Causes: Developmentally Disabled Centers, Disabilities, Human Services
Mission: To provide housing, rehabilitation, vocational training and education to individuals who have developmental disabilities.
Programs: Residential: the shadowfax corporation's residential program teaches individuals about living independently in the community. Everything you do in your own home is what our staff are teaching the 90 individuals that reside in one of our 27 "group homes" to do. Our trained staff members take an active and supportive role in the lives of the residents of the home. The individuals living in the homes receive assistance with learning skills, increasing capabilities, and achieving goals that lead toward a more productive life. These skills include personal hygiene care, meal preparation, home maintenance, banking, safety issues and community involvement. Our goal is to have the individuals live as independently as possible, build friendships, pursue their dreams and choose how to spend their time. We all have a sense of belonging in our community and that is what we are teaching the individuals - how to manage living in their own home and within the community.
