Amazing human beings who care so deeply for people who struggle with addiction and mental health issues. They are incredibly because they had losses and despite that pain have turned to others who also experienced heartache. They truly are a God Sent to others.
They know this journey is painful but walk along many including families who have experienced the loss of there loved ones.

Thank you to never surrender hope for all the support they have brought to my family with the annual overdose awareness walk. This organization has helped so many families thru the trials of SUD. I have watched first hand how they have reached someone on the street, took care of detox thru recovery house all the time remaining accessible and patient. Literally saving lives while not outwardly boasting. I am proud to say I am a member of NSH.

NSH will be in my story and my heart forever. These women met me at my very worse, they showed me , acceptance, gave me hope, and unconditional love without ever judging me. They are these amazing angels whom never gave up me after I had continued over and over to give up on myself. After being my there for me through homelessness, jail, many rehabs and so many hospital stays, they continued to show me love even when I didn't look ce myself. This group has never given up on me, without them I wouldn't be almost two years clean. Even now in recovery they support and love me and show me guidance every step of the way. My kids who I now have BK in my life absolutely adore this group and all of them are our new family. This group loved me until I started to love myself. The devotion they have towards helping addicts or just any struggling human is unmatched.

I found this group shortly after my son passed away from an accidental overdose, while he was in recovery in Florida, during Covid. I had so many typed conversations with so many amazing people, that I can honestly say, they were able to save MY life. When you lose your child, the world ends. Or so I thought. Its been 4 years this month, and Ive learned to continue to live. I cant save the world, but Im not afraid to talk to addicts on the street to let them know my story. Im not afraid to encourage other parents to pray and hope and keep pushing forward. Addiction is an awful disease, but it also affects the loved ones of the person. I am so thankful NSH gave me hope to keep living on myself.

I lost my son on December 30, 2022. I had already been aware of the work that never surrender Hope does within the vulnerable community. I had had a little bit of experience working with Valerie at my job. And I knew that she had already lost a son. She had reached out to me after only knowing her for a few weeks and also showed up at my son’s funeral. The support from her was amazing. I then reached out to never surrender Hope for support at their meetings and their functions. The work that they do throughout the community for people who have lost children, or People and families who have family members in active addiction and are looking for support. The work that they do is endless. They have reached out and help so many people worked so hard to make people feel safe and comforted. This is an amazing foundation.

My son passed away from a overdose on December 30th 2022. I have previously heard of NSH by being part of the recovery community myself and also worked with the founder of the group. Police officer Valerie Felici. I have seen the efforts and support of this group all over the vulnerable community. First hand on the front lines. I never thought I would be the mother of a child who would lose their life on the streets of Kensington, but it happened. The support I received at my sons funeral was overwhelming, people I didn’t even know. It was so heartfelt. They didn’t know me, but they knew my pain. Then came flowers and CRFS to my house, phone calls, checking in on me and my family. Me and my family organized a fund raiser to give back to this wonderful non-profit organization. And so many people came to support it from NSH. Then me and my family attends our first ever NSH memorial walk. I was amazed and honored to be asked to be one of the speakers. The whole event made everyone feel like family. The attention to detail for our loved ones to be remembered was amazing. The work they do in the community of the families that are struggling to get their families member’s that are still here with us into treatment is endless. The take time to go above and beyond to help in all various ways. I am so grateful to know, help, give and receive all this organization has to offer.

NSH not only helps addicts, they are a godsend for families. The whole family is in recovery not just the person with SUD.
I don’t live in
the area and my son has been assisted with, rent, clothing and been guided through the process. Almost like a hug for him.
Valerie and Sally are always a phone call away for him. He shares good and bad with them and trusts them. He is on MAT this time around. He has outpatient therapy, probation, food stamps and Medicaid. He has been to a meeting every day since he was released from jail. He has a sponsor and has found a job. NSH is a comfort to me knowing he has them since I don’t live in the area. They have resources and know where to get the assistance he needs to be successful in his recovery. They are loving and accepting and non judgmental. The others on this group are always here for each other in good times and when we need their support. Thank you NSH. You have literally saved my sons life and our family will forever be in your debt.

This non-profit helped get my son find sobriety after being an addict for 10 years and the last year and few months, homeless on the streets of Kensington. They provided me with the support I needed to get through. If it wasn’t for this non-profit helping those in need, supporting the family and giving so much to all those struggling with kindness, respect, love and no judgment, me or my son wouldn’t be where we are today. Hope to what some consider the helpless. Open minds and hearts to those going through heartaches that you can’t imagine until you arrive. Tireless advice support and resources to those affected by addiction. I know so many of those that donate their time here and others in recovery that still reach out for help or guidance here or now their support for those in recovery. There isn’t a better organization that remains true to their purpose without political purpose. I urge you to support the only organization I’ve ever been a part to support this one and keep it moving forward. Like helping when someone goes to rehab and giving food and help to the recovery Houses or just giving someone a hug after they have lost their child or wife or husband after they have overdosed . It a devastating feeling when you lose someone to a overdose . And this organization in there in every way they can be I love all the representatives of the organization and wouldn't know what I would do with out all of them .

I joined NSH last year and I have witnessed the 100's who have been received Hope bags, good and clothing. More importantly the men and women are passionate and compassionate to all who they cross paths with. A hug, a "how are you doing today", a conversation has lit up every face they are in contact with. It is incredible what is given back to the members from those they comfort because they don't feel worthy of love. NSH members also look for the sons, daughters, fathers, mothers and any other family member they are asked for by families posting their loved ones on their FB page who are living on the streets. From help with resumes for myself and my roommates, dropping off prepared breakfast, making sure we had groceries, to helping myself and another roommate provide Christmas for our children. This kids had gifts to open on Christmas Day in their mothers recovery house, definitely making that Christmas much more bright. Ears to listen, hugs, and household items when I moved into a home and got my girls back from foster care. Valerie and NSH, I swear on everything, are a huge reason I was able to get on my feet and eventually get an apartment, which was the first time having a place of my own. I had no where to go from a rehab, a friend of mine gave me their info and they got me into a paid recovery house and paid a few weeks of rent which really helped me get on my get. they do so much good for the people that are turky in need and want to actually change their lives. if I had a non profit, it would be run similar to NSH , I admire what they do. that scholarship have me a safe place to go and not have to worry about the first few weeks of rent which allowed me to get a head start in my savings and eventually I. got my apartment all on my own. NSH deserves to be recognized as a top non profit in the city of Philadelphia, because they do the work that needs to be done, for real. thank you forever, Val and NSH

This group is absolutely amazing! Anytime day or night I needed help with my son they were there for him and my family, from giving him clothing and food, rides to programs as well or even just locating him to talk and let him know that he was loved and supported. Honestly the love and timeless hours spent helping my son gave me and my family many more months with my son and when he passed away he wasn’t alone on the streets he was here with family and we spent the best weekend with him and he felt loved and not alone and I will remember that always! Even now this group is always here for my family to listen and share memories with us and that is what we all need in such a heartbreaking time. This wonderful group asks for nothing but continues to give everything they have and I have never met such wonderful people like this who care about everyone and spend every waking moment helping them. This is an amazing group about not only loss of dear loved ones to addiction, but incredible and seemingly unlimited support and uplift to those still struggling with addiction, and their families and friends. I can't say enough wonderful things about the group's founders and organizers. I have been sober and clean in recovery since 2011, and this group has helped me, and also allowed me to support others. Never Surrender Hope is a Fantastic Group. They help the downtrodden of Philadelphia by providing clothing and food. On outings, a few vehicles of members drive to these areas, mostly inhabited by addicts and homeless, provide hot meals, snacks, toiltries and clothing all of which are prepared by other members. Even during covid, while not being able to get together like normal, there are still a few members who travel to these areas to provide for these folks food and other items donated by other members as well as taking meals to Recovery Houses and homeless shelters. I have no problem donating food and occasional funds to this group. I have seen, in person, the good works these folks do. They also speak to the addicts and try to talk to them about sobriety and getting into rehab. On my very first outing, I met a young man named Daniel. One of the volunteers worked to get him into rehab after a conversation with him. I believe Daniel has a year sober now. That is FANTASTIC! This program WORKS.

I am on the board of this amazing caring group. When we are not doing outings feeding, spreading hope to homeless addicts we have been helping at the local food pantry. Preparing meals for shut ins in our community and delivering food to recovery houses weekly.
We Send notes and cards to people we help get into treatment letting them know we are here for them. Our support group meetings twice a month is an amazing way to let people know they are not alone whether their loved ones are In recovery or still in active addiction.
We jump in where ever we are needed. I am honored to be part of such a caring group.

Where do i begin... The people in this group have helped in so many ways. Theyve made sure the recovery house i managed had food on a weekly basis. When I was in early sobriety, they helped provide not only gifts for my 2 daughters, but with a tree and stockings also for the recovery house i managed. Theyve checked up on me. Theyve listened to me complain. They encouraged me on my darkest days. When i couldnt find a job they always gave me words of encouragement. Theyve visited the house i just got. And they were some of the first people I texted when I got back legal custody of my daughters. They have been such an inperstive part of my recovery journey. And i am forever grateful for the people they are.

I have heard that hope without tenacity is merely optimism. This group undoubtedly qualifies as the former. There is an unquenchable fire of love in the heart of its members; with the grace of God at its core, Never Surrender Hope is a beacon of light amidst the chaos and pain of the Opiod Epidemic.

Never Surrender Hope is a great place for anyone to go to for support! The best thing about NSH is there is never no judgment. They welcome you with open arms. It’s not just for those who are going through the battle of addiction, but the families who need advice who might not understand how to approach things. Everyone is always nice. They spread so much awareness to the cause.

This group is AMAZING .......They are dedicated to helping each and every person to live a healthy and clean life.. I have seen the group make bagels up in bags with a snack and drink. To give to hurting strangers. Also give them a wash cloth, with shower items. For a church that lets homeless shower. Also take from there own pocket to buy hamburger if they didn't have enough for everyone. Even making bed mats out of plastic bags, so they don't have to sleep on streets. It's endless what this group is capable of

dding. They will change the world with their love and dedication.

Never Surrender Hope is a group of amazing, selfless and caring people who will do anything in their power to help those in need. I’m so honored to be a part of something that is doing such wonderful things by being an ear to listen and smile to brighten someone’s day on the street, getting those who are ready for help into treatment, as well as helping family members cope with their loved ones disease. They offer a judgement free and safe space to talk about what is going on their social media page as well as monthly support meetings.

This group has helped me tremendously in my own growth and healing from losing a loved one. I am so thankful to all of the members of Never Surrender Hope for the work that they are doing for our community.

I can't even begin to start from when it started for my family. Just know it's real bad for my daughter. I went on for well over a year before someone introduced me to Never Surrender Hope. I started going on outings, making hope bags and giving out food and more. While my daughter is an active drug addict and is spotted from time to time. I have not seen her and miss her sooo much. This group lets me help other parents, brother, sisters and more of people in active addiction on the streets to be able to talk to us. We feed them and clothe them. Thank you Never Surrender Hope for opening your lives. It means so much to me.

It grabs our kids and loved ones by their souls. Never Surrender Hope is out there in the trenches helping our families to get through to the next day. Giving them some dignity when these drugs have taken it away. Who knows, tomorrow may be the day your loved one finds their way to a program. Let's Never Surrender Hope!!!

Thos is an amazing group that has helped me out alot. I've been dealing with my daughters addiction for 6 years and it's a horrible emotional rollercoaster that feel alone or ashamed by. I have tried multiple groups with no luck until about a year ago I attended a Never Surrender Hope meeting and I just listened at first but made a decision to go to another meeting the following month and have been going ever since. I didn't feel unwanted or worried about repeating myself over and over or ashamed of my daughters addiction. This group has taught me so much it may not of giving me the answers I wanted but it helped me realize I'm never going to get them because everyone is different and what works for one doesn't fit another. Also there is no judgement everyone has different ways of dealing with this disease and has different opinions and it's not held against you. There are so many people in this group that you can reach out to at anytime and someone will be there for you. I'm so glad I found this group.

I owe my life to Never Surrender Hope. During the darkest time of my life, after I lost my 19 year old son to an overdose, they welcomed me with open arms. Through this group of selfless people, who do all that they do in their spare time, I have learned to take the unfathomable pain of losing my boy and rise up to fight in his name against the very thing that took his life. Continuously giving up their spare time to be advocates for those suffering from SUD but also the families. The forum they provide with their social media page, allows for a safe place to vent frustrations and sorrow, as well as successful recovery. No one is omitted. Never do they yield on finding best care facilities for those in need. Providing care packages and donations to the sick and suffering and traveling to the heart of the city, where drugs and the epidemic we are faced with today are so very prominent. Administration all have lived experience with SUD and are empathetic, compassionate, and passionate about helping others as if they were their own. In a world that can be very self centered today,Never Surrender Hope is a bright shining light!!!

I began my involvement with this group by donating some clothes from my husband that no longer fit him. At that time, I had no idea what the group was about. The gal, (also a volunteer), who was collecting the clothes, suggested that I go onto Facebook and look up the group & their mission. I did just that and found a group of the kindest, warmest, caring, giving, trusting, concerned and genuine individuals I've EVER had the good fortune to meet. Each & every member is supportive of one another. The support extends to the folks on the streets, in re-hab, shelters and in homes. No task seems to be unattainable. Never Surrender Hope is truly what this group and its members are all about.

This group has encouraged, fed , hugged and loved my son like their own.
They took him to treatment, stayed for hours while waiting with him for a rehab bed and THEN , they did it again , AND again until he was ready to surrender to this demon. At that point they sent him letters and cards and hugs by proxy!
All the while , they helped me, talked to me, gave me strength, friendship and hope. It got to a point where I had become ill from the codepency and they truly stepped in and took my place in a much healthier way than I could
Currently he’s getting ready to complete his treatment. And we’ve made new friends In all these ladies!
They are truly selfless!
We love you girls ❤️❤️
