Our company has worked together with The Lincoln Center over the past year and a half, as they’ve upgraded their space and surroundings, in order to better serve the community they represent. Their very professional and well rounded staff shows how deeply they care about the youth of today by providing the best possible environment for education and mentoring. We’re proud to play, what some may see as a very small role, in what is ultimately a very large contribution to society.
Our company partnered with The Lincoln Center (TLC) on the implementation of a real estate project to expand TLC’s physical presence in the community. TLC’s commitment to providing student-centered learning space was evident throughout the entire project. Their new school is unlike any other. It’s large, open, colorful, nontraditional design inspires students to create and collaborate in a safe environment. TLC’s new learning space is truly impressive. Working with TLC’s administration team was a pleasure and we hope to collaborate with them again on future projects.
I truly enjoyed talking with the kids and sharing my story and experience. And this organization is a very good thing because its giving kids options where they thought they had none.
The Lincoln Center has been a wonderful partner to our school district. We have used TLC for multiple services including alternative education, school-based staffing, professional development, and grant management. TLC has been instrumental in helping us manage multiple state and federal grants to improve college and career readiness, implement positive behavioral interventions and supports, and reduce school and community violence. TLC has really made a big difference in the lives of our staff, students, and families. I wholeheartedly endorse TLC!
I have worked collaboratively with The Lincoln Center for Family & Youth for many years. First as a direct social worker helping families in crisis. During that time, The Lincoln Center was readily available with creative and helpful employees that were empathic to families in need.
Currently my nonprofit Expressive Path works with The Lincoln Center to provide creative arts opportunities to their students. I am always impressed how their team goes above and beyond to help others. They have grown in size and helped countless families in the community. I highly recommend them!
TLC stands out positively against my last school for many reasons. TLC is a place with a calmer open setting where stress is kept to a minimum instead of a stress inducing environment that feels more like a jail than anything where as in contrast to the bland rooms and white concrete, TLC has an open and more colorful environment that is more pleasing and welcoming.
Also it is just a much safer environment where I don’t feel as if any harm will come my way and if I have any issues there will always be someone to talk to. Additionally, something unique about TLC is the lack of homework, I know this seems like a throw away reason but being able to go home and not bring school stress home while still completing all curriculum as the work is done in school. TLC is a school with way better and more understanding staff, a less stressful education plan and setup, and the ability to talk to anyone at any time to help resolve issues. In conclusion, TLC provides a system that is all in all safer, less stressful, and a better learning experience than the average school can achieve.
Lincoln Center for Family & Youth is a tremendous success story for students and families who need a specialized education plan and for over 50 years they have been serving the community. Their educational programs combine a positive and nurturing social environment with personalized counseling for students who need an alternative to the standard public school system. Lincoln Center was one of the first organizations in the Greater Philadelphia area to address and offer and provide support for middle and high school age students with drug and alcohol education and prevention skills which expanded into the social and mental health challenges for those students. The administrative and education staff are dedicated to their mission and the students they serve. We are proud to have worked with them for over 25 years and speak first hand about the passion they bring to promote and expand their reach to those that need assistance.

I came across The Lincoln Center when searching for help for my 13 year old son who was suffering from severe Depression, Anxiety and PTSD. He was completely refusing to go to school and all the medicines and therapies were not helping. I knew my son needed a therapeutic type school that could put his mental wellbeing first and academics second. Most of the alternate schools in our area are for students with behavior type issues. Being surrounded by negative behaviors from his peers only made things worse for him, so I knew these others schools would not help him. I found The Lincoln Center's Leadership Academy after doing lots of research on the web. We made an appointment to visit the school and immediately knew it was the right fit for him! It was the first time I saw HOPE in my son's eyes in years! And after visiting EVERY alternative school in the area, nothing compared to Lincoln! They offer individual counseling once a week for each student. They have a group counseling session every day. They also have their own off-site Psychiatrist that evaluates your child upon admission to the school and every year there after. They have the cutest therapy dogs that roam the schools daily loving on all the students! They work closely with your child's outside therapists, counselors, psychiatrists, home school district and most importantly the parents! The teachers there are amazing and are all trained in mental illness. The counselors there are very much involved in all of the school day activities and are ALWAYS available to talk to the students! And the staff have amazing communication with the parents WHENEVER it is needed. The school has an open concept layout, which my son loves, since he was always a victim of bullying that was always "never seen" happening! Lincoln was not one of the approved private schools contracted with our district, since at that time it was a fairly new school. But we insisted he go there! Upon the school district visiting the school and learning what Lincoln has to offer students, they signed a contract. My son has been going to Lincoln's Leadership Academy now for almost 4 years. He now goes to school EVERY DAY without a fight. His grades went from D's and F's to A's! He has been able to wean down on his psych. meds and has not needed nearly as much outpatient therapy as before going to Lincoln. His future seems much brighter now. We have peace in our home again. He is able to talk about his traumatic past instead of harboring it. He actual enjoys going to school now and has friends and teachers that "get it"! He is finally HAPPY and has HOPE once again! And so do I! Thank you, Thank you Lincoln!
Finding the Leadership Academy for my son has been a Godsend. He needed more emotional support and a smaller class size than his public school could provide. He is with other students that have similar struggles that he can relate to and feel like apart of something for once. No other alternative school even came close to the amount of group and individual counseling sessions they provide for their students.
When our son Tyler was in need of special education we were fortunate to find the Lincoln Academy! The Lincoln Academy has been a great place to support his education and goals.
From their staff, teachers, counselors and team they have been their from day one! Their Transparency with the School District and ourselves has made this journey one not to share with others!!
I've been able to collaborate with TLC on a number of projects, and what a wonderful organization. Their focus on addressing trauma and trauma-related challenges permeates everything they do, and it shows in the incredible benefit they provide to the clients they serve.
The Lincoln Center for Family & Youth does exceptional work! As someone who has been working with youth for 15+ years, I've never seen an organization provide such impactful programming and support for ALL types of youth. Unfortunately, far too often, youth with challenging backgrounds are forgotten about. We always remember those who have minimal challenges and obstacles to overcome. The assumption is made that they're bad kids. As adults, we forget about how difficult life can be without the proper support to help us navigate through life. We forget that with consistent love and support, youth can truly accomplish what they set their mind too. The Lincoln Center consistently offers that love and support to ensure no child is left behind giving ALL youth the opportunity to fulfill their purpose. Consider any youth lucky if they have the opportunity to work with the wonderful, caring staff at the Lincoln Center.
What a wonderful group of people!
Our company provided professional services to The Lincoln Center as part of developing their new school and administrative office building. From the outset, it was clear that every staff member is deeply committed to the organization, and is ultimately focused on ensuring a safe, rewarding, and quality educational experience for all the students and families who make up The Lincoln Center community. There was a level of care and consderation at all levels that was just so impressive - everyone wants the students to be able to be their best selves and thrive!
Hi there. My story is about my child school contact social worker and think my child was abused by me. After, my case was turn to Dan berg to follow up.
This guy was not just a cool and kind hearted guy. He also loves and care about his family as much as I do.
On the first week we met on second visit he felt deeply my case was not a child abuse case where it might just need help with guidance. Dan was a great listener and care deeply about his passion with his client and experience. He gave me advise to help my kids to learn and behave more.
Also taught me how to ease off when they really don’t want to behave.
We exchanged our life story’s and love to share our thought on family value and how to make our life style better then before.
After we Reach our 6 month time the case was dismissed and Dan visit to us is over.
I told Dan I glad this case is over, but I really don’t mind if he does come back now and then to visit or just to say hi.
Dan definitely kept his end of the bargain.
My family to you!
Thank you very much!!
I have Had a great experience with Dan berg. He was helpful and very accommodating to my needs and schedule. He had been working with me with my case for a couple of months now and has been attentive to everything I’ve asked for help with. It’s been Great to work with him overall he has been awesome!!
After a troubling incident with a gun being drawn in my home near my daughter, my husband and i made a huge mistake of using drugs which in turn led to the involvement of dhs, after losing our daughter we were quickly introduced by our therapist Diana, not only did she help us to the right path of sobriety and to quickly overcome any thoughts of using again, she brought our family back together, my husband and i are best friends again and we are reunited to have our perfect family whole including our 9 year old. The journey didnt end there , Diana has helped get us to our outpatient evaluations on her own time and also has given me enough confidence to be working again. Now at the ending of our rollercoaster journey Diana is helping to move us to a new more safe and clean residents away from the past horrors. And to top it off my daughter is now seeking art therapy through the Lincoln Center to help her overcome her own terrible experience this year has brought us. Thank you so much Diana and Yolanda:)
I came to know the Lincoln Center through my school. I was introduced to the most helpful group of people I have ever known. The two ladies that helped me and continue to help me are extremely knowledgeable and considerate. I am extremely grateful to have them and this organization in my life.
The Lincoln Center provides a wealth of services in Montgomery County, from free in home counseling and art therapy to victims of crime, alternative education, assisting families struggling with parenting, and coaching and counseling in local schools. I admire the dedicated staff and how respectful they are to students and clients.
When I first came into The Lincoln Center I was extremely nervous, but after the first week of being in that environment I knew I was surrounded by great teachers and great counselors, and a principal that really cared about the students there including me. This school really made it easy to be more social because of the open concept and the fact there was not a lot of other kids. The teachers made going to class such an amazing experience day after day. We had electives every Tuesday which was great for me because it was like I had a mini break from all the school work to do classes like music, writing, robotics etc. having group therapy sessions was very helpful because we did activities together and I was able to receive and give feedback to the other students there. We went on field trips once a month or so and I can honestly say I explored more of what’s out in the world in my one year at the Lincoln Center than any other time in my life. Being in this school has greatly contributed to this being the greatest year of my whole life so far.
The Lincoln Center has been a God send for my family! My son had difficulty in the early part of his Senior year of high school and was facing serious consequences at his area school, which could have led to expulsion. We were given a choice to see how he could do by staying at his area school or transfer to TLC to finish out the year. We came for a visit and instantly I knew that this was the place for him. The facility was state-of-the art and had bright colors and cozy work spaces. The staff all took an active interest in our visit and were very friendly. Once my son starting attending the school he was immediately supported and encouraged by the wonderful staff. They went above and beyond to provide transportation to and from school, help him get his school work caught up, accompany him to Dr’s visits, assist him with college applications and overall emotional and educational support. My son just graduated in June of 2018 and was accepted to Rosemont College to pursue a 4 year degree in Accounting. TLC even awarded him with a 4 year scholarship towards his college tuition!
I have no doubt in my mind that the fine folks at TLC were the deciding factor in helping him feel supported, stay focused and set goals for his future. I will always be grateful for the staff at TLC, their commitment to the students and their comprehensive program.
My experience at the TLC Leadership Academy has been great! Everyone is so nice and helpful. In my opinion, I am really feeling well and excelling here. This is a great school and I would recommend this school for other students who need the support of caring staff and counselors. I am looking forward to spending another great year with the staff and students next year!
I like being a student at this school because the teachers address our specific needs and personalize our instruction based on how we learn. The staff members are all very nice and supportive. The Leadership Academy has helped me mature and develop as a young adult and complete my academic coursework. Normally I am not one to like school but enrolling in The Leadership Academy has changed my perception about school drastically. I am now earning better grades, have improved my attendance and will graduate on time
Compared to the other non-traditional facilities we toured TLC was the ONLY place I would ever consider sending my daughter. It's a clean, upbeat and positive learning environment. The teachers are friendly and come up with creative ways to keep the students engaged. They provide individual attention catering to each student's educational needs. They also take the kids on a lot of field trips which my daughter really enjoyed.
Rebecca Walker is my daughter's counselor at the school. She sincerely cares about my daughter and has helped us tremendously over the past 2 years. I don't think she'd be graduating in June without Ms. Walker's support. Thanks for everything Becky!
This organization is so professional and well run. Ever single person is professional, kind and helpful. As I have worked closely with them improving their interior spaces, I have witnessed the depth of commitment and innovation for the community and the families and youth they serve. I would recommend anyone who might need a non-traditional learning facility contact The Lincoln Center. I know you will be impressed. Every child deserves the best chance to excel. TLC will provide the opportunity.
I completed my senior year of high school at The Lincoln Center, and I can not express enough how wonderful my experiences were. Every teacher and staff member are so unbelievably friendly and approachable. Their program and focus points are great for the students. It does not go unnoticed the amount of time and consideration put into acquiring these teachers. I became very close with each and every one, as they truly show care for their students lives as a whole beyond he classroom. I have made connections that I still keep in contact with years upon graduating. I received a bachelor’s degree in finance and management information systems at Temple University’s Fox School of Business after completing my senior year of high school at The Lincoln Center. I was fortunate enough to he offered an opportunity at Vanguard working as a Brokerage Investment Professional and Personal Investor Associate. After beginning my career roughly 6 months ago, I cannot express enough my appreciation for The Lincoln Center. On top of the phenomenal staff and program they have to offer, they additionally offered scholarship awards available to those who were pursing continuing education beyond high school. I was fortunate enough to be one of those students selected to receive this aid. If it were not for The Lincoln Center’s undeniable devotion and support to their students, I can not confidently say that I would be in a similar situation as I am today. For that, I thank you The Lincoln Center.
We adopted our son from a Russian orphanage when he was almost 10 years old. He had a very hard start in life. His high school years were very challenging in many ways. He attended three different schools for parts of 9th, 10th and 11th grades (lots of drama), and dropped out of school for a year. He experienced healing at a rehab place and returned to our town at age 20. We enrolled him at our local public school, which placed him part time into the Lincoln Academy which operated within the walls of our high school. That year was life-changing for our son, giving him hope for his future. The principal and staff of Lincoln were an amazing support to our son and educated and encouraged him in many ways up through his graduation from high school. They also awarded him a college scholarship. We were so proud of him and grateful to Lincoln for their strong support.
The Lincoln Center has helped me with my struggles at school for about a year now, I am now a senior who has goals of graduating and going to college. The Lincoln Center has helped me especially the amount of support you get and how helpful the teachers are. Each individual here has their own personal needs and the school goes above and beyond to try and help everyone to the best of their ability. The councilors are always open to listen and work out any problems there are and are great listeners. All of the staff members bring something different to the school which makes it very unique and a nice place to be.
The Lincoln center changes lives for the better. I could go on and on for days. Mrs. Walker and I still talk frequently 3 yrs after i graduated. Im at work now ot i would say more. Great organization and thank you for all you ha e do e for me and others. You are appreciated.
If it wasn't for the Lincoln center @ PW I probly wouldn't have graduated high school. The Lincoln center made it possible for me to graduate high school which allowed me to attend and graduate the trade school I wanted to attend since freshman year, I am now working in the field I studied and am experiencing great success in my life due to the help and education I received while attending the Lincoln center at pw
Lincoln is an AMAZING non profit organization. Back in high school, The teachers prepared me and helped me get my grades up so that I would be able to walk and graduate with the class of 2014. They’re patient, compassionate, and most of all determined to see each and everyone succeed.
The Lincoln Center helped me to achieve my goal of graduating high school and prepared me for my life outside of school. I use the skills that the counseling staff has taught me in my everyday life, even now. They inspire the students to achieve their dreams and cater to every individual's specific educational needs.
The Lincoln Center helped me so much and it was an amazing program. The therapists were outstanding, and I definitely was able to get the one on one attention that I needed. I never thought I would graduate high school, and with the help of the Lincoln Center I not only graduated but have gotten my life onto the right track and am even attending college! Would definitely recommend this organization to family and friends. The staff are all a bunch of great people as well!
I have worked with the staff at The Lincoln Center for over 3 years in a couple of capacities and have found EVERYONE to be highly committed to their mission and dedicated not only to the Lincoln Center but (more importantly) to the kids they serve.
Quality people all around
Our team at Educators of America recently had the opportunity to collaborate with the faculty and professionals at The Lincoln Center. We were on site to conduct a professional development training on Project Based Learning. Our team was immediately struck by the passion of the teachers, administrators, and extremely welcoming atmosphere. The Lincoln Center is an amazing place and is the best suited atmosphere that our team has come across to serve their target population.
Thank you for your passion and commitment to the service of your community. It's an honor to be a part of your mission to change education.
The Lincoln Center literally gave my daughter the chance she needed to succeed in life. She suffered from severe depression and anxiety and could not handle the regular public school system. She was out more days than she was in and was in jeopardy of having to retake a year of school when we discovered the Lincoln Center. The Lincoln Center's teachers were top notch. Their counselor, Ms. Walker, was amazing! This place allowed Andee the independence she needed to grow in school without judgement. She did so well that she actually got a 4 year, $1000 scholarship for college. During her time at the Lincoln Center she got the confidence to become an EMT and now is getting her degree in Emergency Medicine! I can not thank the Lincoln Center and their staff enough! And I cannot praise the staff at this center enough in making a huge difference in so many young lives!!
