Mission: The Learning Bank serves adults who want to improve the quality of their lives and their families through education and employment. By holding to high standards TLB teaches adults the value of education, personal and civic respons-ability, cooperation, employment and career planning. TLB acts as a stabilizing force in a diverse inner city community by giving people who have not graduated from high school a second chance. Our large corps of volunteers, many of whom are college students, interact with people from very different cultures and backgrounds, expanding and enriching their educational experience. The Learning Bank acts as an advocate in the cause of literacy and assists other programs from across the nation in starting or expanding their efforts.
