Programs: Educational program for more than 150 ethnic tibetans, ages 5-15, in low income area in surmang valley,qinghai province, china. Schooling & 2 daily meals provided 9-10 months/year, 7 days/week.
support for basic living expenses of monastic teachers and a number of students in other housing close to surmang.
construction and furnishings for the surmang shedra (school) building complex, 25,000 square feet in size. The school is locally owned and administered.
support for rebuilding of the main teacher residence at surmang.
