Loreen's paintings are absolutely INCREDIBLE. When you look at the hero she painted - in my case, Sgt. Reckless, the Korean War horse hero - you swear you are looking at a photograph - she is THAT good! She deserves all the kudos she can get! I can't praise and support her enough - nor can all of the Sgt Reckless fans who have received a print!

The artist is very talented and I wouldn’t let someone I trust paint my husbands K9. I paid to have Fury painted by K9 Hero portrait project for my husband’s birthday and it was knocked out of the park. We now have a wall of all the paintings I have purchased from K9 Hero Portrait Project. I would highly recommend purchasing or donating as it goes to a great cause and helps bring partners home ❤️
To see the look on a handler's face (and friends/family) when his/her hero is honored on canvas is enough reason to support K9HPP. Not to mention the artist does beautiful work, and puts her heart and soul into every portrait she does. She puts countless hours into each portrait, and it definitely shows. The K9 Hero Portrait Project is AMAZING. No K-9 handler ever wants to attend one of these presentations because it means we've lost a hero. I've had the honor to attend several portrait presentations. Because of the K9 Hero Portrait Project, I've seen handlers heal after losing a partner. Their families and friends are able to see that reaction thanks to Loreen and the K9 Hero Portrait Project.
When I lost my police K-9 I mourned the loss of my partner, my best friend, my protector and my shadow. He was literally the reason I am still here. There is no greater bond than that of a police dog and handler. Each pushing the other to train harder and push to be better. When I received my painting from the K-9 Hero Portrait Project, my healing truly began! I had my boy back! The painting more realistic than any photograph! I cherish that healing and make every effort to ensure EVERY handler I know receives a painting, by donating, after their faithful hero passes. The paintings preserve the dignity and grace of the dogs while healing the hearts & souls of their handlers and families! The artist pours her heart & soul into each painting, donating hundreds of hours of her life to help bring healing to broken hearts! THAT IS what a GREAT non profit should be!! She spends at least 100 hours on each portrait and often that doesn’t include the research she does to look into and understand the soul of the animal she’s painting. Her objective is to provide healing comfort to the handler, family, department and community by bringing these heroes “home again”.
I’m a donor, have bought of some of her works to support her mission and have attended one of her presentations to a recipient.
K9 Hero Portrait Project painted a portrait of my partner’s K9, Maros.
My partner was Jason Crisp. Jason and Maros was killed in the Line of Duty on March 12th 2014. Jason wasn’t just my partner, he was also my best friend, we were like brothers. We shared the same office and he was also my neighbor. I was often at his house throughout the day. Jason and his family were my family here since none of my family members live anywhere close to me.
Maros was my family also. He was like my dog, I would dog sit when Jason was out of town and also help Jason train with Maros.
Losing Jason and Maros were devastating to me.
The K9 Hero Portrait Project really helped me mentally with their masterpiece of Maros. I loved the painting so much I wanted a copy for myself and Loreen was able to provide me a perfect copy.
I proudly support the K9 Hero Portrait Project. I hope others will also.
Loreen is an amazing artist, and we couldn't be happier with our portrait she did for us. Rico was my partner for 4 years, and when he was done working, we were lucky enough to be able to adopt him. He was more than a pet at that point. Rico was FAMILY! He not only kept me safe on countless explosive detection missions, but also became my daughter's best friend when he lived with us. He is greatly miss everyday, but we are fortunate enough to see him daily through Loreen's masterpiece! We honestly can't thank her enough for the gift she has given us!

How can I convey what is truly in my heart about the "gift" of my K9 Heroes portrait that was given to me? These heroes take on a life bigger than anything or anyone can wrap their head around. They become our heart, the core of our soul and to be able to bring our heroes home means the world to those of us who are lucky enough to receive this beautiful gift from K9HPP. Thank you to Loreen for pouring her heart and soul into each and every portrait and for going the extra mile to make sure that each portrait is done exactly to the hero's specs.
This is a great organization. I’ve donated multiple times and they are always open and up front about costs and where the donated money goes. I’ve also bought several coins and prints to support the project and they are great quality items with amazing likenesses to the subjects.

Loreen is a fantastic artist making the most treasured portraits of these hero family members. These honor the bond between military, police and other service member handlers and their k9 partners who put their lives on the line everyday to protect us and this is a phenomenal way to thank them. I have several prints and challenge coins and treasure them dearly and love being able to share the her story with everyone who sees them when they come over. Thank you Loreen!
The K9 Hero Portrait Project has a wonderful goal... to paint beautiful fine art portraits of K9s who have served our country in some capacity and to gift the paintings to their handlers. This provides an opportunity to say "thank you for your service" and to help hurting hearts heal when a beloved partner / family member is gone. How wonderful to honor our heroes, both two and four legged, in this way. The program also gives an opportunity to teach the public about working K9s. Dealing with K9HPP has been a wonderful experience. Communication is always quick, funds are handled carefully and responsibly, and they perform a valuable service to our public servants. I highly recommend this wonderful non-profit organization.
Loreen's skill and love of what she does brings so much joy to the handlers of these awesome canine and equine heroes. She puts her heart and soul into each and every project and it shows in the finished portrait. I have never met her but hope to someday have one of her beautiful prints in my home.
