Mission: The james l. West center is a not-for-profit organization which serves persons with alzheimer's disease and related disorders and their families in a compassionate and spiritual environment. This center is dedicated to providing individualized care and support to enhance the quality and dignity of each person's life throughout the course of the disease. By participating in meaningful research and sharing its experience and knowledge, the center is committed to enriching lives now and in the future.
Programs: The james l. West presbyterian special care center provides support and care to persons suffering from alzheimer's related disorders and to their families. Clients served for the period ending june 30, 2017 included 131 residents of the facility and 44 participants in senior adult day care. The center maintains records to identify and monitor the level of charity care it provides. In the 2016-2017 fiscal year it provided charity care valued at $252,390. 00

West presbyterian special care center provides families dealing with dementia the personalized, hands-on skills to successfully manage the effects of the disease in a healthy manner through a series of free programs including communication, managing behaviors, and stress management. Support is provided both in the form of in-person programs, webinars and podcasts. During the 2016-2017 fiscal year, a total of 865 caregivers and family members, and 300 medical professions students were provided with education and support.
