Mission: The morning center was started in 2011 to provide free full-service prenatal and maternity care to women in urban and under-served areas. It started as a project of samaritan ministries international, a 501(c)(3) christian charity which among other activities operates a health care sharing ministry. See irc section 5000(a)(d)(2)(b). The morning center seeks to return charitable maternity care to a private, patient-centered model.
Programs: During the fiscal year the following services were provided: provided free, full-service maternity care for 125 patients and their babies, including delivery care; served a total of 414 women with free prenatal consultations and ultrasounds (up 60% from previous year); provided 2,205 maternity care appointments and interactions with patients (up 85% from previous year); offered program services at 4 clinic locations in the memphis area; held events in atlanta, memphis, and peoria where morning center had booths and/or offered information and ultrasounds.
