Mission: CALAA champions local arts agencies and their development as essential to the cultural, educational and economic vitality of California's communities, and the well being of all its citizenry. The mission of the PAIN Exhibit is to educate healthcare providers and the public about chronic pain through the poignancy of art; and to give a voice to the many who suffer in abject silence.
Programs: CALAA has established a statewide network to enable frequent and effective communication between the board of directors, district chairs representing ten active California districts, members, local arts agencies, and people and organizations that support the growth and accessibility of the arts. Each district is represented by two District Co-Chairs, who facilitate communication within their districts and with CALAA. CO-Chairs call district meetings as a forum for discussion of regional, state and national issues. CO-Chairs statewide represent their Districts at quarterly CALAA meetings. Through this link, CALAA maintains a direct link to its members and constituents in the field. Chronic Pain Visual Arts Project -- Will be launching the PainExhibit.com website which is the online version of the PAIN Exhibit. Once funding is obtained there will be a touring version of the exhibit.
