LQA Performing Arts Center

I feel honored to make comments for the Arts 2011 campaign for LQ's performing arts center. LQ's has assisted in providing the introduction to the arts for many children who otherwise would not have that experience. LQ"s not only expose them to the arts, but educates them on the necesssary discipline and sacrafices that one has to utilize to be successful in life and to be a positive contributor to society. LQ's goes the extra mile to insure that all attendess get this opportunity. I have witnessed LQ's involvement to insure such by the financial committment made to make it so that everybody has the opportunity to be a part of a performance, either partcipating or viewing for the experince. Not asking for a financial payback in many instances. You wonder how LQ's is able to do this. I know for a fact that the owner could be in a very lucrative career but I believe that there is a stronger desire to empower other people to bring out their talents which helps them achieve confidence in themselves to go as far as they want to in a positive direction.

My daughter and son's were members of LQ's Performing Arts from opening in 2004 through 2010. They took hiphop, breakdancing, acting, vocal and ballet. It gave them confidence to push to succeed, it showed them to be organized and scheduled. We have so many wonderful memories and friends that were made. It made them feel a part of something extraordinary and we all have been and still are very proud to say we are from LQ's Performing Arts Center.

It iss great to see the youth involved in the productions. You can tell a lot of heart and soul goes into the productions. Always very entertaining. I can't wait until the next show.

My daughters been in LQ'S for approx. 2 years now she really enjoys it alot.. She has performed and would like to perform more often.. We need more sponors and need ur support to come out and see what LQ's is all about!! Need more support from our community.....

LQs performing Arts studio is definatly the best place I have ever been to in a dance school setting. This place is guenuine and very precise. The instructor are awesome and they push you to your ability as well as give you the opportunity to advance your career through various events and showcases.

I've been involved with this performing arts center for many, many years. The environment there is very friendly and welcoming. Anyone is welcome to come. This performing arts center became an outlet for the youth of Bakersfield's community to do something positive and have fun. LQ's is like an extended family. LOVE LOVE LOVE....always

I love working with LQ's Performing Arts Center on every level! It is a multicultural, multi-generational experience that is fun for the entire family. It offers all of us the freedom of self-expression through dance, music, and drama. The professionalism and creativity are inspiring and constantly stirring up each of our own personal passions. It's a great ride . . . I don't want to stop!

LQ PERFORMING ARTS CENTER is an outstanding organization, that teaches and reaches youth from all walks of life. This organizatoin teaches them discipline through the arts of dance, theater, performing arts. I witnessed a perfomance with my wife last year, I was amazed at the skill level and committment of the youth, that where involved with the program. I whole heartedly support this organization's activties in the community, they are positively effecting the well being of our urban teens and families. Our local communties need more programs like these to keep our youth involved and acquiring higher heights of development.

LQ's Performing arts center put on a Fantastic show. I am glad to have had the opportunity to work with all involved. Working on the show allowed me the priceless experience in stage management. It also gave me a look into the hard work and effort behind the scenes before show times.

I've been dancing with LQ's Performing Arts Center on and off for the past eight years. Not only has it been a safe place to go to let loose and dance, it's become my second family. The people involved are so nice and easygoing, I always walk out with a smile on my face. LQ's kept me out of trouble when I was younger and helped me focus on things I want in life. It really is a great organization.

I put my daughter In LQs, it was one of the best things i did for my daughter. LQs, made a difference in her life. LQs wasnt about taking a class, it was family. It gave my daughter confidence, selfworth, and making goals for herself. She was given new experiences about life and i thank Ms. Milner for that.

It's been so wonderful to be part of this organization! From day to day, it's been a pleasure to see how many people have greatly benefited from LQ's Performing Arts Center. From the performances to the practices, the bonds that are created are quite amazing. More people need to know about LQ's Performing Arts Center and all the wonderful things that they have planned in the future.

LQ Performing Art Center has help children not only learn how to dance , act, and sing but create a love for the arts that I have never seen before. The children are dedicated and love what they are able to achieve. The director, Laquette Milner, gives all of her time, patience and love to each child. She goes far beyond any person to help and teach her students how to express themselves through their dance and shows them everyday that hard work produces results. Many hours have gone into creating successful productions including the most recent one, The Hip Hop Wizzard of OZ. I has personally been a pleasure working back stage at many productions and even having a small part in help create pure genius!

LQ's Performing Arts Center is an amazing experience for all ages. I was involved for over 7 years, now I help support in everything they do. Being invovled with LQ's was like having a second family. Its helped me in so many ways, it kept me focused in school and staying out of trouble. I also developed many relationships with the other dancers, and I still continue those relationships.

Lq's is a wonderful organization that provides a positive outlet for people of all ages to express themselves through the world of dance. Everyone is treated like family. I've been connected to the organization for years and love being able to watch these kids who came in with little to no experience grow on stage. They are very talented individuals whose confidence has been built to do what they do best and what's in their hearts and that is dance. I guess the best I can say is, these individuals are serious about dance and leave their hearts on that dance floor every time while being respectful.

LQ's Performing Arts Center means so much to me. They've helped me out in ways I can not fully describe. Many times I was going through things and the only thing that seemed to keep me in good spirits during the week was the fact that I had to attend class at LQ's. I miss going there.

This is a great organization! Everyone treats each other like family. And they're such a talented group! You can tell that everyone involved really likes being there. I would recommend this program to everyone and anyone.
