This will be my third year working with Mary Grigson from 901 Education. Mary is kind, patient, flexible, and just such a delight to work with. We do a great job of bouncing ideas off of one another; working with her has been both a fun and rewarding experience for me.
Mary is also very resourceful and does a good job of finding community partners from the real-world to come and talk to my students. This is especially great as a teacher because I do not have a lot of extra time in my day to reach out to different members of the community.
I had the pleasure of working with 901 Education for the last three years. This was my first year volunteering as a mentor for 901 Education's Entrepreneurial Program at St. Mary Interparochial School. Mary Grigson, the Head of Instructional Education for 901 Education, is a dynamic and organized leader. She brought the students, teachers and mentors together with the goal of the students learning the fundamentals of design thinking and starting a business. Using the technology already available at the school, the students worked in teams to create Welcome Kits for the residents at the Ronald McDonald House. I was welcomed into the program to share my design experience using the Silhouette cutting machine. I was shown respect by all involved in the program. The Final Showcase was evidence of how much the students learned and how proud they were of their projects.
I had the great pleasure of being involved with this organization and St Mary’s School as the students learned how to envision, prepare budget and execute a project which resulted in Welcome Kits for the families at Ronald McDonald House. I am a volunteer at RMH and was able to help in a prep/ brain storming session, be interviewed on the student podcast and witness the presentation of their final product.
I am a retired high school teacher and I was heavily involved in project based learning. 901 Education is an outstanding example of the type of organizations with which I frequently partnered.
I was so motivated by this experience that I am looking forward to participating in future projects with them.
I cannot say too much about this wonderful program and the skills these young folks are getting from it. It is , in my opinion, the very future of education and I am thrilled to see it happening.
Dress for Sucess was a business project at Mercy Career and Technical H.S. that was a great success. The students were engaging and helped other students with choosing an item of clothing to help with their everyday life, dress for an interview or just to get some nice business attire. Customer service was a big part of the experience. Besides clothing there were shoes, accessories-jewlery, ties and handbags. It was well organized where you enter the room with all the items of clothing, then proceed to the check out counter. They had some light refreshments as a thank you.
It was a pleasure being in person and part of Mercy's Networking Event. 901 Education did a great job in setting everything up and being able to speak with the students about careers and doing interview skills. Giving tools to help out future generation.
901 Education is just wonderful. I recently got the opportunity to be a guest within one of their Professional Networking Event with Students here in Philadelphia, and it was nothing short of fantastic. Very point driven and effective. Mary did a great job ensuring both the students and adults had fun, healthy, and inspirational engagements. I would definitely love to be apart of another event!
I was privileged to be invited to this event, as a medical professional, for the 3rd time. Just the idea of preparing the young minds for the future, as working adults, gives me “chills” to say the least. 901 Education its it right on the nose!
I attended Mercy’s Networking Event on 3/7/2024 as a professional. I loved the event. It was very organized. I truly enjoyed hearing the stories of the students and engaging with them. I could really see the impact it had not only on the students but the professionals in the room as well. I would love to continue to- be apart of event likes this in the future.

I've attended a few events hosted by 901 Education to promote students' service leadership projects. I'm always impressed by how connected the students are and how much they want to make a difference in the lives of others.
I've been working with 901 Education for about a year now, on the graphic design end and I can say this is an amazing nonprofit. They go above and beyond for their students, they teach them so many valuable skills I know the students will remember!
901 Education is a great organization that offers vital skills to teens and other non-profit organizations. They facilitated career readiness, resume writing and job interview workshops with the teens served by Camp Dreamcatcher. They engage and empower youth to achieve their academic and career goals.
This organization blows me away every time I engage. The students work is so incredibly impressive. I really appreciate how 901 education interweaves social impact and social solutions for and with students that actually allows them to make a difference.

901 Education partnered with St. Mary's Interparochial on an entrepreneurship class for 8th grade students. I attended several sessions to help provide feedback to students. I was so impressed by the scope of the program and the final projects of the students. The program touched on so many valuable skills, from design thinking to accepting constructive feedback to technology-enabled product design. Getting this kind of programming into more schools would be of immense value for students. Highly recommend 901 Education!
What a wonderful organization! 901 provides an amazing opportunity for youth to connect with people of all career paths and make a difference in their community with outreach programs. The stress on empathy, understanding and growth is what makes this organization so important and critical today. Mary has a great ability to connect and relate with everyone around her.

I have volunteered with 901 for a few of their networking events. I loved being a part of it. They bring students and professionals together in such a unique way, to where they really can connect and share their experiences on both sides of the table. It is always eye opening for me, and I feel the students get so much from it. I hope that more schools move toward this new type of networking.
As a part of the business class I think that 901 Education is very beneficial for not only students but adults can benefit also. The networking event was a great experience for me, it taught me that professionals grew up similarly to how us students do. We had time to connect with them, then we had mock interviews to help prepare for a real interview.

I’ve had the privilege of working with Mary for many years. I’ve seen 901 Education grow from a dream into this amazing organization. I have been a part of Impact Philly, experiencing first hand the connections Mary has been able to make with students and the community. Mary continues to help my students connect their skills with community needs through 901 Education. My students have been part of 901 Education’s “Compassionate Learning workshops” which provide opportunities for face to face (in person & virtual) interactions with students and community organizations. Students are able to connect their interests with ways to help our local and worldwide communities. These workshops help students develop empathy, social skills, critical thinking skills, and a greater awareness of our human responsibility to help those most in need. I am so very grateful to 901 Education for all they are able to provide for my students and for helping them break out of their comfort zones and use their skills to better our world.
The mission of 901 Education is truly what the ever changing job and schooling market needs for our rising generations. The program help's prepare students for what's to come post high school graduation whether it's further schooling or hoping right into the job market. With that, this program encourages students to use their talents in their communities as well. I was one of Mary's previous students who was given all the necessary tools to enter my career field at 18, while being able to excel in college with the knowledge that had me ahead of the game. I am excited to see and support the growth of this amazing service.
901 education is amazing. I'm so thankful to have been able to work with Mary for 4 years in and I've carried over tons of things she's instilled into me over to my adult life. In many ways I would attribute a large portion of my success to 901 and Mary as a whole. I wouldn't have been prepared for life after high school without this team.
I think that 901 Education is an extremely helpful organization for high school students. As a volunteer with 901, I have witnessed the networking and professional events that these students have access to thanks to 901. These events help students learn and grow both personally and professionally, and seeing what they are able to do thanks to what 901 teaches them is incredible.

It has been so wonderful to see this idea come to life. 901 Education has such a great impact on the students as well as the community. The students learn so much through the process from creating an idea, following through with it, and then doing their presentations. We live in interesting times and the kids see actual things occurring in their community and this project lets them create change and help and creates a sense of pride and joy you can truly see.
I have worked with Mary for almost a year now and I have gotten the pleasure of witnessing 901 education’s compassionate and kindness towards every participant involved. Only being a volunteer, I have been heavily impacted by Mary’s kindness, dedication and commitment to 901 education and continue to look forward to what they have in store.
I have seen this nonprofit grow from an idea/dream to a reality. 901 Education is truly impacting the lives of students in the most positive way. The students are given opportunities to expand their knowledge, grow as young adults, and network with others that they are in school with and in the work field they are interested in. There is something so special when you are able to see a student participate in a presentation for something that they are so passionate about. This program allows students to build off of that passion and strive to then provide them the ability to pave their path onto the career of their dreams, and the confidence to do so. I am always excited to hear the amazing accomplishments that the students will make after going through the 901 Education program.
The first word that comes to mind is that this nonprofit organization is a HEART-FELT organization.
Why? Because every event was assembled that I attended, in a personal caring and sensitive way to benefit the students with a professionalism not surpassed by even the top companies. I say this from experience in the law firm industry where professionalism is paramount.
These students received the appropriate attention that actually benefited them in real life and they felt better about themselves.
They are SEEN through these programs, spearheaded by this organization.

When I think about the best example of making a difference in a young person's life, I immediately think of 901 Education Inc. The educational value of teaching business and life skills to students by having them develop and execute an innovative business plan aimed at empathy, has such a significant impact in their lives. This 901 "process model" provides life long tools for these student's development and truly success in life. I have had the pleasure to participate in project reviews, and have been so impressed by the growth, engagement and excitement of these students! It truly is the gift that keeps on giving! The world would benefit from every school participating in such a program! Well done!
As the Coordinator of Community Service Programs at Jefferson University's East Falls campus, I have had the pleasure of being the liaison working with both our Jefferson volunteers and the Mercy students as they serve our community partners through 901 Education and The Impact Philly projects.
The 901 mission of connecting the students with business professionals who share the knowledge and skills in their field, and engaging them in opportunities which incorporate service to others is the ideal recipe for a well-rounded education.
The Impact Philly projects have always been at least as beneficial for the students whose goal was to serve our local community partners as it was the community partners themselves. The level of empathy and knowledge of social issues that the students are able to learn enhances each service project on so many levels.
It is my absolute honor to serve on the board of 901 Education.
Volunteering with 901education was an amazing experience. The skill building work that is being done to help students prepare for their futures is inspiring, and I am grateful to have been apart of it. Working with the organization during Covid presented some obvious challenges, particularly with keeping students engaged in a virtual setting. However, through the use of breakout rooms and thoughtfully planned lessons provided by Mary Grigson the networking event preparation and overall semester went very smoothly. Working with Mary was a pleasure, she is an amazing teacher who cares so much for students and is invested in helping them succeed.
I've had the privilege of knowing and working with Mary Grigson for a few years, and every day I learn something new. I worked with Mary and her students as we transitioned into virtual learning, and her classes kept the same energy in both environments. 901 Education allows for students to reach their full potential through the support of volunteers and donors. I've watched students grow and gain confidence as they continue their paths through the care and guidance of Mary and the rest of the 901 volunteers.
901 Education takes a novel approach to student workshops, focusing heavily on the emotional intelligence piece and reminding students to consider their impact on others when creating solutions.
I volunteered virtually under Mary Grigson for the students in the business path. I really enjoyed this experience, the only down side was that school was virtual which is not as fun as in person. We also often had wifi issues. Mary is a joy to work with and was always understanding and appreciative of me. I also liked working with the students who were always respectful and responsive.
