Trees for the Future not only plants trees, but through their Forest Garden approach also helps smallholder farmers regenerate their land and puts them on the pathway out of poverty and hunger.<br>These farmers, who were dependent on one or two crops annually, are now growing all sorts of fruits and vegetables, while the trees they plant also help fix nitrogen in the soil. <br>It's a no brainer that this approach suits our planet and the people who inhabit it.

The atmosphere at The National Marine Sanctuary Foundation (NMSF) is detrimental, evident across the office, virtual meetings, and events. The leadership's inefficiency is palpable, with certain senior positions harboring bullies, making it challenging for entire departments. Despite initial enthusiasm, employees end up burnt out and disillusioned. Working for an NPO with a noble mission does not guarantee fulfillment here; inadequate people management, complacency, stagnation, and bureaucratic hurdles hinder impactful work. Low salaries and weak benefits further dampen the experience, and the lack of family-friendliness demands sacrificing time with loved ones for ceaseless, exhausting tasks. Professional development and advancement opportunities are nonexistent. The current lack of stability, marked by restructuring and overspending under new leadership, raises the specter of inevitable layoffs, contributing to a pervasive low morale.

Absolutely horrible! They helped me get into an apartment development and when I began having issues with management, repeatedly called police about being harassed by a psychotic druggie tenant, THEY THREW ME UNDER THE BUS!!! Said that they can no longer "support" me, yet claimed to be "supportive"??? I am in the process of filing a grievance complaint with the state regarding this horrible situation they "put" me in. The supervisor is a disgusting, lying, petty....she said "you signed the lease" "we have no control over the circumstances'. Steer clear and far of this organization!!!

MEOR has single handedly transformed my life. I have had over five years of experience with MEOR on two college campuses- Emory University as an undergraduate and the University of Pennsylvania as a law student. MEOR provided me with a stress-free, open-dialogue and intellectually-stimulating approach to Judaism through classes and experiences so that I could make an educated decision about my own Judaism. The MEOR staff is made up of warm, highly intelligent, and amazing role models. If it weren’t for my involvement in MEOR, I never would have developed such a strong connection to Israel and the Jewish people, which led me to seek a job at the Supreme Court in Israel.

I've been training at CA for more than a decade, and still feel like I have a lot to learn. The volunteer staff is helpful and always cheerful. A bad day at the dojo is when I can't make it. All that is required is to be present.

Before making a donation to this organization, I checked to see what percent of my dollar would be spent on programs, service and research. Can you believe their overhead is at 8 percent? This was great to know and I will consider donating again in the future.

For the past weeks I have been volunteering to promote the ACS GW programs and to raise more support for those programs. I have found older teens and young adults very willing to engage to serve with their time to raise funds and donations

Kenya Connect started as a simple letter exchange between the students of two teachers passionate about expanding the world view of the children they work with. As a result of those letters, the children who have so much sought to help their new friends who had so little in the way of material resources. More than 10 years later, children have lead the way, raising money to install water tanks so that their friends in Kenya have clean water year round, AIDS orphans have school uniforms, real soccer balls replace the bundles of plastic bags students kicked around the school yards, and more. <br> <br>Kenya Connect is the most efficient and transparent organization I've ever encountered. Money raised by students in the US, France, Canada and other countries around the world goes directly to their partner school - overseen by the KC field director. Every penny is accounted for and the schools contribute sweat equity to stretch those contributions as far as possible. Most exciting to the donating students, they get to see and hear from the students who havce benefited from the donations. Field reports are provided just weeks after the money is sent from the US. I know of no other organization that connects contributors and recipients so directly and gets results so quickly. I give Kenya Connect FIVE stars.

This charity has one of the most profound purposes ever given to man, to uphold and protect the beauty of life. Every client they serve experiences a respect for not only their life, but every person involved by a decision. I cannot offer any words but praise, and a sincere hope that the center continue to grow and serve the community. The doctors there are experts in their field and use their expertise to serve others.

By Maria Glod Washington Post Staff Writer Tuesday, October 20, 2009 A Maryland man admitted Monday in federal court that he stole medication intended for poor people in Africa and sold them for a profit. Joseph Egbe, 44, of Gwynn Oak is the owner of e-Meditech, a charitable group that had a contract with the Catholic Medical Mission Board to distribute the drugs. Egbe made more than $10,000 by selling some of them to a Baltimore pharmacist, who then repackaged and resold them, federal authorities said. Egbe pleaded guilty to misbranding of pharmaceuticals in U.S. District Court in Baltimore. His attorney, William E. Tabot, could not immediately be reached to comment. The drugs Egbe sold included those used to treat the common cough as well as medications used for patients with breast cancer, stomach ulcers and diabetes. The drugs had been donated to the Catholic charity and were supposed to be sent to Cameroon. Officials with the Catholic Medical Mission Board, which is headquartered in New York and has an office in the District, said they have been working with the Department of Justice and the Food and Drug Administration since May 2008 on the investigation. The group receives millions of dollars worth of donations from pharmaceutical and medical supply companies and sends them to impoverished areas in dozens of countries. "We send a lot of medication, but even one bottle that doesn't end up where we had intended it to is distressing to us," said Barbara Wright, a spokeswoman for the board. "There are so many personal stories attached to the medicine we deliver. It's never-ending. " Wright recalled a trip she made to a clinic in Honduras. She said the doctors and nurses told her that few people went there because there was no medicine to treat them. However, when a woman arrived and said her baby's "chest was on fire," the clinic was able to treat the child for pneumonia. According to court documents, Egbe orchestrated a scheme with Pamela Arrey, a Maryland Pharmacist who opened and operated two Medicine Shoppe pharmacies in Baltimore. Between 2005 and 2008, authorities said, Egbe took some shipments of the donated drugs, attached labels with false expiration dates to them and sold them to Arrey. Arrey wrote several checks to Egbe totaling more than $10,000. Arrey has been indicted on charges including health-care fraud, conspiracy to misbrand drugs and sell donated drugs, and aggravated identity theft. They are pending in federal court.
