This organization is made up of women that want to help those who are less fortunate. They are always searching for ways to improve the lives of others. It provides both an enjoyable and gratifying opportunity for its volunteers. The thrift store, Treasure Fair, offers a wide variety of clean and unique items for sale.

I appreciate the support I have received. It has been helpful to know I am not alone in my struggles with cancer.

The work Niños del Lago has been doing the last 3 years has made a difference in the life of many children. <br>Education, nutrition and inspiration to improve their lifes.

Pasadena Meals on Wheels is a reliable source of well prepared and balanced meals for my 98 year old mother in Pasadena. My mother lives alone and manages many things well, but meal preparation had become too much for her. Meals on Wheels allows her to continue her life style as she wishes, a proud and independent woman. The staff is responsible and accessible. The volunteers provide a welcome human contact. There is great variety of food, and it is very well prepared and ready to eat. Pasadena Meals on Wheels is run and staffed by Angels.

I will always be grateful for The Haven House. In June 1982 I was guided there by the City of Industry Sheriffs Department with 4 children, one only being 3 months old 3 others under 8 years I’m 70 years old now, and I always will cherish the compassion and kindness that was given to us. We stayed 4 months and reunited with my husband. Eventually we divorced in 1995. I have HH in my living trust to give back when I leave this earth God Bless ?????? this treasure of love

Shepherd Door is such a great place to find yourself. They have helped me learn self awareness and they are helping me grow. Ms. Tunisia and Mrs. Linda were great teachers and I feel like they really care about their clients. I am glad I picked Shepherd Door to complete my court ordered DV classes.

Christy and the team are all heart when it comes to DayOne! <br>They genuinely care about the community and work eagerly to put on so many family & educational events to enrich the community and create a safe outlet for our youth! I am so grateful for all the dedication and hard work that is exerted by the entire staff! Keep up the GREAT WORK!! Thank you for all you day for our community DayOne!! YOU ROCK!!

I wouldn't give a penny to this supposed 'Christian' organization. I contacted them years ago, when I was desperate to change my life in the sex industry and turning my life over to the Lord. I didn't have much money and also had a developing medical bone issue I was born with. Thank God- a non-for- profit group of surgeons agreed to do my surgery for free (Operation Walk- support them!). A woman from GA, who's name I don't remember (Mary maybe?), at first, litened compassionately to my story- every detail. Then she started changing in her 'approach', telling me I needed to 'stand naked' before God (seriously?) in a very condescending way. I needed help with bills and was chastised for even asking. I was eventually connectd to a woman who lived in my city. She was very kind (at first) and her church (who did help fix my laptop) also had a food bank. This was a very big church with lots of pricey cars in the parking lot and located in a very pricey neighborhood. They had a 'food bank' and, because I couldn't even afford food, I was, at first,thankful for.. Not going into excactly what they gave me to live on, the largest item of food was a cake (?!). It was all sugar and nothing I could even make a meal with but I tried to be thankful. I gave this woman my big bag of gummy bears (yes-maybe they would be turned to bread?). The F.M. woman was constantly critical and dismissed the immense amount of pain I was in and, in no way, would they help ('do you expect us to pay for your bills? Umm-where is their money going?'). I thought, maybe, the 'nice' woman that I met who had lived close to me, would maybe want to see a movie or something. That's when she changed. I guess I wasn't 'good enough' for her to associate with and she shared that with another organization she was involved with- right on their website, on the front page, using my real name (!!) They never unerstood my depression, my medical issue- which turned out to be very real-or even tried to help me get out' of my situation. They made me feel even more worthless and filled with shame. I hated myself and was even considering ending my life. Thankfully, I met some non- religous organizations who,literally,saved me life (with financial aide, therapy and medication). I have my own relationship with God and am so turned off to any religion now. These people are hypocrites. It took me years to get to this place where I could post something. Please do not suport this organazation> They caused me nothing but harm. But I forgive them.

I can hardly begin to describe what miserable person runs this rescue. And...1 star isn't a low enough score. I adopted my dog from the owner of Mutts & Mom's in January 2015. I continued to support her after she was forced to close her pet store (Paw Boutique) for 4 years, by buying my dog food directly from her and boarding my rescued Pit bull with her when I went out of town for work. When my dog got out on Dec 19 2018 I called her first. She never returned my call but she berated me on text and told me I didn't deserve to have the dog. I have never loved an animal like I did Vaquera, the sweetest Pit Bull I have ever known. I was tormented for 22 months and spent thousands of dollars trying to recover my beloved pup. I have NEVER stopped searching for her. On Oct 30 2020 I found out that Marina had rehomed my dog through her friends rescue the Barking Lot in El Cajon and then claimed we had some agreement that would allow her to just take my dog from me at will and give it to some other family. This dog was part of my family and I have been tormented for almost 2 years over her absence. What is wrong with a person who would deliberately put another human through this kind of pain and suffering. My dogs are my kids and there are no words to describe the agony I have experienced because of her entitled evil behavior.<br>I have heard so many miserable stories before about Marina, but now I have my own.

Being not only a delegate, but a staff member at TACSC is one of my favorite things to do. It gives me something to look forward to because I get to bond with kids my age, but middle schoolers, too. I teach them valuable leadership skills infused with Catholic teachings, and it is so fulfilling to see all of my work being radiated out of these kids, who then share it with their schools. I highly, highly recommend sending your children, donating, or reaching out to be a staff member at TACSC because you will gain Catholic, life, and leadership skills that will make you into a better person.

If you have the opportunity to participate in Leadership Pasadena, do it! It was an incredible experience, full of opportunities for professional growth, deep connections, and lasting personal impact. I HAVE BEEN INTERESTED IN THE FRANCES MOORE LAPPÉ and Colleagues work since the 70' and 80' due their Books "Diet for a Small Planet" and "Food First!", from which in a some 'underground' way small nunber of copies circulated in my country CHILE, due the born of the "Vegetarian" and "Permaculture" movement in those years.<br><br>Also recently I have knower of a recently Book by Frances named "From an Economic Mind to an Ecological Mind" in which I also very interested for a work of "Green Publications and Media" that I am preparing and doing .... and for which - together - with some other "Green Authors - I am of You very Grateful - Keep Up with Your very Good Work! :- )

How what I wanted to be as a child led me here<br>I asked myself, 'What did I want to be as a child? What inspired me?' I remembered what made me cry as a child. I recalled commercials of emaciated children living in third world countries, of skeletal dogs roaming the streets looking for food, and of homeless people and the elderly left alone, forgotten. Then, I thought I want to be a public relations director. I want to tell their stories. Upon realizing this, I found myself working at Hillsides, a Pasadena-headquartered child welfare agency that serves vulnerable children, youth, and families in Los Angeles, within one week. I am living my childhood passion to tell stories while doing good for a cause that means a great deal to me. Not only do I work there, I give too. I give because I believe in the mission to create lasting change whether it is through mental health, special education, or transitional housing. I know what it's like to seek help in troubling times, to feel like you are alone, and to assert your voice when a child is in need of special education. The training and advocacy we do at Hillsides, http://www.Hillsides.org, has also prepared me to be a better mom for my two sons. For those reasons, I give where my heart is.

I've always wanted to save the world, with American Woman for International Understanding I get to do it.<br>My friends and I raise money and distribute it to women and organizations worldwide, who are working to make the lives of women, girls, and families better, safer, and healthier. It makes me feel happy to know I am helping to make the world a better place.<br>I have been volunteering as a director, donating dollars and time since 2013. <br>Women and girls in the United States can drive, go to school, choose who they marry, inherit, and own property. Encompass is an unprecedented organization dedicated to raising awareness about race, gender, and sexual orientation and the ways in which teachers can better address their own prejudices in the classroom. As the parent of two children who have taken the Encompass class at LACHSA, I feel so indebted to Lori Nelson and Kevin Blake for their leadership, compassion, and skill in teaching educators and students the importance of respecting and embracing differences. I hope their program will be funded and rolled out in more public and private schools. We need Encompass values more than ever in our ever-changing world.

Descriminatory practices of this foundation, they have preferential treatment to people of color even when they drive bran new cars and don't show need, they pick and choose who they give stuff to, most times, please if you are going to donate please first go undercover and check this place is deplorable, and they self-serve themselfs

I loved teaching ESL classes. My students were eager and appreciative. Also, they were from all over the world; I learned so much from them. My favorite moments were when students from different countries spoke to one another in English.

Today, I was greeted and tended to by the most compassionate and patient people. These people, my people, were sensitive to the stressful nature of my injuries and concerns. The women and men that I interacted with were phenomenal and knowledgeable. Decades ago, Pasadena closed the other hospital in the city. Leaving all of their citizens with only one accessible hospital and limited transport to them. Today, I witnessed people getting in and out of the hospital in record time and the waiting room was packed. The other remarkable component was that the staff, the doctors, the orderlies, even the housekeepers/ hospital keepers were actually working. AND I DO NOT MEAN FINDING THINGS TO DO!!!! These folks were real people with real responsibilities and they were executing them without complaint. Although I do not step foot in many hospitals, I do step foot into many resorts. This hospital was resort like.... but a resort that includes everyone. People always joke about the crazy people in hospitals. There may have been one or two but the staff was thorough and insightful in getting them to the right wards. And might I add, today is LABOR DAY!!!!!! Thank you to all the EMT's, firefighters, doctors, nurses, orderlies, security officers, maintenance crew, receptionists, valet attendants, radiology technicians, PCA's, assistants, basically everyone that made today such an exceptional experience given the circumstances.

I am a volunteer at the museum and love coming to the various events and exhibits. <br>All the staff are wonderful and fun to work with.

In 1996, I hit my bottom. I knew I couldn't stop drinking without going into seizures, so I went to my physician and 'fessed up. He admitted me to the hospital for detox and, unbeknownst to me, he worked with hospital substance abuse staff to obtain a scholarship for me for the 28-day inpatient rehab program. Underwrite-A-Recovery came through for me. On March 9, 2015, I celebrated my 19th year of sobriety. UAR is a huge part of that success. As I told the director a few months later, the 28-day rehab made all the difference in the world. Without it, I wouldn't have had time to "get with the program". I owe a debt of gratitude to UAR, the Share Unit of the now-defunct St. Luke's Hospital, to my Higher Power and to myself. I don't believe I'd be sober or maybe even alive without the generosity of the Underwrite-A-Recovery organization.

<br>LAIM provides a service hard to find -- it is willing to channel funds to small, grass-roots organizations in developing countries, and does so with integrity and efficiency. I am very grateful for their obvious caring and the effort they put into serving the most needy.

This is a wonderful organization that provides loving and caring homes and education with a Christian foundation to orphans from the AIDS crisis in Kenya. The Director has thoughtfully created a healthy environment to help each child succeed in their lives. Funds are carefully budgeted and used appropriately. I have donated to them for over a decade and highly recommend them.

I have been listening for years to the NPR programming and started donating during fund drives. KPCC made a major commitment in 2006 to move off the Pasadena City College campus to a custom built facility with significant broadcast facility expansion. As this was being built, two major donors allowed for construction of a very professional work and administrative space and a flexible space to conduct free community educational events. Their local reporting has fast become my favorite part of membership. Once we took our first tour and learned of the amazing journalists Bill Davis is hiring we new that we had to increase our level of donation. 'No rant no slant' is their slogan and it is apt. We get the best and most unbiased reporting of events significant to our lives from KPCC - without them we would be lost. Because print journalism is reducing great staff, it is a field day for KPCC to gain well connected and highly experienced reporters, editors and executives and they are doing it in a big way. We are SOLD!
