The humane society provides medical care, enrichment, playgroups, good nutrition and love to the animals in their care. They have saved so many lives of dogs and cats. These animals wouldn’t be alive today, if it were not for the HSNEGA. They are always trying to improve and help the community. Volunteering here is so rewarding. The staff and volunteers share the love and compassion for the homeless animals. They have opportunities for the public to get low cost vaccinations, spay/neuter and much more. We have an incredible Volunteer Program. These animals lives MATTER to all who work or volunteer here. Five stars for sure!!

I am a current volunteer with the HSNEGA. I have been walking dogs for years and hope to continue doing this for years to come. This humane society treats animals medical needs, provides shelter and consistent nutrition and enrichment for the animals. The volunteers are a tight group and we try to be sure the dogs get out once and hopefully twice a day! The Society provided training for us to do playgroups! Being with these dogs has been the most rewarding times in my life. Offering homeless dogs hope and keeping their tails wagging is why I do what I do every week. This Society helps so many animals that would otherwise not have this second chance. Is it perfect? No, of course not, but it strives to help the community with all animal issues, taking in dogs from area kill shelters, offering low cost healthy vet care and providing spay/ neuter. If an animal has to be in a shelter, this is the best place they could be until they get their perfect home!

I am a volunteer with this shelter and have been for many years. The staff does a superb job with all the needs of the animals. Our foster coordinator works tirelessly getting great fosters for so many of our animals. They have great enrichment for our dogs and cats. As a dog walker, we are provided toys, pools and treats to keep our dogs smiling. This shelter is one of the cleanest , and the community comments on this continually. This humane society saves many lives from other area shelters, and takes young, old, heart-worm positive and injured animals. I love volunteering here.

I have been involved with FAAP since the idea was made into a reality. Penny Miller has this vision to help our senior dogs, who have been discarded by their owners, and give them a piece of heaven at FAAP. So many volunteers share her dream! So many donors honor the dogs and what this “sanctuary” stands for. Once you see these dogs THRIVE and RESPOND to the love, care and DIGNIFIED REDPECT they receive, you will want to be part of this rescue. I have been involved with helping dogs for 14 years and Thought I would never see anything as wonderful as FAAP. Please accept this heartfelt message to keep this rescue as one of the most important. My experience with the Humane Society Northeast Georgia is great! They try to take as many animals as possible from different area shelters, so as to give these animals a second chance. They have helped so many Mama dogs have their babies. They continually are making positive improvements to better serve the community. But, best of all, the volunteers love what we do. Socializing, loving and playing with the orphans bring joy to our hearts. We love the dogs get soft music to enjoy and warm blankets. Our dogs are happy, while waiting for their forever homes. Great place!!

I have been a volunteer with this Humane Society for 12 plus years. Volunteering here has brought me much joy and peace because the animals are the best teachers of life. If you want to get involved, there are numerous programs to share your time and talent. It is a life changer!! I would suggest socializing and walking the dogs and or spend time with the cats. This helps them stay happy and ready for their homes. The administration is very in tuned to the animals needs, and on any given day, a dog or cat will be in the offices getting extra attention and a soft bed and toy. The medical care here is superb. Please consider HSNEGA when looking for a place to donate, volunteer or adopt!!

Frankie and Andy's Place can hardly be described without a big smile on my face and tear in my eye. These old senior dogs have grabbed my heart and I guarantee all the volunteers feel this when they visit. These old dogs show us how to live life with happiness. They hobble around the yard, some blind, some with cancer and some just frail and arthritic, but not a word of complaint. These dogs would have been euthanized at shelters, had not Penny and others rallied to save them and bring them to the old dogs home to live in comfort and peace. This is undoubtedly one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Hard to see them go over the rainbow bridge, when one dies, but we find comfort knowing their last days were happy and adored. This is one of the most unique and worthy rescues. All the volunteers love these seniors and all of us learn from them. They ask for nothing. Some are blind, arthritic or have cancerous tumors. They never complain. Please consider volunteering and/or donating to help keep this much needed rescue continue to save a senior dog.
