The Staff and Teachers are friendly and well prepared . Classes are small to where you feel important .
Mr. Morris paced the teaching so we all understood the material and had time to ask questions . Mr. Morris
kept the atmosphere lite and some interesting stories . The support Staff is awesome and made shure all
other steps needed and pa test paperwork was ready . I enrolled knowing nothing about CDL training to i'm now ready to take the MVA CDL test .

My experience during the CDL training was truly positive, and I’m grateful for the support and dedication of the entire team. Mr. Mercury stood out as a passionate and knowledgeable trainer—his patience and clear explanations made even the most challenging topics easier to understand. Ms. Sonya, our job coach, was always encouraging and pushed us to stay focused on our goals, offering guidance whenever we needed it. Kevin’s interview skills training was also a major highlight. MND has changed my perspective about the work force. I’ve never been so engaged in something before I have already recommended this program to 3 people. I’ve had a great experience and I most definitely will come back if needed. My coach Kevin W was also a very big help thru this process and Mr.Dwayne my forklift instructor was extremely helpful and excellent at teaching him and Ms.MC. I had the honor of participating in the CTC course. My instructor "Mr Kev" was a breath of fresh air. The teaching style of the class helped was catered to each individual learning abilities. The process helped with my overall job seeking experience, mock interviews and resume assistance. When you complete the course, you still have a an opportunity to come in and get extra help with the computer lab. I can't forget the 1st line of defense, Mr Dwayne of the front desk. He will definitely set the tone of excellence you will inherite from MND.

I came in with a slight learning disability and was discouraged. Out of school for over 11 years. Maryland new direction made me confident and comfortable. I had a trainer named Kevin C. This guy was awesome anytime learned in past every exam. Miss Sonya H. did an outstanding job with communication, etc.. there was jobs lined up exactly after graduation different opportunities. This was just only the CDL program imagine the other opportunities and programs they have. Not to mention resumes and professional clothing, Business attire. Thank you, Maryland new direction.

I had a wonderful experience at MND . My instructor was Mr. Kevin C he was amazing. He made sure we are prepared for the Permit test . He gave us great study tips and prepared us for overall greatness. All of the staff were nice and Super helpful and if I had to come back I would . I will be recommending lots of people .

It was a very interesting experience with Maryland new Direction my CDL instructor Mr Mercury was extremely awesome he gave us great study tips the whole nine yards I was a security guard for 12 years and I knew I wanted to do commercial drivers but didn’t want to be in debt to get it so I found Maryland new direction it was a big step leaving my house at night but I got through it and kept going I want to thank everyone in the class the staff everyone for this great boost towards my new career

I am newly back on the job hunt. I tried several resources for help with my resume but could not find someone to give me resourceful and sufficient help preparing my resume. I found Maryland New Directions through Google. Lucky for me, their location was not too far for me; and they had availability to see me when I walked in with no appointment. I was paired with one of the most kindest individuals that you can come across; she said that she goes by the name “M.C.” She was terrific and very, very helpful. She was very resourceful, insightful, and keen on what my resume should look like to capture the attention of potential employers.
I’d recommend anyone reading this to reach out to Maryland New Directions for help with getting back into the workforce, they give assistance with resumes, job listings, and/or skills development training. I was also surprised to find out that MND also provides professional attire to wear to anyone that is in need of suitable clothing to wear to land their dream job.

I had been out of work for a few months and was having a hard time finding a new job. I found out about MND through a bus driver whose bus I was on. I signed up and they got back to me within days. The whole process was convenient and easy. Everyone was friendly and extremely helpful. My instructor, Mr. Mercury was the absolute best. He was thorough and made learning fun. I have since graduated and on my way to obtaining my CDL and a promising career as a professional driver. This program was a lifesaver for me and my family. I had a great experience with them in the CDL B (CTC Training). All the staff was a joy to be around. It was a pleasure to have done the CTC training with Mr. Mercury, he’s fun and helps you with all things CDL and more if need. I would suggest if you want a career change to inquire with them about forklift, cdl, resume improvement/ writing, etc, you name it the assistance is there, all for no cost to you. Come and get some need to know skills for a new job or career change at MND!

I walked through the CDL class with no knowledge of being a driver. Three weeks later I have valuable information on the requirements of being a school bus operator, a MTA driver, and a tractor trailer driver. Mr. Mercury is the best instructor for this CDL-B course l really appreciate his patience with us learning the material. I also love his teaching method helps me understand the material better. I believe he should get a raise. He’s here all day and standing on his feet mostly the entire class he is deserving of that. I was looking for something other than a job after being laid off recently. I had always heard that cdl driving was a good career to have but I didn’t necessarily know where or how to start. One day scrolling Facebook I saw an ad for Maryland New Direction giving a free class for those interested in cdl driving. I immediately signed up and got an email about a day to come in for an information session. Everything about the program is to help make you better. There are many people here who are invested in you becoming your best. The cdl program has been very helpful with understanding the information needed to pass the test and that they also pay for you to take the test as well as help you find a company that meets your wants and needs. I am extremely grateful to have been able to experience this because I truly feel like I’m on my way to a better life with the help of Maryland New Direction

You can't get any better than this! This program is so many things but I will say how Gratefully Thankful I am. Paying for my DOT card and CDL Permit! And have a closet full of free things to look through and keep! Great teachers and staff. 10/10 program. Oh and feed you snacks! I will recommend.

I found this at a job fair. They mentioned that they were getting ready to start a FREE CDL class. It just happened that I was going to get my CDL for my job so that was right on time. The class was very helpful and full of information that I needed to get my CDL. The instructor Mr. Morris, was great! He taught in a way that was easy to learn and retain the information that he taught. I would HIGHLY recommend this program to anyone. I'll be coming back to do the hospitality class also. I came to MND with the expectation of gaining valuable knowledge about being a forklift operator at the port of Baltimore. Not only did I meet my expectation, but I gained a lot of knowledge about myself and how to take a professional approach when dealing with conflict resolution. Late last year around November, I noticed that I had hard time signing my name as usual, had difficulties writing cursive, and also lost my balance from time to time. I have since seen at my physician reference: a cardiologist, an ear and throat (E and T) doctor, and a neurologist. Each of these specialists carried lenghty and detailed tests that lasted two months in average to complete. The cause of my sickness remains a mystery. I am now unable to work out of my home due to the frequency of dizziness attacks and the pronounced balance issue.
I used all unemployment benefits last year and not qualified now.

MND is one of the most excellent civic organizations I have ever crossed paths with. They truly provide a full spectrum of services for those trying to enter or reenter the workforce. They provide lucrative training, coaching, help writing CVs, and interviewing practice, They even provide professional clothing for those who need it.

I first volunteered with MND to help their clients write CVs. The support I was able to provide was easy for me, but extremely practical and valuable to the clients I assisted. Since then I have returned every month to conduct mock interviews, giving clients valuable practice presenting themselves in the best light. I keep returning because I feel my contribution is making a difference.

Finally, I must point out that everyone I've met on the MND staff is both professional and personable in the extreme. It is a joy to work with them and contribute in a small way to their cause.

I just recently contacted my CDL training course at MND center. The staff was amazing, very supportive and understanding about people’s barriers. I totally recommend this program to anyone who wants to change their lives.

In August 2017, I lost my job after 15 years of service. It was a very scary time for me. I was in the midst of homeownership and had some medical issues. I was advised of Maryland New Directions through the Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulations. Maryland New Directions gave me a whole new way of looking at my situation and gave me hope. I went through a service training program with them and was able to complete the course and became certified in the Service industry. I also learned how to market myself with confidence despite the challenges I faced. All of the coaches were very helpful. They advised me on how to interview effectively and had mock interviews with real employers. This was very helpful because the employers gave immediate feedback for improvement. I have kept in contact with the job coaches and I have referred family, friends, and strangers to Maryland New Directions. The coaches continue to assist you a long as you stay in contact with them. Good morning I Genese Hubbard starting my new journey when I went to Maryland new connections in 2013 I met some wonderful people that was happy as I was for me to succeed. They gave me the training and skills I needed to make it in our society. I truly would like to think each one who was there when I came threw. I had not worked in 15yrs so I wanted to show I was committed, that's when I started volunteer for Maryland new directions and my sister's place. I said who never hire me first I will give my all. 6 months later my sister's place hire me, I been here ever since. I started off a program assistant. I am now program assistant/peer recovery coach/ community health navigator. Thanks to my job coach Sonya Gibbs who worked since I met her in 2013 and still works with me now 8 years later. She has been a positive force in my life. Maryland New Directions has change my life for the better. I can't think them enough.

I've had the experience of obtaining customer service improvements as well as receiving information on how to present myself as a new employee in the work world. I'm glad to say that the opportunity not only provided on site interviews it also proved to be a good resource for my future careers in Social Work.

I really enjoyed my time at MND. it was really informative and indicative of my life and story. Heard about it by word of mouth and i feel like it was meant for me to head in MND directions. The things i have learned and learned hear, hopefully will parallel my life for bigger and better things

THIS ORGANIZATION ROCKS!!!!!! You will not find another Nonprofit Organization that shows as much caring, and compassion as this place!!! The workshops are very informative, and up to date to keep you going. I have been motivated so much to get back to my seat the next day i wake up before the alarm clock!!! These folks have the goods! I got help refreshing my Resume' so that it stands out, and am receiving more than one valuable credential to get the job that I need. Highly recommended!! A++++++++! MND provides more information about the jobs market in Maryland and and give to candidates required skills for understanding himself behavior in order to correct it and encourage them to apply for jobs according to the everyone background and available opportunities.
We are not aware about our values but we have many values, and MND is the right moral person to go and seen in order to increase our personal consideration, and integrate a career.

Here at MND it was a great experience for me to take in the new knowledge provide. This program actually help you see the bigger in picture in life, and getting a career not a job. The exercises here help you to grow as a person and as a interviewer. It was a struggle but it's really worth it. Your weaknesses will become a strength after the program. Mr.Lamont my job coach was a great mentor, him helping me too stay confident everyday and helping me to stay positive.

Program was very informative and resourceful. They help with resume job search cover letter and anything buisness and proffesional related. The MTDL program was a great program not only did a learn about the port, i learned about other divisions in the MTDL industry. All the staff was supportive and did all they could to make the program as easy as possible. Of all the staff i came across they were all proffesional and courteus. They made sure that you come out of the program with stackable credentials. Was able to network and make connections with people tha can help in the long run.

My experience at MND was by far phenomenal. The last three weeks I've been here , it was always good energy from the job coaches, every one was nice and they worked with us to help us succeed. They guided me through a interview process, they gave us tips and pointer on what to do and what not to do during an interview. It was very helpful and I wish I could do it all over just to experience the good vibes and awesome energy that they give off in MND.

Coming in the door i was not sure what could they offer me different than any other training program would. I am astonished at all the great resourceful information given to me.The guest speakers bought in were very resourceful with the material given to us. Overall a very educational experience .That i cant wait to share with a friend.

Hello my name is Mario. I attend Maryland New Directions for two weeks and in that two weeks I have learned so much about the work field. My job coach, the staff, the person at the front desk and all the volunteers was always so helpful. My classmates of 10/2018 was the best TEAM WORK was our main strong point. We all wanted each other to do better and we didn't only do it by words but by the actions. I would recommend any one who would like to better their self give Maryland New Directions a chance. They will give you all they got to get you where need to be. Just be about your business when you come cause they are about theirs and its all for you. This is a Non-Profit Organization but they work daily like they getting paid to help you get paid. I guess all I'm saying is Maryland New Directions THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING...

The two weeks I've spent at Maryland New Direction has been amazing ! I have gone to many workforce development centers and I have not received the level of preparation and dedication that I've gotten here at MND. The job coaches are genuine about helping us reach our potential and are committed to helping us reach our employment goals after we finish our training course. I will definitely refer other person in need of assistance with their job search.

I went to Maryland New Directions to obtain my Forklift Operator Certification and had a wonderful experience there. All the staff members and volunteers were welcoming and very helpful when needed. My classmates were also exceptionally wonderful and well-groomed. It was a wonderful experience for me and in the end i came out with a Guest Service Professional Certificate as well as my Forklift Operator Certification! I would most certainly recommend this program for anyone who is having a hard time or even just a career change to try them out. My job coach Ms. Sonya Harrison was the best coach ever and she made sure i was well prepared for any task at hand that i needed her there for and she gives wonderful advice when needed. Mr. Rick Vallance is the MAN when it comes to job leads and other referrals for job trainings. All in All this programs has all your specific needs to employment and i mean EVERYTHING!!

My volunteer experience at Maryland New Direction (MND) has been superb. I find the program and resources to be comprehensive and relevant; offering students the skills necessary to conduct successful job searches in a variety of industries. MND instructors are passionate and deliver the material with great care. Equally as important are the students who all have consistently appeared eager to learn. MND fosters an environment of inclusion, encouragement and genuine support. You can tell they’re really committed to their students’ success.

I think that MND has helped me a great deal with composing a better resume, cover letter, and having an masters application. It has also helped me be more confident in myself and the skills that I have to offer to a job. I have also learned what an employer is looking for in a potential employee and to also ask them questions as well.

This training program was a great and eye opening experience. I met a lot new people and the information that was presented was informative and relevant. However, I wish more update with currant situations, younger mind set. Overall, I had a good time and was very pleased with the service. Thank you and lets aim for 50 years in service!
