Mission: A simple but powerful promise unifies New Yorkers: that anyone, from anywhere, with a dream and the desire can rise to the top. It is all those dreamers, from every corner of the world, who give New York its special energy, just as it is the athletes whose dreams generate the power of the Olympic Games. New York is now America's Bid City, officially endorsed by the President and the U.S. Congress. We are joined by four of the world's great cities (London, Madrid, Moscow and Paris) for the last stretch of this rigorous international competition with the final decision on the winning Host City being announced by the International Olympic Committee on July 6, 2005. We are determined to realize the tremendous potential of the Olympic Games to provide a long-term boost to our economy, transform neighborhoods, and leave a legacy for New Yorkers for generations to come. The Olympic bid will unite the city with a common vision at a unique and challenging time, celebrating the renewal of New York?s promise, and spurring the city on to greater heights.
