I have been a volunteer since December 2019. I call Frankie and Andy's Place my happy place. I get the privilege of loving on these sweet babies twice a month, sometimes more! No matter what is going on in my life once I step through the gates at FAAP I feel peace and calm sweep over me. Being greeted by such loving souls makes my heart happy. I can't say enough of the magical feeling that exists at FAAP. The love I am able to give and the love I get in return from these amazing fur babies is priceless. Even though their pasts aren't pretty, they don't hold that against us. It is so rewarding to see the light in their eyes once they realize they are part of heaven on Earth. To be able to show these fur babies what love is after the crappy hand they have been dealt previously and to know that they leave this Earth feeling so much love is a feeling that no amount of money can buy!

I've been volunteering at Frankie and Andy's Place since the first dog, Lil' Kim walked through the doors. It was love at first sight, and nine years later, you'd have to pull me kicking and screaming from getting to be with the current 37 dogs living their best life there. We began with one, little cabin, and today we have three wonderful cabins with walkways, wooded trails, green grass to roll in...not to mention the most incredible staff and volunteers on the face of the planet. Everything is all about those precious dogs. And everything about the dogs is how they care for each other and countless humans they inspire. In the community they comfort, educate, rehabilitate. I can't even wrap my head around how any human could've let these dogs down when they needed their humans the most, but I feel blessed that they made their way to Frankie and Andy's Place; for we're all the richer for it.

I have volunteerd at Frankie and Andy's Place since it's beginning. Over the years I've fallen in love over 150 times...and had my heart crushed almost as many when it was someone's time to cross the rainbow bridge. My friends and family ask me if it ever gets easier, or wonder how I can take the heartbreak over and over. Here's the thing--I know by allowing myself to fall in love with these lovely senior pups, I'm going to hurt, but I also have such gratitude for having spent time with them, knowing their last days or years on earth were probably the best of their lives. Most of these frosty-faced, loves of my life, came from unimaginable circumstances and have the most horrific backstories. Thank God for Frankie and Andy's place for showing them what love, comfort, and quality care is. The staff and volunteers are 1,000% dedicated to the dogs, and the dogs clearly show their appreciation through the love they give back to us and the community. FAAP's mission from the start has been very clear. There's no other place like it!

I have been blessed to be a volunteer for FAAP for almost 8 years. I look forward to going every week to love on these sweet babies. It makes my heart happy, after the hard lives they’ve had, seeing them being treated like royalty with great home cooked meals, lots of love and attention, expansive outdoor areas to roam and romp in, and leather chairs, sofas, beds with comfy blankets to rest their weary bodies. They truly start living their best lives when they walk through the gates of Frankie and Andy’s Place!

Frankie and Andy’s Place is a safe and loving home for homeless senior dogs to live out the rest of their lives. Once they get to the cabin, every need and desire they have is met and they are loved unconditionally! Their biggest concern is which comfy bed or couch they are going to sleep on next! Every dog should be as lucky as these sweet sugar snouts!

As a volunteer since 2016, I am always amazed with Frankie & Andys. The care. the medical attention, the love that each dog gets is top notch. Dogs coming from the worst of situations lives change the minute they become part of this incredible rescue/sanctuary. I love seeing the dogs blossom here. So many lives touched, both the dogs and the people involved. I feel lucky to be a part of such a one of a kind organization. Every week, my heart is touched spending time with the senior dogs and everyone who makes this place run so smoothly. It is truly heartwarming.

Frankie and Andy’s Place is such a beautiful and valuable part of the rescue community. Not many want to (or are able) commit to senior and hospice dogs as it is a massive expense, both financially and emotionally. But Frankie and Andy’s fills this niche and they do it well. Each and every dog who comes to live here experiences so much love and vitality. So many are given a poor prognosis, yet thrive for months to years due to the holistic way of life they experience. The dogs & volunteers alike are bar none, the most generous souls you’ll find this side of heaven.

I work here very part-time. I have a career and I make enough money, but I choose to work at Frankie and Andy’s one night a week so that I can be surrounded by the love and healing energy of the cabins and sanctuary. I look forward to going in. It’s hard work, and it’s soulful work. But it is so fulfilling and enriching to see once-discarded senior dogs living their final weeks or months (or years!) being treated like literal royalty. If I ever come back as a dog, I want to end up at Frankie and Andy’s Place in my final years. The love, the care, the heart that each person pours into this sanctuary is nothing short of extraordinary.

Most of the stories you will read here are about all the wonderful things FAAP does for senior dogs that have been discarded or abused by their former owners. I know first hand every thing said is true, I have been a volunteer at FAAP for many years.
I want to tell you about another side of FAAP and what they do for people too. My granddaughter, Jessie, volunteered and worked at FAAP. Jessie had special needs but at FAAP, it didn't matter. She loved working with the dogs, it gave her a purpose, she didn't feel different, she was one of the "team".
Unfortunately, Jessie passed away last August but I will be forever grateful for all FAAP did for her.

Frankie and Andy’s Place is a place where you feel nothing but love from the moment you open the gate. You’ll always be greeted by a smiling dog and that feeling of love stays with you throughout your time there.
The dogs at FAAP are mostly senior dogs that have been rejected or ignored or abused in their former lives but they seem to forget once they join the FAAP family.
Nothing makes me happier than to be able to forget about the outside world and walk through that gate and spend a few hours in the peace and serenity I can only find at FAAP.

In mourning for my companion, Ace, I was looking for a place to donate his meds, food and other miscellaneous items. October 2021 I found Frankie and Andy’s Place and have been there ever since! This senior dog sanctuary has been a blessing to all of the dogs living there as well as all of us humans. We get to show them the love, kindness, patience and care they all so richly deserve and should have had all along. What do I get? #1Their trust once earned. Witnessing their joy, love and the bonds they make with the staff and volunteers. Witnessing the bonds these dogs create with each other especially when one is not feeling well. The joy of seeing a dog on the brink when they move in then rebounding with the food, care, supplements and love then traipsing around like they own the place (let’s face it, they do!). I get to help make a difference in their lives.

Before joining Frankie & Andy’s sanctuary as a team member, I settled on the fact that I may never find a career that filled my soul and made me feel like I had purpose. Being apart and directly helping senior dogs finish their life whether they suffered from abuse or neglect has been a saving grace for me that I can’t even explain but i’ll try. I never knew I could love so many dogs at once, much less help SAVE so many dogs while being apart of something so pure and amazing. The volunteers, team members, and everyone apart of it is the cherry on top but the real gift is what the dogs have taught me. They teach me patience, resilience with their own strength and hardships and beauty in the circle of life. They make me laugh, cry, smile, and just feel so good. Going to work is my therapy. All I can hope is that I return the favor for them

The Best! Cares so deeply for senior dogs of all sizes. The dogs don't sit in crates. They get rides in a convertible, go on hikes too. Get to drive thru McDonald's. Vist senior center and make so many happy just seeing them. No matter their health issues they do their best n beyond to make their life have quality. Lots of love in those cabins! They won't die in a shelter!!! They get to know so much love no matter how much time they have left on this earth. If I was rich I'd help build more cabins n they could rescue even more.

Frankie and Andy's Place is a unique senior dog sanctuary. Much of their care is holistically managed - home cooked food custom made to each dog's need, vitamins and minerals to help strengthen their core and individual medical attention to aid dogs to live as much of a pain free life as cane be imagined. I would want my aging dog there as they are loved unconditionally every day they have left in this world. Volunteers are there every minute of the day to make sure they know they are loved - no matter their age or condition. Lots of dogs arrive there with only a few months left, but live much longer than expected. You just can't beat the individual care and love that each dog receives. It's a one of a kind piece of Heaven!

FAAP occupies the intersection of obsession for the dog's view, expertise in caring for dog's individual needs, chef-prepared custom meals to delight their pups, and selfless devotion to service. Using dogs that the world has discarded and celebrating them, allowing them to serve seniors, and doing this all for love instead of money shows the finest aspect of human care. The best.

I fostered a senior named "Nick" (now Jason Momoa) for about 6 weeks. He is somewhere between 12-14 years old with severe mobility issues, kidney disease and a severe dislike of riding in a car. I was quite concerned about his future as he needed someone special to make sure that he could live out his remaining days with dignity and with comfort. It was seeming bleak until I got a call from Ireland one Sunday afternoon, when Penny Miller (Founder) asking about Nick and telling me about the sanctuary. I was over the moon that this was going to be Nick's new home although I knew I was going to miss his sweet nature terribly. With the help of some Trazadone to keep him calm during the 45 minute drive to the sanctuary, both Nick and I knew that when we stepped foot onto the sanctuary's grounds that he was home. He fit in so beautifully and didn't have any anxiety about the change. He gets homecooked food specific for his medical issues, beneficial supplements for his joint and kidney issues, he never has to ride in a car (except I guess to the vet's office when needed), he gets to roam around the spacious wooded grounds and play musical beds with all the dog beds available and most importantly, he is surrounded by loving caretakers and volunteers who absolutely adore him.

Fostering is always bittersweet but Nick is living his best life at Frankie and Andy's. I couldn't be more grateful to FAAP for giving seniors dogs (my passion) a beautiful and loving home for the rest of their remaining lives.

P.S. I hope to volunteer for them in my retirement. Can't wait!

Frankie and Andy’s Place is a little slice of Heaven in the North Georgia woods! Two cabins filled with the most amazing senior dogs, volunteers and staff imaginable. I have had the good fortune of being a volunteer there since the beginning four years ago. We take in the cast-offs, lost, most needy senior dogs who would not likely be rescued or adopted by anyone else. Each dog receives the best vet care from our partners at Gwinnett Animal Hospital. They are treated for any medical conditions and receive follow-up care on a regular basis. They are fed the best food... mostly home cooked at the cabins. They sleep on soft beds or furniture just like most family pets. They get to wander around the yards, and when the weather gets warm they get to visit the swimming pool at the adjacent boarding facility. They love to swim, and it’s so good for their old joints! They also work in the community spreading joy at several local Adult Senior Centers and schools, where we hope to educate the children on the importance of proper care for their family pets. It’s very difficult when we have to say good-bye to one of our senior dogs, but we do so knowing that they lived the best life during their time at Frankie and Andy’s Place.

I could write a book about how wonderful this place is, and how it has profoundly changed my life. I have been a volunteer here for almost three years. If I didn’t live 50+ miles away I would be here every day. Penny and Peter Miller had a dream to create a sanctuary for senior dogs, they surrounded themselves with an incredible group of people and made it happen. It is amazing to see these incredible dogs, most who have been cast off after a lifetime of service to their people, come into the cabin and become part of this family. They are given love by a huge group of volunteers, fed the best food, sleep on soft comfy beds, and receive the best medical attention by Gwinnett Animal Hospital. It is heartbreaking when we have to say goodbye, but the tears quickly go away and become smiles because we know they lived their best days here at Frankie and Andy’s Place.

I love how these special people do not give up on these little old fur babies. Kinda like a retirement home for these babies. Lots of snacks, R & R and riding around, and let's don't forget all the Chick-Fil-A freebies. Just cause they got old doesn't mean throw them away. These little old Fur Babies still have lots of love, yes they can be expensive, stubborn, cranky but they weren't always like this. They're like little Grandma's and Grandpa's. xoxoxox

To say this place is a sanctuary for hurting and tired souls is a massive understatement. Not only for the babies that get the privilege to call this place home but also the volunteers and staff. I started volunteering here as a way to give back to the K9 community and ended up getting a bigger gift in return. The love that FAAP pours into their dogs is incredible and that same love is poured into anyone that is blessed enough to enter the door. These older dogs have so much love to give and so many life lessons to teach and I’m so grateful for a place like this for them to be able to do so. Quite possible heaven on Earth in my opinion.

This is one of my favorite places and a real slice of doggie heaven. All the dogs there are seniors, tossed out by their owners, and found homeless in the final stage of their life. Frankie and Andy's Place takes them in and gives them a beautiful space and the opportunity to heal emotionally and physically. These lucky dogs then get the opportunity to spread love, and joy through community outreach visits with humans of all ages and abilities. It's a win, win for the dogs, and the humans in which they interact.

This place is special! Each precious dog there has a sad story of loss and abandonment yet they won the senior dog lottery, so to speak, by being able to live out their golden years at Frankie and Andy’s Place. Despite their history of being failed by people in the past, most dogs show and provide immense love through community outreach at senior centers, day centers and beyond.

Frankie and Andy's Place is far beyond any other animal shelter I have seen. The staff and volunteers truly have a genuine love for animals and that is what fuels their passion and keeps this place a haven for senior dogs. One of my very best friends has volunteered there for years, and I've been lucky enough to be able to join her a few times. The amount of specialized care they provide these senior dogs is unparalleled. From diligent care of scheduling/providing medications, healthy home-cooked meals that rival your family dinners (including special holiday meals complete with menu choices), to crazy amounts of love showered on these sweet souls, plus all the comfy beds, couches and blankets for you could ask for, this place is truly the best! Each one of these dogs is so lucky to be cared for by Frankie and Andy's place. The owners have made dogs their life's work, and it truly shows. I am proud to know some of the people who help make this place run! They are a blessing!

I discovered Frankie and Andy’s place after the passing of my own senior dog. My sweet 17 year old lab/golden mix, Fiona. The dog that made my whole world. After over a year of carrying her in and out, up stairs and down stairs, daily sheet changes on her dog bed, her sweet soul was ready, but I wasn’t. We used a flannel lined table cloth to keep the messes from getting into the stuffing so all we had to do was wipe it clean and put a new sheet on. What I wouldn’t give to wake up to her sweet face looking up at me and how happy she was when she had a clean sheet on her bed and good snuggle with a yummy biscuit. Stiff joints and incontinence didn’t stop her tail from wagging or her silly doggie smile. Until one evening she came into the room and got on her bed, she slowly looked over at us and I instantly knew. There it was. She was ready. That “I love you but I’m tired” look. It hit my gut like a torpedo. I will never forget that feeling like I will never forget her. She didn’t lift her head again. I will not for one moment ever regret the work it took to take care of her that last year. After all she did for me it was literally the least I could do. Every dog deserves such devotion and I see that in Frankie and Andy’s Place. I see people who will make sure a dog feels just as loved in its last days as it did in its first days. And there is no better way for a dog to leave this world than that.

My husband and I have supported this top notch senior dog rescue for years now. The Millers are tried, tested and proven dog experts in every sense of the word (nutritionally, behaviorally, etc.). They are of the highest integrity and so is every single volunteer and staff. They run a super tight ship in record-keeping, finances, cleanliness, and in the care for senior dogs. I have witnessed this myself plenty of times. The heart that drives this vision is pure, extraordinarily compassionate and huge. When it comes to any charity (and I have seen tons of them so quite frankly I tend to be a natural skeptic), this one is far and above all others. It is very well respected by other animal rescues and animal professionals. I would give it a gazillion stars if I could and it still wouldn’t be enough!

The dogs live in the comfiest of quarters with soft beds, cage-free (each one very carefully temp tested), truly a home environment. We support this charity and see it — and the fruit of it — every single week. The Millers not only have the pure, huge heart, they also have the highest standards of excellence in care and also in business and management. Hi.
I’m a new volunteer with Frankie and Andy’s Place but not new to Rescue...
volunteering as I have done so over the past 8 years at 6 Rescue’s between Fl and Ga.
Frankie and Andy’s is by far the most unique and dedicated I’ve encountered.
While others shun seniors with medical issues and special needs.
Here, they go after the challenge and are rewarded with a sweet appreciative senior that can enjoy their final days, months or years with lotsa TLC.
No cages here..
These seniors big and small can wander from doggie bed to chair to sofa as their cabin Home is set up as a regular furever home.
From early in the morn till late in the eve there is hands on cuddles and watchful eyes.
Special home cooked chicken, rice and sweet potatoes are part of the daily meal routine.
Lots of shaded outside fenced grass to roll in as they can wonder in and out as they need.
If they could talk...
I’m sure they would say...
“Yep..it’s a dogs life and we’re lovin’ it”. ❤️

Frankie and Andy's Place can hardly be described without a big smile on my face and tear in my eye. These old senior dogs have grabbed my heart and I guarantee all the volunteers feel this when they visit. These old dogs show us how to live life with happiness. They hobble around the yard, some blind, some with cancer and some just frail and arthritic, but not a word of complaint. These dogs would have been euthanized at shelters, had not Penny and others rallied to save them and bring them to the old dogs home to live in comfort and peace. This is undoubtedly one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Hard to see them go over the rainbow bridge, when one dies, but we find comfort knowing their last days were happy and adored. They don't know it when they first arrive, but they figure it out quickly that they matter and are safe, respected, needed and mostly loved! Rescuing senior dogs and "hospice" cases means some won't be with us long, but for those sugar snouts when it's time for their walk over the Rainbow Bridge when they're at Frankie and Andy's Place they are loved across with all the dignity and gentleness that we can. At Frankie and Andy’s they receive round the clock love, home cooked meals, special diets when needed and total care including addressing medical needs. I’ve seen such love and knowledge in one place.

The founders/owners have the purest heart for senior dogs (and all dogs) that my husband and I have ever seen. The dogs are cared for by only the most compassionate, diligent, faithful, accountable volunteers, many of whom I know personally to be women of the highest caliber, character and integrity. Truly the complete model for any animal charity, they far surpass all others in every area.

I have always said if I won the lottery I would buy a lot of land and take in all the dogs that no one wanted. Well I will probably never win the lottery but I am able to live out my dreams by volunteering at Frankie & Andy's Place. The senior dogs there are so greatful for the chance to have a place they can call there forever home, and to be truly loved by all the volunteers that come into their lives. The dogs give back what they are given tenfold, and to get to be a part of this is an amazing experience.

I have the utmost respect for The Miller’s and this lovely seniors’ home. We are not ones who trust easily, especially when it’s our dogs care. But this family has only the dogs well being- their entire well being, as priority - not just keeping them fed and safe. Their focus is giving those innocent souls a great time and the finest life possible. I’m so happy to recommend them to everyone I meet. The senior pups who are there will receive the best treatment and can live the remainder of their life knowing love and care, as all dogs deserve.

Recently, I attended a Yoga class at Frankie and Andy's Place. I mean, who wants to do yoga with goats?? Yoga with dogs, however, was so much fun! Before I left, I bought a couple of their t-shirts.
Later that day, I was wearing one of the shirts when I went to grab a bite to eat. I noticed an elderly woman who was eating with a somewhat younger man and woman. She was eating her meal but didn't have much to say to the others.

When I got up to leave, she saw the logo on the back of my shirt. She asked if I worked at Frankie and Andy's place. I told her no, but I had just enjoyed a yoga class there and met a new resident, Victor Mature. She told me that she was a resident at one of the nursing homes where the dogs from F&A's Place visit. As I was waiting for my husband to join me, I heard her engage the others in an excited conversation about the dogs and how much the residents enjoyed their visits.
I know that F&A's place brings joy to many people who are like this sweet little lady.

An amazing facility that takes in discarded senior dogs left at shelters that would be unadoptable and most certainly would face death. These dogs are given a loving home and loving voluteers to work with them and love them Every day. They are treated with the love and respect they deserve in their last few years and given all the medical care they need. Some of the dogs are used as therapy dogs are going around ti nursing homes to cheer up the lives of senior adults and the adults are excited at every visit and shower the sweet senior dogs with love. If you have ever heard the expression "a little slice of heaven" and thought does that really exist? Well it does at Frankie and Andy's Place. It is truly an unbelievable place. They take dogs that others have given up on for one reason or another and give them that second chance that they truly deserve. Each dog that is there has a story of where they have come from. Some are incredibly heartbreaking some just make you shake your head. But one thing is obvious these dogs have come from broken hearts and entered Frankie and Andy's place and been wrapped in love and are now thriving. They all truly have glows about them and a bounce in their step. The dogs there are truly angels in fur. They all have such huge hearts and such a healing power about them. It's amazing to look at those dogs and know the heartbreak they have gone through and to see what they are now.

I could rave about how amazing and healing the dogs are but the staff and volunteers there as well are incredible. It is obvious that their hearts are truly in this mission and that is all about the dogs. They give so much of themselves to make this incredible endeavor thrive.

I could not think of a better place to donate time or money too. This organization truly shows that old dogs have worth and value and they focus on spreading that love those dogs have to give to make this world a better place. Thank you Frankie and Andy's place for what you do and thank you for giving these oldies the 2nd chance they deserve!

I was there the day this cabin was delivered. I never knew it would change my life. Animals have always been a passion. But this place is the movie Cocoon for animals. Where can you take an old guy with bad skin , wobbly legs, and lumps that isn't expected to live 2 months? And 8 months later he is soft and running to you with dirt face kisses ! Or a 16 yr old Doxi with heart condition, rotten teeth and a large tumor hanging of his chest. You get his teeth cleaned the tumor removed. He goes to the Senior Center and spreads love and joy for 4 months. He knew joy till his time here was done. They have purpose they didn't know they had. Some go to visit the Senior Centers. That's is their job to share their stories that we all have purpose regardless of our abilities. Some stay at the cabin and have other jobs by bringing joy to volunteers. Or just an hug and kiss when you need to recharge yourself from life. But they have brought me an amazing extended family . I am truly blessed to be part of something so magical .

Frankie and Andy's Place is heaven on earth for senior dogs that have been abandoned by their owners and wound up in county shelters. These loving souls are pulled from the shelters and immediately taken for vet checks and receive any medical help they need. Next stop is Frankie and Andy's place to meet their new friends both four and two legged and to see where they will be living out their days. Inside the cabin they have comfy couches, dog beds, blankets and they get the best food and supplements to keep them as strong and healthy as they can be. Many wonderful volunteers come to spend time loving on these sweet souls, taking them for walks on the beautiful property or just spending time outdoors with them in their own beautiful fenced acreage. Don't forget rides to the local senior home to spend time with some wonderful older folks, or just a nice ride to get a treat or enjoy some scenery while letting the wind blow their ears! I hope when I become a senior, there will be a place like Frankie and Andy's place for me!

A dog is man's best friend and a man is a dog's best friend. Nowhere is this more evident than at Frankie and Andy's Place. The senior dogs in this center are rescued from shelters or other negative situations. They are given comfort, love, and security. In turn, they give those same things back to humans at senior centers and other situations where a little unconditional love and warmth is needed. The happiness on the dogs faces is undeniable and the love and dignity with which they are treated is amazing.
The Millers and their volunteers love dogs and are able to make the last days, weeks, or months of a dogs life a little piece of heaven in earth.
