Mission: Sun-Up of Indian River was formed by a group of parents who were concerned about choices in residential, educational, social, recreational and work related services available in their community. They were seeking answers to the question, "What will happen to my son or daughter when I am no longer able to care for them?" They also wanted to provide a campus like environment where others with similar abilities would be located to provide an easy, safe access to friends for socialization and support. They do not want to be isolated but active in the larger community, participating in volunteer opportunities, work, worship and community life in general.
