Catherine Hedges, founded this "rescue" after being fired from Furry Friends foundation for hoarding animals. She supervised the shelter yet claimed she was an unpaid volunteer. She also claimed when she was found to have cancer she was forced to resign or have her heath insurance stipened.
DBMB, placed difficult dogs that she even claimed were "dog reactive" and cat unfriendly in un-experienced dog handlers hands. They didn't educate fosters and when a foster home felt they weren't trying hard enough to place the dog, she removed dogs without regard to the dogs well being.
The rescue must be registered with the state as a 501c3 organization and this one is not, yet they claim they are on their site.

This is for you fact checkers. No IRS reporting for 3 years. People will put this blame on Curt solely ,but really he had 4 Dui's (2/15/2007-12/13/11 ,first before DBMB even existed, according to above link, last one while he was still with DBMB). The "rescue " was well aware of what kind of person he was. The founder was was his fiance/live in girlfriend when she died. She left the animals in his care! There are people who obviously have no sense or are plain delinquent in running this place, and /or choosing appropriate people to put their beloved pets in the care of. They enabled the death of over 70 animals!
A fostered dog, Carmen, through this agency was one of the victims and suffered unimaginable cruelty at the direct hands of a person on the board of this agency. I feel it is extremely important people know their shelter/agency when they foster or adopt a dog. If you contact me directly, I can give you in detail what this agency put Carmen and her foster parents through. Please never let an agency convince you to take a dog! This agency is known for marking "urgent" etc on their posts to pull at your heart strings and make you feel you have to take this dog in order to save his/her life. Please do not support this agency!! There are some great ones out there who take really good care of their animals and know their limits.
