Mission: To improve the lives of women and their children both locally and internationally through programs that lead to social and economic empowerment.
Programs: Improve the lives of women and children both domestically and internationally through grants and community outreach programs. A sampling of 16/17 projects include financial support of soroptimist international projects such as global voice which educates girls rescued from child prostitution to become lawyers and prosecutors; direct participation in "dream it/be it"-- an 8-week hands-on project providing career and emotional support for local high school girls; "live your dream" award to provide single mothers with financial support for education; provided 1,004 fabric bags for children's belongings at the local children's receiving home; organized and staffed a holiday craft faire and provided filled stockings for the women and children of women's empowerment; sewed 42 holiday stocking for young adults at the koinonia family services treatement center; provided new undergarments to graduates of the women's empowerment program; and provided six mini-grants to local and international charities.
provide a forum for business and professional women to meet and learn about: issues facing women and children locally and acress the globe; other charitable endeavors and worthy causes; personal developement; and opportunties to design community service/outreach projects to help provide solutions and advance human rights and the status of women. During 16/17, the club held 20 meetings, hosted a conference for local soroptimist clubs and organized six mixers designed for women to meet, become informed and share ideas.
