Mission: Embrace, educate, and empower persons and families with autism
Programs: Edge of autism festival, walk & run - provide a festival type atmosphere where families and individuals affect- ed by autism may attend in a protected environment. Service providers are also in attendance, providing local services to interested parties. Over 1000 individuals participate.
family outreach - connect families with resources through personal contact and social media. 250 individuals.
support meetings- providing monthly support meetings with childcare, as well as access to online group. 35 families served.
sensitive santa - community program designed to increase the quality of life for local families during the holiday season in pa & ny about 600 attend.
halloween event event that allowed children on and off the spectrum to engage with one another and families to connect at local university. 200 individuals served.
volunteer program - in addition to students for autism, ttf last year worked extensively with elizabethtown college students. We trained their link program participants and provided them continual support. Additionally, we work with two of their professors--in their special education and music therapy programs and their students as well. Number of individuals involved: 100.
mother and father specific outings - as the traditional, primary caregiver of the individuals we often have programs aimed at helping moms or maternal caregivers have a small break from the stress often involved in raising a child or children with special needs. We also have separate days for fathers. Number of individuals served in this capacity: 45.
donor development - we strive to maintain active relationships with our strongest donors. We believe it's much easier to maintain our donors than find new ones.
teens and tweens- event geared towards addressing social conditions. It allows tweens and teens to connect with typical peers and siblings around topics and activities shared interest. 20 individuals served.
staff training - training for staff on latest tools and techniques for the autism community.
