Mission: The pasadena playhouse state theater of california is a non-profit organization whose mission is to enrich peoples lives through theater. Our programmatic offerings include theatrical productions, community outreach programs, and theater learning opportunities.
Programs: The main stage season included the classic musical the fantasticks, a new development production god looked away, two plays the originalist and hold these truths, as well as a world premiere musical shout sister shout. The theater also produced a holiday panto musical based on the story of cinderella. Community@play provided free tickets and workshops to thousands of members of the community with barriers to the arts including local title i public school students and members of local service organizations. Other community events included the day of the dead street celebration and the holiday tree lighting ceremony. All community events were offered free to the public. The playhousetalks learning program engaged thousands of audience members through postshow activities connecting experts on themes and ideas presented on the stage to audience members following every performance of two of our productions, the originalist and hold these truths.
