Mission: The mission of the akhmedova ballet foundation (abf) is to provide the finest quality ballet training to young dancers enabling them to become strong, healthy, and fully developed artists. Through education and training, abf works to preserve the great artistic traditions of russian ballet.
Programs: Abf provided professional quality ballet training to 13 gifted and talented students. One student graduated and was hired by a professional company. Abf also provided a 2 week summer program of intensive training for 12 students and another 3 week intensive program for 15 students. Abf presented 2 major productions for paid general audiences, 5 free performances to senior citizen facilities, and performed at leisure world and at riderwood senior communities. In addition, abf performed at a career day for highly impacted glenhaven elementary school. Finally, abf provided scholarships (in the form of reduced tuition equivalent to $15,000 to students based on merit or who were unable to pay full tuition.
