Programs: The organization is one of the largest performing arts organizations in the philadelphia region. It employs approximately 45 dancers and presents 52 performances of 6 productions each year, including 'the nutcracker'. Its repertoire includes both classic and contemporary works which are performed annually to an audience of approximately 100,000 patrons, of which approximately 5,000 are subscribers.
the school of pennsylvania ballet provides the highest level of ballet training for its students and exposes students to the world of professional dance through regular interaction with company members and artistic staff and performance opportunities with the company.
pennsylvania ballet's outreach and education program, community engagement, is a comprehensive educational and cultural experience designed to introduce traditionally under-served students to the art of ballet and to educate the ballet audience of the future. The basic program, which is provided at no cost to the participants, includes dance instruction, specially designed student workbooks, attendance at fully staged dress rehearsal performances, ticket giveaways for participating students and their families, school visits and studio tours. Over 10,000 children participate annually.
