Causes: Mental Health
Mission: To promote groundbreaking ideas and create opportunities for resilience and recovery by applying the knowledge learned from the people we support, employ, and engage in transformative partnerships.
Programs: Advocacy programming: ican (involved consumer action network) provides a variety of technical assistance services to more than 100 self-help mental health participant organizations in all areas of pennsylvania; advocacy to those with mental illness in the aging population; compeer peer mental health services; advocacy for people leaving prisons to reenter the community; and representative payee services for those unable to manage their own finances; peer support services: these services offer community-based peer support for people diagnosed with with mental illness by providing friendship, social support and meaningful leisure-time activities; parents involved network: teaching parents how to advocate for their children, research policy and advocacy changes.
recovery and education centers: offer support groups, social gatherings, and educational opportunities. They also provide referrals to housing and job opportunities, entitlement and other services in the community.
residential/case management services: transitional housing for homeless people with mental illness or co-occuring disorders including drug addictions; providing intensive case management services to individuals diagnosed with serious mental illness, including linking them with housing, behavioral health and medical treatment and vocational services.
