The application process was smooth from start to finish. A school administrator told me about the fund, and I am thankful for that (word-of-mouth advertisement). The website was easy to follow for the information needed for eligibility. The questions that I had were answered in a reasonable time, and their response with the result of my application was timely. Thanks to the help from Children’s Scholarship Funds, We were able to send our daughters to Catholic School. The application process was easy and the result very satisfactory for us.
I experienced some difficulties with uploading the required documents. The application upload portal permitted a limited amount of megabytes to be uploaded making it impossible to upload my documents through the portal. I had to resort to faxing the documents and did received confirmation from a representative that the fax was received. Shortly thereafter, I received a phone call that my son was a recipient for the scholarship, which was sent directly to the school. Despite the above mentioned issue, all other aspect of the process went smooth and my son is currently happy at his new school. I am so elated that there are still nonprofits organization that are able to assistance children in obtaining a quality education. The school is excellent and the teaching method is above and beyond. Cortelyou Early Childhood Center is a proven winner when it comes to educating your child and I'm thankful for the Children's Scholarship Fund.

This is such a wonderful, feel good organization. My daughter was in the public school and started showing signs of not wanting to go. We couldn’t figure out why and came to find out that the environment she was in was too overwhelming. We lost sleep over knowing she was struggling and that we couldn’t afford to send her to catholic school which is something we always wanted to do. With that I called St. James The Apostle School in Carmel. They brought it to my attention that I could apply for different scholarships to help pay for the tuition. With the help of the wonderful staff at the school and the wonderful scholarships we were able to send our daughter. This has changed her life!! The minute she stepped into the school she was relieved and so were we! Not only are the teachers and staff amazing but so is the fact that they can also go to church and pray. We now have two daughters in St. James The Apostle School and are so grateful to everyone that made this dream come true!!!!! Thank you!!!!

I have always wondered how I would ever be able to pay for a private school for my girls since public school zoning restrict their access to good/top school out of our zone. With few chatter schools nearby, also made it a huge challenge until I heard about Children Scholarship Fund. With their help I was able to put my children in a private school close to home which was a big relief since I didn't have to worry about travelling far or pay huge tuition. Their generous scholarship helped make it possible to pay for private school.
Children's Scholarship Fund has been with us since my children started Kindergarten in 2010 and 2011. My daughter graduated in June 2019 and is now going to a Catholic High School, my son is following suit and graduating in 2020 and will go, with the help of this scholarship, to the same place. When I think of scholarships, I think long process, lengthy paperwork, and never-ending wait time on the phone to speak with a representative, and complicated essays. When I was first introduced to this scholarship by my sister, I brushed it off thinking it was impossible. When she told me a few days later that she got it, I was shocked. I decided to apply , and lo and behold, I got a scholarship for my children as well. The application process was short, simple, and straight-forward. I got an acceptance letter shortly after. A well-informed representative was always there to answer any and all of my questions and I never had to wait. It was a dream come true for me as I never thought I would be able to afford the school of my dreams. My kids love the school, and they don't want to leave. This is now their third year at the school, and we are all so grateful to Children's Scholarship Fund for granting us this opportunity for a private education. This would definitely have not been possible without it.
A private school of our choice, that teaches the ideals and lessons we believe in, in our neighborhood was always a dream for our daughter and son. Very professional, moreover, communicated sympathetically and looked at circumstances from our perspective. Follow-up was always backed up, or supported by another staff member. I cannot recall when any funding was held up and this over several years. Today are children are excelling in a safe and principle-led school environment. How we wish their approach to problem-solving and solid follow-up were applied to the public school system or the local and governments.

As a parent you want to be able to afford your children the best life has to offer but sometimes its just not in your power to do so. My son had a brain tomorrow in 8th grade at the time my daughter was in 1st grade. To say that times were hard at that point is an understatement. I was contemplating putting my daughter in public school because i wasn't sure i was gonna be able to make the expense of a private education after having to leave my job to take care of my son after surgery. My daughters school contacted me and told me about csf and told me i more than qualified given our situation. Right away i brought in all my documents and filled out the application, i received a letter letting me know that they were covering 75% of my daughters tuition. I was so happy and so relieved. She is now in 6th grade at the same school and they are still helping us. This program is awesome.

My story began with me being very unhappy with the public school that my daughter was attending. I began to search the web for privates schools as I was at a point where I was will to take everything that I had to secure a good education for my daughter. I began search scholarships for school age kids and I stumbled upon Children's Scholarship Fund. I didn't even know a school at the time but I immediately filled out the application. On the site there was a list of schools and one that caught my eye was Manhattan Christian Academy. I applied and felt that any help that I would receive would help tremendously with paying for school for my daughter. My daughter was tested and accepted into the school and I was notified that we did qualify for a scholarship. This is the 2nd year that my daughter is attending the school and it was the best move I could have made for her. Her grades improved drastically. My cousin recommended this school, because the school that she was attending in 3rd grade was not living up to our expectations. She has only been their two months, and she already seems more focused. I have a lot better communication with her teachers, they send me emails and text messages, I can call the school or just in and talk to the teachers. The class sized is small, so the teachers know her a lot better.
All over the world we have organizations making profits without really helping our community going forward.

When one of the teachers told me about Children's Scholarship Fund, that was a big relief for us. Even if so far we don't get a full scholarship, that organization has been helping us a lot.
I am sure they are thousands and thousands, the people who can say the same thing as me.
Me and my family especially our son Agthon-John would like Children's Scholarship Fun to get more help so that they can continue to help more people. They deserve that.

Besides teaching a Kids how to live a life that pleases God by the way they serve him, Education is the best thing that Parents can offer to their children before they close their eyes. However, things are getting tougher and tougher for parents because of economic issues.
While some people are wasting the wealths that they have, others are using them to help others in so many way. Recently, I have discovered a CSF Scholarship Program that help parents like me to alleviate their burdens.
Nowadays, things are not easy for me and my wife altough we are both working. While my 3 now 4 years-old boy was in Pre-K, one of the teachers inform us about Children Scholarship Fund. We applied, and this year while he is in Kindergarten we were able to get a half scholarship.
This non-profit organization officially launched in 1998, by offering 40,000 K-8 scholarships – worth almost $200 million – to low-income families across America. The parents of more than 1.25 million students applied for the four-year scholarships. They are still doing that great job. Both Starters, which are Ted and John unfortunately passed away. But other people with good heart like them keep doing the job.
One thing I want you to know is that: it is also tough for them. Being a non-profit organization, they won't be able to keep doing it, if they don't get more supports for volunteers, donors and interested scholarship seekers. Please, on behalf of them, I am asking you to join them in that tremendous effort to buil a better society while we are giving a good education to our children. On behalf of our kid we one more time say thank you.

Hello my name is Sonia and my daughter is Hailey. We have the privilege to be a part of this scolarship program. As a single mother this scolarship is a blessing to both myself and my daughter. It helps to get her in a very good school which she is doing great. It helps me because I can drop her off at school at an early time and a late pickup to accommodate work. Without this scolarship I absolutely would not be able to get her into the school she is in. Although fairly new to this organization, I am honored to be apart of it. I am currently a parent of a kindergartner who attends a Catholic school, but at first, I did not know if I could afford to send her there. I was informed that I could apply for a scholarship in order to pay a reduced tuition fee and moved forward with the application process from there. When I received the news that I qualified for the tuition reduction through the Children's Scholarship Fund, I was being ecstatic. This scholarship has given me the opportunity to pass the torch on to my daughter in receiving a Catholic school education as I did from 1st to 12th grade.
The experience my family and most importantly my two children have had with this nonprofit scholarship fund has been amazing and something we are very grateful we have the opportunity to be involved in. Without the children's scholarship funds support we would not be able to send our children to the institutions they are attending. The Children's scholarship is a good way to get help for your children's tuition. However, the income limits are too high they should be lowered. I am not receiving enough.

If it wasn't for the Children's Scholarship Fund my daughter wouldn't be able to attend a catholic school since Prep - K to present, 8th grade. We are very blessed and eternally greatful for all the economic help that my daughter had received from this AMAZING nonprofit organization.
We live in an area served by an inner- city school district. All of the schools in the district are considered "failing" schools. The middle school and high school have issues with student safety. My daughter is a high honor student who deserves an excellent education, but she is unable to get one at our local public schools. As a single mom, I can't afford the cost of a Catholic school education.
Children's Scholarship Fund has made it possible for my daughter to attend a Carholic school in our area, where she receives an excellent education and is safe and happy. She has excelled in this environment, winning the academic excellence award in the 6th grade, and second place in the science fair. Without Children's Scholarship Fund, she would never had had this opportunity to excel and we are so very thankful for the support of this vital organization.
I am so thanksfull because of generosity of the scholarship fund my son was at private school for kindergarden until now he is in 8 grade, I don't have the money for paid for that cain of school, if you want your child go to a private school apply today, they are a very good person who tried to help you and your family, don't think to much just do it.
My son went to public school for kindergarten, but found the local school too frenetic and busy: I wanted to send him to a smaller, more caring Catholic school, as I am a product of 20+ years of Catholic education and I knew that type of environment would be beneficial to his studies and more in line with his personality. However, the high cost was troubling, especially as I have been out of work for the past 6 years raising my child. I was told about this fund by a friend, applied, and was happy to find out I had received a partial scholarship to the school I wanted to send my son to, making it possible to do so! He has truly blossomed there, he is so excited to share his day with me when he returns home, and he has mentioned on many occasions how much he "loves" his school. I am so grateful for the help the scholarship has made in his life.
The Scholarship Fund has contributed towards my son's education for the pass 4years and I am extremely grateful for their assistance I could not have managed without them. They are great!!! Cover for half of my daughter tuition while in public school she was been hit by students and she was only in kindergarten.. This is a great scholarship fund who helps parents provide a Catholic School education to their children. I am very lucky that I am one of those parents who was able to get assistance for my son to go to the Catholic school we chose and not have to settle for a public school that was not up to standard. The staff are very professional, nice and helpful. When additional information was needed they were able to communicate with me right away and worked on the problem right away to make sure that was getting it all done in a timely fashion. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Children's Scholarship is a great nonprofit that helps low- income parents register their children in Catholic ecducated school allowing them to follow their faith and beliefs.
We are thankful for Children's Scholarship because we are able to send our son to a Catholic school that far exceeded our budget.
As a parent I have been fortunate enough to have this scholarship available for my 9 year old son. We are a catholic family with daughters in college and to call it hard to pay for a private education is an understatement. As a single mom I am so grateful that my 10 year old has been getting assistant from the scholarship program, which has helped my child be in a school where her education is meeting her learning abilities. During the last five years through the scholarship program my daughter has been able to attend one of the top Catholic schools in NY. She is a successful student that is able to meet all her educational requirements from first to fifth grade. My daughter has been blessed to have received partial tuition help from CSF for about 5 years now.
She is currently in the 7th grade and is a dedicated and focused student. She begged me to try to find a way to keep her there when I discussed the possibility of having to send her to another school a few years ago. Needless to say, she has another year to go at this school, and CSF has made that possible for her. I am willing to sacrifice whatever I can to help her stay there and keep up the wonderful work she is doing. I am in awe of the high standards and expectations of her school and the fact that she is handling the demands quite well. The school is a safe "community and family friendly" parish school and I couldn't be happier having her there. My financial situation is tough because I am the only one with a small income, left with my parent's home which I cannot repair, nor sell at the moment due to financial constraints. If it were not for CSF, I would not even have been able to send my daughter to this great Catholic School. Every little bit helps and they have helped me to keep my daughter's education (my number one priority) on track. I've been receiving partial funds towards her tuition, which still leaves me stretched, but does truly help. While it's true that it's up to the student to decide to do well, it sure helps to have a great school nurture that as well. The social and academic aspect of having your child in one place throughout his or her elementary to middle school life is so important to me. Having teachers and friends that you've known since starting school is such a comfort to her as well because it has helped her gain more confidence and come out of herself. The communication between the staff and families is top notch, in my opinion. That being said, I have to say that I am extremely grateful and cannot thank the donors enough for their financial support. Without that , my child may never have experienced this wonderful aspect of school life and what it should feel like for every child! That's not to say that it couldn't happen anywhere else, but in our personal situation right now, this was the best thing that has happened for us. Thank you and God bless you many times over!

I was a single mother faced with the challenges of not having a school that was rated high enough for my son. He had attended a public school in my old neighborhood up to 4th grade. At the time Charter Schools werent popular or even available in the Bronx. I really wanted to give my son a catholic school education but didnt have the budget to support it. Thanks to a neighbor recommending I apply before he graduated 4th grade. Im glad I bit the bullet and decided to go for it. My son is now a Senior in HS and still is able to attend Catholic Schooling because we have this help. We have been so blessed to have this opportunity. I know funds are scarce and am saddened to see so many families not able to get this blessing due to low funds but I pray to one day be able to give back or even my son to give back as he embarks on his Career in the future. In order for our children to attend a Catholic School, we desperately need the help that we used to receive from CSF. In the first few qualifying years, we were receiving monetary benefits for our first child. When our 2nd child attended, we never received any benefits for her, but the last 3 years where both were qualified, we went from receiving something to nothing- and with no correspondence stating such. Each year, we would send our application immediately when we received it. Luckily, our school is helping us out, but that should not be the case. I understand that there are many other families in need, if not more in need that we are, but that doesn't mean that we should go from one amount to absolutely nothing. Instead of any correspondence in regards to why things changed, we received nothing in the mail. And when I tried to send an e-mail, all I got was a quick response saying that we should have heard- yet, there was nothing.
My family benefited from this scholarship from my son's 4th grade till 6th grade.
It was a great experience that had a good outcome on my son's education.

Yes I applied for the scharship for my daughter who's very smart and bright but unfortunately we couldn't afford for her to attend the school near our home which is also a very good safe school. My son who is currently in the 5th grade, has been receiving aid from the Children's Scholarship Fund since Kindergarten. My son is also third generation to attend a Catholic School, and CSF made it all possible!
if had not been for this program my 2 oldest might not have had the opportunity to be in college today. i have a computer science major and a double-major mechanical and biomedical engineer major in my home today. of course not yet graduated but foot and soul is where it should be college. my hats off to all those members who because of them have those 2 boys off where they should be i am a mother who lives in the ghetto and not ashamed i haven't completed anything for myself but i go to bed at night knowing they are getting the means needed to get through life and that alone makes me happy peace of mind. may God continue to give health (physical, mental, spiritual) to those individuals who have given my boys the opportunity that today they are enjoying.
The work that the children's scholarship fund does is incredible. I think it is one of the best and most efficiently run nonprofit organization that is around. I am a mother of two and the help that i get from the organization has enabled my children to attend a very good school of their choice. The concern that they show to us the parents and the welfare of our children is also unbelievable. Teacher suggest us to apply for Children's Scholarship Fund. Thanks so much to Children's Scholarship Fund! They accepted my sister, and helped us cover most of her tuition. Now, my sister have graduated from elementary school last semester. She accepted by a really good public high school in Manhattan. Without the help under Children's Scholarship Fund, none of them would happen to my family.
I am a single mom of 2 children. My daughter went to public school until the 5th grade. Public middle school in my neighborhood was not an option so I worried every night how I would be able to pay for Private education. I went to my daughters school and was presented with the CSF scholarship application. Needless to say, my daughter is in a private school and has exceled beyond my expectations. Without CSF who knows where she would be. I am so grateful for CSF and the help they provide to families in need.

The Children's Scholarship Fund has a simple mission: empowering low-income parents to have meaningful choices in their children's education through partial scholarship awards. The key to the program is that every family pays some of their children's tuition themselves, so students and parents are highly motivated to get the most out of their opportunities. The scholarships are truly a "hand up," rather than a "handout." I am director of the Portland, Oregon partner program, CSF-Portland. We are proud of the achievements of our graduates. I am very blessed to be a recipient of the Children’s Scholarship Fund. I have been receiving the gracious scholarship for 4 years and I’m always very grateful for the opportunity they have granted me and my family. My oldest son, Joel, graduated from St. John’s School in the Bronx and my youngest, David, currently attends and he’s in 3rd grade. They both were very excited to attend a great catholic school that provides structure, discipline, a nurturing/safe environment along with loving administrators/staff members. I strongly believe that children shouldn’t be denied a good education due to limited funds in the household. But, thankfully for the generosity of others we are able to prepare our children for a better tomorrow. That can guarantee the children to expand their education and continue their studies into high school, college, and position them towards their field of interest that can provide them with a good career; A career that can allow them to pay it forward and assist those in need.

I was lucky enough to be part of the team that redesigned the Children's Scholarship Fund website. Getting to work with the wonderful CSF staff was such an eye-opening experience that I decided to quit my ad agency job and start a company that specifically helps nonprofits. Not only is CSF run by some of the nicest people around, but the organization itself achieves amazing results. As the writer for the website, I was constantly impressed by the life-changing services CSF provides to kids and families across the country. CSF is the kind of charity that not everyone knows about; but once you learn about its mission and successes, it's impossible not to be touched.
I have been involved with CSF for several months. It is a very worthwhile charity, run by a very friendly and ambitious team. By providing need-based scholarships while engaging the students' families, CSF ensures a better rate of success for these childen. It has been great fun working with the CSF team and very fulfilling to take part in changing families lives.

The fact that CSF was initially organized and funded to provide scholarships for only 4 years, yet it has funded more than 25,000 scholarships a year for the past 13 years, is a testament to CSF's caring leadership and efficient management, who are among the most savvy, professional, concientious, and hard-working I have encountered in more than 20 years in the not-for-profit industy. They continue to work tirelessly,along with a generous and deeply committed board, to keep kids in schools where they succeed.
Hands-down one of the most important and worthwhile charities with which I have ever had the opportunity to be associated. The Children's Scholarship Fund ("CSF") exists to help our nation's most precious asset - our children - and the most deserving amongst them - inner city children in "broken" schools - by placing them in charter schools they would never be able to afford to break the cycle of poverty and lead "normal" lives. The work of this charity is truly life-changing; for most of these children, CSF represents the one chance they'll get to escape the multigeneration cycle of poverty afflicting their families and neighborhoods. If you ever get the opportunity to attend a CSF event and meet the wonderful children this charity exists to serve, you will come away changed.
CSF is unique in that it pushes for real education reform while helping
actual children today. As a parent, I can't imagine having no choice but
to send my child to a failing inner-city school and I applaud CSF for
its efforts to give all parents, regardless of income, a choice on where
and how their children should be educated. Yes, reformers are trying to
improve our education system, but what about the children who are
currently trapped in terrible schools? By supporting CSF, I know that
I'm helping to move the needle on education reform while helping those
kids right now.
In a time when there are so many underprivlaged children accross the U.S. CSF is there to help change the cycle and make a difference. I'm proud to be associated with them and I think their cause is awesome.

As someone who had the opportunity to attend private school through scholarships, I can truly say that the work that the Children's Scholarship Fund does is life-changing. The right education can fundamentally alter the course of a child's life and the Children's Scholarship Fund empowers families to make the right educational choice for their children. CSF is an extremely large organization and supports the education of thousands of students around the country. At the same time, its programs are very personal - the Board connects with parents and actively involves them in its programs and events. It's a truly unique program and one that I would wholeheartedly recommend.
