Programs: Gallery accessible education exhibitions: the da center for the arts is located in downtown pomona, the 8th largest populated city in los angeles countys 1st district. Pomona is a high-crime, low-income underserved community with 149,500+ households. The da is the only comprehensive cultural arts center where beginning to experienced artists and performers have presented their work to the public through the da - some for the first time ever. Over 3,000 individual artists, musicians, writers, actors, directors, producers, dancers, filmmakers, creative art therapists, art students, and arts lovers benefit annually from the programs offered to the community at the da center for the arts.
provided arts education to over 600 at-risk children and other community members including:6 days a week of art classes offering clay, drawing, painting, printmaking, and photography5 days a week of writing sessions, poetry reading, writing workshops, spoken word & critiques. Over 120 concerts featuring ambient, electronic, experimental, classical, jazz, blues, hip hop and opera performances10 theatre productions a year and acting classes to keep the classes accessible to the community, the majority of classes and performances are free or suggest a modest donation of $5-$10.
