I volunteered once to help out during their Outreach at Love Lot. The amount of work this group gets done is incredible and shows when it was distributed I will also say that even though I was the “newbie” I was welcomed and felt like part of the team
I volunteer with Socks for the Streets. It is an amazing organization. It is an all volunteer nonprofit. Every donation we receive goes back into the streets. We are dedicated to helping the homeless and people suffering from SUD in Kensington and the Northeast. We help anyone who needs help.
As a long-time supporter of Declan's Socks For The Streets, I've experienced firsthand the incredible impact they have on our community. Their dedication to the Homeless Community and to those suffering from Substance Use Disorder is truly inspiring, and the tangible results they achieve with every dollar donated are remarkable. I especially appreciate their transparency in communication and clear focus on making a real difference in people's lives."
Declan's Socks For The Streets has completely transformed the lives of many individuals in our Communities through their boots on the ground outreach and meal programs. Their staff is incredibly passionate and committed to providing food, clothing, wound care kits, hygiène kits and most importantly advocacy to rehabilitation, the positive impact on the community is undeniable. I wholeheartedly recommend supporting their efforts.
Socks for the street is a great charity. Declan a teen from northeast Philadelphia has given so much of his time to help those in need. Not only does he collect socks. He feeds the homeless with his family. Helps with toys for tots. What an amazing young man!! Wish more of our young people would follow in his footsteps. Thank you for all your hard work Declan!!
Socks for the streets has so many kind and special people in their network. They never hesitate to lend a helping hand. They show that no matter what anyone is going through (addiction, mental illness, homelessness,or having a loved one who suffers with an illness) we all need support!

This is a wonderful non profit. A child started this organization and it has truly grown into something very special. This sock drive is continuously feeding and clothing the homeless and those suffering from drug addiction. I've personally witnessed people of all ages join this wonderful cause to make snack packs filled with essentials. It's amazing seeing the younger generation get involved and want change. Amazing organization and amazing people.
I have donated to this amazing organization for years and am still in awe of what they are able to accomplish.
Socks for the streets never stops looking for someone to help. Their efforts ALL YEAR LONG make them a stand out group in Philadelphia. It feels good for me to donate and follow them because I always see how busy they are and how many people receive support from their team
Socks For The Streets is a remarkable nonprofit organization founded by 15-year-old Declan Cassidy in 2022. Despite its young founder, the organization has quickly grown into a vital part of the Philadelphia community, providing much-needed support to those in need. From distributing socks, hygiene kits, back to school backpack give away, community events and meals to connecting individuals with resources, the impact is far-reaching. One of their most impressive initiatives is the monthly meal program, serving over 300 people in Kensington, as well as their outreach efforts in both Philadelphia and Bucks County.
Socks For The Streets stands out for its commitment to addressing immediate needs while also offering a sense of dignity and respect to the individuals they serve. The organization goes beyond just providing material aid by offering support to families dealing with Substance Use Disorder and helping individuals navigate their recovery journey. They also hold Back to School Backpack Giveaways, bringing a sense of normalcy and care to children in need.
What sets this nonprofit apart is its ability to mobilize both youth and adult volunteers, creating a community of compassion and action. Declan’s leadership and passion are evident in every initiative, from his sock drives to the development of educational programs teaching kids about service through snack bag and hygiene kit assemblies.
In summary, Socks For The Streets is an inspiring and impactful organization that not only meets basic needs but fosters community and hope in areas that need it most. With its young but driven leadership, the nonprofit is poised for continued growth and positive change.
Such a great organization with an amazing mission. Happy to be able to contribute. No matter how big or small they appreciate every donation.
Socks for the Street is an amazing family run non profit organization. They are very dedicated to all that needs them.
Amazing charity. I have met several individuals who have personally benefited from the items distributed. All of them have talked about feeling like they were valued and cared about. This organization’s kindness has a huge impact on the daily lives of a vulnerable (and often disregarded) population. Thank you for all you do!
Socks for the streets goes out of their way to help those in need. Jen and Declan work so hard putting in love and care to help people.
SFTS is such an amazing organization that is really truly there for the community. Not just with socks but providing clothes, food, resources to anyone that is in need. It is an honor to work with them.
Socks for the Streets is an excellent organization run by terrific people who care not just for the unfortunate citizens and visitors of Philadelphia who came to poverty through drugs or other unfortunate events, but for all of humanity. It was an honor to find an organization like this one and witness firsthand some of the amazing work they are doing. I hope that one day I can be called on to help with Socks For The Streets because I don’t know a better organization to help assist and kudos to the young man Declan who made it all possible. Way to go kid!
I met Declan a few years back when he was collecting socks for the homeless. I was so impressed that I joined Socks for the Streets on facebook. Ths organization does so much for the community. They help the homeless, those suffering from substance abuse, our veterans, and children needing back to school supplies. They do dinners at Prevention Point where I have personally helped out with. They work tirelessly to help brighten the days of some people who only face darkness and despair. They are an amazing organization. They help wherever they see a need.
I came across this website about 2 years ago and was impressed with the background information that an 11 year old boy instead of playing sports and being with friends donates his time to help the homeless. He started out asking just for socks which was the first item I donated to him. This great group has expanded to making and serving meals for both Men and Women who are homeless. Often the expenses come out of their own pocket. He has wonderful parents and a sister who work with him. I have tried to locate places that would donate either clothing or food for them to use. Every penny collected goes right out to the people in need. This is not like large organizations that only use 50% of monies collected and remainder goes to their salaries. This is a NON PROFIT group. If your organization can see fit to assist them it would be greatly appreciated.
We first met Declan and his parents at an event where we were delivering bags for the homeless in our area. Him and his parents came with a car load of supplies to join in. Hearing his story and what he does was amazing. Afterwards, looking up his work online we were even more in awe over his accomplishments. Since then we have worked together on occasion, taken lessons from him on fundraising, and even asked his mom if I could send my son to her for a few years Ha. Seriously, this young man and his family have touched so many hearts. The work with homeless and addicts is beyond remarkable from the backstory to the current day story. I would give 10 stars if I could!
My Parish, St. Martha RC in NE Philadelphia has been Blessed to have Declan as a Parishoner . Declan has brought awareness of the plight of the homeless in all areas of our city . Declan has been an example of the Beatitudes in action . Our parish continues in the sock collection and our CCD Religious Prep Program has also provided brown bag lunches fir the homeless as part of their Confirmation Community Service Project. Declan is the epitome of”What so ever you do to the least of MY brother /that you do unto ME”
