Programs: Jumpstart is a youth-driven media arts initiative that provides teens opportunities to work alongside artists and technologists to sharpen their multimedia, leadership and critical thinking skills, and to create work that reaches broad audiences - in the media, public sphere and in their own schools and communities. El bibliobandido is a public art literacy project that centers around a story-eating bandit. In 2016, studio rev involved over 300 individuals in storycrafting and paper circuitry workshops.
agent art is an initiative that integrates the creative disciplines and experiences of under-resourced communities to enliven constituency-driven awareness. Through compelling design, well-crafted writing and critical analysis, agent art sparks the public imagination to accelerate change. The careforce is a transmedia public art project, web series and mobile studio (the careforce one) that amplifies the voices of america's fastest growing workforce. In 2016, studio rev reached thousands of individuals in creating and sharing art and know-your-rights tools (dance, paper toolkits, videos).
video slink is a collaboration with ugandan and diasporic artists that seeks to create bold, experimental videos shown in uganda's cinemas and screens in the west. Most ugandans see only imported commercial flicks and thus do not see themselves represented on the screen. So too, many in the west do not know what uganda "looks like. "video slink" fills this void by presenting a strong visual imaginary coupled with a meditation on the act of seeing ourselves through the other.
