Mission: Jasa corporation is the supporting organization for other 501(c)(3) organizations whose primary exempt purpose is to respond to the needs of the most vulnerable elderly - the frail, the poor and islolated - regardless of race, religion or ethnicity; to sustain and enrich the lives of the aging in the new york metropolitan area so that they can remain in their homes and communities with dignity and autonomy; to develop a comprehensive and integrated network of services throughout the metropolitan area that provides a continuum of community care for incapacitated, vulnerable and abused elderly as well as younger and more vigorous older persons; to provide affordable housing and auxiliary facilities to low income elderly.
Programs: Jasa corporation is the supporting organization to the organizations that provide a range of services through various programs. Jasa's programs and services improve the lives of more than 53,000 elderly people each year. This includes support and assistance programs such as the sally and henry pearce help center which makes over 10,000 referrals a year and case management services to 3,600 clients who receive home visits from jasa social workers each year. Jasa prepared and served over 1. 3 million delicious kosher and non kosher meals through our senior center and meals on wheels programs. Jasa's home care and its affiliates provide quality home care to 1,200 frail homebound elders in brooklyn and queens. Jasa's housing provided safe, affordable apartments for more than 2,600 seniors in three boroughs last year. Jasa provides adult education programs covering a wide variety of subjects through the institute of judaic studies, sunday at jasa, and our 23 senior centers. Jasa's institute for senior action (ifsa) trained over 600 elderly leaders to be activists for issues affecting seniors. Jasa's elder abuse program helps approximately 700 victims of abuse each year. Jasa's adult protective services and community guardian programs made it possible for more than 1,580 at-risk elderly clients to remain safe in their homes and communities.
