Hunger Fight was so extremely organized. We hosted an event to pack and provide 1 million meals for the Utah Food Bank. I was impressed by their ability to be efficient with both the time and resources necessary to coordinate the thousands of volunteers. Their hearts are in the right place as well. Highly recommend!
We do it together - mom and daughter and we love it. The time is well spent, you make it fun and use that time wisely...to help others. But the most important and heartfelt part of this process, is the fact that we get to help folks right here in our community, children who don't know any better...get this help so that hopefully they'll have a better home and school environment. God is good.
We worked as youth group to fill 10,000 meals. Hunger Fight was organized and ready for us. Their mission is heart felt and we are thrilled to be able to be a part of serving others.
Hunger Fight is a wonderful organization that saw a need and did something about it. They take every penny and make it count. The food all stays local to the Jacksonville area and really makes a difference to the people of Jax. The packing parties are awesome! 2 and a half hours of organized chaos that are so much fun!
It was great experience being able to participate in packaging food for an organization that takes care of children around the counties. Is a rewarding experience knowing you helping them make it happen.
Totally fun way to give back to my community! The event was well organized, started on time and ended early. Everyone was cheerful. I will look for other events to participate in.
Hunger fight is doing a great job organizing people together to help feed hungry children in the most needed areas. While making it a time of fellowship
They have a great attitude and are actually helping children and families in OUR community. Continue helping those in need!
Attended my second "packing party" today at Restoration Church in Jacksonville. I am always happy to take part in helping his outstanding organization that exists soley to feed hungry kids. They do it the right way...make hard work fun and meet a need. Great job by Dean and crew today in orchestrating their brand of "organized chaos"...and by all the volunteers who made it happen. When we looked up...43K meals were in the boxes and on the pallets.
Hunger Fight Jacksonville Fl.
My second time assisting with the packing of these meals to feed our families in our communities. It is all about being Christ hands and feet. Providing for those less fortunate than others. My experience is a humble one. God bless this organization , and all the other ones

The most amazing work experience ever. I did this last year and I was so excited to come back again this year! They're doing such an amazing job at helping out in our world.
Their mission to feed the hungry and to improve literacy in the community is wonderful. The fact that they have been able to expand their reach speaks volumes to how well they are doing. They are very organized and passionate about what they do. I wish there were more people and organizations such as Hunger Fight.
Extremely fun team building event with a highly impactful cause. I wish this was a larger organization, so many could benefit from Hunger Fight's mission.
The help they give to Jacksonville and the state to low income children and the elderly is amazing! I love what they do and there passion!!!
Providing basic physiological needs to less fortunate children & seniors. I'm very humbled & proud to do my part in furthering their efforts!❤️
I became aware of Hunger Fight's mission through a packing event held at my church. From that time many years ago, I have volunteered my time and talents to their mission of feeding those who are hungry. Their passion and drive to help those in need are evident in every thing that they do. Their expansion of their mission to fight illiteracy and hunger in our children is making a difference. Joining them in their work is a pleasure and a privilege.

As someone who works in the nonprofit sector, I see many organizations that say they are going to do something, but don't. Hunger Fight is one of those that delivers on everything it promises. The simplicity of what they do in packing meals, engaging the community and companies to do it, and collaborating with other nonprofits to get the food delivered, makes this organization one of the few that continue to consistently deliver their mission. I have worked with them since they started, both as a volunteer and with an organization that was the recipient of the food. They are what they say they are. Helping us all to "reach out and feed someone."
Totally impressed with this organization. I love that it helps the local kids. The founders seem to be amazing people. I really enjoyed hearing all about the organization. It was an amazing experience. Thank you for allowing me and my daughter to take part.
I think this organization does a great job of helping volunteers pack as many meals as possible in a short period of time. I love that the meals mostly go locally to allow people in their own city to make a local impact.
Provides all the scaffolding (supplies, location, details) necessary to provide direct assistance to children in our community. All we had to do was fundraiser and show up 🙌🏻
Doing a great job. Feeding Americas hungry kids, with better food than some mom's supply these kids, like to get dried veggies on the menu's some day.😁
They are involving the community in feeding the hungry. Great organization. It needs more publicity. We will volunteer again.
This is such an amazing organization and it's so near and dear to our families heart. The fact that we were able to feed a child for one entire year is amazing to us. The founders are amazing people and run this organization so diligently and smoothly!
HF is making great strides to fight against child hunger in the North Florida area. I was impressed by their procedure as well as how organized and how quickly the event progressed, as well as the number of meals that were made. HF does a phenomenal job in providing, beneficial and nutritious meals to those in need.
They are very well organized and efficient. Volunteers left feeling incredible with their experience helping to pack meals for kids!
This organization is a 10 out of 10 in organization, inspiration, and impact. I brought my whole family and 70 others and we LOVED it.
They are doing an amazing job! Go glad I could help today packing food for the less fortunate. And being a part of a great organization.
They inform people about what they're doing, to spread their reach, and they do the best they are capable of
Very well organized and efficient use of time. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Looking forward to our next time.
The nonprofit has exceeded my expectations in organizing the site and how smooth it went. They provided us with such good instructions and helped us in how to help out. They don't need to improve. Because they did a wonderful event planned out and I couldn't be more grateful to serve in city serve. I would do it a million times again. They are 100% incredible and awesome! Such a great nonprofit organization to work with and everyone should do the same!
This nonprofit is very organized. It is clear that their passion is to love and serve the food insecure. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience serving with Hunger Fight
What an amazing organization for not only our church to volunteer at, but for anyone who wants to help fight hunger.
What a positive experience! Very organized, exciting and FUN! Loved the way they ring bells every time a box is filled; play music, give encouragement as you meet packing goals. It is just lovely to be part of such a wonderful mission.
Worked at the ST John the Divine Serve Day preparing meals. It was a great experience. So glad that both my husband and I could be involve with something that will help our community.

What a wonderful organization. They are so organized and uplifting . Our church really enjoyed and came together to pack over 10,000 meals in 2 hours. We will be supporting this group again for sure.
Wonderful experience from a worthy cause. This appears to be a great idea but who is actually responsible for acquiring the meals and insuring the children are fed. Thank you
There's absolutely nothing I would change. They are doing such incredible job at giving back to the community. Their message will touch so many lives. I thoroughly enjoyed being able to work with the organization and others to help make the food packages/boxes for the children and community.

These folks at Hunger Fight are the best!
Some of our soccer team got together to give back to our community. It was a great opportunity for us and we enjoyed helping. We will do this again in the future. I appreciate what you do for our families in the community. Thank you for having us!
What an awesome experience. We wanted to make sure that our students paid back a little bit towards the businesses that support them. Can't wait to bring more students next time!
What an amazing organization. Being the Volusia Young Professional Group President for 2019 we have teamed up with Hunger Fight o n a few packing parties and love the work they do a nd look forward to partnering again. Great organization that gives back to our local community. Fun environment to volunteer for the whole family.
My daughter was researching a nonprofit organization for her middle school Civics project and discovered Hunger Fight. We were impressed with their mission and commitment to fighting hunger in our local communities. Dean and the team provided great insights on their organization’s objectives and their willingness to travel to pack food for those in need, especially young kids that face hunger outside of school. We’ve attended two packing events and look forward to continuing to support this great organization. If you are looking for a meaningful community event, please consider reaching out to Dean and his team!
Such a great program. Allows at risk youth from my agency to volunteer giving back to their community while earning community service hours. The kids come back with a great experience and a lot of positive comments expressed to their Case Manager. Thank you Hunger Fight !
Found a great program that that warms my heart. Great people, great network and just all around program. As a mother of a retired NFL player we strongly encourage others to get involved
What an amazing organization. I thought I was "only" going package food, but the experience was more than that. Hunger Fight is more than providing food to those in need, the Feed the Need to Read program is providing books to young people which feeds the mind of youngsters and encourages family participation. What better combination should an organization have ... feed the soul, feed the mind and feed the family.
Amazing experience with a wonderful organization! Packing good quality food to provide to families in need was nothing short of fulfilling. The staff was more then helpful, nice and willing to take time to show me how it worked and educated me on how many families were able to be feed due to the volunteer work of my company.
I think this is a great organization. I love the idea of helping kids where they need help the most and Hunger Fight is doing a great job. Love what they are doing for the community.
I had a wonderful fulfilling experience. I am considering bringing my son to another event. Thank you for helping the kids in our community is such a wonderful way!
This was a very rewarding experience! It feels good to be able to help others. My daughter and I volunteered with a group of colleagues from Florida Blue. One of the founders gave us some statistics and background on why this organization was founded. It’s very unfortunate that some children and their families go without food. But, it’s so refreshing to know that we are able to help. I will definitely volunteer again.
Vision and mission are on target. They're very professional while loving people. I admire them for doing what they're doing. The process they have in place for packaging is easy & it works. Thank you for the opportunity to greatly affect our community. Júlia
They're spreading the word about the need to help feed the food insecure and hungry children in Jacksonville, Florida. There's still lots of children in NE FL that need to be fed.

Hunger Fight runs a very well oiled organization. What I particularly like about Hunger Fight is that all of the meals that are packed go to the northeast Florida area, where my club is located. We love the events, and will do them again.

They make the warehouse environment fun and enjoyable. They also play so great music while you're working too. The best part is when they call out how many meals be packaged. Makes me feel like I can do more to raise that number.
I love how everyone work as team. It's a family. I also love how helpful everyone is to one another. I recommend to everyone. I hope to do this experience again

Was amazed at how organized they were and how many people they fed and helped educate. Provided some astounding statistics I was not aware of.
They are doing great , by making sure ppl (including children) are not going hungry. Also, by making sure children receive books to help them read.
Hunger Fight does a fantastic job distributing many thousands of meals to the less fortunate & hungry in the greater Northeast Florida Area. Scientifically formulated to provide protein and vitamins/minerals, with tasty food options for families including beans & rice, macaroni & cheese, and oatmeal, a family only needs hot water and a pot & stove to have a nutritious meal. Their products are extremely efficient & maximize contributor dollars versus meals provided
I think this nonprofit is doing a wonderful job feeding children. One doesn't realize how many children don't eat over the weekend and I was proud to have the opportunity to help

This is a great organization. I was overwhelmed with the impact on children and Their families this program has. Great job Hunger Fight.
Y'all are doing very well by thinking of other people than just l yourselves and I think that that is exactly what god wants, but if you want to improve you could provide many other meals. Travel to place and ask people who need food what they would like to eat. Thank you for letting me participate. God Bless You!
They were supportive and help me with any problems I had. I had a wonderful time at Hunger Fight and you should donate your money to them.
This nonprofit should be gauged on how many people it helps. In 3 fun filled hours, my youth group packed 10,000 boxes. A month full of that could feed 3 million stomachs. Wow
Millions of kids will receive meals that they wouldn't get otherwise. It is an excellent organization.
They are doing really good! You could maybe improve it by getting it out more, and letting more people know about it! But I really enjoyed it!
They are very sweet and kind to all who need their help. I enjoyed my time helping others. I think everyone should donate to them!
They are very organized! We were able to package 75,000 meals in 3 hours! They bring the community in to work together.

Dean and Sheri Porter live to help organizations like Feed The Need Of Putnam County meet their goals of feeding children each week . Yesterday's HUNGER FIGHT PACKING EVENT at The Shores Resort & Spa in Daytona, FL was really well organized. Great turnout, lots of enthusiasm from both the volunteers and non-profit workers, and we packed 60K food packages. Woo hoo!

WestRock has had the priviledge of working with Hunger Fight for the past three years. Each year our team feels we have made a least a small contribution to a great cause! This team building event helps ensure each member is a vital part of the meal making process! We have been truly honored to help this community!

We did our Day of Service volunteering at Hunger Fight...what an awesome group to work with and my fellow employees really enjoyed it and can't wait to work with them again!!!
My team and I volunteered for the 2017 Hunger Fight Event and packaged beans and rice for children in our local area schools to ensure they would not go without food on the weekends. We had a fantastic experience and it was great to be a small part of an amazing charity. We look forward to being participants again!
We were looking for a mission project that our children could be involved with and this was a perfect opportunity. We started small and took a few children and a couple of our youth to the Thanksgiving event at the Prime Osborn Center. We had a great time, everything was well organized, and all were able to participate. They also came and shared their vision with our church congregation and we look forward to scheduling a church=wide food packing event at our church in the new year. Great way to get all ages of your church involved!
This was our first opportunity to serve and assist Hunger Fight in their mission to make sure that kids are being fed a healthy meal which they may not otherwise receive. We were very impressed with the organization and structure of how efficiently things ran. We at Maudlin International plan to make this a annual tradition for our team and their families. I can't imagine a better way to teach our children to serve others. What a huge BLESSING it was for myself and my wife as we watched our children preparing meals for less fortunate children in our community and abroad.... Great experience! Keep up the Good work!!

Volunteered with them twice! Once at my church and most recently at an event with Tote Maritime sending food down to Puerto Rico to help those impacted from the hurricanes! Highly recommend them! Not only will you help someone in need, but you will have an absolute blast doing it! The crew is super helpful, fun and upbeat! Will definitely do again!
I had the opportunity to participate with a packing event hosted by my company. WOW, what a wonderful organization! Very professional, very well organized... I LOVED every moment of what little I did to help so many, such a rewarding feeling. THANK YOU Hunger Fight for giving me the opportunity thru you to be able to give back...

Very impressed, not only with the organization of the event, but the nutritional value that is packed into each meal and the positive attitudes of the staff that guided the volunteers. I can't wait to do it again!
My company was recently able to participate in this event and not only is it for an outstanding cause, it was also a great way for associates to get to know each other through a team building activity. This event is very well organized, competitive and a lot of fun!
My family has worked at the thanksgiving packing event for several years in a row and I’m always impressed by how efficiently it is run. I also volunteer at a food bank and we really appreciate getting the complete and nutritious meals Hunger Fight delivers to us.
Our school, Hyde Grove Early Learning Center, partnered with Hunger Fight over the past year to feed the students at our Title I School. It’s a comfort to know that our students go home with nutritious meals for themselves and their families.
We have been blessed to work with Hunger Fight over the past four years to feed the hungry in our area. Dean has such a big heart and love for the less fortunate and we are honored to be a part of the solution!
Hunger Fight is an amazing non profit organization that we are happy to support every year with events hosted by amazing people working together for a great cause.
This is our 3rd year of doing a countywide Food Packing Event. We have grown every year. Hunger Fight sets up the whole infrastructure and we just raise the funds, show up and pack. It’s a phenomenal team and community building event. In addition, it’s a lot of fun for old and young.
We have volunteered with Hunger Fight for the past three years. Their mission is relevant, their process is efficient and the experience gets better and better each year. Dean and his leadership team are driven to provide an excellent experience for the participants to drive maximum impact with those meal recipients. Sometimes it is hard to tell who is being served us or the meal recipients. If I could give them 6 stars, I would.
My team and I volunteered for Hunger Fight and made food packages for children in our area that go weekends without food. We had an amazing experience and it was great to see exactly where our donation money was going. So proud to be a part of this charity in our community. Keep us the good work Hunger Fight!

Hunger Fight is a well organized and efficient Nonprofit. One that I am proud to sponsor. They started from "scratch" have worked tirelessly for the benefit of those in need. Both Dean and Sheri are devoted to hunger Fight and to our Lord Jesus.

This nonprofit is very organized. Year number 3, I've volunteered and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of packaging the meals.
They are an awesome organization doing great work in the community and providing opportunities for others to get involved and help those in need!
This is my third year. It is a great way to give and really see what you are making possible for those less fortunate.
Hunger Fight was a great team builder for our company while contributing to fight hunger in our local market. Couldn't ask for a better partnership between RNDC and Hunger Fight.
I have volunteered several times over the past 5 years and each time has been more rewarding than the previous. This is an AMAZING organization that continues to improve their operation while expanding their reach throughout NE Florida. if you haven't participated you need to soon.
This organization is awesome. They really care about the hungry children in the community and do every thing they can to be sure they are fed. We have such a blast every time we spend time packing with them. Keep up the great job Hunger Fight.
You guys are doing great things. It is sad that we have children going hungry and to realize how bad it is in the local areas is crazy. As for improvements, just keep it up so that it continues to grow.
The non- profit is doing an amazing job. They are also well organized. Keep up the great work of feeding those in need. Thanks, Charo
This non-profit works very hard to meet the needs of the homeless and others in feeding the hungry. They also help those survivors of catastrophic emergencies.
I watched hunger fight go from nothing to one of the best hunger fighting units in Jacksonville and I would say the southeast. Dean and Sherri run hunger fight based on true Christian principles and I believe they will continue to grow and grow. None of us are perfect but at this point I do not see a weak link I what they are doing.
Very courteous, prompt, efficient, and appreciative. Perhaps a periodic day of rest would help. Very busy normally.
Hunger Fight is a nonprofit organization that is feeding hungry people. It's a wonderful idea. This is what Jesus wants us to do. Helping less fortunate children. We really love dedicating our time and have fun each time we get a chance to do such a needful cause. TGBTG. Thanks Dean 😘 Mt. Bethel Church Family

The amount of help they give is amazing and beyond compare. They are constantly looking for more effective and efficient was to do more with less.
Over the past 5 years I've watched Hunger Fight grow and serve thousands of children and families in need in NE Florida. They're a GREAT organization with unique volunteer opportunities. You should check them out and donate to their mission.
I think it is great that they are helping out local kids. It's sad to think there is hunger going on in our community and for such a small donation on my part and a little bit of time, I was able to help out many kids. I think it's great what all they do with such a small donation.
This nonprofit works with organizations within local communities to help feed the less fortunate families in the community who struggle to provide daily meals for their children.
Hunger Fight uses their resources well and are helping the most vulnerable right here on the First Coast!
Hunger Fight’s Mission is to provide meals for children and families that are in need of food. We added Title 1 schools this past spring to include children that live below the property level. Our goal is to provide these children meals on the weekends, so when they return to school on Monday they are ready to learn, able to focus, and participate in class.
HF is a great organization to work with. Very conscientious and sincere in what they do. Very professional. Well managed.
Very well organized local organization that is fulfilling a much needed niche in our community. Providing food security to those who might otherwise go hungry.
They are really phenomenal!!! I like how they always make it fun to help them and how they have never disappointed me since the very first day I've worked with them. They are always on time. They treat us very well just like how they treat those who needed help.
This was the best non profit event I had ever been to. They were organized, detailed, knowledgeable and friendly. I will be volunteering with them from now on. What they do for so many kids is just inspiring!!!!
They provide the infrastructure for community groups, churches and nonprofits to pack food. They provide Stellar fundraising methods in order to pay for the food. Their service is so outstanding that they have illuminated all the obstacles that would prevent a community group, church or nonprofit from participating.
They provide a quality product to meet the need of children in reference to hunger, they do this while allowing volunteers to participate in every aspect.
Hunger Fight is doing an awesome job holding packing events not only in Northeast Florida but throughout the state of Florida to provide hungry children and adults with a hot nutritious meal. The only way they could do a better job is with more financial donations and more volunteers. A very worthy cause to support.
Our Group The Northeast Florida Association Of Realtors participated in a day long event recently. It was a great Team Building experience for us. However, the fact that our monetary donations and work packing meals was going to the benefit of local people in need was a huge plus. This was a very fun experience with lots of heart.
Our organization, the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors (NEFAR), partnered with Hunger Fight in May 2017 to package 50,000 meals. Although our organization does other charity and community events, we were looking for something that would impact the communities of our entire organization, which spans multiple counties. In addition, we wanted something in which all members could take part, regardless of their age or physical abilities. Our Community Affairs Task Force chairman, Don Mullinax, found the perfect match with Hunger Fight. Our 8,000+ members loved the idea of being able to help families and children, and donated all money to fund the meals in addition to more than 200 of our members stepping up to work the packaging event. It was a fantastic bonding experience for our members and they had a lot of fun doing it as well. Many who participated asked that our organization participate with Hunger Fight again. Working with the team from Hunger Fight was also a definite plus: they are so responsive, caring, organized, and effective that our entire staff and member participants gave them very high marks. Hunger Fight is the real deal when it comes to truly helping those in need!
Our Outreach Council at St. John's Cathedral worked with Hunger Fight to pack food. We had a great event and packed more food than we expected! The volunteers had a good time. I recommend Hunger Fight because they offer an element of 'volunteer management' in the sense that they show up, set up, teach volunteers how to pack, and then everybody goes home after a satisfying 2 hours of work for a great, hands-on cause.
Our church (Holiday Hill Baptist) loves to participate in this outreach project to feed the hungry. We love the connection that we have with Hunger Fight. We believe in what this organization is trying to provide to the community!
Hunger Fight approached our church, Normandy Park Baptist, and shared with us the great need of Title One students who do not have sufficient food over the weekends of the school year. It broke our hearts! Hunger Fights is an INCREDIBLE organization who has a wonderful approach to addressing the need. We loved the fact that every dollar, every meal we provide, can be directed exactly where we see the greatest need. I really believe the genius of their approach is having the giving group work together to create the food packs. Having an actual hand in the work builds greater investment in the need as well as brings friends together.
Dean and Sherri Porter have hit a home run by serving the elementary aged kids in Northeast Florida. The community has embraced the mission and is making an impact directly in our backyards. Food that stays local and helps the immediate community is the best business model out there. Way to GO!! Support these great people any way you can!! Goof people doing Great things.
Hunger Fight is a true blessing to the community & surrounding area. "Reach out" to feed someone & help others is a wonderful opportunity to "show Christ Love to others. Those who are able to volunteer receive a blessing beyond words. What an amazing nonprofit organization that touches so many lives. It brings hope, joy, & love to all who give and receive.
I am very honored to support Hunger Fight and appreciate this awesome group of people that are reaching out and feeding Duval County and surrounding communities.
I have been working as a volunteer now for about 3 months .. it is so great to know we are helping feed the children . Great organization. Professional . Will continue to help in any way I can ..
I was blessed by being a part of their Christmas giving to the homeless that are in downtown Jacksonville. They were very organized with letting us know how to approach those in need and they had the items, in nice containers ready for distributing. Looking forward to volunteering with them again.
Want to make an immediate difference in a hungry child’s life? Get involved with this amazing group. There are so many opportunities to serve folks in your community....with folks in your community...dedication, drive and a big heart for serving is at the heart of this group! Join in!
I have been working/volunteering for this nonprofit for 2 years and I can't say enough about what a rewarding experience it is. It's like a family working together for the good of the community.
Packing events are a lot of fun for everyone who does them and this unique way of hands on helping by companies/volunteers is terrific for making everyone feel involved.

I love this organization. I moved here from Atlanta and immediately was looking for an organization supporting hunger needs. Actually my company supports this organization as well, so it was easy for me to get hooked in. They really run a very lean operation and do so much for the community just by packing food. Can't say enough great things about their mission!
HungerFight supported our first food packing event at Memorial Presbyterian Church in St. Augustine in 2017. The event was a total success, involved all age groups in our church, and promoted a lasting sense of our outreach mission to our community. We will schedule another, larger one in 2018 and will ask HungerFight to support this one, too, because of the wonderful, personal, teamwork between our congregation and HungerFight. They truly live out Jesus' commandment to care for the poor and the hungry.
We have known the Porters for years and have watched Hunger Fight evolve from an idea, to a side project, to a full-time mission! We have participated in packing events and have also been in situations where we have been able to pass out their meals to families in need. We have seen firsthand the impact that Hunger Fight is making in community and around the world. They operate their organization with integrity and excellence. We're proud to be a part of the Hunger Fight team!
I've had the opportunity to attend several packing events with Hunger Fight through my church. What an uplifting experience. We had great fun and knowing that the food was going to be distributed to hungry children in the community made the time and effort even more worthwhile. This organization IS making a difference for those who are hungry. I encourage everyone to become involved in a packing event. Great team building, but more importantly, the resulting food is helping those who need it most.
I used to work for a big retail chain and volunteered with my co-workers at several packing events that I enjoyed tremendously! In fact, I enjoyed working with this non-profit so much that I now work for them because I believe so strongly in what they are doing. I have seen the difference they are making, first hand, in our community and I want to be a part of that change.
What an inspiration it was to be part of the Hunger Fight team for just a few hours and to assist in packing some 20,000 meals for the hungry. It is such a well-organized and efficient process Hunger Fight has designed to assemble the meals, and with just a little help from the 100 or so volunteers on hand this past Saturday morning, the ready to cook food was awaiting distribution to the families in need. How awe-inspiring and humbling it was to see what a difference just one or two people can make in improving our community and our world. Kudos to the founders of Hunger Fight for all the great work they are doing for people in need!
I really enjoyed packing meals with my Deermeadows Baptist Church family Saturday. Together we laughed, sang, talked, and worked fast as cow bells sounded for 20,000 meals. This organization is easy to work with, well-prepared, very organized, helpful, and fun, filling spots wherever needed! We hope to do this again with them! It makes one feel so good to actually do something with our hands to help the hungry. (The worst part was how we looked in our blue hair nets!! :) ) MD
Spent Saturday Morning at Deermeadows Baptist Church packing over 20,000 meals. Extremely well organized event. We were well trained and the process was very efficient. A truly great experience.

Spent the morning with Hunger Fight at Deermeadows Baptist Church- packing 20,0000 meals, It was a Great time having fun helping others!!!
Hunger Fight is an Amazing group to work with! Looking forward to the next time!!
My daughter and I were a part of making over 20,000 meals this morning at DBC. What a wonderful organization Hunger Fight is!! I love being able to serve those right here in our own community-and helping children at that! I had no idea just how many Title 1 children we had right here in our own county. Can't wait to participate in more activities with Hunger Fight. Thank you to Hunger Fight, for all that you do for our community!
This is a great way to give back to the less fortunate in the community. We at Exit Real Estate Gallery packed 10,200. meals in 1 hours time. Hunger Fight is extremely organized and made the time fun and entertaining for our company. Keep up the great work you are doing!
Our inspirational home team, Kathleen Weise, Jeanne Scholl and Exit Real Estate Gallery love Hunger Fight and how they selflessly have made the fight to feed the hungry a life priority !!
Had a great experience last night. I volunteered at a Hunger Fight event in Jacksonville. The event was well organized, uplifting, and a ton of fun. I hope we can make it an annual event.
What an amazing experience tonight! I volunteered at the Hunger Fight Packing Event in Jacksonville and could not be more pleased with such a well organized and fun nonprofit organization. I will be doing more of these event for sure!

Today my children and I helped prepare 10,000 meals, and it feels great! This is a wonderful program!!
My wife and I recently attended a function of packing meals here in Jacksonville and found the experience truly inspiring. This organization truly is amazing and is very well organized. We will attend many more of this organizations functions in the future.
If you haven't experienced a packing event with Hunger Fight, I recommend you attend one. The reward you will feel is amazing and the impact you'll be making in the community is awesome.
My name is Paul Bell. As a Grant Writer whose job has involved bringing in needed funding for nonprofit feeding, housing and educational organizations, I can't tell you how happy I am to be working with Hunger Fight. You can't understand how fulfilling it is to share in this mission to provide healthy and nutritious meals to children and families in need until you get involved.

I truly believe in what they are doing. I work at a food pantry and see the hungry everyday. What Hunger Fight is doing is incredible. If you have not been to one of the events I urge you to go and participate. You will be amazed; not only what it will do for you spiritually, but what it does to the people in the groups. Knowing that you have just helped thousands of people go to bed without being hungry or to school with a meal in there stomach makes a persons heart feel good. You will sleep that night knowing that someone has eaten what you packed for them. and I promise before you leave the event, you will want to know where the next one is so that you can volunteer.
Sincerely, Mark S. Olson

Hunger was made known to me about 2 years ago, since then I have been to and hosted several event. The food we packed I was able to help distribute throughout my committee in Marion County. I also do not feel like just a donor or helper but a partner. The packing events are one of the most full feeling things I have ever participated In. Please give it a try!
I recently learned of the great work this organization is doing when a friend invited me to participate in the Hunger Walk held in downtown Jacksonville. The event was really well run and I plan to participate next year. I am also excited about the possibility of volunteering with this group and hope to attend a packing session. They are really making a positive difference in lives of hungry children in Jacksonville.
Great organization with great people. I have volunteered with Hunger Fight twice so far and excited to volunteer again!
My team 3 peas in a pod participated in thw "Walk to End Hunger" on Saturday January 21. We had a great time, finished the walk. After the walk we hung out with others and enjoyed the music, bag lunch, and awards.
The team at Hunger Fight does an outstanding job of meeting a critical need in our community and give donors and volunteers an awesome way of participating and being a part of the solution. I look forward to the next opportunity to be a part of another packing event.
I have been associated with Hunger Fight for a couple of years and am thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful organization. Be it a packing event, color run, or other sponsored events, you always have fun while helping with a good cause. I am excited to see the works of this nonprofit helping so many in the community.
Mayport Elementary is so thankful and appreciative to Hunger Fights for partnering with the community to help provide food for those in need
December 21st, Mayport Elementary's Blessings in a Backpack program was the recipient of 1,750 meals. Employees from the Navy Federal Credit Union NAS Jax and other regional branches gave money to sponsor a half of a table packing at the "Hunger Fights" event in November and specified that the meals be given to Mayport Elementary School. These meal packages of either Mac & Cheese or Beans & Rice will serve 6 people.
I called to thank Gail Sherman, Asst. Manager at the Naval Federal Credit Union NAS Jax and she explained to me how this all came about. She said someone associated with "Hunger Fights" talked to her about how they pack the meals and about the event coming up in November. Ms. Sherman said she was all onboard and touched base with other Navy Federal Credit Union regional branches to see if they would like to join in. They were able to raise enough money to sponsor a half of a table packing and they definitely wanted to benefit military families so they chose Mayport Elementary.
Mayport Elementary has been a part of "Blessings in a Backpack" program for the past nine years. Blessings in a Backpack mobilizes communities, individuals and resources to provide food on the weekends for elementary school children across America who might otherwise go hungry. Each Friday of the school year, thousands of volunteers across the country are sending home a bag of food with children who face hunger over the weekend. For as little as $2.64 a week or $100 for an entire school year, you can provide a hunger-free weekend to a child.
You can go to www.blessingsinabackpack.org or firstcoastblessingsinaback.org for more information.
Thanks Hunger Fights!

I have volunteered at multiple packing events including the annual packing event in November. I was in charge of putting the packed Meals on pallets, I was amazed at the mass production of meals packed In such a small window of time. Hunger Fight is doing an awesome job feeding children and families all over the first coast.
I worked for Duval County School Board and saw first hand children who came to school hungry. I also saw children who would take other children's food at lunch time because they were still hungry. Hunger affects many children from elementary to high school. Hunger Fight provides meals to five Backpack Programs in the First Coast thankfully many are being fed on the weekends, but there are many more that need to be fed. Please volunteer and donate so that many more children can be fed.
Hunger Fight has helped me find away to make a difference in my local community. The founders & supporting cast are attentive, compassionate and completely professional at all times. They helped me realize the power $1 has towards stopping hunger.
Dee Dee from Hunger Fight stopped by my office one day and left a brochure and information on how to build a team and help fight hunger within our community. I gave the information to my CFO and was asked to find out if the associates within the company would participate. I had not been with the company very long so I was a little shy in asking people to volunteer but I did, and they responded with warmth and hearts of caring. The sign up sheet was filled by the end of the day. So, volunteer day came and we all met at the Prime Osbourn building in Jacksonville FL and went to work, the team work, working together without the stress of everyday work pressure was time well spent. We left that day with friendships that did not exist prior. Working together helping other people gave each of us a sense of Thankfulness and warm hearts knowing we made a small contribution to our community. We look forward to participating next year and maybe support two tables. Thank you Hunger Fight for giving us this opportunity.
Thank you Dean for the opportunity to be of service to our community. Bringing our team together and creating a team spirit in service of others has been a huge benefit to our team moral! You guys are amazing in what you are providing and doing for families in need in our area!
Jennifer Wolber
HIghly organized event. Made the most of all the volunteers' time. Many meal packages were prepared. All the materials were staged and a ready to assemble. Fun event for all our employees. I would recommend that our company sponsor this event and participate every year. Very worthwhile.
What an amazing event....an amazing experience...We were so happy to be able to participate in this event this year. Helping Other People Everyday is a motto our company is built on and we are just blessed and happy to give back. Mr. Dean Porter and the entire staff were amazing and we HAD a GREAT DAY!!! It always leaves you with a great sense of community when you can be a part of such a wonderful organization....Can't wait for next year!!!
I was fortunate enough to meet Dean and Sherri at a packing event at our church. I offered my hands and feet for their cause as often as possible, and before we knew it, I was serving as a member of the board of directors. Not one moment of my time working with the staff, board and volunteers alike has been anything but a blessing to each and every person involved. With 40% of the community deemed food insecure or hungry, 29% of those being children, every meal packed is feeding someone right here in our own backyards who might otherwise be without. My time, my money and my continued support can never be enough without the thousands of people who volunteer throughout the year, but there is always a need for more. Join us and let's put an end to hunger in Northeast Florida!
Review from Guidestar
July, 7 ,2016 I went to volunteer for hunger fight. Mrs. Sherry and Mr. Dean are the best. My
experience was amazing. I really think others should go and volunteer not only during events but also when there aren't events.
Hunger Fight, Jacksonville, FL
This is a terrific organization that has just made it out of start-up status. The 2 people who founded and run the organization, Dean & Sherri Porter are the finest people you will ever want to meet. The run the organization on Christian principles and have an ever-growing population of volunteers in Jacksonville. They serve the needs of organizations who educate the hunger challenged by taking the meals that Hunger Fight packs and distributes and couple with nutritional education on what can be served with those meals.
The 2nd Annual Community Outreach event at the Prime Osborne Center in November 2015 was an amazingly successful, well organized and well run event in which some 700,000 meals were packaged in 6 hours. Tables and tables of people, working together, having fun and helping others by packaging meals to be distributed to those in need.
The two founding principals are amazing. They never ask anyone to do anything they wouldn't do themselves. They are always the very last to leave any event... literally turning out the lights after they are done and everyone else has gone home. At Everbank field in the fall of 2015 they turned out the lights after every eveant and after working 11 or 12 hours non-stop to raise money for this cause. I know because I left after 10 hours some days and they were still there.
With over a million meals distributed, Hunger Fight is one of the fastest growing charity movements in the Jacksonville area. I appreciate that their process for packing nutritious, easy-to-make meals is streamlined for the volunteers. Means there are few logistics for sponsoring organizations or volunteers to have to worry about. This leads to the greatest amount of meal packaging productivity and fellowship.
Hunger Fight, Inc., is a wonderful organization. We hear about hunger in other countries but we forget that there are those who go hungry right here in the United States. Hunger Fight, Inc. is working diligently to bridge the gap here in North Florida. National organizations have huge marketing budgets and tons of volunteers. Anyone interested in volunteering on a local level should definitely make Hunger Fight, Inc. a priority. It is also a great team building exercise for organizations that will not only benefit your team but those who don't have enough to eat. What other exercise could be such a win-win? I will continue to volunteer with Hunger Fight, Inc. as long as I am able!
Just a great idea that should have been done years ago. We spend a lot of time trying to help folks in Third World countries. and we should. But when you have a community like ours, where more than 20% of kids experience hunger weekly, something needs to be done right here at home. Way to go, Hunger Fight!
O'Steen VW and Volvo teamed up with Hunger Fight for the 1st annual 'Thanksgiving Community Outreach'. Twelve of our key employees volunteered to package 4,000 meals for those food insecure and hungry in our communitity. We were able to choose local pantries, mission homes and churches in our area where the 4,000 meals would go. After several hours of hearing all of the cheers from hundreds of employees from local businesses as each box was filled with meals, it did not take long to feel like we were all doing something very special by helping others in need. We are looking forward to the 2nd annual event this year with hopes of being apart of packaging 1,000,000 meals!
Sincerely,
Bill Olive,
GM O'steen Volkswagen
This will be the second year that our companies O'Steen VW and Volvo have volunteered for the annual Thanksgiving outreach and the experience was wonderful. The Hunger Fight associates are extremely organized and very helpful in guiding all of the volunteers to produce very efficiently and effectively for this cause. You walked away feeling like a huge difference was made...
Bill Olive,

I have been involved with Hunger Fight for the past 2 1/2 years. I can tell you Sherri & Dean have an efficient, well structured, non-profit organization helping to feed our local children here in N.E. Florida.
Going to the packing events gives you a feeling of unselfish generosity. Working together we have made a difference in the lives of many people.
I was excited to be asked to come help out and volunteer my time for a great cause. Since then I've been able to participate in a packing event where we packaged 20,000 meals in one day. It's also fun being able to go to the Jaguar games and volunteer there. I love the fact that I can be part of hunger fight and give back to my community.
As a past board member this ministry has been a passion to me. I have seen personally how Hunger Fight as impacted the communitty feeding the hungry , thru my church. I will continue to participate where my talents lead me. Please support our cause !
My family and I started Mama Q's Pizza not only to deliver great pizza and food but to also help the community that we live in. Being in the food industry we wanted to give back to the community and help eliminate hunger in our own backyard. That is what turned us towards Hunger Fight they are helping out families in our local community. When I first met Dean we were excited to help because he has such a passion and drive and really wants to make a change and help people. How could you not get behind that?
Hunger Fight is meeting a pressing need in our community. They work with integrity and maximize every dollar donated to their organization. Highly recommended!
Great people with a passion to help other people. When you hear the figures on how many people in NE Florida go hungry each day - it really hits home. Neighbors helping neighbors! There is a wonderful feeling of excitement and enthusiasm at all the pack-outs. Thank you and God Bless.
As a business owner, I was looking for a non-profit organization to donate to, as well as an organization that actually does good for the community and one that has a caring heart for people. I found this in Hunger-Fight. Dean and Sherri have such a passion for their organization and the people they are able to help through this. We help out through our company, as well as have gotten our teenage daughter involved through volunteering. It is a very rewarding experience to be able to help those less-fortunate than us, and since we are truly blessed, we want to be a blessing to others, and are able to do so through Hunger Fight through volunteering in various ways.
My daughter's dance team did a fundraiser through Hunger Fight a year ago. I was blown away with this organization. The girls raised money for a the Hunger Fight "pack-a-thon" then came together as a team to pack 10,000 meals! My son's football team is currently working on the same fundraiser through Hunger Fight. What I love about this is that instead of the money going into the pockets of a fundraising corporation (no offense to those organizations), the funds go to this amazing non-profit that in turn, purchases the ingredients needed to pack 10,000 meals. The boys are not only raising money for their football team, they are helping provide meals to families right here in NE Florida. The life lessons that Dean and Sherri are teaching to these kids is priceless. Thank you, Hunger Fight, for providing such a great fundraising opportunity!
I attended Hunger Fight's 1st Annual Color ME Fed 5k this past March and had a BLAST. I don't normally attend anything the first year as they seldom have their act together however, Hunger Fight was well organized and the run was lots of FUN. They had over 1,100 runners the first year and part of the course was on the river. GREAT JOB!!! Looking forward to next years run.
I have attended similar events with an International humanitarian relief and I have to say Hunger Fight really has their act together. Their passion to help others resonates in everything they do. You will be impressed with their organization. So give them a try and go volunteer for one of their packing events.
If you are looking for a rewarding experience that truly makes a difference in your local community then you need to volunteer for one of Hunger Fight's packing events. The number of lives you will touch is simply amazing.
Before co-founding Hunger Fight, I researched the issue of Food Insecurity and found that Hunger was a very real problem right here in our community. It was not limited to panhandlers or the homeless. It is such a real problem and it often flies under the radar, showing up in families or individuals who do not fit what Americans might imagine after seeing documentaries and pictures in National Geographic. I also learned that Hunger is a thief, not satisfied with simply stealing physical and mental health but robbing people of clarity, purpose and respect. I felt an overwhelming need to take action!
Since kicking off our very first packing event and seeing the difference it made in people's lives and then becoming involved with the various backpack programs and hearing the responses that the children were coming back with about the meals made me realize that this was God's plan for my husband and I. We have been so blessed to have packed over 1 million meals and distribute them back into our community.
I wanted to get my firm as well as my family more involved in helping get food to the hungry in our community. I did a ton of research on non-profits that dealt directly with child hunger and found there were quite a few out there. What separated Hunger Fight, Inc. to me was that they were very organized and active. A lot of the other organizations were very passive in the fight against hunger while Hunger Fight, Inc. was obviously aggressive in the fight, which is appropriate given their name. I sent a brief email to them asking for more information and I almost immediately received a call from a board member. We discussed the organization and I was sold. Without hesitation we became a corporate sponsor and will continue to sponsor this organization as long as they continue the true fight against hunger.
Hunger fight is engaged in the community. They do an incredible job of mobilizing the community to help those who face food in security.
Hunger Fight is incredible. It involves people in giving back more than they are taking in our society. It provides an environment of working together while providing an answer to hunger. It is hands on and enables all involved in being aware of the need for addressing hunger. Kudos to Hunger Fight.
For the past 2 1/2 years I have dedicating my time to Hunger Fight and our mission to help eradicate hunger and food insecurity in NE Florida. With 1 in 6 people and 1 in 4 children affected, hunger is a very real problem in Northeast Florida. Not limited to panhandlers or vagrants as many believe to be the hunger population, when in fact it's someone in the pew next to you at church or a child next to yours in school. I think the biggest hurdle to overcome is educating the general public as to how many in our communities are deemed food insecure and hungry and then getting them to participate in making a difference.
