Programs: SFIP has two main programs that define the organization:The Core Program serves international professionals in the nonprofit and government sectors. SFIP works with local partners to match and place international professionals for training programs such as nonprofit management, marketing, development, public administration, social work and special education. This program supports nonprofits and government agencies by enhancing staff development and building cultural competency. SFIP partners with hundreds of nonprofits and government agencies to place international professionals for training programs and internship. Through the Core Program, international professionals are placed in organizations and agencies, provided with a home-stay for several months, and encouraged to participant in SFIP's cross-cultural exchange activities and events. SFIP works with the participant and the training site to develop a challenging and mutually rewarding training plan. In addition, each participant is paired with a mentor from their training site who provides ongoing support and evaluation of the participants performance.The Global Partners Program is aimed at international professionals in the nonprofit, private and public sectors. More organizations and businesses are choosing professional exchange programs to increase their opportunity to establish and expand a global network by capitalizing on the cultural know-how of international professionals. The Global Partners Program allows American companies and organizations to pre-selected exchange visitors for training in their companies for up to 18 months. After the applicants have found a training placement, SFIP assists the training sites and the participants by developing a training plan, issuing J-1 visa sponsorship, providing cultural and education activities.
