Mission: The mission of praxis is to stabilize chronically homeless persons with multiple diagnoses, such as hiv/aids, mental health, chemical dependency, and other special needs through clean, safe housing and support services that lead to recovery, stability, and ultimately, independence.
Programs: Praxis housing initiatives, inc. Currently operates four congregate transitional supportive housing programs for individuals diagnosed with aids and hiv, three scatter-site programs that provide quality supportive housing and ancillary services to eligible homeless individuals and families afflicted with aids or hiv, and two newly constructed permanent supportive housing programs for special needs populations that meet ny/ny iii criteria. A total of 695 units are currently operated by praxis housing initiatives, inc. The newly constructed 66 units project, loring place north was completed in june 2017. Fifty of the studios at loring place north are allocated to special needs population that meet ny/ny iii criteria. The remaining units are allocated as community based affordable housing. Loring place north offers wrap around services, i. E. , vocational services, employment assessment, training and placement services, substance abuse counseling and referrals, mental health services and referrals, referrals for medical care, assistance with adherence to medication regimen, nutritional services, permanency planning, assist clients with activities required for daily living, assist clients in obtaining and maintaining ssi/ssd benefits and all other government benefits and services for which clients are eligible.
