Mission: La salle university is a catholic lasallian co-educational, independent institution, founded in 1863 in philadelphia, pennsylvania by the brothers of the christian schools (the "brothers," the "christian brothers, or "de la salle christian brothers. "), a catholic religious community of vowed laymen dedicated to teaching and career preparation. The university is committed to academic excellence and individualized attention in a values-based, inter-faith educational community and to providing a transformative education that is accessible and affordable to all. La salle strives to offer, through effective teaching, a quality education accessible to all founded on the idea that on's intellectual and spiritual development go hand in hand, complimenting and fulfilling each other. The university has, as its basic purpose, the free search for truth by teaching its students the basic skills, knowledge and values that they will need for a life of human dignity.
Programs: Instruction - the university provided education to 3032 and 2,885 full-time, undergraduate day students in the fall of 2016 and the spring of 2017 semesters, respectively. Summer part-time, graduate, evening, and doctorate programs provided 38,665 credit hours. The university provided awards to full-time and part-time students.
students services: the university provided counseling, inter-collegiate athletics, health advising, student governing, and other student life services for all students.
auxiliary enterprises - the university provided bookstore, housing, and dining services at annual cost of room - $7,530 and of board $6,250. The university provided rooms to 1,598 and 1,517 students and meals to 1,961 and 1,834 in the fall 2016 and spring 2017 semesters, respectively.
