Mutt Hut is beyond amazing! Where to even begin? We adopted our dog Guppy from Mutt Hut earlier this year after first knowing Azu as the frequent caretaker of our late dog, who had many special health needs as she got older that required extra expertise to manage. Azu is one of the kindest, most generous people we have ever met, and she is so experienced, knowledgeable, and professional, dealing with animals of many different species, ages, and health requirements. She is not only great with the animals themselves, but has clearly developed deep relationships with the community over her years running Mutt Hut, with veterinarians, a broad network of fosters, and other rescue organizations. At Mutt Hut, it's clear that the animals' well-being comes first no matter what, and these incredibly generous people go to tremendous lengths to get an animal in need the help it requires. Our Mutt Hut rescue dog Guppy had been found by one of their volunteers in an industrial area in terrible condition, emaciated and matted beyond recognition. Azu nursed her back to health, Mutt Hut covered all the medical care she needed, including significant dental work, and they made sure she was in good health before she became adoptable. We have seen them put the same level of dedication, care, and financial investment into many other animals who have been lucky enough to be rescued by Mutt Hut. The adoption process itself was simple and professional. Mutt Hut is a fantastic organization run well by wonderful, capable people, and we cannot recommend them highly enough.

I have adopted my dog from this rescue as well as foster their many rescued dogs. This is a genuine, caring rescue that goes above and beyond in saving lives from the start to the very end! From the vet care, grooming, fosters, and the adoption process of finding the perfect homes — we are so lucky that such a loving and hard working rescue exists.

I only recently became a foster for Mutt Hutt rescue, but before that I had networked with Azu to help a few other animals. At the moment, I’m fostering Yuri, the little Russian tortoise boy who appears to have been chewed on. Being a foster is difficult, but rewarding. You quickly become very invested in this animal that is not yours and you rely heavily on support from the rescue. Azu is amazing. I hear from her at least once a week asking if I need any supplies and wanting to know how he’s doing. I feel like I have support and I’m not on my own. Being that Yuri is a medical foster, I do feel a certain amount of stress, but I know that Azu has my back and we can discuss his ongoing treatment together. I honestly feel like she deeply cares for each and every animal in the rescue. I don’t know how she has the energy to help as many animals as she does, but I’m here for it! I would definitely like to continue to foster once a Yuri recovers and gets adopted.

I met Azu approximately 7-8 years ago. I was looking for a way to somehow help/give back to the community when this lady invited me to feed the “unhoused” and their pets in DTLA. The rest is history, Azu has been such an inspiration, her heart has no limits when it comes to an animal in need.

I have volunteered with Mutt hut as a transport and a foster. Azu is very knowledgeable and even when she doesn’t have all the answers she guides me to someone that might have them.

They say it takes a village, and I have witnessed it. No matter how small your donation or your role is in a rescue, it all comes together in the end and it helps make a change. ❤️

We are Fosters for MHR (and one foster fail ❤️). It is such an honor to be able to help all these reptiles and to see them flourish. Every leaving creature deserves a chance. MHR is such a dedicated organization that is truly an advocate for these animals.

I’ve started fostering for MuttHut several years ago. It was my first foster experience ever and it couldn’t have been a better impression. (I’ve fostered for shelters and other rescues but they do not measure up).

MuttHut supports you every step of the way, goes above and beyond as far as their care for the foster pet is concerned. MuttHut doesn’t take the placement of the pet with an adopter lightly and won’t place the animal with a family unless they are 100% satisfied it’s a good match.

I’ve also fostered failed 3 times with dogs from MuttHut - see pics. ♥️

Our experience with Mutt Hut Rescue was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. Azu was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and supportive, ensuring that the adoption process was smooth and stress-free. They were transparent and thorough, so there were no surprises along the way. Azu took the time to learn about our family and what we were looking for in a dog, and Greta, a 5-year-old chihuahua-pomeranian mix has quickly become the heart of our home. Greta's sweet (and quirky) personality and playful energy have been a perfect match for us, and we’re so grateful to Mutt Hut Rescue for bringing her into our lives. Their dedication to finding the right forever homes for their animals truly shines through, and we can’t recommend them enough!

Simply by accident in 2014 I became involved with Mutt Hut Rescue. I volunteered to transport a puppy that was being surrendered to MHR. I ended up fostering her and the rest is history. I have transported, fostered, foster failed, and helped out at adoption events. I have fostered dozens of puppies/dogs through the rescue. Every animal that comes through MHR is treated just like family. When you adopt from Mutt Hut you won't get any surprises. As a foster my job is to learn everything about my foster. I will be able to tell you likes and dislikes. The rescue depends on it's fosters providing this information so the animals can be matched to their forever homes.

I have volunteered for other rescues but my heart and soul belongs to Mutt Hut. MHR is not in it to make money, it's about saving lives. It's a motto I admire. I have also developed a great friendship with the founder of the rescue. I admire her loyalty to all the animals in her care.

My foster fail Bandit and a couple of previous fosters that are now in loving forever homes.

I first learned of Mutt Hut Rescue in 2015. Saw their world's cutest MinPin puppy up for adoption. We told our friends to find us a puppy just like him for us, but in Colorado. That was where we lived. Long story short, they said call! I said, "He is gone now; it's been three weeks." Well, Joe was not gone, but almost. We scheduled first to meet him. We adopted him. 4 state lines, and 9 years later, he is such a lovely, well-adjusted, very healthy, and happy dog. He still has play dates/sleepovers with his birth brother. He helped raise Jan, our second Mutt Hut adopted pup, also pictured here. He (and she) are a true testament to a wonderful group.

My family and I adopted the sweetest little puppy about 4 months ago from Azu and the Mutt Hutt rescue team. It’s just what our family needed. The process from start to finish was seamless and Azu’s love, support and knowledge for all the questions I had were answered. And I asked a lot!!! We may consider fostering for them as well in the near future.
Wonderful experience and definitely recommend them.
Thank you Mutt Hutt for everything!

I accidentally became a foster MHR bout 11 years ago. It all started because I was interested in adopting a dog they had. She ended up not being a match for my family or the other dog I had. Instead of giving me a hard time, i was given compassion, understanding and support. Because of all this, I decided to help foster "once in a while". Once in a while Came and went, and soon enough my family and i became a full time, part time, long term fosters. Mutt Hut had a mission. It was to help save lives. I understood the assignment, and I wanted to be a part of it. My personal dog had health issues and a few accidents. Mutt Hut was always there to help us out. There were times we found people who became homeless and not only did we help the dogs, but we helped the owners too. That's what Mutt Hut does; GIVE GIVE GIVE. they give help To cats reptiles, dogs and more. They've had our backs and I will continue to have their back as long as they are around. I LOVE MUTT HUT.

I LOVE Mutt Hut! They do so much for for all of their animals, volunteers and adopters. They work not only as a team but as a family and treat every foster as family. You can truly see all the effort they put into making sure every animal’s needs are met and match the families so well! Once adopted, they continue to be supportive of the entire family in countless ways. Through these tough times, they continue to save so many dogs, cate and reptiles. They truly are the best!

I have been a volunteer with MHR, and I am so blessed to be able to help out pets in need. The dogs that have been selected for me to foster have been so wonderful. I get to spoil them like crazy, and get them ready to meet their furever family. I love hearing stories and seeing photos from our adoptive families, as many of them keep in touch with MHR to let us know how our former fosters are doing. I like that MHR vets their adoptive families, to ensure the pets are going to be placed with the right family. Thank you MHR for all you do to help critters in need!

My family has adopted from Mutt Hut Rescue three times - twice for my household and once for my mother-in-law. All dogs were vetted, housetrained, healthy. Their stories and concerns were communicated to us, and they kept in touch. Rescue is tough, and MHR does it right.

Mutt Hut Rescue does so much to help animals in need. They are true heroes for a lot of the animals that are found in unfortunate situations due to previous owners. I was a foster for them for about 3 years and throughout that time I have seen their continuous efforts in trying to save as many animals as they can going above and beyond, while still trying to tend to their own lives and families. My first foster dog was a female pitbull who had suffered trauma and had to be an only dog, which made it difficult to find a home for her. She was very low weight when they found her and was nurtured back to normal weight. They funded her training to help her work on the trauma and she was eventually adopted by someone out of state. They never gave up on her or any of the animals that they take in. It’s truly amazing to be a witness of all the work that they do.

Mutt Hut Rescue is an outstanding non-profit. They go above and beyond for all of their animals, and put every single one before any of themselves. They often spend from their own pocket, and miss time from their families due to picking up other people's messes. I fostered more dogs for them, than years alive on this earth, and if I was still in the same State, I'd still be doing it to this day. And, we don't need to talk about the fact that my first foster for them, turned out to be my first foster fail. Lol! Love my Linc Linc

Mutt Hut Rescue, Inc has helped countless of animals making sure to give them the best care and finding them a forever home. They have housed them and give them a save heaven. They have provided all the necessary attention and care needed to animals. They’re the best at what they do, rescue animals, give them shelter and making sure those who adopt them are not only good for the pet but also keep in contact with them to help in any other way possible. They go above and beyond for their rescues, always keeping in mind the animal’s well being.
