Our association (AMA) got in touch with SPCA for the first time in February of this same year. We wrote to them desperately asking for help, facing the emergency situation that the dogs of our country (São Tomé and Principe) are living. Since the first minute they were pro-active, concerned and looking for the best way to help. They trust us to give a us a small grant that allowed us to sterilised 50 animals in São Tomé Island. From a long time, it was the first time that the need of our dogs was listened, finally opening new doors for bigger projects. We can just say thank you for all the help, trust and faith they putted on us and highly recommend the seriousness of SPCA. A special thank you to Haley, that always supported us in a very quick and efficient way!
My name is Christine and this is my story.
I was in and out of jail living on the streets and my last time in jail I got the opportunity to change my life...but I had my 2 dogs and had nowhere for them to go which made it hard to leave the streets. I had someone watching them for the time being but were also trying to keep them and that wasn't going to happen those are MY babies. While in a program someone told me about Pawsitive Recovery so I put my application in and honestly I didn't know what to expect but I couldn't let those people keep my girls. I talked to Serena and she took my case now I had to get my girls back. My good friend was helping me and I found out what motel those people were staying in so I told my friend and he sat outside the motel until he seen them and snagged them out of the parking lot for me and called me so excited thar he had them I was in tears now just getting them to where they needed to go. I thought they were just going to be put in a huge room with a bunch of other dogs in kennels but that's not the case they are put into foster homes with very loving people that actually care for them and give them love. I wanted them to stay together and not be separated because they are mother and daughter and they did stay together. I sent messages all the time asking how much girls are doing and ALWAYS got an Immediate response. They sent me pictures and videos all the time. I knew my girls were alright and I can work on myself to get my life together. Pawsitive Recovery was with me every step of the way and I will forever be with this awesome program. I graduated and got my babies back and it was the best day ever. If it wasn't for this program I would have never gotten my life together I would have stayed on the streets doing my life at ot worst but because of this program I had the chance to work on myself and get my life together. So if your wanting to do the same believe in this program they are absolutely a God send. Your baby(ies) will be loved and cared for to the fullest. I could go on and on about how much this program means to me just trust me Pawsitive Recovery is the best thing I ever did. I will forever hold a special place in my heart for them and will forever be apart of this program.
With all my love to Pawsitive Recovery thank you so much for all you do.
This organization has financially supported our spay/neuter efforts in Costa Rica to prevent overpopulation and improve conditions for the dogs and the cats.
We are so grateful for their continued support year after year.
Thank you from all of us at PAWS- Pets of Aguirre Welfare Shelter based in Quepos, Costa Rica.

I run a dog and cat rescue based in Quepos, Costa Rica. SPCA International has in the last year issued two grants to us to help with our spay and neuter efforts here. Their support is very much appreciated and allows us to spay and neuter many dogs and cats. I have donated to them myself and now I am so proud to have them supporting our work.

We are so pleased with our new partnership! The generous gift of supplies will be used to provide veterinary care during our organization's monthly, free/low-cost veterinary clinics on the Navajo Nation. I was fortunate enough to meet some of the SPCA International team at an animal welfare conference and was delighted that they're just as caring and wonderful in person as I would have imagined. Your generosity is saving lives and we couldn't be more proud to partner with you. Thank you for everything!
I was in addiction about 7 months ago and I was actively looking for a sober living home to be able to clean myself up and I found one but I had my dog coco and of course I couldn’t take her to recovery with me I started looking for places that can help and I stumbled across this one and they were so amazing and super welcoming my coco used to be so timid when I first bought her there but she grew so muchhhh she’s so playful and so happy to be around everyone if it wasn’t for this organization I wouldn’t know what I would have done so thank you so much and I truly recommend!
While deployed to Syria, a feral mama cat brought two babies to my living quarters. I quickly realized that she did not have resources to care for her babies and needed help. I took them in. I fed them and became very attached to them. My wife and I looked into how we could get them home to the US And we found the international SPCA. They acted very quickly when it was time for me to return home. They placed the two cats in a wonderful foster home, got them all the veterinary care they needed and prepared them for travel to the US. After a mandatory quarantine, they arrived home and they have been settling in for the past month and a half. We are thrilled to have them here. They greet me every day at the door when I get home from work and they will forever be a positive memory from my time in Syria
When I made the decision to go to treatment in October 2024, it wasn’t because I was out of options — it was because I finally chose to do it for myself. But even with that clarity, the fear of losing my two dogs almost kept me from going. The person who had promised to care for them backed out, and I was facing the very real possibility of surrendering them to a shelter. That thought broke me. They’re not just pets — they’re my family, and the idea of them being scared, confused, or separated from me was devastating.
Then another patient told me about Pawsative Recovery, and everything changed. Within a week, they found fosters for my two chihuahuas — people who didn’t just care for them, but loved them. For the four months I was in inpatient and sober living, I got weekly updates and pictures that kept me going on the hardest days. Seeing them happy, safe, and cared for reminded me of what I was fighting for.
I remember being sick in bed one day, feeling sorry for myself, and thinking back to one of the first things I bought with my first paycheck while in sober living — an electric blanket. Every time I roasted under it, I’d imagine how excited I was to get my dogs back and how much they were going to love it too. Now, here I am — sober, cuddled up under that same blanket with my babies by my side, filled with so much damn blessing and gratitude. I ended up becoming a house manager, and now I work as the program coordinator at the sober living home. I’m about to celebrate six months sober, and I know that the love and security my dogs received through Pawsative Recovery was a huge part of that. I’m still sober today, and I continue to choose this life — for me, and for them.
We are incredibly grateful to SPCA International for their generous support and unwavering commitment to global animal welfare. Through their veterinary care grant, we were able to provide lifesaving medical treatment, spay/neuter surgeries, and vaccinations to dozens of vulnerable animals in our care. This support came at a critical time and directly improved the health, safety, and adaptability of the animals we serve.
SPCAI's team has been wonderful to work with—responsive, compassionate, and dedicated to making a real difference. Their belief in our mission has strengthened our ability to reach more animals and expand our impact in the community.
We highly recommend SPCA International to anyone seeking to support meaningful, effective, and compassionate animal welfare work around the world. Their programs are not just generous—they are transformative.
Thank you, SPCAI, for being a true ally in our mission to protect and care for animals in need!

Voice of Animal Nepal has been working hard to support welfare activities. Since the establishment of our organization our first donor was SPCA International Since then SPCA International has been supporting us in various animal welfare activities like Spaying and Neutering, Veterinary treatment, Anti Rabies vaccination campaign. SPCA International was one of the most important organizations who helped us for feeding program to our stray dogs at the time pandemic. That was very emotional for us. During pandemic We contacted many organization but all they refused to support. Only SPCA International was there to help us.
Now we are able to construct our own veterinary clinic and temporary for the stray and abandoned animals with the support of SPCA International. SPCA International is one of the organizations who contributed towards veterinary clinic construction in Nepal. Thank you very much SPCA International for your generous support
We found Pawsitive Recovery (an SPCA international company since 2023) when Serena had a booth at a Harley event. She asked if we were interested in becoming fosters for dogs whose pawrents needed to go into recovery. The team is so supportive and accommodating, and the joy and love these dogs bring while they are with us is the most rewarding giving back we have ever experienced. The end is bittersweet, but we know so many people and animals benefit from every dog we give a temporary home to. A++♾️
SPCAi has been an invaluable partner for us at Pet Project Rescue. It's incredibly hard to find funding for spay/neuter in Mexico, despite the massive need across the entire country. SPCAi has made it possible for us to expand our s/n work, preventing thousands of homeless dogs and cats and making the lives of animals already here so much better. We appreciate the support beyond words!
SPCAI has been instrumental in pushing our free, roaming vaccination, spay/neuter and animal welfare education clinics initiative in Uganda to the next level. They have been an invaluable partner, easily accessible, kind and understanding of working on the ground in a developing nation. Thank you for all you do! With love, Uniquely Paws, Ltd.
SPCA International has been an invaluable partner in supporting our efforts to improve the lives of companion animals in Ecuador. They have demonstrated a deep understanding of our country's unique challenges and have been highly receptive to our community veterinary health program, which serves low-income families and their dogs and cats.
The grant application process is straightforward and transparent, with clear reporting requirements that make it easy to track how donations are being used.
On behalf of Terranimal and the animals we serve in Ecuador, we extend our heartfelt thanks to SPCA International and its generous donors.

The support that SPCA International has given to our organization has been fundamental to continue helping dogs and cats in some or the poorest areas of Quito, Ecuador. SPCA-I has understood not only economical but social and cultural issues regarding mistreatment and cruelty, therefore, they have supported our work based on education and spay/neuter campaigns.
Every invitation and grand proposal we have sent, has been well received and analyzed by SPCA-I members, they are very serious on their decisions and that is a guarantee about how the funds are going to be used. The process of transferring funds is very transparent and organized.
We are very grateful with SPCA-I and all their support.
The SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) always makes a difference for animals and helps sanctuaries and shelters all around the world.
I have first hand knowledge of the amazing work that Pawsitive Recovery does. This is one of the few organizations in the United States that helps find animals safe places to stay while their owners are receiving vital care for mental health, addiction, or while escaping a domestic violence situation.
Every pet is evaluated individually to make sure they are placed in the correct environment while their pawrents get the help they need so they don't have to worry about their furry companion and can really focus on getting their lives back together. I have seen how grateful the clients are for this essential service and how happy their pets are in their temporary, safe, and stable homes. I hope Pawsitive Recovery continues to get the support they so desperately need to continue this vital work.
Great organization! SPCA International has such a variety of programs that help animals both in the US and all over the world.
We are a very small family organisation that helps strays. It is a rewarding cause when you see animals happy and well fed but it isn't always easy financially. SPCAI has helped us many times through the years. We couldnt be more greateful for their wonderful support, the people working there are kind and patient.
Thank you all, thank you SPCAI.
We are incredibly grateful to SPCA International for their past support of our rescue shelter and all of our rescued dogs. Their compassionate contributions have had a meaningful impact, especially during times of difficulty. In the past, SPCA International has helped provide much-needed resources that allowed us to care for our dogs and improve their overall quality of life. We deeply appreciate SPCA International’s commitment to animal welfare and their dedication to shelters like ours worldwide.
We are very grateful to SPCA International for their support. Thanks to their partnership, Lanta Animal Welfare has been able to provide essential medical care for numerous cats and dogs in need, many of whom would not have had access to life-saving treatment without this support.

On Behalf of Lanta Animal Welfare, we are so proud to be supported by SPCA international. Thanks to them, during the peak of Covid pandemic we were able to continue providing life-saving medical treatment for the growing numbers of sick and injured dogs and cats. In October 2019 Corazones Gatunos shelter opened its doors to rescue stray cats from the streets of Lima, Peru. Since the very beginning SPCA International has been at our side giving us economic and moral support.

Administration of the biggest Ukrainian animal Shelter "Sirius" is taking the opportunity to show our respect to SPCA. Thank you for your involved and proactive position concerning the stray and abandoned animals in Ukraine.
The situation in the animal shelter Sirius has always been difficult, as the problem of homeless animals has not been solved in Ukraine. During the cruel war the situation got even worse. When the shelter was in Russian occupation, the infrastructure of the shelter and all the enclosures were severely damaged - day after day of artillery shooting and detonations have scared the dogs, who in stress and panic tried to escape and destroyed enclosures (which were already also not new). The enclosures were repaired where possible, but the overall condition is very poor. Animals are brought from war zones and there is nowhere to place them. That is why we try to find charitable organization, people who care about the fate of animals. And such an organization is SPCA which helped to reconstruct some old enclosures for our animals. It means comfort for our animals, which are not injured and do not run out of the enclosures. Due to the active war actions, we would like to place more animals with good families, so animal adoption depends on the appearance of the shelter. New enclosures are also comfortable working conditions for shelter staff and volunteers who want to help the shelter. Therefore, during the war you provide great support, for which we are very grateful. All team of Sirius and all the residents of shelter are deeply thankful to SPCA for hearing our call for help. We all in Ukraine are living in scary times. Our animals won't survive without our help and without kindness and support which SPCA has shown us. Thank you!
We at Resgate Animal Rio are immensely grateful for the partnership and trust established with SPCA. The implementation of the Ethical Cat Management Project in the city of Canos, RS, Brazil was only possible thanks to the subsidy received from the SPCA. Over a period of 10 days, we applied the CER protocol (capture, sterilization and return) to 47 animals that without this resource would be reproducing and having their well-being compromised. Action by Resgate Animal Rio in partnership with SPCA promoted quality of life for animals and well-being for all.
We are incredibly grateful for SPCA International`s partnership and support. Their contribution not only sustains our programs but also inspires hope and positive change for the animals and people we serve. SPCA International truly exemplifies what it means to be a great nonprofit organization, and we wholeheartedly recommend and applaud their efforts.

Our Neutering campaign from 23rd of April till 28th of April
From April 23 to 28 it was busy at the Δήμος Ανατολικής Σάμου - Municipality of Eastern Samos clinic. A huge number of people kept their appointment and brought cats to be sterilized or neutered. Fortunately, there was an extension of the building in the form of a beautiful tent (thanks to the vice mayor Αντώνης Καραμηνάς , who is responsible for the stray animals), so that we could safely allow the enormous number of animals to recover from their anesthesia. In total, 245 cats have been on the table. As it is for stray cats, mostly the first and last opportunity to see a veterinary, we make a total health check, and we try to solve all their problems to give them a better and longer life. That means a lot of dentistry work, ear amputations (on white eared cats), and also one eye removal. Many wounds and ears have been cleaned as well. We can say that this has been a very successful project. Our thanks go out to everyone who has worked selflessly to make this happen: Andrea, Max, Andy, Quas, Marieke, Gabriele, Stella and Manuela, thank you for your tireless efforts. It was a joy to do this together! And our biggest Thank you goes to SPCAI which made this program possible.
We are extremely grateful to SPCA for helping us to bring our dog, little Yorkie Jessica, to United States. We are refugees from Ukraine. Bali has large numbers of free-roaming dogs, both owned and unowned, breeding uncontrollably and indiscriminately. With many people struggling to provide for their families, dogs and puppies are often left to fend for themselves, and sadly, many die from malnutrition, rabies, parvovirus and distemper, and roadside accidents. SPCAI provided us with a much needed grant which allowed us to provide spay-neutering, rabies vaccination and general medical treatment for 150 dogs at BAWA Health Days in three Bali regencies. We can't thank SPCAI enough for their efficient and invaluable help.
We want to deeply thank the SPCA, their help has been truly invaluable, especially during the pandemic, when we weren't allowed to do benefit events for many months. Nearly 100 animals in our sanctuary say thank you!
I am thrilled to share my experience with SPCA International, who generously granted our shelter with much-needed funds. Thanks to their support, we were able to not only extend our shelter but also renovate a special area specifically designed for paralyzed dogs. The impact of this project has been truly remarkable. Our shelter "Pawsitive Sanctuary" has been able to help more dogs than ever before, and the paralyzed dogs in our care are now able to live more fulfilling lives. We are incredibly grateful to the SPCA International for their support and generosity, and we look forward to continuing our work together to help animals in need.
Thank you once again to the SPCA International for making this incredible project a reality.
SPCA International funded the Olympic Peninsula Humane Society to support low-cost/subsidized Spay and Neuter surgeries for income-eligible pet owners in the community. Thank you!

SPCA is our huge support. It is much easier to work and achieve your goals if you know you have a support like SPCA. They never let us down. They have done a lot for animals in Serbia.
SPCAI during a flooding/land slide devastations which took place on 28th August, 2022 swiftly stepped in by providing disaster funds to help alleviate the suffering of the seriously affected communities and its animals in Freetown, our country’s first capital.
Through this support, CCA-SL in collaboration with its partners organized a week-long free health care services (vaccination, deworming, dressing of wounds etc.), in the Looking Town and Bormeh/culvert communities, alongside a feeding program for the affected animals. The said exercises benefited over 400 animals including 180 dogs, 50 cats, 50 swine, 50 rabbits, 20m cows and 50 goats.
Over 1000 community, members of the said communities including community elders, youths and school pupils benefited from the awareness raising sessions on animal welfare and responsible pet/animal ownership.

HALO is a small NGO in Limpopo, South Africa, where we offer free veterinary care in the poorest communities. Thanks to the wonderful support of SPCA International we were able to finish the build of our holding facility. We could not have done that without their help!
I founded Dharamsala Animal Rescue (DAR) in India in 2009. If not for the support of SPCA International, we would not be where we are today. DAR has been a recipient of the Shelter Impact Fund since 2015. Their support has not only allowed us to grow our programs each year, but it gives us much needed credibility as a small organization. The team at SPCA International is so easy to work with and it is clear that we all have the same mission in mind, to help animals in need. I cannot thank them enough!
As a person who rescues and shelters cats, I'm simply overawed by the amount of work SPCAI does around the world, and the positive impact this organization has on animal welfare. They have rescued thousands of animals, and supported numerous animal shelters all over the world. These shelters would struggle to keep their doors open without SPCAI's timely help.
The staff at SPCAI are always calm, kind and approachable. That they can be so nice despite the horrors of cruelty to animals they have to witness daily is truly amazing. This is an authentic organization that solely exists to help the animals, and they do so unrelentingly. They provide a model for animal rescue that we can all emulate. Thank you SPCAI for caring, for showing up, and for being a good role model to us all.
SPCAI has generously given several grants to Amigos de Animales, Boquete, Panama in support of our low cost spay and neuter clinics. They have also given us veterinary supplies that have helped to defray the cost of several of the expensive drugs and materials used in our clinics. We greatly appreciate our partnership with SPCAI and admire the work they do around the world.
We are grateful for the beautiful and great work they do, the support they give us, which is so important for our country.
They are people with big hearts who make up SPCAI and we are happy to be part of their program. We have been able to help hundreds of animals with your support, recover and give up for adoption. They have supported us in difficult situations such as hurricanes that have caused so much damage. It's a great program! thank you so much

We are an organisation in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, which tries to protect and take care for the numerous city's stray cat population. Our work is completely voluntary. Our challenges are many. When we heard about SPCAI and the opportunity they offer to subsidise projects like ours, we couldn't believe that. We applied for financial aid to support two of our volunteers who devote themselves day and night to the care of the cats housed in our shelter. We were delighted with the simple, but at the same time highly professional application procedure. Of course we were thrilled to receive their donation. This not only enables us to secure the work of our organisation during a year, but has also boosted our motivation. It has strengthened us in our work and reinforced our commitment to continue rescuing and caring for Tbilisi´s stray cats.

We wrote to SPCA International during the height of the COVID pandemic. We were suffering severe food shortages at our shelter, and the homeless cats were streaming in daily. They responded and gave us a grant. They awarded us another grant this year that has gone so far in helping us purchase important medical equipment and medical supplies. We were able to refurbish one of the rooms in the shelter and turn it into a cosy, sterile nursery. This has increased our chances of taking care of neonates and having them survive into adulthood. SPCAI has such warm and caring people, who are reassuring and have genuine love for all animals, and for the people out there rescuing and sheltering animals. We are so grateful for their help, and we are very proud to be associated with them. Thank you.
Srce za šapu - The Land of Dogs is a shelter in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in a country where only individuals care for abandoned animals, without any support from the government or the community. It is very difficult to survive in such conditions. Help from SPCA International arrived at a moment when we were already at serious risk of not being able to finance the Land of Dogs anymore. This grant meant a lot to us because it helped us overcome the crisis, it gave us strength and hope for survival. It is truly invaluable that organizations like SPCA International exist.
SPCA International's intervention in Animal Welfare protection in Sierra Leone which commenced since 2015 was like mana from heaven because this was the time when Sierra Leonean animals needed assistance most. They have been with us ever since and have not relented in providing the requisite support in a form of disaster/shelter grant support funds and veterinary supply Aide to Sierra Leonean animals through CCA-SL. Their support has not only helped the animals but equally so human beings particularly animal owners God will surely continue helping them through generous donors so that they in turn will help CCA-SL and and other animal welfare organizations/charities across the globe!

SPCA has offered us support in ensuring that dogs in communities we work with are well fed and their health status improved. Caring for working animals(donkeys) has also been made easier for us through the support by SPCA
SPCAI and the Shelter Support Fund helped us stock our Feral Friends pet food pantry, enabling us to feed over 100 free-roaming cats and spay/neuter/vaccinate over 40 cats. It made a huge impact in our community, reducing the cat population humanely and keeping cats out of local shelters.

Partnering with SPCA International was perfect for Roatan Operation Animal Rescue. On the island of Roatan we have a major problem with overpopulation and diseases. Love for Love in Dobrich, Bulgaria is extremely excited about the opportunity to work with an Organization of this scale, as well as for their recognition. As a new shelter partner of SPCA International, we were awarded a grant that will be used for our TNR program and will contribute to the global mission to reduce the population of stray animals, as well as their sufferings. Extremely professional, systematic approach, as well as a clear vision and response towards the problems of animals all over the World, and especially in critical points, where animals and humans need the most support. Thank you all for what you have done and for all that you do for Animals and People across the Globe. We are stronger together and united we can make a difference!
The grant from the ISPCA was a lifeline to our shelter, having suffered from the impact of Covid. The grant enabled us to keep afloat, to keep the few staff we have for the shelter, which meant the shelter animals could still be kept well fed and have access to the compounds. The process was very simple and focussed on the animals. Thank you so much ISPCA.
SPCAI is one of the GREATEST and most important animal support groups in the world. From our experience we can affirm its excellence and response to any crisis that merits its help for animals in the most disadvantaged and critical regions of the planet.

Thank you so much for the help with getting our dogs to Australia. They arrived February 10, 2022 and are now happy and healthy at home. We had some bumps in the road, the cost made it to $20,000, Raissa got so sick that we didn’t think she was going to live, let alone make the trip and Charlie struggled so much in quarantine that he lost 10 lbs. Then, on the 9th day of quarantine the Micklleham facility called and told us Charlie had been flagged a potentially prohibited breed and we could not take him while they tried to figure out what to do with him. After 36 hours they called and said we could pick him up. This was quite the mission and without the SPCA help it would have been much much harder. Things have calmed down, both dogs are healthy and happy and adapting to their new home and Charlie has gained the weight back. Just wanted to say thank you so much for what you guys do!

Hello, we are a military family that had orders to move overseas. Our dog Nova is just another member of our family. The military does cover the cost of moving your furry family member. We left in the middle of summer and had to foster her for 5 months due to high temperatures and trouble finding housing. We heard about the program the SPCA has for giving grants to cover some of the moving costs for military pet family members. The process was easy, the hardest part was making sure we had the timing right to apply. The cost of moving pets overseas has risen over the years where it use to be a few hundred dollars to move one pet it now costs a few thousand dollars. We were approved and received some money to go towards the cost of moving Nova. Thank you SPCA for supporting us. Our family is now complete with Nova here with us.

We had been through financial hardship due to unforseen circumstances and shipping our dog Tessa came out to be very expensive. Our friends told us about the SPCA grant and we decided to go for it. Whenever we move stations the expenses that come with it are pretty expensive not to mention we have another son on the way. We needed to make a lot of big ticket purchases for our new home in Texas and the added cost of shipping Tessa just added on top of it. Whether we had gotten the grant or not wouldn't have changed the outcome of Tessa coming with us. But we ended up getting the grant and we are so thankful that there is something out there for us service members who also have fur family members! Thank you SPCA for helping us with our move!

I work overseas on a remote base site and encountered many animals that don't have food, water or shelter, and for me this is painful to see day in, day out. In my time here, I came across a little kitten that was left by her mom and to fend for herself. Needless to say this broke my heart and I took on the role of providing food, water and shelter. I then made the decision several months later to rescue her to the U.S. I worked with SPCA International with Ms. Lori and Kurdo in order to make this happen and I can't say enough about their professionalism and care of the animals and transporting them safely. I am so thankful for this organization. Now, Li'l Bit is safe and sound and living the life she deserves, all thanks to the wonderful organization that has a heart, SPCA International.

SPCA helped with more than I can ask getting Diego back with us to the states. Hopefully more people discover this great service. Here is Diego back with us happy in his new home.

On behalf of Sintang Orangutan Center, we are so grateful and proud to be supported by SPCA International. Orangutan is one of the 5 great apes on earth (including human) with critically endangered status in Indonesia. Loss of their habitat and illegal trade of them as a pet are two major reason for their endangered status. Our small rehabilitation center take care of 34 orangutans, currently undergoing medical and behavioral rehabilitation. We use the grants to provided better healthier food for the orangutans with organic farming program and help us provide Veterinary Supply Aid for the orangutans we are take care. With your help we are able to offer a better life to our orphan baby and other orangutans. Thank you SPCA International!
We are an animal welfare organization from Kazakhstan. We were desperate and applied to SPCA International Shelter Support Fund Program! We couldn’t believe when received their email about establishment of partnership and a grant! Thank you SPCAI for helping animals around the Globe! We are looking forward to making this World better together!
SPCA international provided my husband and I with a generous grant in order to ship our dogs to our new command. We are a military family who applied to their Operation Military Pets program. They were kind, expedient, and generous throughout his whole process and we can’t thank them enough!

We are so grateful for the assistance from SPCA International! Shipping our Saint Bernard, Teddy, from Hawaii was no easy task. This definitely helped us! Thank you!

I am a volunteer in Cat Shelter Jessica, Belgrade Serbia. We are cooperating with SPCAI for years now and they have helped us many times. Wonderful cooperation and wonderful and kind people.
The SPCAI granted my animal welfare charity a small grant to be disbursed to local community groups in Nepal for street level feedings during the Covid-19 lock downs and to those community groups that had formed with local Vets and Vet Techs to assist in answering emergency calls and critical cases that the large shelters simply could not respond to due to the enormous uptick in abuse, neglect, abandonment of pets, road accidents, disease and starvation. The grant made an enormous impact in areas where animal welfare is severely lacking and where most street animals simply suffer and die due to neglect. The SPCAI has always been prompt in responding and in helping us in Nepal. They ROCK!
Incredible support during a stressful move with the military after one of our dogs was stuck in Germany. SPCA assisted in the extraordinary costs to get our dog to Singapore. Very thankful for their assistance.

I was at my wits end trying to figure out how I was going to pay to have my fur kids shipped from Hawaii to Florida during a pandemic, with limited funds, and one fur baby who is special needs (a lot of medical issues). I was advised by family members to just leave them behind, but I couldn’t. They’re my responsibility, and I’ve had them for 9 and 5 years. In a leap of faith I stumbled across the SPCA grant for assisting military members abroad. I applied, and anxiously waited to hear if we were accepted. I cried when I got the email that we were accepted through phase one, and to continue onto phase two. 2 months after I’ve applied, I just received a cash amount in my PayPal to help pay for my dogs flights over. I can’t thank you enough, this charity allowed my family to stay together, and I’ll never forget you! Mahalo Nui Loa

SPCA International is amazing! We feel honored to receive their support as we prepare our Sanctuary for the upcoming and future fire seasons in California. Their team genuinely cares and wants to help organizations like ours as we work to save the lives of at-risk animals every day. After the fire season we went through last year, we are feeling more confident heading into this fire season thanks to SPCA International's support. We can't say enough good things about them. We are beyond grateful for their assistance!
We are so grateful to SPCA International for their support of our organization. Their generosity helped support the veterinary care of some of our most in-need animals. Their team was helpful and easy to work with.
SPCA International helps make it possible for organizations like ours to save animals in need. We appreciate the grant they provided us with and look forward to continuing to follow their important work globally.
You guys are amazing! Thank you so much for helping Asociatia pentru Protectia Animalelor Mariuta, one of the bigest shelters in Romania. Ms Daniela Popovici, owner and founder of the shelter, and rescuer of thousand of abandoned animals send you blessings and many thanks.
Absolutely amazing organization. They are the reason many military families are able to stay together with their little loves. With no official support elsewhere, the work they are doing is a vital part of any military families permanent change of duty station. Thank you so much for helping our family in time of need. It means so much to so many of us!

SPCA International does wonderful things for pets worldwide, and for us, they helped ensure our furry family member would be able to make the journey with us to the UK. It is going to cost my wife and I almost $5,000 to get our dog Clyde to the UK for a military assignment, and the military doesn't provide a single cent, or any other support, in that process. From the extensive vet paperwork and immunization requirements, to the pet transport costs (which have skyrocketed due to limited carriers taking pets), to the travel costs getting to an airport that will fly Clyde in a reasonable temperature to the UK, and all the customs and processing requirements on the UK side--it is a painful and costly process. The SPCA provided us a grant to help cover some of the costs, and just the gesture of support at a time when we feel we are going it alone despite being required to move, has been an absolutely blessing. We are grateful for their fabulous communication, their offers of kindness and support, and their willingness to help military members in an already stressful move process to make it just a bit easier and ensure our family stays together. 100% impressed and so very grateful for what they are doing!

SPCA is a life line to my organization. They have consistently supported me with projects to help animals globally. With their help we have provided not only food, but also medication and vet care to hundreds of abused, neglected and tortured animals in multiple countries. I cannot say enough about this organization and the people that work for them. They are compassionate and truly understand the needs of struggling rescues like mine. Would highly recommend this most amazing and ethical organization.
SPCA International helped us continue to help the animals. They are always there to assist and support us in making the lives of animals better.
I find it hard to put in to words what the SPCA international means to me because of what they have done for us and our dog Itzy. Through operation Baghdad pups, they admitted her to the SPCA international facility in Erbil once she was old enough to go. She received all of her first vaccines and was monitored by a veterinarian for a few months. After the monitoring period was done, I received the email I had been so eagerly waiting for: she was being flown to NYC where we were able to pick her up two days later. Itsy was very reserved at first, but the moment we introduced her to our two younger daughters, her tail shot straight upright. And that is how it has stayed. She really is a remarkable dog, beautiful, brave, sweet, calm, intelligent, loyal, playful- her life was worth saving. And I cannot thank the SPCA international enough for getting her safely back home to us. You can tell she was well cared for while in their hands by her demeanor (quick to open back up), her beautiful white fur coat, clear eyes/skin, even perfectly trimmed nails! The only sad part is that I can tell Itsy misses some of her litter mates that were rescued at the same time. But we try our best to make up for that by including her in our human family in all possible ways and arranging play dates with my parent’s 4 year old lab. This whole process, simply amazing.
Our rescue in the Dominican Republic was so extremely excited to be working for the first time with SPCA International on a partnership for spaying needy street dogs and cats as well as those owned by poor locals over the last month. Two mobile clinics were performed with the financial support of SPCA International resulting in thousands of fewer unwanted puppies and kittens being born on the island. They made everything seamless and we truly thank them for their support!
The SPCAs Operation Military Pets has been a tremendous help. I can’t put into words how grateful I am of their generosity and significant help. Bringing our pets with us overseas was an easy decision to make. We knew it would be expensive, but they were our family. However, while being overseas, he had the blessing of growing our family with two children. As amazing as this was, it made shipping the dogs home much harder. Having two children and the burden of spending thousands of dollars to ship our pets home became a chess game of financial management. The SPCA came through with flying colors with their donation to assist our family. The money received didn’t just help with the pet shipping expense, but it helped with ensuring our son and daughter were not without due to saving for such a big expense. I can’t thank the SPCA enough.

Being in the military, you travel the world. While they will cover the costs of your two legged family, your four legged family isn’t. The cost to transport our pets was close to $8,000. On top of that we gotta find houses and purchase 110v appliances....prices add up quickly. Thankfully there are organizations such as this one to help and reduce the costs and stress. Our family will be forever thankful to SPCA International

SPCA is an exemplary organization for animal welfare. They have been a huge help to our dog rescue organization after we suffered much turmoil last year due to the lockdown. They came to our rescue and gave us an emergency grant when we desperately needed food and medical supplies. They have also gone above and beyond by helping us to finish vital construction work in order for us to help rescue more animals. They have contributed to significantly help us create one of the best animal shelters in China. True angels for animals and communication has always efficient, professional and excellent in every way.
SPCA is a great organization to collaborate and work with. On behalf of everyone at Lucky Animal Protection Shelter (LAPS), especially the animals, we thank SPCA for their compassion and support.
There is a huge problem with stray and feral dogs in KPK province and in Peshawar in particular where LAPS is located.
Rabies is endemic in dogs and every year there are a number of people who die from the bites of rabid dogs. There are also no rescue or emergency services available in the entire city and province for injured and abandoned dogs.
Animal abuse is rampant and the social and cultural environment and attitudes also cause immense cruelty and suffering for these dogs at the hands of local population on the street.
LAPS is the first and only registered dog rescue & animal protection shelter in KPK province.
We needed help to support our mission to curb stray dog overpopulation by spaying, neutering and vaccinating the animals and SPCA was right there to assist us. They are truly a blessing!
SPCA´s grants have been fundamental to continue our work in Venezuela in such challenging times. Their continued support has allowed us to help over 5,000 animals every year and we are extremely grateful for this.
Wow! We are very impressed and thankful for SPCA International. They just gave the Humane Society of the BVI (British Virgin Islands) a grant for helping our abandoned and unwanted animals in our shelter with our spaying and neutering program. This is a very important program of our shelter to make sure our islands do not get more unwanted puppies and kittens. They have been super easy to work with and we are very impressed with all they do for organizations worldwide that need help. Thank you so much and wagging tails from our furry friends. http://www.bvihumanesociety.org/
I want to say a big THANK YOU to SPCA. With their help, we covered the medical cost for more than 30 animals in Armenia and saved many lives. Also, I would like to add that they shared their knowledge and were open to hearing from our experience.

I have heard of Spcai since the big flood in Thailand some 10 years ago. They have helped so many hundredds of dogs whilst they were here. After they left, they were still helping from afar. This organisation really cares from their hearts. Now, I Soot Liang Woo founder of Furget Me Not Thailand has a shelter of 220 dogs, SPcaI helped fund drilling to obtain natural earth water, a roof for shelter and help rehome so many dogs including a beautiful handicapped called Beeps, Thank you so much for caring for the dogs.
SPCA international has helped me, and many other military families, ensure the safe transport of our beloved fur-friends all over the world. Military service is tough, and my dogs have helped me through it. A decade of service, 4 international moves, and the SPCA has been there the whole way! I’m so grateful for the incredible work they do!

We cannot thank this amazing organization enough! Our Shelter in Osijek, Croatia was really affected by the aftermaths of COVID-19 pandemic and I really don't know how would we be able to continue our work without this vital support from SPCA. We and our dogs are more than grateful for their help!
SPCA International have supported stray cats and dogs in the Philippines thru CARA Welfare Phils. We at CARA are very grateful for all the monetary and in-kind donations you sent us for the past years. This organization and its staff are awesome.
SPCA International is an amazing organization that helps fund shelters worldwide.
Through their Grants Program they have been an integral part of our Winter Shelter Campaign which started off as a piece of land and now houses over 1000 animals. They have been working with us for 2 years now and have helped us build sustainable infrastructure on this land to house abandoned and abused animals of Serbia. Through the COVID crisis they granted us emergency funding and now have partnered with us to continue in the future. They believe in our Mission and Vision and we cannot be more grateful. They are a blessing.

My name is Alexandra Sava and I am founder and volunteer of Sava's Safe Haven.
Sava's Safe Haven is a registered charity, working closely with the local community to offer education on how to care for their animals and basic medical care including spay and neuter surgery for those who cannot afford it.
Thanks to SPCA International and their effrots to help WorldWide charities that fight for animal welfare and rights, we are able to offer a better life to homeless animals in Romania, but also to animals from poor communities afected of poor veterinary services, lack of funds and education.
We are lucky to be helped by SPCA International since 2016, with grants that allowed us to spay animals, improve the living conditions from our shelter animals and educate people from our area about animal welfare and needs.
Thanks to SPCA International we improved the shelter conditions, create a brand new quarantine room and a veterinary room inside shelter.
My name is Dana and I represent ROLDA, a charity established 15 years ago, dedicated to help abused, neglected homeless animals in one of the poorest regions of Romania.
2.5 million strays are estimated to wander across Romania, exposed to car accidents, hunger, abuses and diseases. Working to help these animals is not easy, due to poverty, lack of education and also dog mafia which starts from public shelters (funded from public money) and continues beyond that. Helping animals in Romania is an overwhelming task and it takes every big heart person to join our efforts to reach as many animals as possible. Finding people to constantly support a project in Romania is not easy because the Global need is massive and because Romania doesn't seem to be a top priority for large charities from which everyone would expect the support to come. There are moments when we desperately seek new sources to fund our work and many times, we struggle, we are rejected, frustrated ...but that only pushes our imagination, ambition even harder because we promise these animals to never fail them. And we keep all our promises!
A year ago, we came across SPCAI website and we sent a grant enquiry. We knew they are big and our history in trying to work with big charities didn't give us too much hopes, honestly. When I received almost immediately a positive answer, I thought I was dreaming. When I started to communicate with the team, I discovered amazing people who do more and talk less. And that's a big reason why I think SPCAI will become a even greater charity because humanity, empathy, modesty, loyalty and authenticity which define them, are so rare these days. ROLDA isn't probably the biggest partner SPCAI has but I hope it will be one that is going to stay for as long as we all will feel like we make a real difference for animals that need us the most! Big thanks go to amazing Lori, a magician who is able to fuel you with positive energy instantly, even in your worst days; big thanks also go to Meredith and the whole SPCAI team from all of us, here in Romania.
Thank you SPCAI for your help in transporting our dog Oscar from Texas to Germany. You made this challenging process for us a lot less stressful. We will always be grateful and appreciate your generosity.

In a time of emergency, our shelter ANIMAL LOVE in Costa Rica left without financial support due to the COVID-19.
In this difficult period, SPCA International helped us with a grant that paid 65 dogs and cats veterinary bills. All we can say for the serious and warm attitude followed by immediate action is “THANK YOU, SPCA”.
Absolutely amazing organization. When we first applied I thought it was close to a zero perfect chance we would get assistance moving our boy overseas, but unlike almost every other organization that I’ve had contact with, the SPCA workers and foundation made the process very simple and easy. Every cent helps when costs of shipping pets borders on $8,000 total, so we are 100% grateful for help they provided.

There are not enough words I can use to fully express my great appreciation for SPCA. My family and I have been gifted twice with the SPCA grant to move our pets overseas. This year, COVID has had a severe impact on the cost of pet travel. The cost completely exceeded what we could afford. The SPCA grant offered us the help we needed to help keep our fur babies with us. They were going to stay with us regardless, but we didn't have to go into debt doing it. My family and I are forever grateful for the SPCA team.

The grant from the SPCA International was a “lifeline” to help us continue our mission of protecting animals in Putnam County, NY from cruelty. In addition to sustaining our daily operations (telephone/internet/heat/gasoline/ insurance/etc.), it allowed us to upgrade our systems of maintaining records and reporting to the courts through an updated reporting program which included the purchase of a server/software/etc. without which we would have difficulty handling the caseload of calls, arrests and warnings we process on a daily basis. Without the grant, we would have our daily activities slow to almost a halt.
They are truly a godsend and we look forward to partnering with them for years to come.
We are PCSing to the UK during COVID!!! This grant really helped to alleviate some of the financial burden and stress of this limited- notice, overseas move. We are forever grateful!!! Thank you!

SPCA INTERNATIONAL: This is a FIRST CLASS organisation. We have only the best intentions to assure any Partner, Patron, Sponsor and Fund Raiser to help this meaningful Non-Profit. We were in a desperate situation because of Covid-19 (our contributions locally were devastated and at an all-time low). The Grant we received from SPCA International was a significant help to the wellbeing our Animals in Lithuania. We are honoured to be part of this International Family - who benefits and works tirelessly to help distressed and homeless Pets.
We could not have been happier with our experience with SPCA international. After loosing our 13 year old Boxer in June we were not sure when we would be ready to welcome another dog into our family. My husband fell in love with Dayrik overseas at work, he said he could not possibly leave him behind after bonding with him knowing how well we could take care of him here at home. The process was very easy, the communication from SPCA was amazing, the staff were friendly and prompt in responding our questions. We are so happy to finally have our baby boy home. Thank you all so much for helping us bring Dayrik home!
From day one, SPCA international was extraordinarily helpful and kind to us. They helped us get our cat Kiki to the states from Iraq while during that month, missiles had been hitting near our bases, all over Iraq. I was scared because of the unrest, we may not be able to get her out. Then the Coronavirus hit and Kiki had to stay at her foster for months until it was safe to get her on a plane. I can’t tell you how much their stay helped us. We love them so much and recommend them to anyone wanting to adopt a pet when they’re stationed over seas. Thank you again SPCA International for everything you did! We highly recommend them! Please consider donations to this fine organization!
My son is a United States Marine Embassy Security Guard and was stationed overseas in the Pacific Rim in 2019-2020. Two kittens, only days old and quite near death, were found on the grounds and brought inside to be cared for. Although there are restrictions on pets in a military compound, these two little ones were named, loved and nursed back to health by the Marines before being placed at a no-kill shelter in the local area. Little "Ron" and little "Josiah" were socialized and well-cared for at the shelter, until they could be shipped home to the USA to be with their Marine family. COVID hit at about that time and delayed the process of bringing them both home, until December 1st, 2020. The SPCA International never gave up and was instrumental in planning and escorting these two fur-babies home from half-way around the world! They escorted them directly to Los Angeles and then onto Denver, Colorado. A 72 hour journey that ultimately landed them both in their new mountain 'forever' home...and yes, they did recognize their Marine-dad right away! They arrived safe & sound in a crystal-clean crate with soft fleecy padding inside, food/water and all of their identification and safety protocols in place. The SPCA ensured that they were immunized, chipped and neutered before making their trip. They are none the worse for wear and were eager to eat a good meal, play with their toys and take naps on their first day home. We can't begin to thank SPCA enough for all that they did to ensure the safe travel of these two all the way home. These two little souls have some incredible good karma! The SPCA looked after every detail of their care and we couldn't be more grateful! The SPCA is making a difference for our military families every day. We thank them, and every SPCA donor, so dearly.
Working with SPCA International has been a wonderful experience. They truly care about animals and have given so much to help us with the needs of animals in our community. We've been hit with not only COVID but also wildfires and have a huge unmet need for vet services in our area, as well as supplies for needy animals. We at Luvable Dog Rescue are so grateful and thankful for the help!
The pandemic hit us and we were no longer able to set up offsite spay/neuter clinics without infringing the government’s sanitary decrees. Many people lost their jobs and as a consequence, an issue at our Panama City spay clinic arose: a large percentage of people could not contribute or make a partial contribution. With the support of SPCAI we continued to spay/neuter and over 11 thousand animals were fixed during this time of crisis. Thank you SPCAI for the continued support to help the animals.
After finding out that there wasn’t a spot for our dog on our flight to Japan we panicked a bit. Our dog is like one of our children so we knew we had to figure out a way to get our pup with us. After much research and finding out the big hit it is to use a pet shipper, we started researching grants for military members. We were so happy to see that SPCA offers one. They make the process very easy. Their financial help was a big blessing to helping us to get a dog here with us!

As a military person who has to move and relocate our pets the SPCA has been an invaluable resource. We had to move on orders from Hawaii to Florida during the COVID pandemic. The airlines which were flying jumbo planes to and from Hawaii the year before had all moved to smaller planes in response to lower passenger travel. Unfortunately, we have a very big dog (a Great Dane) and the crate was too large to fit on any commercial aircraft leaving Hawaii. We ended up having to ship our pets via an air cargo plane and then driven across from California to Florida, a ridiculously expensive endeavor. The SPCA assisted us with a grant to help offset some of the cost of relocating our pets; and this was the second time in 6 years they had done this for us. I can not speak highly about the great work they do not only for animals but for the men and women of the armed forces. This is the only program I know of that helps service members keep their pets by providing financial assistance as they move from one duty station to another. Thank you again!

I was stationed overseas, and started taking care of a neglected animal that relied heavily on me feeding her. I formed a bond with her, and knew I needed to bring her home with me, but had no idea where to start, or if it was even possible to get an animal home. I began to google and search for avenues to possibly get her home. One name that kept coming up was Operation Baghdad Pups. I was not entirely optimistic that I would receive any help, as it was a large undertaking, and did not even know if I would qualify for the program. I submitted my application, and to my excitement, I was accepted. I could not have been more ecstatic. Lori and her team guided me through the entire process, and soon I was home with my dog "Baby". I want to thank the entire team at ASPCA, and let them know that "Baby" would very likely not be alive without their support today. I remain indebted and grateful to everyone involved with the organization. Thank you ASPCA!
OPERATIPON BAGHDAD PUPS
Operation Baghdad Pups is a phenomenal program.
When you’re deployed away from home you try not to get attached to the local animals that you encounter. In this case a litter of 5 black kittens stole everyone’s heart at a compound in Iraq.
Unless something was done, these kittens were facing an uncertain future with a meager outcome. Fortunately, we learned of Operation Baghdad Pups.
Operation Baghdad Pups is led by Lori Kalef. She is an amazing coordinator that went above and beyond our expectations. We had no idea how to save these kittens but Lori did. Lori is very compassionate and once engaged, she made the process easier than we thought possible.
The kittens foster parents provided the information for transportation and destination. The kittens were promptly collected and taken to a local veterinarian for testing, vaccines, and bathing. They were placed into quarantine for preparation to be transported stateside.
Kurdo Mustafa kept us posted every step of the way. He sent updates, pictures and videos regularly. Dr. Hemin provided superior health care. We knew the kittens were in good hands.
Unfortunately a road bump occurred. COVID-19. During transport, the kittens were delayed in Jordan as the world learned to deal with a pandemic. We continued to receive regular updates from Kurdo. After several weeks, the kittens were cleared to head stateside
Ala Shehadeh and Abia Cartagena provided the coordination efforts to get the kittens to stateside airports. It was seamlessly coordinated. The kittens were picked up at the airport, brought to their new homes, and now are sharing the comfort of loving families. Happy endings all around!!!
I was so blessed to have been selected by SPCAI to help us help animals in need in Kuwait.
We struggled here trying to save animals without getting any local attention or support. So getting recognized & appreciated & supported by an international group was a very encouraging step for us to keep doing what we do.
SPCAI does amazing work with such amazing spirit.
They have granted us 3000 USD to help us with hospital bills being treated in hospitals.
We highly appreciate their trust & follow up to our mission & pray this partnership keeps going stronger & stronger towards the benefit of animals in need. I have e attached pictures of 4 rescues we saved through out the passed few years. They have hashtags for people who wish to follow their stories.
#saving_maximus saved from a horrible accident in Kuwait where his family died. He survived but unfortunately can't walk anymore. He's now living & loving life in The Netherlands.
#saving_robin_kareq8 rescued after being shot between the eyes with a fishing spear. After so much work Now happily adopted in the US, NJ.
#saving_brutus_kareq8 saved from a very crucial family. Now happily adopted in Canada
#saving_buttercup_kareq8 shot & left paralyzed. Now happily adopted in the US. WA.
Those are some examples of what we do here. You can see more of our rescues on our website www.kareq8.org
This is is a wonderful organization, SPCA International play part to make our work possible at TAPO-Tanzania Animals Protection Organization. In many years through shelter support grant on donkey mobile clinic, dogs and cats rabies mass vaccination, providing dog food during disaster, helping our team to attend international animal welfare meetings and conferences and building dog shelter within our animal sanctuary area. God bless all wonderful team at SPCA International.
All About Animals Rescue is so very grateful to the giving people at SPCA International. We rescue cats and dogs, but 85% of our rescues are cats. Cat food and litter are the last items seemingly to be donated and with COVID 19 we have been desperate for support to feed our babies. These folks graciously provided us with a generous grant so that we could feed our felines! THANK YOU!!
Wow, what a great organization. SPCA-I liberated Shadow from Iraq and he is now a very happy pup. More importantly, he made my 5 year old the happiest kid in the world. This program is just unbelievable! The process was so easy. I formed a bond with Shadow and could not imagine leaving him here in Iraq to fend for himself and when I contacted SPCA-I they were more than happy to assist. I received constant updates on his status and the process and knew when he would be arriving. It took about 45 days from start to finish and in the end he is in our loving home being spoiled, where he belongs. I highly recommend SPCA-I and will be supporting them in the future. Below are some pictures of Shadow in his new home.
I work as a civilian security contractor in support of a US Government project in Iraq. I've worked throughout Afghanistan and Iraq for a period of 7 years and where I currently work there is a large population of "wild, feral, stray" dogs. Given the harsh living environment I've always been amazed by the dogs resourcefulness here, and luckily I've been able to interact with them a good bit and now even more amazed with their temperament. I came across two dogs that immediately caught my attention. Unlike the other feral dogs they had no fear or reservations of approaching me and then I noticed one had a severe injury; likely struck by a vehicle. I took efforts to locate them every day and feed them some scraps unsure of if the injured dog would make it much longer when I heard about the SPCA International and the ability to adopt dogs in country. I reached out via email with some photos and within a matter of hours had received a response that they'd be happy to help. With help from Vector Control on base the two dogs, that were bonded together were house in our on base kennel, and then transported to Erbil for quarantine. There they received treatment from a vet and within approximately 6 weeks were home safe and sound at my house. The travel was done during Covid travel restrictions and I'm sure many hoops had to be jumped through by the SPCAI staff to make this all possible. Both dogs are doing well and our injured pup is under vet care to save his leg and give him the best life possible. All made possible by the SPCAI.
The SPCA supports veterans and invests in military families with pets. As a military family stationed overseas we were caught in the COVID travel restriction and unable to travel as a family. Our family dog, Giorgi, was unable to travel from Germany back to the USA with us. Moreover, the cost to ship him independently was unbelievably expensive. I heard about this non-profit from other military families stuck in limbo, I checked out the website and qualified for the SPCA International grant for assistance. I was blessed to be selected as a recipient of the grant to help off-set the cost of travel for my dog (cost was almost $2000). After being separated for 3 months, he was able to fly (via a pet shipper) from overseas. Thanks to SPCA International, we are all now under 1 roof as a happy family! Appreciate the support and assistance of this amazing non-profit organization!

This organisation is amazing! They helped get my new family member back home from Iraq. They do so much to help out soldiers and getting pets back home. They are truly a blessing!
Forever thankful for this nonprofit. They helped us financially to get our three fur babies from Alaska to England then England to Las Vegas. The whole process from start to finish was super easy. We recommend every military member with pets to use them.

PCS has been so stressful for my family both mentally and financially. With COVID, there were a lot of travel restrictions where we came from, Alaska. Because of that, we got financially tight but we can’t leave our fur baby behind. With SPCA grant, it has given us great relief and big assistance. I can’t thank you enough for your help! Thank you so much!

It’s hard to put into words how thankful we are to this organisation for helping us financially during our move from England back to the US. The process took a couple months from start to finish but it was simple and they kept us updated on the status of our application the entire way. Moving for work every few years is beyond stressful but the help from them provided much relief. Thank you so much

SPCA International helped me cover some of the cost of shipping my Beagle/Pug mix from Guam to Virginia. From the beginning of the application, to phase 2 and when I was finally approved of funds, the staff at SPCA were extremely polite, kind and understanding of my personal situation. They kept me informed of my status and made me feel important with regards to shipping my dog. I would highly recommend SPCA International to anyone else sending their fur babies across the ocean. Me and my dog are forever grateful for their help.

I am an active duty servicemember, and hurting financially, since I have to transport my dog from overseas back to United States due to military orders. This organization reviewed my situation and help me cover some of the cost associated with pet transport (not funded by military). They are a lifesaver! Helping military families ease financial burden, and in keeping their furbabies. Thank you SPCA!

For those of you questioning where to donate your money, I want to take a few moments of my time to say thank you for looking into SPCA International OMP. The organization helped make our adventurous journey a smoother process.
To all that contribute to the donations so this foundation can operate, I appreciate you helping us stay together as a family. Moving off a small island was one of the most difficult things we had to plan for our family. I cannot thank you enough for keeping SPCA operational. Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us.

It cost us an arm and a leg to move to Australia from Hawaii while active duty military. One of our largest expenses was moving our car, Saul. We are grateful for the SPCA International East application process, communication, and the grant. Although it was not for the whole cost of the expenses, anything is better than nothing. We recommend them to all our friends and family in the military.

I am working in TQ Iraq as a contractor and this little Kitten and his mother came to outside of the gym where I work. Me and another person fed and gave water to them as much as we could. They were both scared at first but after awhile I got the kitten many to trust me and after that he was like my best friend out here. I got to feed him while I worked nights and the other person worked days and fed hm. So we got him and his mother eating good. The mother never became friendly and one day I passed the mother outside and she gave me a meow and pretty much told me her kitten is in my hands now cause she knew we were good people and were gonna help him. It was not easy getting him off base and always kind of had to keep him a secret before Vector people would snatch him up and maybe dispose of him in a bad way maybe. So me and another person got some Marines to take him off base to meet the SPCA Volunteer but the guy never showed up so mission was a failure that time. The marines brought him back and we got ahold of another driver to meet outside base and this time it went smooth. It took a secret mission twice by Marines and ourself to get him out in time before it was too late. We risked our jobs here to get this guy out and it paid off. The whole time the SPCAI was great with helping it all make it happen. Could not have done it without them. Big thanks to Kurdo Mustafa. Manny became so friendly with me he was like my little side kick and never wanted to leave my side when I fed him. He is a special cat and deserves the best care. I myself have decided to adopt him so I know he will have a good life now. Thanks to the Marines and everyone involved that made it happen. It really was a true rescue mission and story worth telling. He will be apart of my family which I have two cats and one is an Afghanistan rescue as well. So they both have a similar story and can relate. We named him Manny so kind of like the base he was rescued at in Iraq called Camp Manion in TQ Iraq
We are your typical military family that was not accepting orders to move to Germany. We, with that, we had to furry family members that were a must for them to come with us. The cost was almost $3000 to get them to us from Maryland to Germany. SPCA International help with some of that cost, and it was a relief. We did have a couple of bumps in the road trying to finish it up, but they were willing to help with us every step along the way.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
The Jenkins Family

Words cannot express how truly grateful we are for SPCA. To think a permanent change of station is stressful, nothing comes close to the stress of shipping our fur baby from the east coast to Guam! Lots of sleepless nights and tears from the thought of rehoming her. Aside from all the hurdles we had to jump through, we really took a financial hit with the price tag to ship our husky. SPCA gave us a boost with our finances and confidence that our whole family WILL stay together. The grant was just enough to help us get by and without it, we would have had to rehome our baby of 6 years. From the very bottom of our hearts, thank you thank you thank you. We will forever be grateful for such an incredible organization.

While deployed overseas I had another Soldier find me and tell me he could hear a puppy crying somewhere back in a hole. While searching the factory I found a wet, dirty, frightened puppy at the bottom of an elevator shaft, crying loudly. I climbed down and got him out, and didn’t really think about the gravity of what I was getting into. I grew attached very quickly, and we kept her hidden while we figured out what to do with her (she was at risk of not surviving if she was discovered).
I contacted Operation Baghdad Pup and they quickly jumped into action to get her out to safety. It was a long journey and many countries and months later, my sweet girl is now home with her new family in America, enjoying tons of play with her sister.
They all go above and beyond and stick to their mission statement. They accomplished what I did not think was possible. Seeing Kelby today and how happy and healthy she is is truly remarkable and I have SPCAI to thank for that. She understands just how good she has it now compared to where she came from and shows her gratitude with the love she provides. The SPCAI was helpful, professional, and efficient throughout the whole process and they truly care about what they are doing. I can not thank them enough for having such an impact on my life, and of course Kelby's life.
I am greatful for the help of the SPCA for assisting me with a grant to helo my oets relocate to South Korea. My family is happy that we are all together! I would never want to leave my pets behind they mean everything to me. I am glad that there are organizations such as ASPCA that help out Service Members. Thank you again!

When a military member is moving, there are all sorts of entitlements and payments to ease the burden on them and their human family, however their pets are left out. In my PCS to Guam it was incredibly difficult to figure out how to get my pets there, at the same time as arrange travel for myself and my very pregnant wife. Additionally the price was incredibly high. The peace of mind that SPCA International gave us by helping answer the question of how are we going to pay for our furry family members to join us, was incredible. Additionally they made the application process easy and were ready to answer questions when we needed. Thank you so much.

I was deployed to Syria, and OBP was able to help me get the puppy I bonded with home. They were more than flexible in helping six others and myself get them out of Syria and on their journey home. Odin just arrived back in NY with my parents before I get back, and I can't stop looking at the smile on his face!
SPCA International is hands-down the most wonderful, compassionate, and efficient organization I have ever had the privilege of using! I found a very malnourished young kitten on my deployment overseas. As soon as he was nursed back to health, I began researching how to get him to the United States after my deployment ended. SPCA International had glowing reviews and was even recommended to be my a few other Service Members. I was put in touch with Lori (the program manager) who could not have been kinder or more helpful! She made the transfer of my buddy back home so easy for both the cat and myself! It was entirely stress free thanks to her, her staff, and CANVET (Doha, Qatar). Everyone handled my cat (and my concerns!) with such kindness and ease. My cat (Amir) arrived safely to the US in perfect heath, clean as a whistle, and HAPPY! After two months of being apart and three long days of travel, he was purring the second I was able to pick him up. Talk about taken care of!! Two other service members I deployed with have dogs en route at this time, and all I have heard from them is how great this organization has been to them already! I'm certain they'll concur with my thoughts (and share their own too!).
SPCA International, Lori, every other wonderful member of this organization... you have far exceeded all of my expectations and will always have a special place in my heart for all that you do!! THANK YOU!
Love, Jess and Amir

This is an amazing organization, providing support to military fur babies not provided for by the job! Thank you is not enough. We cannot express the gratitude we have for the SPCA for their assistance in getting our dogs, Parker and Lacey, back to the mainland. Moving is tough, moving every 3-4 years even tougher. Dealing with sudden airline regulation changes (leaving some to abandon their dogs in a country far from home) and increased airlines cost all before moving 8000+ miles away can be overwhelming. But with the assistance and support of organizations such as the SPAC, that burden is significantly lightened and are family is complete! I don’t know where we would be without the SPCA. Thank you again for the bottom of our hearts!

The SPCA was a huge help in getting our big dogs to Guam! We were stationed in Missouri and got orders to move to Guam in May of 2018. What we didn't know at the time was that United Airlines was changing their pet policy for flying animals overseas. We accepted the assignment and got ready for our move. About a month later the policy for United banned large breed dogs over 100lbs (including kennel) to fly to Guam. Our only other option was to ship them cargo through Korean Air. Because of the size of our pups, 75lbs and 120lbs. the cost for their flight one way was $12,000. No that is not an exaggeration, it cost us $12,000 to bring our pets to Guam with no help at all from the military for moving them. We were lucky to receive the SPCA grant! Thank you so much for the help in cost of getting our family to Guam!

Baghdad Pups helped a service member friend of mine relocate the kittens he found and made pets of. SPCAI partners with Baghdad Pups (or the pups are a section of them). Either way, the kittens were retrieved, cared for, fostered, shipped out to Europe and then to New York for our retrieving them, with the help of ARC.
They have so many pets to get overseas, so we had a bit of a wait. But now, ten days after their arrival on the West Coast, the kittens, really, half-grown cats, have integrated with our own cats and are gleefully finding things to get into, destroy, laps to purr on, tables to climb on. Feet to pounce.
I am very glad this service exists and is willing to help our service members keep and protect the pets they make overseas. They do a fantastic job.
The organization is wonderful! We sent in an application for assistance to get our dog shipped from the US to Germany. The process was so easy and they were so kind! The money they provided us helped more than you could imagine. With all the moving and traveling costs that accumulated, shipping our dog added so much more to our budget. And their grant helped burden some of those costs. So grateful!

Im in the Air Force and was stationed in Guam with my family which includes 2 dogs. Guam is not a nice place for dogs. It was time to move to Germany and we needed to ship the dogs but it costs roughly $3000 to ship them and we heard about the SPCA grant for military families. We applied and ended up being approved and the process was so smooth. Our dogs would've faced horrible circumstances in Guam and we'll never forget the generosity of SPCA. It is the only organization that provides support to military pets. Thank you so much for serving the military who is often forgotten about.

SPCA Operation Military Pets in an amazing nonprofit organization. We moved from South Korea to Texas and the timing of our move was right when United Airlines was put under review. They were the cheapest option to fly with pets but they would no longer fly large breed dogs so we were left with Korean Airlines as our only option and had to pay $5000 to bring our animals home. I applied from r the SPCA grant money and we received $1000 for financial assistance to offset the extreme costs. Our animals are family and it was very important for us to bring them home now matter the cost. We are very grateful to have received the grant money.

We are a military family and received a short notice assignment to Germany. Our family dog of 12 years was unable to fly with us because there was no room on the military rotator Flight. We refused to leave her behind and started looking at shipping her out of pocket. The lowest estimate we received was $1200 and other moving expenses were adding up. I found out about the SPCA program from a friend and applied. The process was easy and the money we received helped tremendously. Thanks to the SPCA we were able to have our dog the same day we arrived in Germany and put extra funds towards obtaining a new home in Germany. Thanks for everything!

SPCA generously provided us with ever-so-needed monetary assistance for our recent move overseas. We found out real quick that moving overseas with two dogs (on top of everything else) was quite burdensome and very costly. The prices for all the various things needed (tickets, vet care, paperwork, kennels, transport, etc.) added up very quickly. The grant that SPCA provided helped offset some of our costs exponentially and helped facilitate a much smoother transition for us. The application process was very smooth and not overly difficult. SPCA members were also very communicative on the status of our application throughout the process. Thank you again SPCA for looking out for us and assisting us through a huge transition for our family!

Thank you so much to the SPCA for giving us a grant to help get our 2 cats to our new home in Okinawa,Japan! When my husbands military orders were delayed, we were no longer able to get our cars on the flight with us due to limited space. We had to use a pet transport company which did a great job, but was very expensive. Without assistance from SPCA, we would have struggled to pay off the bill. Thank you so much for helping us keep our cats with us, and for helping other military families stay together with their pets during difficult overseas moves.

SPCA's Operation Military Pets provided me a grant to help with the cost of flying my two dogs to Hawaii. I had a last minute PCS due to a family emergency and only 2 weeks to prepare. Thanks to their great organization, I was able to pay for a private Pet shipping company to organize the flight for both my pups to be relocated with me in Hawaii (Daisy is a bulldog mix and no airline would fly her across the country/across the pacific) instead of being boarded with Friends and family until I was able to save the money for all their shots for early release from quarantine, kennels, and transportation fees.

In 2017 we were informed that our family of 4 plus 2 fur babies would be PCSing to the UK. Nervous and excited we started getting things situated. Little did we know the price and process it takes to get one let alone our two dogs to the UK. (one of the strictest places to take a dog)
Things started to stack up two kennels, chipped, specific Vaccines, customs charges, paying someone to help us, then the plane tickets paying extra for a pet friendly TLF about $4,000 later we arrive in the UK. Our pups are safe and were all here as a family again.
SPCA was amazing the money the helped with made it so we could be together as a family. They helped us with the last little bit we were scrapping to get together they alone took weight off our already heavy shoulders. This nonprofit is a blessing; once were done and back in the states we plan on giving back to this non profit to help other families like ours.
Thank you so much SPCA for keeping helping us keep our family together.

My husband is the US Airforce and was slotted to be stationed in Hawaii. Moving to an overseas location with two dogs is a lot harder than one would think it is! Our large dog pictured Adian is 90lbs and our small dog Colbie is 7lbs. We had to get FAVN tests done, airline crates and look at flights to get our furbabies to move with us. We started to look at the cost of flights for our dogs, the best way to describe it is "sticker shock" feeling! We decided to drive to California (from Louisiana) with our two dogs to make it easier for them, and a little lower cost for pet flights. We applied to SPCA operation military pets in hopes for help in transporting our large dog to Hawaii to help lower the cost. We shared about us and how much our dogs mean to us, we don't have kids these are our "kids". The SPCA operation military pets granted us the monetary help in transporting our dog to Hawaii. They have been in contact to us to know how he has been adjusting etc. We are so thankful and highly recommend SPCA operation military pets for other military families in need. We plan to give back to the community by volunteering with our local SPCA here in Hawaii and also helping with the local humane society.

I simply cannot express how grateful I am for everything the spcai and puppy rescue mission have done in order to bring Sheriff to the U.S. Serving as a Special Forces soldier in the Middle East precluded me from having the ability to keepmand house sheriff with me as we were constantly performing various missions at different locations. However, the amazing people at the Local shelter were kind enough to provide housing and food and allow me to visit sheriff as often as I was able. When it came time to transporting him to the states in order to live with me the organizations were simply amazing and handled all the logistical and financial aspects and for that I will be forever grateful. I have never seen or come across an organization as amazing and generous when it comes to dealing with homeless dogs and I will be forever grateful. I would like to assist and participate in future endeavors with the spcai and puppy rescue mission in order to ensure service members continue to receive the same food fortune and amazing treatment.
This program is extremely wonderful the people who runs the program actually care for the animals and do everything possible to see this through fairly simple process to apply as well
Moving our animals (2 dogs, 3 cats, and a guinea pig) with us from Alaska to Texas was very expensive. While it took a while, the help that we received for our dogs was greatly appreciated and needed. I appreciate all of the help we got and the communication that we recieved throughout the process.

This is the best program ever! Many don't know the cost military families must take on when they are relocated. We have a German shepherd that we love dearly..unfortunately the military doesn't recognize her as part of the family. Therefore, the cost the move her with us to Germany was up to us. After receiving several quotes we were finally quoted right under 2,000 to ship her. We had no savings, and had no idea what to do. I finally came across the SPCA military program. After going over my application I was promptly informed that I was approved for funding. They were able to help us with $500 of the cost, which really helped us alot! Our beautiful Chloe is now in Germany with us...we couldn't be happier!

When I was a soldier in Iraq my patrol happened upon a puppy. Dogs are not treated very well in this part of the world. So we dismounted I grabbed the puppy and we continued on with the mission. The puppy grew through the 3 months while I had him and we grew together. There was almost never a time when we were apart we shared meals and he loved to follow me everywhere. My squad and I named this cute little puppy Hero. I couldn't let Hero live the way dogs here live Hot, hungry and scared of humans. So I went on the internet searching for anyone that could help me get Hero back home. That's when I found SPCA International's program Operation Baghdad Pups. There was a quick application process and then a nervous wait for a response. That's when I met the director of the program and the woman that made it all happen for Hero and I. Every interaction I had with the staff was excellent. They were all kind, energetic and knowledgeable. I am so grateful to Everyone at SPCA International that made it possible for Hero to move and now live in America. Thank you.

The people that work for SPCA International are amazing. My husband Jake is deployed right now in the Middle East and he rescued a puppy almost as soon as he arrived over there. He found this newborn puppy starved, abandoned, and near death. This unfortunately is the state of so many dogs and animals over where he is. No one takes ownership of them, and they are left to die. Jake saved this pup, fed him, nursed him back to health, and formed a special bond with him. We learned about SPCA International and Operation Baghdad Pups and were overjoyed to find out that we could get this dog home and give him a new life! The people at SPCA International went to work immediately to make this happen. They picked up our puppy, took him to their established kennel, and started him on the journey of getting home. Their vet vaccinated him and made sure he was healthy and strong enough to travel, and their workers took great care of him. We received photos of him and weekly reports letting us know he was safe and happy. Months passed and finally it was his turn to come into the states!! This past Monday I picked our sweet boy up from the airport! The folks at SPCA International save animals lives, that's for sure. But they also helped our family and so many other families stay connected while a loved one is deployed. We have been looking forward to this for months, and now its so special that our family gets to love on and get to know the pup that Daddy has been with while he's been away from us. We can't wait for our soldier and his dog to be reunited! It has been a joyous and bonding experience. And would never have been possible without SPCA International and Operation Baghdad Pups. A special thank you to Lori and Kurdo for keeping us informed throughout the entire journey and for organizing and seeing through the entire process. They are truly some of Earth's angels. We are sothankful for our new puppy, Major, and so thankful for this experience. Thank you SPCA International and Operation Baghdad Pups! From the bottom of our hearts!!

Thank you so much for the help getting our two dogs to Puerto Rico. Easy application process from start to finish. Despite what many people believe, the military does not pay for your entire move and members are left to cover sometimes thousands of dollars in costs. This grant helped ease the financial burden on my family. Highly recommend to anyone in the military moving with pets overseas.

I want to share my story of Rooster the Iraqi dog with you…
I went to Iraq for a one year contract for work, away from my family and knowing no one. We have always had dogs as a part of our family and at that time we had four in Florida. I went to work one day and someone said there were puppies next door in the vehicle maintenance hangar ran by the Turkish mechanics. Me being the dog guy I am went over immediately to find that these guys had found and taken in 3 puppies from the same liter and made them their own.
From that time till I left, I helped take care of them, feed them, bathe and play with all three. Of course I was most drawn to the runt of the group who was and is my Rooster. He was afraid and unsure of people period seeing how he was a wild dog living on a military base with an expectancy to survive not much past a year in the conditions he was born into.
The men who took them in gave them the best care they could with what they had available. There were no Home Depots or Pets Marts. Building dog houses, a fenced in area and eventually a good size gated pen. Good thing they did because with word spreading amongst the other contractors on base, they became more popular and had many visitors. The 3 original dogs turned into 16 in one pen and we took care of them with what we had. Lots of folks pitched in whether it was buying toys and bringing them back from their R&R or feeding them left overs from their meals. Some simply came just to be and play with them, filling that void…missing their own pets at home.
We would bring them food for breakfast and was a great way to start our mornings feeding them…they knew we were coming every morning and reacted to the white take out trays filled with breakfast for them. Of course the whole scenario took place again for lunch. We were even fortunate enough to get a few bags of dog food for them which was hard to get!
Making friends with the deployed contractor veterinarian was a key part of this story…she not only told me about the SPCAI sending animals home for military and contractors deployed to these locations for free but she also gave up some of her personal time to look at the pups and help us keep them as healthy as possible. To me this was the most amazing thing I could possibly learn and so the process began by asking permission from the men who found them if I could take Rooster home to the US.
Hesitant at first but they agreed and they knew he would have a much better life with me. My decision led to others wanting to do the same. With the unbelievable efforts by the SPCAI and their worldwide team, all 16 puppies were taken to a better facility north of us where they would do their in country quarantine, be vaccinated and be properly taken care of until it was time to make that trip to the US. Mind you, all provided by the SPCAI at no cost to the person wanting the dog.
Without the amazing services and selfless efforts provided by the SPCAI none of this would have ever happened. Their money that they spend is provided by countless generous individuals who all believe in the same thing…Every animal deserves a chance to live a good life. It is an incredible organization saving animals all over the world. Just in Iraq alone they have saved over 700 animals and are now with their new forever families throughout the US.
I am so grateful to everyone involved in this and to the people who I have never met who worked so hard to get my puppy home safely and healthy! I cannot stress enough that none of this would happen without your generous donations, big or small…it all counts and puts big hearted animal loving people with the pets they found, adopted and wanted to have as their own in a better place.
Rooster is now in Florida with his new K-9 family and humans…5 dogs now total. I would not have it any other way…This dog made all the difference in my life the last three months in a not so friendly and unforgiving place.
Thank you with all my heart to each and every one who was part of Rooster’s amazing journey. Mostly to the SPCAI organization…Keep doing that great stuff you do…One animal at a time!
Forever grateful:
Mr. D. “Roosters Dad”
My family is part of the military living overseas and we just experienced our first move to our next location. Since we purchased our dog when we first moved overseas we had no idea the amount of money it would take to have our pet relocated with us. With our time to relocate to the next stations approaching soon and not having the funds to relocate our pet with us, we submitted a grant to SPCA international who was able to step in and help us with the expenses of bringing our dog with us. Our family couldn't be grateful enough for the wonders this organizations does for families and their pets. Thank you again SPCA International and we hope you are able to continue to keep families together!

I first found out about this group through my cousin I was a little skeptical at first. I fell in love with two particular puppies of which I had only seen pictures of at that particular time but that didn't matter to me I loved them and I knew one day I would get to bring them home. Unfortunately one of my babies passed away. In the end I still ended up getting one of my babies along with two other puppies that I just couldn't bare to part with this group really dedicated themselves to making sure my baby made it home to me as well as his health and all the love they showed him along the way
There is nothing more praise worthy than a note-for-profit that is created to help others. SPCA International is that not-for-profit. They set the bar so high that this organization should be the template for all other companies whether they are not for profit or for profit.
SPCA International has a program that rescues dogs and cats from Iraq. This program is called Operation Baghdad pups. While serving overseas in Iraq, my husband befriended a stray dog that we referred to as Mommie, since she was days away from giving birth. Sadly the puppies all passed away within 3 months. He feel in love with her over the months of her following him around during his day. We knew he would one day leave Iraq and return home and he was devastated with the notion of leaving Mommie behind. We sent an application to SPCAI to be considered for the Operation Baghdad pups program and we were told they would love to help us bring Mommie back to the US to her forever home with us. While in Iraq, there were many life threatening incidents along the way for our new furry family member and with every harrowing incident in this war torn country, Lori Kalef , the program manager, stepped in and rescued Mommie from hell by contacting people who worked, in Iraq, with SPCAI. She knew just who to call to fix the situation until it was time for Mommie to fly home. She was there for us, all hours of the day and night and I have never meet anyone with this much love to help others. She doesn’t see this as a job, she sees this as the success to her life and that is to bring joy to others whether they are humans or animals. With all the awful things that are happening to our world, it was wonderful to work with an organization that is there to do all they can to make this world right….If only for our furry family members and their loved ones.
We are a military family moving from Guam to Alaska, a very difficult and expensive move. We adopted 2 stray dogs who grew up bigger than we thought but we knew that we could never just leave them here. Thanks to the SPCAI, our furbabies will be coming with us to our new home! I'm not sure how we could have afforded it without their help.

We are a USAF family stationed in England and returning home to the U.S.
The military does not provide provisions for military families with pets. This is an out-of-pocket expense for us in the middle of an already expensive and stressful time.
The logistics alone to make sure our furry family members stay with our family while travelling overseas is tremendous. Add in the cost and it can be overwhelming.
We read about SPCA offering to help with the travel costs to military families with pets and applied.
We shipped the dogs over to England with us at a cost of around $2,600 four years ago. We originally heard that it was much cheaper to ship the dogs back to the U.S. However, customs fees have increased, shipping with a certified pet carrier became mandatory, and the costs increased about $1,000 more than what we originally anticipated.
With the help of SPCA this cost was covered through donations and we are eternally grateful.
Our two dogs have been in our lives for 12 and 7 years, respectfully. There is no way we would ever leave them behind.
Not having to suffer financially to keep them with us is priceless during such an already difficult situation.
We are eternally grateful that this program exists for us and other military families.
Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts!

I found a puppy while deployed to Kuwait who I would take care of every day. I built a dog house and brought food every day. I was able to bring her to a shelter to receive better care. After waiting until she was of age, we were finally able to send her back to the states. This orginization handled everything top to bottom and was able to get my puppy (Liberty) home safely. I can't say enough about the professionalism and dedication the SPCA has. They made my dream come true.
The SPCA was awesome. While deployed to Iraq, our team members quickly became friends with a female dog that was very friendly. About a few weeks into my deployment, she had 8 healthy puppies. These puppies and mom had little chance of survival. The pups were born under an old building and there was an order on the base to put wild animals down. Myself and countless other members brought the pups to our workplace and constructed a dog house to house the entire family. We got to see the pups every time we came to work. They were an inspiration. Mama (Jasmine) was good to the pups and stayed with them while they nursed. When old enough she would travel a quarter of a mile to bring back a single sausage for the pups to share. Obviously we would bring the entire family food fro the chow hall because mom could not feed everybody. We reached out to the SPCA to help get this family out. It is my belief that all would perish or be put down without their intervention. This organization was amazing. They worked with all agencies to include our installation to provide a way out. We were able to get the mom and all 8 pups out on a contracted flight to a larger facility. The SPCA took it from there. They vaccinated and cared for the mom and puppies for the next few months. They asked nothing in return. Vaccinations had to run their course with a minimum waiting time. Once cleared, the SPCA flew all 8 pups and their mom to the United States. All dogs were shipped to different states and cared for along the way. The SPCA asked for nothing. I have chatted with several folks who received the puppies. All are doing well and thriving to include my own. I cannot say enough about the organization. I am sure that this whole family would have perished by starvation on shot without their help. It truly is a shining moment out of all the hate going on in the world.

While on a recent deployment, I had the opportunity to engage/befriend a local dog that would frequent our site. During this time, she also had puppies. Unfortunately, its not "kosher" to have pets in areas like this and we were trying to care for and protect the pups as much as possible. Lucky for us, SPCA International was able to helps get all the puppies to safety and onto incredible adopted families stateside. Our puppy, Libby, was finally able to be reunited with us in the states this past week. We can't begin to express our thanks for the hard work of Lori and the folks at SPCA International for protecting and getting our pup to us. Thanks again!
When my husband got orders to Hawaii we weren't sure how we were gonna pay for our fur baby to fly out with us. Luckily, we heard about the SPCA and their program to help military families pay for the cost associated with flying their pets to the military members new duty station. We applied as soon as we heard! About a month later the SPCA approved our application and deposited the grant into our account. Our family is forever greatful! Without help from the SPCA we would have had to leave our pup with family members until we were able to pay out of pocket. The SPCA saved our family the worry, and heartache, of having to be seperated.

The SPCA international grant for military families to get their pets home is amazing! They helped us get our dogs home and it was a easy process. The people are great to work with and help you with any questions you may have. Our family is so blessed to have the SPCA provide a grant for us so we can have our fur babies finally home with us!

We were put in touch with this organization to help offset some of the cost on moving our dog from England to Hawaii. The people that we worked with were informative and helpful and made the process easy to complete. We are so thankful for the help that we received as my father suddenly passed away 2 months before our PCS and we had to used the money set aside for shipping our dog to help bury my dad. We thought that we were going to loose our family pet that we have had for many years. The cost to ship him was several thousand dollars. We were blessed to find SPCA International to help bring him with us. Many thanks for all this great organization does to help keep families whole and intact.

My wife and I were stationed in Spain with the US Navy, and being relocated back to the US to Norfolk, Virginia. The military flight has almost no pet spots available, so we were forced to find alternate means to ship our two pets, Amy, a 10yr old dog, and Sheldon, a 6 yr old cat. We found a wonderful company, Premier Pet Travel that took care of them and coordinated the difficult process since we had to use another means than the military, but it was over $2000 for both of them. The grant process was easy and everyone at the SPCA was wonderful to work with! We received the grant money which is a blessing and a great program! Thank you!!

Moving frequently in the military is difficult, it would have been even more difficult to leave our dog behind. But when the costs started to add up and exceeded $2500 to take her with us.... we didn't see any other option but to leave her behind. When we started looking for somewhere to go... we couldn't bear it. We can't have children so she is our baby... We love her.
We can't say how grateful we are to this organization.
This organization was wonderful to work with. We submitted an application asking for financial assistance moving with our four legged fur-baby, Lucy. All responses were prompt and so personal. They treated us well, answered all of our questions, and granted us a small amount that really helped in the cost of moving with our dog overseas.
Thank you SPCA!

I had a lot of preconceived notions of the SPCA International based on experiences with extremist animal rights activists false claims of association with the organization. Getting in contact with them was a last resort to save the little kitty from the Iraqi alley dogs and get him home to America to live with the family of a service member who cared for him and initially rescued him from the dogs here. All of the other organizations failed to return emails or calls that were placed from a combat zone with great difficulty.
SPCA International is the only group I know that is actually doing the work of saving the animals here and I have been to dozens of websites of organizations that claim to be helping service members take home the buddies that helped them get through the hard times that are life in a war zone.
In addition their compassion for the animals is genuine. They got our little friend the vaccinations he needed and housed him for the time he needed to wait after vaccinations to be able to travel legally and safely. During that time they provided copious amounts of photos and videos of him playing in order to assure us that he is safe and healthy. One of our soldiers even commented that he was living better than we were while awaiting transport.
In addition, we still have a base dog here that is such a part of the local unit that he will never be allowed to leave. SPCA International has helped us to make sure he is safe after he was bitten by some wild dogs that often try to enter the base. In addition they have offered to provide resources in the form of contacts with local vets to help us get him vaccinated so that he can live a long and happy life with the men he loves so dearly.
All of this was done without condemning us for wearing leather boots or trying to convince us that tofu and meditation could bring about world peace and ISIS could be stopped by aligning the right stones with the right chakras like I expected. Man was I happy to meet Kurdo in person after meeting Lori online and learn that SPCA International really is doing the good work they claim to do. I am so grateful that they got our little guy home in time for the Holidays. His battle buddy really needed him.
One last note. When many of the local guys found out that a cat was getting a passport to America they began meowing. It's been almost two months now and there is one guy that meows at me every time he walks past. There are now four local men and a dozen children who self identify as house cats in hopes that someone will adopt them and take them to America.

I am honored to know this organization. My little kitten is most blessed to have been helped by them!

This is such an amazing organization. Without SPCAI and their "Operation Baghdad Pups" (which also caters to felines), I would not have been able to rescue my Ginger from the deserts of the Middle East. I am so happy I was directed to this organization to help with bringing her home so I could provide her with a far better caliber of life than she would have had being stuck in the desert. I highly recommend this to ANY service member who has bonded with an animal throughout the course of their deployment and would like to give them a permanent furever home. :)
I wish I could put into words how valuable and wonderful this organization is. We are thankful from the botttom of ours heats to receive some financial help to relocated our dogs to another overseas location. We are a military family and our dogs are a big part of our family. They will move move with us wherever we have to go. Thank you for easing some of that financial burden this move. We hope to be able to give back and donate to this organization in the future. We will pay it forward just as these kind and generous donors and this organization has. Thank you!

SPCA's Operation military pets program is a godsend for us military families that pcs across oceans; we moved from Guam to Hawaii. Our dog is a rescue that we adopted in Guam, she is very anxious and becomes very scared around strangers, I never could have left her there. I worried about the expenses that transporting my pet would incur along with everything else that came along with moving; temporary housing, hotels, flights, food...etc! It's overwhelming, I am so grateful that there's a program out there that cares about military pets and keeping military families together.

Due to her size getting her back to America was very expensive but we weren't leaving without her. Highly recommend this group to any active duty who need help getting their pets moved when they PCS.

Good Afternoon,
I reached out to SPCA International for assistance with transporting my puppy Leah to Italy. I am active duty military and received orders to be stationed there for 3 years. I was unaware of the policies of moving pets overseas and when I realized how much it would cost us and how little time we had to get ready, we were really in a bind. With not many options, I turned to SPCA for financial assistance. I am so amazed with how quick they were willing to help! They actually expedited our case and today we received a grant. These are amazing people. We are almost where we need to be and can bring our beautiful family pet with us. Thank you so much for everything, my family (my wife especially!! Its her baby!!) and I really appreciate it!

I recently received orders to move to Hawaii at a short notice and rushed to get everything ready for my family and our dog. It wasn't until I started everything that I found out moving to Hawaii with a dog comes at a cost and that the military doesn't cover any cost for your family pet. I started looking into Organizations for military members and their family pet that I found SPCA and another similar group. SPCA understood my problem and was quickly to answer any questions and help as much as they could. SPCA approved my application in a short time and received a gracious donation to help with the cost I occurred for our dog. This is the best Organization I found and I'm glad I did. I recommend SPCA for anyone in the service asking for assistance. Also I ask to help the organization and donate some money to help others in similar issues as myself.

Operation Military Pets was a true blessing! From start to finish the correspondence from the staff was amazing. Military moves are extremely stressful and one of the most stressful things (in my opinion) is making sure that your fur family is well taken care. It's all too often that the expense of moving a pet creates financial strain and heartache for the families. This program is wonderful and I can not thank them enough for helping in the relocation of our pets - it means more than my family could ever express!!!

Moving with the military can be stressful and expensive especially when you have a pet. SPCA provided a grant to help ease the cost of an international PCS so that we could bring our dog with us. She's my battle buddy and such an important part of our family. They were easy to work with, friendly, and completely understanding of our situation.

This program is amazing! The coordinated everything and helped me rescue my sweet girl! Jewel was one of four in a stray litter near where I worked. I took responsibility of them since they were a week old. I fed momma and made sure the pups had food when they were big enough to eat real food. At one point three of them disappeared and I knew then I had to save the last. Jewel came to live at my hotel with me from that point on and that didn't work so well. The hotel manager did not like her being there and I coordinated with my contact and they placed Jewel in a kennel until she could come home. They even managed to get her flight home while I was here so I could see my sweet girl as soon as she landed and she didn't have to go through my family and being around strangers while she settled in. The SPCAI paid for everything! And I couldn't and still cannot express my gratitude to them for helping me. Jewel is now safely in my home and she will be taken care of and safe forever thanks to Operation Baghdad Pups!!!
The SPCA OMP is an amazing organization! It means so much to us military families to have our furry family move with us as we move from base to base. We can't thank the SPCA OMP for working to help raise money to transport our bulldog with us to Japan. Just a little money goes a long way to help keep our family complete.

Days before we were PCS'ing to Bahrain we found out that we would not be able to fly our kitties over with us on a commercial flight. Thankfully we were with my family at the time, and they agreed to watch them until we could make arrangements to fly them over via third party. Once we started receiving quotes we realized that it was going to cost upwards of $2500 to get them here. Stressed and panicked about how to make that happen I reached out to SPCA international with little hope that my plea would even be received. To my surprise it was! It wasn't too long before I heard back that our application was approved, and a grant would be issued to help with the cost to get our kitties here! There were no gimicks, and no hoops to jump through, just pure generosity. Shortly after we received the grant our cats made a two day trip through Germany and arrived safely in the Middle East! I cannot say thank you enough to the SPCA International for keeping our family together during this difficult move. Sadly, we found out shortly after they arrived that one of our kitties, Mr. Oliver, is suffering from kidney failure and will not be with us much longer. However, at least we are able to care for him during his final days. The SPCA international is an incredible organization who we are very grateful for. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I was overseas and rescued 2 kittens. When I was coming to the end of my mission I needed help to get them home with me. One email and an easy application later, and the process was set in motion. Long story short , the 2 cats made it to the U.S. with ease. The experience was great.
The SPCA Internationals’ program, "Operation Military Pets" helped my family tremendously! I was overseas serving in Germany and I was told I needed to PCS early. With two dogs (German Shepherd and a Terrier) and a cat, that gets very costly. Adding to our stress, my wife was pregnant and we recently adopted two children. Thanks to the grant from the SPCA we were able to get our WHOLE family to our new duty station! Thank you SPCA!

I was in the middle of a 6 month depyment in Iraq. When I noticed some kids throwing rocks at a dog. I ran over to them and made them stop. Next thing I know this dog follows me back to my compound??? We bonded that day and she followed me everywhere that she could. I became very attached to her and named her mitsy. I had heard of bagdhad for pups from and online animal rescue. And decided to make contact with them to ask about bringing mitsy home. Within 24 hours a lori Kalef emailed me back with a bunch of questions and before I knew it she said she would take care if everything and make sure my pup made it home. There was a lot of red tape and Murphy showed up a bunch of times. But loti did not give up!!!! It took three months of her hard work and finally mitsy came home. She had never been inside a house before and was a little nervous at first. She barked at the TV and couldn't figure out why she couldn't walk through a window. Ha ha. But she is super happy to be here ( I think) and she had taken a liking to my wife and lives to be petted. Whoever had her before me cropped her ears!!! And did not have it done by a vet!! The cuts was uneven and looks like it was done with scissors. She will never go through that agian and will live a life if being spoiled. Thank You lori kalef and the SPCA for doing this for me. I can't thank you enough. SFC Englert. 20th SFG
Operation Baghdad Pups is truely a life saving nonprofit organization. They save the lives of both the deployed soldiers and the homeless animals they befriend.
In my case, the SPCA helped me and two other deployers save the lives of 3 dogs.
I met my dog, Charlie, by the flightline of the air base in Campia Turzii, Romania. He slept under a shack and came out during the day and hung out by our tents and equipment. He was nicknamed Tripod because he only walked on three legs. He became a quick favorite among the troops and a fund was started for him. Actually, it started with the group of airmen before us. With a lame paw and the winter setting in, I knew he needed help and I didn't want to leave him behind. So I came in contact with Lori, the SPCA coordinator. It was as simple as telling her I wanted to take him home. All he needed was shots and surgery on his foot. After that, the SPCA took care of everything else; the paperwork, transportation, everything. They make the process of rescuing Charlie so simple and without any stress on the soldier. A month later, Charlie was in the US and home with me. He is acting like a puppy again and enjoying his new life. Thank you so much SPCA for making this possible.
I am the spouse of an active duty Marine, and we recently PCS'd to Japan. We were told getting our dogs here would be difficult but we had no idea how difficult. And with the financial strain of the move, we didn't think it would be possible to get our two fur babies here. We just couldn't imagine our life without them. The SPCAI helped us financially to get our dogs to us in Japan and we are a complete family again. The process was a nightmare but the SPCAI made it a little easier. Thank you so much!

My experience with the SPCA was incredible. From start to finish the liaison, Lori Kalef, was quick, kind, and understanding. She communicated all the information clearly, and in a matter of months the puppy I had been hanging out with in Iraq was in the United States with me. I hope that anyone else that makes a furry friend while deployed is lucky enough to interact with this organization.
The SPCA is an amazing non-profit organization that helped us bring our dog pcsing from Germany to Hawaii. They helped with the costs of the flights so we did not have to be separated as a family. I can't thank them enough for their compassion and concern for the military and their families. Thank you for all you do for us and for our four legged friends. We will forever be grateful for what you did for our family during this very trying and challenging time.

SPCAI Operation Baghdad Pups worked effortlessly to reunite myself and my dog Julia after I was unable to bring her home from overseas. They were actually able to send me back to get her! I cannot even begin to describe the joy that having Julia back in my life has brought to not only myself, but many of the soldiers that served there with us! SPCAI is by far the best nonprofit organization that I have ever had the privilege of working with.
SPCAi is a phenomenal organization. I can't even begin to explain how incredible this organization really is. I am currently serving overseas as a contractor in Iraq. On our base we had a couple stray dogs get pregnant and give birth to 18 puppies all together. I reached out to Lori with SPCAi and asked if they would be able to help send a couple dogs home. She was very eager and happy to help. Well word spread on the base and military and other contractors started helping take care of the pups and wanted to adopt them. Before we knew it we had all 18 pups spoken for. Lori had a HUGE task on her hands to coordinate the transfer of all the pups back stateside to their respective owners. SPCAi was amazing at responding to our emails and phone calls in a timely manner to help coordinate and ENTIRELY PAY for the dogs to get shipped stateside.
These dogs have been a nice distraction from the everyday grind out here in Iraq, and have been a piece of home for us. To be able to give these pups who have shown us nothing but love and remind us of home an actual home is an incredible feeling. This would not have been possible if it had not been for Lori and SPCAi. It is with my highest recommendation that this non-profit get the credit it deserves. Words cannot begin to explain how SPeCiAl (they put the SPCA in special) this organization really is =-) They will always have our gratitude and respect for everything they did.
There's "nothing harder" than PCSing with the military to a foreign country and wondering what to do with your fur creatures. My husband received orders a couple of months ago to PCS to Germany from Hawaii, we were both excited to start a new chapter in our life with Alice, our 5 year old Great Dane!
After getting most of our ducks in a row, it was time to start planning the move for our Dane - which quickly turned into a nightmare. We contacted the airline that was flying us from the United States to Germany and were told "there's a 150lb weight max for each animal, including kennel. Sorry, we are unable to accommodate you and your dog is not allowed on the flight. " Well, anyone who knows anything about Danes she (including her kennel) are well over the 150lb weight limit. We didn't know what to do or where to turn.
Like most people, we turned to good ol Google and started researching pet shipping companies. Oh my, what a chore that is. So many options, so many questions, so many hours waiting on quotes and so many heartaches when those quotes are received. Comes to find out, shipping animals is not cheap - shipping a Great Dane is no where near cheap. At this point, we knew Alice wasn't going to make the journey with us right away, we accepted that - so the search continued. My husband and I accidentally stumbled upon SPCA international and found out through grants that they help get your furry creature to you. I immediately started filling out the application, question by question with tears running down my face knowing this was a great service and a huge help if all goes well.
A couple of weeks later, we arrived in Germany - leaving dear Alice with a family member until we could come up with the funds - and we received an email from Julie stating we completed the first phase of the process, please fill out a couple more documents. The newly filled out documents were emailed back within 24 hours, now the waiting game began again. I became very antsy and nervous, "what if I answered something incorrectly or didn't add enough detail?" Within a couple of weeks, I began the emails back and forth with Julie and she reassured me every time we "talked" that our application is still in processing and they have been very busy - never making me feel that we didn't matter or nobody was working on our case. Julie always thanked my husband for his services and stating how greatful they are to have military families that want to keep their pets and will do anything for them.
FINALLY, we received that "golden email" our grant has been approved and within the next couple of weeks we will be reunited with our sweet baby girl.
To Julie and the rest of the staff at SPCA International, from the bottoms of our hearts with so much great-fullness, we thank you for everything you have done for us and so many other military families.
Brandon, Danielle and Alice
Much faster response time than expected! I am so very grateful for this service, as it is helping my family stay together during our move overseas. My pets are part of my family, and I couldn't imagine having to leave them behind due to financial reasons. Thank you!

The SPCA has blessed my family with more than we could ever ask for. By granting a lump sum, my wife and I are able to take our pups to our new home overseas. I highly recommend this organization to anyone in need. The process was easy to do. Everyone we spoke to was very helpful and polite. They take what they do as more than just a job but rather making a difference. We look forward to keeping in touch with this organization and spreading the word to more families just like us. Thank you again SPCA International from the Hernandez Family.

I can't say enough about this amazing program, Operation Military Pets made all the difference for my family. With their help we were able to PCS from Hawaii not having to stress about the outrageous cost of flying our fur kids off the island. We always planned to bring our dogs with us when we left, but due to the breed, a stub nose and size (our puppy just kept growing!!) of our dogs the quotes we were given quickly doubled. Just when I though we were out of options my friend said to look into SPCA and they sometimes have grants available. The process was very easy from the start and we were kept updated on the process. I would 100% recommend this to anyone who needs help and will give back in the future. SPCA completely made my life easier. They have an awesome program. I hope they are able to continue helping families. Thank you, Thank you SPCA

The SPCAI has a program named "Operation Military Pets", and this program was such a tremendous financial help to this military family!! We needed to get our Bulldog from our current base in Oahu to the East Coast. Flying a bulldog (aka snubbed nose dog) is not easy. There was only ONE airline that would fly this breed from HNL to JFK and it was going to be costly. Our bulldog is like a family member to us. We applied for the "Operation Military Pets" grant and kept our fingers crossed! In a short period of time we were approved for the grant. I would like to thank the SPCAI from the bottom of our hearts for their help! They are an amazing organization that truly cares about keeping military families and their pets together!!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!

I could not be more grateful for this organization. Scrappy was my dog while deployed to the North Sinai Peninsula in Egypt. I started taking care of him to assist the Vet until he was ready to be a mascot, but I very soon became attached and couldn't bear the thought of saying my final goodbye. He helped me get through any hard times and never failed to make me smile. Scrappy missed his socialization period has a puppy so he was extremely timid. Working with him and seeing him make progress in things like being able to walk on a leash near people to playing with toys was so rewarding and kept me going. As he became more social he brought joy to so many people. When I brought Scrappy to the flight line for his first flight out of North Camp, he had many soldiers come to say goodbye to him.
The other soldier that was adopting Whisky at the time found SPCA International and all it took was an email to get things going. Lori worked with emailing someone in the states, the soldiers here, and the vet which is not an easy thing, but everyone was on the same page and it wasn't long before Donald came out to Egypt to bring three dogs home to the states. Besides ordering a kennel (which SPCA International even provided a kennel for one of the dogs that was a last minute add) we were able to sit back and spend our last days not worrying about anything. The vet, Donald, and Lori took care of all the health certificates, paperwork, and plane tickets. We were planning on adopting Scrappy ourselves and the paperwork behind it all was just as daunting as the price tag to bringing the dogs home so that was such an incredible relief.
I will continue to help this organization out in any way I can. I want as many other people to be able to experience what I experienced. Working for this organization has got to be the most rewarding jobs on the planet to constantly make people feel the way I do right now. Words cannot describe my appreciation. I know the other two soldiers that were helped here feel the exact same way.
I love this nonprofit. It's because of them my dog Jax is here from Afghanistan and not only is he happy but he has defently made our lives happier. They are a amazing company that has been with him in his medical and travel since the day he started his journey. There is simply no way to put in words how grateful I am that this nonprofit helped me and Jax. From Jacob Fisher and the Fisher family, thank you from the bottom of our heart SPCAI.
To whom it may concern:
We are a military family that was stationed abroad. We received last minute orders to return to the USA this past December 2014. in a panic, we started getting quotes to ship our fur babies back home (2 cats& 2 dogs ) 1 of our dogs being large and would have to fly under the belly of the plane. We were shocked at the prices to get everyone hone. Costs far exceeded €2,500 which was approximately $3,500 U.S. dollars. We couldn't imagine paying that much so close to the holidays. A co worker had mentioned SPCA had grants to help military families with this cost, but your not always guaranteed the approval. We thought it would be a long shot and filled out all the necessary paperwork and in the mean time had to get a loan to help us out. We couldn't imagine leaving anyone behind.
Much to our surprise our grant was approved. SPCA was disappointed they couldn't help with the full amount but we were over whelmed with their generosity ! It made for a wonderful New Year.
We have now chosen SPCA as one of our top 3 organizations to donate to each year. God bless these wonder people for their time and energy. Our wwords can not express how truly grateful we are
Sincerely
The Daliry Family

I would like to thank SPCA International for what they do for military families. Moving overseas to Spain was a huge deal financially and emotionally. With their generous help we had a huge financial burden lifted off of our shoulders. And I am happy to report that both of our cats our safe and sound here with us in Spain. I will do whatever I can do support this amazing organization. Thanks again for what you do for animals and the military.

I befriended a retired search dog at the British Embassy, Baghdad, her name is Simca and this is her story.
She is a beautiful Belgian Malinois, 12 years old, and had worked her entire life up until she was 10, protecting the lives of the people that lived and worked at the Embassy by searching vehicles entering the Embassy for explosives.
She had been retired for nearly two years and had been locked away in her kennel, only allowed out twice a day for about 15 minutes a time to relieve herself before being locked back up. She had no bedding, as she used to chew her blankets through absolute boredom, so the handlers took it away from her, all she had was a cold, concrete floor.
When I found out she was there I asked if I could spend time with her and was allowed to walk Simca and play with her and I soon fell in love with her. At first she had no idea what to do on walks as she had never been on one, she just stood there looking around, but she soon started behaving like a dog, enjoying affection and chasing tennis balls, she had such a nice temperament and she soon became a local celebrity around the compound, with lads fussing over her all day.
However after about 6 weeks as was told I was no longer allowed to take her from the kennels as the handlers were worried about her biting someone, it was nonsense, I felt hopeless, I knew how much she hated the kennels, you could see it so clearly in her face and body language that it used to break my heart taking her back at night, and to think now she was going to be in there until she was put down was heart breaking.
I looked into ways of getting her home to the UK so she could enjoy her last few years as a normal dog, but everywhere I looked I hit problems. I had spent months trying to figure a way to do this and was at my whit's end when miraculously someone gave me SPAC Internationals website address. I sent them a message immediately and Lori got back to within the hour, I think it was as soon as she got into work to be honest.
She had already arranged for two dogs from the US Embassy to be transported up to Erbil the very next morning and asked if I could get Simca to go with them, without even knowing the story behind Simca she was ready to help me. Unfortunately I was unable to get clearance from the company that officially owned her to let her go, despite them agreeing to me taking ownership of her.
So then Lori went out of her way to put me in touch with a gentleman at the US Embassy and he kindly donated a dog crate he had spare so Simca could be transported, and she gave me the details of the company that could get her out of Baghdad and up to Erbil so she could fly home.
We arranged the transport and then SPAC International found her a wonderful foster family for her to live with while they sorted out all the flight details. They arranged everything and paid for her flight to the UK, where she is now relaxing in a lovely kennel, getting fussed over regularly while she waits for her quarantine period to finish, then she will be taken back to my home where she can lie on the grass in the sun and play with the other dogs, all the things that normal dogs take for granted and that Simca has never experienced in her 12 years of life.
I owe SPAC International everything, more than I could ever repay them, because it wasn't only their financial assistance that made this possible, but their unwavering support and eagerness to help me and all the hard work they did organising the whole evolution. They made the impossible, possible. They are absolute diamonds each and everyone of them and I cant thank them enough. If you need help rehoming a dog these are the people to help you.
We were struggling to find the money to have our dogs moved with us on a pcs move to Hawaii, we didn't have the money to send them and giving them away wasn't an option, they are like family! So we applied for the SPCA grant and we were selected and our dogs are know here in Hawaii with us as a family!! I can't thank them enough!

We are so grateful. The expenses to relocate our dog to our new duty station in Italy were so overwhelming. But he is now with us thanks to the help of SPCA International. We can't thank you enough for helping us keep our family together! Grazie!
The ease of this process surprised my team and I while transporting four dogs from a small jungle island in the Southern Philippines. By identifying the need up front and finding the avenue with plenty of time to spare was a large part of our success. But with the internet as our only tool, the original discovery was very difficult as this program is not indexed in such a way to show up in [multiple] search engine results.
After initial contact, SPCA-International was quick to ensure that all of the information was communicated and all inquiries were answered very expediently throughout the process. Their capable staff was easy to work with and professional in all aspects. We met their requirements and they met our expectations. The donations do not cover the manpower and care provided by the SPCA in this case. They have my family's and my team's utmost respect and appreciation! Thank you!
I wanted to stop by and leave a review on my family’s wonderful experience with SPCA International. My husband has been in the military pushing a total of almost 15 years. Originally serving just about 5 in the Navy and reenlisting into the Army after I (his wife) was diagnosed with an incurable, incredibly difficult disease called Lupus. We knew do to my history with two bouts of cancer at just 21, that insurance would be nearly impossible to get and he has always loved and been proud to be in the military. We had mostly been stationed on the southern side of the US and most moving adventures as a family were easily accessible by car. This is until getting orders just about five months ago now to Hawaii. After the initial excitement wore off, we realized that we have what one might consider a "not normal" sized dog(s.) WE have one full blooded female Great Dane named Sylvia and a female half Black Lab/half Great Dane named Lovely and no clue on the difficulties of getting any sized animal into Hawaii were. Those that have made this move may be laughing now remembering the hoops required by Hawaii for one to jump through in order to get your regularly healthy and up to date medically animal into that state. They require the normal vaccinations, etc but they also require things like 300 dollar blood tests for rabies that starts a four month countdown to when your animal can enter the state. Followed by very rigorous paperwork, health checks, fees for getting direct release of your animal after arriving, etc. After all is said and done we will have (before the actual flights) have spent almost 3000 dollars. With my health being the way it is I need to see two different types of specialty doctors monthly . We could not afford everything at once and I’ve been forced to fly back and forth to the mainland to receive treatment and wait for our dogs to get through the four month waiting period. When we started looking at flights we were excited to see options for flat rates in the $200 range and thought finally we’d receive a financial break. After making all the calls we realized when your dog’s weighs 150 pounds or more, with a giant sized crate, and a giant sized puppy you get a GIANT sized bills in the quadruple digits. Haha. WE found out about this incredible program run by the SPCA by other reviews and thought if we could just by chance get noticed by them maybe we could finally be together as a family. Going through five deployments in just 13 years, we were exhausted with constantly being apart. We sent a letter and literally heard from someone the next morning, by the end of the week we were filling out official paperwork and sending documentation and by the next week being told that we were approved for a grant that is enough to cover all but a few dollars of both our girls’ flights. We can’t say enough about this amazing program . So many people talk about how they are thankful for the protection of the US Military or for the part the play in our countries day to day affairs, but so very few actually show that appreciation with flesh on. Thank you for EVERYTHING that this organization has done, and in particular thank you to Terri who went above and beyond and simplified the process for me. I can’t wait until we are back in a place where we can give back to this program!! I’ll be posting this to my Facebook and encouraging my friends and family and military family to give back to this incredible charitable organization! Thank you again from Dustin, Crystal, Lolita, and Sylvie Knopp.
Ps Pictures to come of the reuniting of our family!
I am the President and Co-founder of a very special Sanctuary by the name of Aslans Cats in New York State.
Our 501c3 organisation provides a forever home for cats that have been diagnosed with the debilitating Feline Leukemia Virus.
A few months ago, my 501c3 organisation was given the 'Shelter of the Week ' Award by Lori Kalef and the SPCA International.
We were thrilled to receive this recognition and a much needed Grant to help with the enormous expenses we accrue monthly to help these animals that have so few places to go currently.
SPCA International has helped us by believing in 'Our mission ' to help those with Feline Leukemia.
More organisations are now realizing that the 'Special Needs' animals have a right to live a life of dignity, respect, and compassion .
It has illuminated a much needed cause as those that are 'forgotten' deserve a second chance at love and a home to call their own.
We thank you SPCA International for all you have helped us with.
In kindest regards,
Sabrina Hansen
The SPCA International is a great organization helping animals all over the world . They were extremely quick in responding and kept us informed the whole time. Thank you to SPCA International for your wonderful support to Help in Suffering, Jaipur – India. We are very thankful to Lori Kalef for your kind support to Help In Suffering.

The SPCAI is a fantastic organization. We at SOS Galgos cannot speak highly enough about the SPCA International organization and their team. They are genuinely dedicated and committed to the long-term welfare of animals, in our case the Spanish greyhounds (galgos) who had been suffering in silence until the SPCAI came along and gave them a voice on an international level.
Romania, in Eastern Europe has a unique stray animal problem. Many hundreds of thousands animals live on the streets. They are regarded as vermin by the local population and treated accordingly with endemic abuse and sometimes grotesque killings. The Romanian Government have just introduced Law which promotes the 'eradication' of these animals. It is well known that those who abuse animals carry a high likelihood that they will abuse people and property. In response to this a study program was introduced to seek to show how, by introducing a neutering program instead of killing, a Helpline to respond to animal abuse reports and initiating legal action and a Humane Education program, it could be shown how change can be achieved. http://makingthelink.wix.com/a-time-for-change This was conducted in the Romanian city of Bistrita and is the biggest program of its type ever attempted. This project was simply a concept until SPCA International agreed to offer support. This support allowed the door to be opened and psychological profiles obtained from around 600 children to allow before and after evaluations on the success of the program. From this beginning which SPCA International made possible, the study project is now expanding into a program which has a realistic possibility of leading by example and has the genuine potential to bring change not only to an individual, or even to a city but it now carries the possibility of influencing change throughout the country af Romania... for both animals and people. We continue pushing open the door but SPCA International provided the key !
SPCA International is a great organization helping animals all over the world. My experience with them, as that of a spokesperson for a homeless dog sanctuary in Russia, was remarkable. They were helpful, diligent in figuring out the specifics of the Russian rescue scene, and ended up offering an invaluable assistance to the sanctuary. Many people and formerly homeless dogs are very grateful. Thank you!
The SPCA is a great animal protection organization. They were incredibly solidarity with us. Since we are an organization in Bolivia, we have to rely on that our work is also taken seriously abroad. The SPCA has agreed to support our sterilization of stray animals in La Paz, Bolivia. Another part of their aid went to the sustainable treatment of stray dogs. The animals who are helped, live in the poorest parts of Bolivia.
Thank you so much for your great help.
Thank you SPCA for helping our family! You helped relieve some of the burden it took to bring our precious German Shepherd overseas. We appreciate the help and thank you for supporting military families.
Thank you for keeping our family together, SPCA International! This organization's Operation Military Pets helped relieve some of the financial burden during our PCS move from Oklahoma to Japan. Our experience would not be the same without our two loving cats to give us snuggles after a long day of work.
SPCA was so easy to work with, and we sincerely thank you for choosing us for a grant.
Thank you to SPCA International and for your wonderful support to Operation Military Pets. We did not have much notice to move from AZ to HI, and the financial burden of moving our pets was extremely stressful. Leaving our pets behind was not an option, although we do realize why many military families do not have pets and/or choose to leave them when it's time to PCS. With the help of SPCA International, the financial burden was lifted. Every little bit helps and we are extremely grateful for the grant that we were given from SPCA International. I will be giving back to this organization in hopes that I can repay the favor and potentially help another military family in need. Thanks again, SPCA International!
An excellent organization that was very quick and helpful in assisting my PCS move to Hawaii. I did not have enough money to take my dogs with me but with the help of the ASPCAs program it is now possible. Keep up the great work and my family is forever in your debt!
SPCA was wonderful from the very moment I submitted my information. They were xtrmely quick in responding and kept me informed the whole time. If it wasn't for the help of SPCA my little disabled parakeet would not have been able to move from Germany to Florida with me. Lucky, my special little parakeet was born unable to use his legs. We worked with him and he now has use of 1 leg and partial use of another. I knew if I were to leave him in Germany that no one would have loved him and I could not even begin to imagine where he might end up. I explained the situation to SPCA and I was very fortunate that the right people were in the right place at the right time. From the time he left Germany with SPCA to the time he was returned to me, I knew where he was at all times. He was extremely well taken care of, just like he was "their own personal pet". I had cried many nights worried about how I would get my little Lucky bird to Florida. This organization is WONDERFUL!!! I could never ever repay them for the happiness that they brought to me by reuniting me and my Lucky. The people that work for SPCA really love their job and it shows in their care for your animals. Thank you SPCA and thank you personally to all those involved in the transport of Lucky@ I will never forget what you done for me!
I began volunteering with SPCA International in August of this year and I have found the experience both rewarding and exciting. My affiliation and volunteer experience has provided me a great deal of insight into the importance and sometimes overwhelming need for organizations such as SPCAI.
It is truly a unique opportunity to give back to the men and women in our armed services that make everyday sacrifices for my country. The US is the most generous country in the world and SPCA International is a prime example of the passion behind this generosity. I am honored to assist in any way.
What better feeling to have than to walk away from my volunteer experience knowing I have helped an animal in need as well as one of our brave military families?!
While stationed in Iraq I befriended a little puppy named Jasmine. Thanks to Terri and the SPCA I was able to bring Jasmine home to the US. Five years later she is doing great. Also had the opportunity to adopt Sandy, another Iraqi puppy in February. The original Soldier who befriended her was unable to take her home. Without the help of the SPCA, Terri Crisp and her team these dogs would probably not be alive today.
I have been blessed to be the adoptive Mom of two retired Bomb Dogs from Iraq through SPCAI. Diablo, the amazing old man Mallinois and Lady, the ball crazy sweetheart young GSD. Both have come into my home and brightened up the life of my Pointer, and me and my sister too. Terri and her team trusted me and I am so happy they did. These wonderful working dogs deserve the best retirement, and I am so happy to help them enjoy walks in the woods, swimming in the lake, and cuddles on the couch. I miss my Diablo so much, but I know he enjoyed his retirement!!! Lady is having a ton of fun chasing balls in the park!! Thank you SPCAI, No Buddy Left Behind, and Terri for trusting me with these beautiful and gentle souls!!!
When my husband was deployed to Irag in 2011 his unit befriended two dogs on the base; a mother dog, Mama, and her daughter, Sadie. After saving up and gathering donations his Lieutenant was able to save both the girls from Iraq, but before they came to America Sadie had a litter of 6 puppies. We were blessed to be able to adopt one of them and named him Lucas after my husband's fallen comrade. Lucas helped my husband tremendously after the deployment once he had to settle back into civilian life. If we could do it all over again we would in a heartbeat, he is the most amazing gift we could have ever asked for, and it was all made possible by SPCA International.
I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to volunteer with Operation Baghdad Pups since its inception in 2008. Every mission is unique and incredibly rewarding. I have helped coordinate transport for dogs and cats after they arrive in the U.S. and need to get to their forever homes. I have been lucky to foster many of the dogs and cats as they await the final leg of their long journey. I am so glad that I have been able to connect with the soldiers and family members as they are reunited with their furry friends rescued from a war zone. Operation Baghdad Pups makes a difference!
When I was deployed to Iraq in 2008, Operation Baghdad pups saved my dog. I'm so grateful to have Lucky home with me. Shortly after she arrived in the states she gave birth to six adorable Iraqi puppies. I can't begin to imagine how different their lives would have been had they been born in Iraq. Both parents, Lucky and Scout, were rescued with the SPCA. I tell everyone I can about how much they helped us. Most Americans do not realize how terrible life in the middle east is for dogs and cats. Lucky and I try to do our part to educate people when we can. It's been a few years now since we moved home, but i really feel that Lucky knows how lucky she really is. Thank you for everything.
I have been a volunteer with the Operation Baghdad Pups program since the beginning. It has been both a humbling and extremely rewarding experience. I have traveled to Iraq, helped here at home in the U.S., and personally been a part of many, many wonderful reunions between the dogs or cats and their soldiers or families. Terri Crisp, the program director, is a remarkable woman. Her vision and persistence made it possible for the first dog, Charlie, to come to the U.S. from the war zone of Iraq to be with his soldier in his forever home. Since then over 500 dogs and cats have come "home". I am the lucky one to be a part of this program. It has changed me.
Having volunteered my spare time for many years to various NGO's across the Middle East region and further a field. I have had been fortunate to meet a lot of experienced and knowledgeable people from many walks of life.
Just over a year ago I moved to Iraqi Kurdistan, prior to my move I did some research into animal welfare and see if there was some way I could help. One name constantly appeared in my search, SPCA-I. I contacted them and they shared all their information and contacts with me. I have offered my services on a few of their missions now. I have helped them with transporting dog and cats back to the US.
The last mission they were on involved a TNR project, their second one, at the US Consulate and included the re-homing of 16 dogs and cats in the US.
It was a privilege and a pleasure to volunteer with SPCA-I and meet other volunteers from the US and Canada who unselfishly gave their time to both aspects of the mission.
In only 4 days 39 cats were trapped, sterilisied and return back onto the streets form where they came.
It was evident to me that without the forward thinking, immaculate organisation of all the logistics of the operations, supplying meds, equipment and resources that all the aspects of the mission would not have been as successful as it was. Even when airline companies let them down, SPCA-I resolved the problem with little or no stress to their volunteers and more importantly the animals in their care.
I would not hesitate to volunteer with SPCA-I again. A truly well organised and successful experience for all concerned.
Thank you for allowing me to be part of your missions.
Colin Ball.
I volunteered with SPCA International to help at Dog Condo in Thailand. It was some of the hardest work I have ever done, but at the same time extremely rewarding. When I first saw the place, I thought how in the world are we going to be able to do something to help. The place was a total mess. But our group of volunteers, under the guidance of SPCA International staff member Terri Crisp, kept at it and by the time we left 8 days later we had made a difference. I was very proud of what we accomplished and I hope to work with SPCA International again in the future. This is an organization that is really trying to make a difference, often tackling projects that no one else wants to take on.
I have volunteered with SPCA International for almost four years. During this time, I have traveled to the Middle East to bring dogs and cats to the United States for members of the armed forces. Each time I have made the trip, I am honored and proud to be a part of this program. When I have witnessed the animals that traveled with me, reunited with their "person" I have felt an unmatched joy. These dogs and cats have helped so many U.S. service members cope with life in the war zone and back home. I can't imagine how different their lives would be, as well as the lives of their war time buddies, if Operation Baghdad Pups had not been there to save them all.
Being an active volunteer for the Operation Baghdad Pups program since 2008, I know first hand the amazing work SPCAI does. I have made numerous trips to the Middle East to bring back solders companions. What SPCAI has done for the soldiers and their animals is beyond words. I have witnessed the reunion once the animal reaches the U.S., so I know then we have done good. The bond is overwhelmingly apparent when the two connect for the first time on American soil and the animal knows he was not left behind. I have also volunteered with SPCAI in Thailand at the Dog Condo. We gave our blood, sweat and tears, worked closely with the caregivers and left there feeling rewarded at the difference we made.
I am currently an SPCA International, Operation Baghdad Pups volunteer on a mission in Erbil, Iraq. I previously had the opportunity to assist the organization with some groundwork in Washington, D.C. However, it was during this trip to Iraq that I have been able to see the impact of the program first hand. During the first few days of our mission, we conducted a TNR project at the U.S. Consulate. We even trapped and sterilized 10 cats from the U.N.! You wouldn't believe the love and adoration that these contractors and consulate/UN personnel have for the cats living on the compound. The cats come to be their family while away from their own. It was a great experience being able to spay and neuter their "children" and assist in the recovery process. The other aspect of our mission is to bring back retired working dogs to the U.S. It has been wonderful to be part of this process and allow these dedicated working dogs to live out the rest of their days in loving homes. The SPCAI staff and my fellow volunteers could not be more dedicated to the cause and it has been the experience of a lifetime working with them! I can't wait for the opportunity to do it again!
In 2010 Operation Baghdad Pups helped my wife and I (duel military spouses) get some kittens home to North Carolina from Southern Baghdad. We cannot imagine life without our sweet Tigger and Tiger. They are so sweet and snuggly and now weigh a whopping 20 pounds! We just could not leave them in Iraq in that terrible war torn environment. Thanks to Operation Baghdad Pups we saved them! Later during another deployment in Egypt spanning from 2012 to 2013 we called on our friends from Operation Baghdad Pups. The SPCA International helped us and 5 other Soldiers serving overseas. Together we were able to save 4 puppies and 1 adult dog from certain death in Egypt. The 4 puppies have since grown into beautiful and loving family members here in North Carolina. The 1 adult dog is living it up in the mountains of NC right now after receiving a surgery to remove a rope embedded in his neck skin. His days of Egyptian street abuse are over thanks to our friends in Operation Baghdad Pups and the SPCA International. Many thanks to you guys! You are all awesome! -Ben and Kayla
As a member of the Board of Directors of Playa Animal Rescue, I have had the pleasure of working with SPCA International and in particular Lori Kalef. Lori and SPCA International were a tremendous help to Playa Animal Rescue (PAR) by funding a grant for PAR to help pay for a Hemogram machine which will enable our in-house veterinarian to do blood work, saving us money. The machine will also be offered to and utilized by another Playa del Carmen, Mexico area rescue organization, Coco's Cat Rescue. Without the $2000.00 grant from SPCA International, we would still be short of the money needed to purchase the Hemogram machine. I am honored to work with Lori and SPCA International and look forward to doing so in in the future!
I have worked with the SPCA international office in New York - what wonderful staff. Their dedication and commitment to saving the lives of animals across the globe is outstanding. They have traveled to countries to rescue animals that have been inhumanely treated and brought home animals for those who fight to keep us safe. This is truly a GREAT NONPROFIT. Thanks for the privilege of lending a helping hand.
I have had the best experience with SPCA International. They have been very responsive and helpful the times I have reached out to them to request help for shelters in need. They have also helped me and my fellow group of volunteers raise awareness of violations of animal rights when other organizations have ignored our requests.
My name is Fernando and I'm the Director of TerrAnimal, an animal protection organization from Ecuador www.terranimal.ec
My experience with SPCA-I was just the best. They have supported several spaying and neutering campaigns for companion animals in very poor zones, and I must say that the professionalism, the love for the cause and the understanding of different social realities represent the basis on where our activities in favor of animals were sustained.
Were are developing new projects and looking forward to work with SPCA-I again.
Welcome. SPCA Polish tem was established two years we are about 50 people, including 20 hard working. At first it was hard to lack of money and an old car that still tipped to repair. But above all, love of animals and desire to help ceasing caused that did not give up.
Last year, in 2012 we asked for help from the SPCA International. We were welcomed with a big heart. With the financial assistance of the International SPCA have a new car and the SPCA INTERNATIONAL account where we can write about our activities and our animals, and about how we save them, and above all, we have gained new friends who are as much as we love animals.

If you google SPCAI you will read a lot of negative reports. This is my candid and personal experience with this organization. In two years, over 2,000 animals have been spayed/neutered with their financial support. In addition, we have received invaluable medication for the less fortunate animals. Medication that not even the pharmaceutical companies want to donate, yet SPCAI, with their connections, are able to distribute worldwide. The medication is not expired nor damaged. When their representatives came down, they showed a genuine interest in the animals welfare. All what they talked and did was about improving animal welfare. From my experience and observation, SPCAI is true to its mission. And by the way, we have never received from them calculators, pens or calendars.
Where do I begin?! I became a volunteer for SPCA International through the Operation Baghdad Pups program. My husband sent a puppy home to me when he was deployed to Iraq through this program. I was lucky enough to had Terri Crisp personally escort my "little girl" home when I picked her up. Since meeting and speaking with Terri personally, I became very excited to become a volunteer and help other soldiers bring home their new found "friends" to their forever homes. I have seen, first hand, the programs that were beginning to be setup in Iraq to educate not only adults but also children to change their thinking about dogs and how they are companions and loyal friends.
As a pet lover, this is the most meaningful and exciting experience I've ever had as a volunteer. I always look forward to the emails from Terri asking me to assist in anyway I can. The people I have worked with, both staff and other volunteers, through SPCAI are all wonderful and knowledgeable and have huge hearts when it comes to animals of all kinds, not just dogs and cats. I can't say enough about it!
I can assure you that this SPCA International isn't a scam. They were recommended to me and my husband from a friend that saw an article with military.com (http://www.military.com/spouse/military-relocation/pcs-moves/spca-helps-milfams-keep-their-pets.html). They helped us pay for the transportation of our dogs when the Army relocated us to Norway.
I don't know where to begin !!!!
I have been a volunteer for several years now and have participated in helping at the kennel and in bringing dogs home for soilders.
Operation Baghdad Pups is the most wonderful program ! To see the faces of these men and women , when they are reunited with the animals, that helped them through the war, is incredible !
I have personally seen the humanitarian efforts that this orginization has completed.
They have made a difference in many countries such as Thailand, with education and spay and neuter clinics.
I can't say enough great things about this orginazation and the good that I have seen with my own two eyes !
I have volunteered with Operation Baghdad Pups over the years. Their staff is great and I've seen firsthand the animals they've saved. I think SPCAI is a a great organization that is worthy of everyone's support!
I have just become familiar with this organization but have noticed that they are extremely giving and accomodating. They are truly in it to help animals and to educate people on improving animal welfare.
This organization has helped so many of the smaller organizations around the world that most people aren't even aware of. They help them to get noticed and get their feet on the ground in times of disaster and need. They are in it for the animals.

Almost NOTHING of what they collect goes towards helping animals!

This organization is focused on one thing - enriching itself and promoting an agenda that has nothing to do with helping animals. They mislead by showing ads with dogs and cats in deplorable conditions with pleading eyes that tug at your emotions to get you to donate and then they spend ALL of your money ON THEMSELVES. Don't give them a dime. If you want to help animals, please donate to your LOCAL animal shelters where the real work is being done to save and protect God's creatures.

I received an enormous free package from them in the mail with a calculator (ummmm ok), pen, and calendar book. Now why I would need/ want any of that is beyond me. I was rather disturbed by it all since having worked in the manufacturing industry i know that this stuff wasn't cheap. My fist thought was, why the H*LL are they wasting their money sending ME this junk?! i'm a very dedicated animal rights advocate, vegetarian, and sustainable design artist so charities that work to better the lives of animals are always welcome, however i HATE it when they waste their money on ads and 'free gifts.' i saw fist hand that this 'charity' is a scam and not even interested in really helping animals. I'm planing to write to them directly to take me OFF their mailing list. I will never and have never supported them and will advise other to avoid them as well. There are many wonderful charities out there and my 2 favorites are the Humane Society of the United States, Humane Society International. This one is a NO. 0 stars is what this scam charity should get.

SPCAI is a complete scam. This rip-off outfit won't leave my elderly mother-in-law alone. I've called their number (888-690-7722) but it only goes to a recording and they never respond. I've also sent them messages via their website, but they won't respond to them either.
If anyone finds an active phone number or email address for them, please post it here.

My story is the same as a prior reviewer. I started getting 'give me' letters from this group and then they sent me a calculator, pocket calendar, and pen with my name on a sticker. I NEVER give to groups that send me junk I didn't order. I feel that extra money should go to the 'cause' not junk. Glad to find out my feelings were correct and this was another rip-off. Sorry to find out that all that money had been misdirected and could have been used by reputable animal groups. Isn't there SOME way to put these people in jail and get at least SOME of the money back?

i received a mailing from SPCA International that I found abhorrent. It included a desk calculator with the SPCA Global Animal Rescue and a cheap sticker with my name. It also included an SPCA pen and 2012-13 pocket daytimer. What a complete waste of money! Their letter mentions how a Sgt. Watson wrote to see if SPCA could help save an animal he found in Iraq. The poiont of the letter is that our troops are counting on us to help bring home the animals they have found and befriended. They go on to say we owe our freedoms to our servicemen and women, etc. From what I have read, I would not give this organization a dime and every time I use the calculator I will think of how they mismanage their money.

Per IRS form 990, Terri Crisp’s SPCA International received over 15 MILLION dollars in contributions in 2011… Much of this money was raised in support of the SPCAI "Baghdad Pups" campaign, yet only 3% was spent on this project. Over 6.5 MILLION DOLLARS was spent on "Independent Contractors". Most of that went for donor solicitation via Quadriga Art……Terri Crisp now wants even more donations from you for yet another scam, "Dog Condos" in Thailand...REALLY?
Lots of monies coming in but not many animals "saved" - stolen yes- but saved? Not really sure. I do know a rabid animal was brought to the States and others on plane had to be killed because of this neglect. Terri Crisp who heads up Baghdad Pups wit hthis group is a crook...she and her daughter! Just pull up last piece on her - Anderson Cooper 360! She is a piece of work! So is Pierre Barnotti - on the Board of Directors...what a past! and looks like he may be washing fundraising money with Quadriga Art!
