 and its always been a pleasure. They fully asses our needs every time we call and make sure they are being the best stewards of their donations. The heart of their founder and executive director, Dawne Camera, ensures that the organization not only gives generously, but the organization does an amazing job at assessing the needs of impoverished children world-wide. I'm not sure how she does it! With a heart of gold and a savvy business mindset, she is able to ensure countless children escape deep into their imaginations and journey to a land of color! I strongly vouch for Dreaming Zebra and urge you to give to them generously so they may continue to help the world's children by giving them the gift of art and music!
Dawne from Dreaming Zebra is a gem to deal with. She found my organization (drawchange) on social media and immediately stepped up to help us. She was able to provide all the art supplies we asked for and more! We couldn't ask for a better relationship. She was so attentive to specifically what kind of art supplies we needed as well. She truly will do what it takes to help to the best of her ability and she does it with such love and passion that it definitely shines through. Drawchange was blessed by connecting with Dreaming Zebra in more ways than one :)
The Dreaming Zebra Foundation has been an exceptional nonprofit to work with this year. As a company dedicated to art education, we chose The Dreaming Zebra Foundation as a dynamic business partner that we make a donation to for every product sold. We chose to work with The Dreaming Zebra Foundation because of their transparency, passion, creativity, and love for what they do. With a small team they are reaching an incredible amount of children with small overhead. Their personal connections to schools, hospitals, and other youth programs makes them a necessity for helping the next generation of creatives who have no access to art or music without them. I'm excited about their continued growth and would not hesitate to recommend them to other donors who are looking to make a difference in the artistic journey of thousands of kids.
The Dreaming Zebra Foundation has made dreams come true for The Chicago Lighthouse's Children's Programs! They were able to secure the supplies we need for our art therapy program, from securing the just-right easels to help children with physical disabilities color and paint,to rounding up fun textural collage materials for our kids with visual impairments. On top of that, Dawne was a delight to work with!
My volunteerism at Dreaming Zebra (DZ) started because I am an avid supporter of the adult coloring book movement. While in a particularly stressful time in my life the healing power of colored markers and paper was a welcomed surprise. One day while purchasing coloring books from Lang Graphics, I discovered the “Coloring for a Cause” initiative, where a portion of the sales from their coloring books were being donated to Dreaming Zebra. After speaking at length with Dawne Camera, the Executive Director and Founder of DZ, her commitment and passion to providing children in need with an outlet for creative expression was astounding and more than a little contagious. As a life-long lover of the arts myself, I practically begged for an opportunity to volunteer. My time with DZ has been extremely rewarding no matter what I have helped with; but I must say the day Dawne sent me a photo of children I helped set-up a supplies drive for holding up a “Thank You Dreaming Zebra” sign has been one of the best. I realize we are not donating food or clothing, as lifesaving as those things are, helping underprivileged kids develop self-esteem, social and emotional skills, critical thinking and problem solving skills is pretty awesome too! I thank God every day for my affiliation with this organization; most of the time I think I probably get more from it than the kids do.
We have had such a positive experience with The Dreaming Zebra Foundation! Dawne has been incredible in locking into the needs of our organization and bringing opportunities to the table that we would have never thought of or had access to. Through her suppport, we have been able to take advantage of new relationships and receive art supplies for our whole fiscal year. That's enough to supplies to provide to over 1,000 youth at several homeless shelters around Atlanta for a year. What a wonderful gift! This is such a relief and equips us with the tools to really focus in on the ongoing well being of our teens.
The thing I appreciate the most about The Foundation is the selflessness of the way they give. They are truly invested in making sure the youth are well taken care of and play their part with the fullness and swiftness we could only hope for every organization to have. It has been truly an honor to be a recipient of their giving and we look forward to a continued relationship.
My love for the Dreaming Zebra Foundation began in 2015 when the CEO sent me a thank you package after I donating over $300 that I had earned from teaching art lessons to young kids. The package included pictures, a personal letter, and a painting. I later became a youth volenteer, which allows me to get an inside view of how the Dreaming Zebra is impacting the lives of underprivileged children and teens. I am truly amazed with everything that the DZF has accomplished, for they have inspired thousands of kids world wide through art. The well organized non-profit is allowing children to discover their voice and explore their creativity, which is both inspiring and crucial to society today. Donate today to ensure a more colorful tomorrow!!
I was thrilled when the Dreaming Zebra Foundation reached out to me to donate materials for my classroom. They recognized the massive need for arts funding at my rural Louisiana high school and were incredibly gracious, supportive, and helpful in making sure my students could finish out their school year with an art room full of supplies. They were excellent in communicating with me during the process of determining my needs and delivering the materials. The Dreaming Zebra Foundation has touched many lives in the Louisiana Delta through their superb arts advocacy!
Great organization. Keeping the arts vibrant for the kids. Glad to see donations directly affect kids.
It's amazing that they give so many children and families an outlet. Art is needed everywhere and this charity makes it possible. Keep it up!
Dreaming Zebra was able to help us renew our commitment to Arts integration by allowing us to overcome obstacles of material supplies. They have been committed to getting us everything we need, and have been knowledgeable in starting us to high quality products that truly fill our needs - better products than we even thought to ask for in the beginning!!
WOW! Dreaming Zebra has been an incredible partner for Children's Healing Art Project (CHAP). They have made it possible for us to live our mission of bringing the healing power of art to children and families facing medical challenges by providing incredibly generous donations of brand-new art supplies, securing a huge gift card to our favorite art supply store and negotiating amazing prices with certain vendors of the items we need most. In 2015 we provided over 11,000 healing art experiences; with their help, we think we can exceed that number for 2016.
Because we deal with so many immune-suppressed children, having brand-new and wrapped supplies is a must. Dreaming Zebra has worked with us to be clear on what works well and doesn't work for our programming and has always come through with exactly what we need. We are so, SO grateful for this partnership!
I have had the privilege of working with The Dreaming Zebra Foundation in recent weeks and cannot even begin to sing my praises of both the foundation and those who are behind the scenes. As I was reading the other reviews below, I saw someone refer to Dawne's passion for this cause as 'contagious'- and that is exactly how it is. I am truly in awe by all that she and her team have done for children all over the globe and very proud to be a small part of such a great cause.
Dreaming Zebra is doing such great work in the US and overseas. It's really inspiring to see how hard everyone on the team works to get art supplies to kids in need. I'm proud to be supporting them.
We are so thrilled for the outstanding support that The Dreaming Zebra Foundation gave us for our summer youth programs. Bradley Angle is a local nonprofit that provides resources to survivors of domestic violence. Here at Bradley Angle, we believe that adults are not the only survivors of domestic violence, children are as well. Our Youth & Family Support Services helps child survivors and their parents through education, counseling, childcare and structured group activities including art therapy.
We heard about The Dreaming Zebra Foundation and how great they were through a staff member. We were excited to reach out to partner with The Dreaming Zebra Foundation to see if they would supply art supplies to help the children that we serve. They were happy to do so. The staff and those that we were in communication with were helpful when applying for the support and coordinating the delivery. We provide youth groups and classes to over 400 child survivors in the age range of 5 to 13. They will all benefit from these great supplies.
Thank you so much Dreaming Zebra for partnering with Bradley Angle as we continue our efforts in creating a community free of domestic violence. We look forward to continued partnership!
The Dreaming Zebra Foundation reached out to us to inquire about our Fine Arts needs in our large, urban school district that serves over 9,500, culturally diverse students. The City School District of Albany and it's Superintendent's Arts Advisory Committee in Upstate New York are so appreciative to gain local and national arts funding partnerships with organizations like "The Dreaming Zebra Foundation". With their support and their ability to "make connections," we were delighted to engage in conversation that lead us to receiving the needed funds that will support our "2016 City School District of Albany Elementary Art Show" (3rd Annual). The show will be held from May 6-8, 2016 at our local art museum, the Albany Institute of History & Art. Last year's show had over 1,000 people walk through the exhibit!
Our opening reception will continue to spotlight student artwork from all 12 elementary schools and will showcase student musical and dance performances during the opening reception. Albany Mayor Sheehan and City School District of Albany Interim Superintendent Wilkins will begin our opening with a warm welcome. All our students and their families are invited to come to the art show all weekend long to see the Institute's galleries and art exhibition, with free admission. Our students and their families will have the ability to walk through the galleries and see their artwork hang alongside famous artworks, rich in local history from the Hudson River School paintings to viewing Ancient Egyptian mummies.
Not only are we appreciative of the Albany Institute for partnering with our Art and Music Dept., but we are thrilled to have the needed support of proceeds from Price Chopper supermarkets through the assistance of The Dreaming Zebra Foundation and D. Camera. We hope to grow this relationship in the years to come. We look forward to a wonderful event this year - thank you Dreaming Zebra for helping us make your acquaintance to form connections to serve and benefit our culturally diverse elementary children and their Fine Arts program in such a special and significant way. Sincerely, K. Wright, Art Dept. Chairperson, City School District of Albany, NY, https://www.albanyschools.com, https://www.facebook.com/albanyartscommittee/
Where can I begin? I am writing this on behalf of the Forestville Boys and Girls Club, in Prince George's County Maryland. The Dreaming Zebra Foundation and its staff (who would rather not be mentioned, Hi Dawne!!!) have revitalized our Touch of Art community art program. With the generous donation of art supplies and consultation on how to sustain the program, we were able to start back offering art classes after a 16 month hiatus because of having a lack of resources. Upon receiving the donation from Dreaming Zebra, our membership voted to designate an operating budget for the Touch of Art community art program. Without the Dreaming Zebra Foundation's support, our kids would still continue to miss out on the much needed cultural and social development this program offers. Thank you Dreaming Zebra for your support.
