Pathfinders Tarrant County has truly been a blessing in my life. I regularly attend their events, and it’s always a wonderful experience. The staff is incredibly kind, understanding, and non-judgmental. Pathfinders has made a huge difference for me and my kids, and I’m beyond grateful for their support. The level of assistance they offer is amazing, and regardless of your background, they’re always there to lend a helping hand.
I've only been involved with Pathfinders for the last couple of months but already they've impacted my life with personal 1-on-1 financial counseling, clear and concise weekly courses in Budgeting, Borrowing and understanding how Credit and Banking work. Both my financial coach, program liaison and my mentor have been outstanding and very helpful with periodic check-ins, advice and useful leads to important local resources. I look forward to the changes learning how to budget and increase the performance of my limited income will show up in the coming months and I appreciate their selfless work in the community!
As a veteran, I cannot express enough gratitude for the unwavering support I received from Pathfinders of Tarrant County, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals and families to achieve self-sufficiency. During a particularly challenging time in my life, their financial assistance program provided me with the stability I needed to keep moving forward. What truly sets them apart is their comprehensive approach—they don’t just offer temporary relief but provide tools, education, and ongoing support to create long-term success.
Pathfinders offers a range of services, including financial literacy training, career development resources, mentorship, and life skills coaching. They focus on meeting people where they are, tailoring their guidance to each individual's specific needs. As a veteran, I felt seen and understood, which made all the difference. They also make their services accessible through both in-person and Zoom meetings. With my busy and often stressful schedule, the ability to join Zoom meetings was invaluable and allowed me to stay connected and engaged without disrupting my work and personal life. Seeing other veterans at different stages of their journeys during these meetings was especially inspiring. It reminded me that I wasn’t alone in my struggles and gave me hope and motivation to keep moving forward.
I also want to give special recognition to Peter Peña, whose guidance and continued encouragement have been instrumental in my journey. His dedication to helping veterans like myself was evident in every interaction, and his expertise helped me navigate my challenges with confidence.
The work Pathfinders does for the community is nothing short of life-changing. Whether you're a veteran, a single parent, or simply someone facing tough times, they provide resources and support to help you regain control of your life. Their nonprofit status underscores their mission to serve others, relying on community support to continue making an impact. I wholeheartedly recommend Pathfinders of Tarrant County to anyone in need of a fresh start or looking to support an organization making a tangible difference. Thank you to Peter Peña and the entire Pathfinders team for the incredible work you do!
I’ve been a “hot mess” since I was released from prison.
A simple scan of the QR CODE that was shown on a Table Tent Card led me to 6 weeks of personal growth and confidence through Pathfinders Financial Coaching Workshops.
I am truly grateful for the opportunity and for the help that Pathfinders has given to me!
I became aware of Pathfinders while incarcerated at Tarrant County Jail. After my First meeting with Ms Erica I was thoroughly impressed as she gained my trust immediately; as she was able to recall the details of our initial conversation and report back to me how Pathfinders was able to help with my needs as there were many.
Upon my Release; I had challenged myself to start everything from scratch; new address & job as well as new circle of support including friends. My recovery, sobriety and completion of Two (2) Three (3) month phases of intensive probation were my biggest priorities. I am now merely weeks away from completion of the final phase of probation and ready to gain some normalcy with a more permanent job as my schedule will allow.
The process was simplified as my tasks or punch lists were well directed by the guidance of Pathfinders staff. Accomplishments such as reacquire ID, temporary food & medical assistance, and establish very affordable and safe housing, transportation needs via a Bus pass, access to clothing …. Just to name a few.
I will continue to attend the workshops as they are well organized and the information provided is vital; as I navigated through what initially seemed impossible. Just this past week, a new staff member Itzel led a workshop with a list of Background Friendly Employers; this information is GOLD. Working with this organization has been thoroughly enjoyable and BLESSED me beyond imagination.
Pathfinders is a great mentoring mentoring program.
They focus on your whole being even your family.
They have amazing mentors also Mr R, is an amazing coordinator.
Pathfinders is committed to doing what they do with excellence and in partnership with other community members. I am so impressed with the number of partnerships they've created to prevent duplication of services but instead help other service providers enhance their services by adding on Pathfinders Financial Coaching.
Pathfinders has been such a great organization! They have gone above and beyond to help me with everything that I have had to deal with in the last couple months! So thankful for them! ❤️
I loved the help and classes they offered everyone was very nice and helpful Rose Mary ,Wayne Walden and Maricela are just some of the wonderful people to experience this journey with

Pathfinders has partnered with the Tarrant County Veterans Treatment Court to assist justice involved veterans for nearly 10 years now. The entire staff has been a pleasure to work with, but I'd love to spotlight Chris Woodruff. He has been consistent, reliable, dependable, and the one I count on to assist our veterans with the most needs. I know he will be there!
I found out about Pathfinders in Tarrant County Jail in the Military Veterans Program as I am a veteran I thought there were no resources available after being involved in the criminal justice system. Pathfinders, namely MR. Woodruff, Mr. Pena, Mr. Sakimoto and others behind the scenes made the transition from jail to life bearable. I got in touch with Mr. Mason who runs the 21st century program at Pathfinders and this non-profit has hands down made life easier on myself and my family when it comes to reintegration to the community. They know exactly where to point you for resources you may need and know exactly how to make it so you aren't forgotten in the shuffle. They check in on you and make sure you're doing ok and make the process of getting life together as easy as possible. Thank you to the Pathfinders team for being there when my family and I needed you guys the most!
Pathfinders has helped me tremendously in my life. They have great Financial Coaches that are here to make sure you grow in knowledge and progress for you life. I could not have done anything without the support I was given. I worked with Kristie and she went above and beyond what I had ever expected! If you are serious about changing your life and mind this is the place where you can grow for a better future!
Pathfinders is a wonderful organization and Kristie Johnson was such a great mentor. She is warm and funny and makes learning about finances fun as well as informational. Pathfinders came into my life at a time when I was at a very low point in my life. The Women's Center Employment Solutions program in conjunction with Pathfinders helped change my life and I am so grateful to both organizations that understand and support their clients and provide motivation to improve one's financial situation and find employment. Thank you Kristie for being so supportive in my time of need. ❤️
Pathfinders is excellent. I love their tried and true principles, and how dedicated Kristie was to seeing that I succeed.

Pathfinders is an integral member of the Texas Veterans Network, serving the North Texas Veterans and their families. Chris Woodruff, Veterans Specialist & Special Programs Coordinator, not only accepts our referrals and serves the veteran through his programs, he also sends us clients that need resources outside of his program so that we can match them with other programs. Pathfinders supports Texas Veterans Network mission of holistically serving the veteran community by breaking down the barriers to accessible resources.
Chris and the pathfinders organization has been very beneficial to my self growth. He has always been there when I’ve needed him and if for some reason he didn’t have an answer to one of my questions he didn’t hesitate to work with me to find the answer.
Pathfinders provided me with mentorship at a point in my life where I had little to no direction. I would express my families needs to Chris Woodruff my mentor as I would a family member or a close friend. His ability to go above and beyond to serve is unmatched. Pathfinders gave Chris the resources and backing to provide for us sporting events tickets that refreshed us, financial coaching and mentorship now and for the future, my wife given one on one resume and interview preparations. These are a couple of ways they were able to serve my family.
We attending a Christmas event that Pathfinders hosted. During this event I experienced the vast amount of compassion and commitment to their community. We met those great and amazing people that stand behind the name Pathfinders.
Myself and my family are so very grateful for the beyond 5 star experience we were given.
Thank you Pathfinders and my mentor and friend Chris Woodruff!

Pathfinders, what a perfect name for this organization! The events that I have attended and the conversation I have with my mentor Chris Woodruff. Have been a light to my path. From working with my wife in assisting and building her resume to plugging us into the right outlet. Chris has always been willing to help us to find direction We have nothing but thanks for Pathfinders.
Chris Woodruff with Pathfinders non profit has impacted my life in ways I never thought possible. I am a Veteran who came to Chris when I was at my lowest point in life. Chris took me and all of my broken pieces and helped me put everything back together. Chris worked with me daily making sure that I stayed true to all of my goals while teaching me how to cope with trauma that I had been avoiding for years. Chris has made an everlasting impact on my life and I can never thank him enough for the tough love and friendship. I am a better man today thanks to Chris you truly saved my life.
Chris Woodruff has been instrumental in helping the client's help themselves. Our agency has sent numerous referrals to his organization and Chris has found a way to be professional, proficient, yet personable. Empowering Veterans is difficult at best because there are many barriers and it often takes time, but Chris has an excellent process to connect the client to the need producing the desired results. An example was a Veteran that was referred to Chris and the financial opportunities offered were contingent upon successful completion of the courses offered by Pathfinders. Not only did Chris encourage and ensure that the client accomplished that, but he was able to assist in having the client embracing the new method in which he acknowledged and managed his budget. It's truly one of the lessons that keeps on giving. Pathfinders has a niche in the community that doesn't quite get the job done by anyone else. Without them a significant piece to their puzzle might never be addressed. - Veteran Hand of Fort Worth
Chris Woodruff, at Pathfinders has been an instrumental part in providing me the mentorship and support that I needed as a disabled veteran. The comradery, guidance and knowledge that Chris has kept me focused and task orientated. He is relatable, humorous, and displays great empathy with the issues that veterans deal with on a daily basis. He is the best! He also is a great source of information on veteran services in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He always know someone to call to get additional information to help in most situations.
Additionally, Pathfinders' financial training team has helped me set financial goals and get on a budget. I have attended all of the financial courses and have learned so much from each of them. Wayne Walden is very knowledgeable in the area of finance and is always willing to answer questions, assist with goal setting, and/or provide guidance with growing wealth (love the newest financial training, "Building Wealth Workshop"). I have learned so much from him. The classes are definitely worth your time. I recommend this organization to all my family, friends, and veterans I know. Thank you so much Pathfinders.
Pathfinders is so awesome! 5 stars all around! Love the work that they do and how dedicated they are to the community and serving.
I was referred by another organization to Pathfinders. Im a veteran! Chris is over the veteran’s program that has helped my family tremendously. The support group that he facilitates each month is so helpful and the outings that he have for us to come together and enjoy ourselves is fun and needed.I’ve had another mentor Maricela at Pathfinders. She has helped me with budgeting, credit, and trying to help me stay on track with building my finances. Chris and Maricela were sending me jobs and resources to help me find and prepare for a job when I first met them. With their help, I have a job now. When my family and I were homeless they helped us get into an apartment. They really care about people and want them to live their best lives while getting rid of debt and creating wealth. I’m glad I met them and they are apart of my life. They are real educators!!! I recommend anyone especially veterans to check this organization out! It’s life changing!
I have been a volunteer with Pathfinders for 5 plus years. The entire staff is excellent and very supportive of the clients and the local community. Over the last couple years I have worked closely with Chris Woodruff, he always does a great job taking care of the veteran clients. It is an honor to be involved with this superb organization.

I have been a volunteer with Pathfinders for about four years. This has been a great experience for me personally and I am confident the clients served have benefited. Pathfinders does a great job of involving clients and counseling them in many different ways to help them achieve better outcomes in their lives. I look forward to supporting Pathfinders for many years ahead
Came across pathfinders as the result of some terrible decisions on my behalf. Chris initially helped me get started but I have interacted with a few different coaches/counselors while taking a few of their classes. The programs and information available is invaluable. I even did the financial evaluation with Rosemary. This program is unparalleled in comparison to any customer service experience I have had. Everyone is extremely professional but are also very warm and helpful. It is nice to gain financial literacy without feeling like instructors are being condescending.
Their classes on Finances are amazing, not only easy to understand but also full of great knowledge. They not only teach adults but kids also, my kid is learning so much from the books on money and finances for kids… and he is only 8!
On the mentoring side they also go above and beyond! Working with Chris as a mentor has been awesome, he listens without judging, offers great advice and is simple there to help you regardless of what you are going thru. Highly recommend him if anyone is looking to get a mentor.
I have been involved with pathfinders for well over a year. I began my involvement during the pandemic and got connected with a fellow veteran, Chris Woodruff. Since our initial communication, I have been involved in monthly veteran zoom calls, financial sessions to achieve my financial goals, and after all of this time, I still receive regular check up emails notifying me of different classes available, or just to check in and see how life is going. I can easily say that Pathfinders, Mr. Woodruff, and the team leading courses toward financial stability are profiting a vital service in the community and a lifeline to those in need of assistance. The care from this team is unmatched and so very appreciated. Keep up the fantastic work!!
I worked with Pathfinders on 2 separate grants, at 2 separate non-profits. Every case manager was so kind and knowledgeable. You could tell they deeply cared about their clients. So much so, that I utilized their services as well!
The people at Pathfinders truly care about you as an individual. Each one that I have worked with have helped me feel like family. I have worked with Chris Woodruff, a fellow military veteran, and he has made sure I knew I was not alone in one of my most difficult and trying times. I am forever grateful for him and Pathfinders for hiring someone so dedicated to helping those in need. I would recommend Pathfinders to anyone that needs help or would like financial guidance.
Chris Woodruff is my mentor. He has been to every court date that we have had for the Veterans Treatment Program. Ready and willing to help in any way possible. Always providing and offering us the opportunities to get connected to the events and programs that pathfinders provides.
Pathfinders did a really great job and were terrific in helping me get back on my feet. The organization has a wonderful staff of people who are informative and they care about what they do. Their veterans program coordinator (Chris Woodruff) was they most helpful to me and would give a 5 star out of 5 available for overall rating and highly recommend their program to all.

I have found Pathfinders to be a good organization (which has great people working for them) who are genuinely interested in helping those who cross their doors. In my case, both individuals whom I met here at pathfinders to be fantastic in support and assistance, as well as keeping in touch to provide guidance and help where needed. This is an organization that I would highly recommend to anyone, but especially to those who could use a little help in life or their current situation. (5 stars and 2 thumbs up)
I got into trouble with the law and went to jail. I was put into the Military Veterans Program. I had been out of the Army for 6 years, I was struggling trying to fit in. I met Chris with Pathfinder. It was such a great program. Chris mentor me every week. He help me to find the solution I needed to put my trouble times In the past. I now have my own program where I am mentoring other Veterans
Kind and Helpful. Also because they are veterans they understand what's going on and how to help us.
Chris Woodruff and the team at Pathfinder’s has been more than helpful in addressing my compliance issues. Even with little personal contact, Chris has personalized my specific case and been very timely and accurate when providing direction to accomplish immediate goals.
Professional, intuitive, and concerned would be appropriate accolades to assess their purpose and function.
They are a great organization and Chris Woodruff is an awesome person. The services provided are excellent, and Chris has been an awesome mentor to me. 10/10 would recommend Pathfinders to anyone who needs any kind of assistance with finance or any other services they provide.
Pathfinders is a wonderful organization that truly care about the clients they serve. They go out of their way to ensure you are getting the care you need. I am a part of their veterans program and I am impressed with the communication and knowledge they provide.
As a Veteran, I have received assistance in preventing homelessness by Mr. Woodruff. He represented the organization professionally and mentored me out of the tough spot I was in. Pathfinders has amazing programs built to not only help in your time of need but to develop a means of preventing a repetitive dependence on others. Thank you to Pathfinders and Mr. Woodruff for all of your help and mentorship!
Pathfinders has been amazing from the very moment I began receiving help from them! I truly am grateful for the services they’ve provided, it has helped me in so many ways! Ms. Latreese has gone above and beyond to help me as my financial coach! They all have positive attitudes and seem to LOVE what they do!
Pathfinders has helped many people with rental assistance and other resources during the COVID - 19 pandemic.
Working with Pathfinders has helped me see the importance of financial literacy. The open sessions were a great contribution to my success in building my credit and using a budget. Over the course of a year i've been able to increase my credit as well as build an emergency savings. If it wasn't for the great work that Pathfinders does I'm not sure if I would have had the knowledge and encouragement to get my finances in order.

My experiences with Pathfinder over the past few years were motivating, uplifting and educational. The many classes they have are second to none. For me the multiple credit and financial classes gave me hope and knowledge on steps to take for meeting my future goals. With any challenge that came my way I always knew that Pathfinder and it’s amazing staff would be right there for support. These people will find a way to help you out they have never told me “no we can’t help you“, The people at Pathfinders will make things right and have you wishing that you had reached out to them sooner the moment you leave their office. I’m very thankful to have them in my corner.
I really enjoyed the classes that Pathfinders provided incarcerated and afterwards. They have kept in contact with me and helped me in many different ways.Even helped with one months rent when times were tough.I would Recommend anyone to them.
Thanks k Patrick Gentry
Pathfinders is a great non-profit organization that serves the community with financial literacy classes. Also, Chris Woodruff is a great Veteran Specialist & Special Programs Coordinator who I met when I was in Veterans Court in April 2018.
I work for a non-profit in Tarrant County in a veteran's program and we work very closely with Pathfinders and their veteran's program. I have worked with their programs for 2 yrs and we are always extremely happy with the level of service provided. Chris Woodruff specifically is an awesome case manager and goes above and beyond to serve the veterans we refer. We have had many success stories of clients going through the financial coaching classes successfully and engaging in the mentor program.
I have been a volunteer with Pathfinders for over ten years. The work of this non-profit is outstanding. It is rewarding for the clients and volunteers. Great things happen when we work together!

Pathfinders has been great! I’ve taken many classes with them and lots of financial training. Mr. Woodruff has been the best help ever. Anytime I had a question he was right there to help out. I would recommend them to anyone!
I first took part in the pathfinders program during my stay in Tarrant County Jails Military Veterans Program. I had weekly classes with Chris Woodruff and one of the volunteers. The dedication that they showed us every week of showing up showed Me that some people genuinely care for others. Since being released I ha e continued to meet with Mr. Woodruff and he has become not just a mentor to me but someone who has taken a genuine interest in my daily well being. Pathfinders has shown me that even in the midst of hardship and troubles that they are Genuine in their effort toward making a difference In a persons life. There professionalism alongside the care they show each and every person that walks through that door shows me that I can have faith I my fellow man and I know that they have faith in me.

My name is Adam Schumacher (USCG). I was having a hard and difficult time due to my PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, and a deeply rooted lack of confidence in myself. I then reached out to Pathfinders and opened up sharing truthfully just how hard I was struggling. Within the first two weeks of working with Pathfinders in was able to land a job interview and receive financial coaching. I noticed that at the beginning of each coaching class the statement "Do not Panic" kept appearing. I can honestly say that Pathfinders has given back to me a kind of confidence that I have not had since my youth. Because of this organization I have traveled light-years in a very small amount of time. I can confidently say that if your a veteran who is struggling Pathfinders is an amazing non-profit and that the staff is probably if not the most genuine group of.people with the mindset of helping you not only through a struggle but a friendship and bond that truly feels like having a coach and cheerleading squad aimed at your success and securing a better future. If you need anything they are there for you. Hats off to Pathfinders for giving back to me my self respect and dignity. Thanks for everything Chris!
Chris Woodruff with Pathfinders has done so much for me and my family. He was an amazing mentor throughout my program and a friend and listening ear when I needed it. Me and my family are so grateful for everything Pathfinders has done for us. Yall are changing people's lives for the better everyday and it's so important. Keep it going.
This charity is doing phenomenal things in our community. I am very proud to be a donor and volunteer of theirs!
Pathfinders is an incredible asset for the Tarrant County community, offering great opportunities for people to get the help they need to get out of poverty. I think one of the things that impresses me most is their mentoring program. The dedication and hard-work the mentors put into meeting the needs of people seeking Pathfinders' help truly sets the organization apart. It is reassuring to know that our community has caring, supportive organizations like Pathfinders to give people a hand up when it is needed.
Incredible organization! Their work with single mothers is both inspiring and important to breaking the cycle of generational poverty.
Pathfinders is a wonderful organization that helps so many less fortunate individuals in Fort Worth. Thank you for all you do!
My first meeting was great! Ms. Rosemary is very nice and funny. She makes money make sense to me. I left my first class feeling way more confident in my ability to save and get out of debt. I am very much looking forward to the classes and achieving my goals.
Given my time with The Women's Center of Tarrant County, in the program of their Employment Solutions; I found comfort in one RN. Thank-you to the colloboration with Pathfinder's, I was able to obtain more value than I could ever imagine, leading-to wholesomeness. Y'alls financial coaching is beneficial! Continue to be a blessing...
Pathfinders continually produces results! I highly recommend them if you are in need of help understanding how to budget, the importance of banking, how to improve your credit score or how to borrow money. They also have a program to help you become more self reliable. All the services are free to those in Tarrant County.

The best agency in Fort Worth for financial coaching and mentoring! Their coaches take the time to learn your situation and really help you process what you need to do to get in a better situation. I highly recommend them!
I am a mentor with Pathfinders and I am consistently amazed at the dedication they have to better people's lives. From jail to offering free budget classes, Pathfinders goes to the people and provides support and leadership.
I volunteer for them and what they do for this population is invaluable! The incarcerated population is often ignored and neglected. What they bring is very much appreciated by everyone.
It amazes me to see how dedicated their staff is to their clients. They go above and beyond to ensure their clients excel in their next journey. Proud to be a volunteer for Pathfinders.
This program has helped me to the fullest from moving from another state. My mentor is the best Mr. Randall, this is a great company. Thank u guys so much
I joined Pathfinders over a year ago, and they have been a tremendous help to me! Randall High has been there for me through job loss, eviction and mentoring, and he has helped me out numerous times. Pathfinders have been a great experience for me and I look forward to continuing our relationship.
When the client first started working with Pathfinders they were late on several payments, unable to save, and not having enough money to pay bills. After meeting with a financial coach a couple times they identified where the money was leaking at and took steps to track their spending and follow their budget. They also set up a system to make sure they were not late on payments again. With the savings from spending cuts in non-essential items and no late fees they were able to open a savings account with a $100 and add to it on a monthly basis. Within four months they had over $300 saved for emergencies. Knowing how much money they had to work with and where it was going took so much stress off of them.

Pathfinders help 100s of individuals and families through financial education and financial coaching. Individuals learn how to manage their money, budget, set goals, the cost of being unbanked/underbanked and the benefits of banking, the costs of borrowing from payday/auto title lenders and when is the right time to borrow and what they will need to have to get a good borrowing interest rate, and how credit works. They also learn how to build their credit score so they have access to low-interest loans, lower insurance costs and positive borrowing history for when employers look at their credit history.
Pathfinders also has an outstanding mentoring program that matches volunteer mentors with families struggling to overcome the bonds of poverty, homelessness, and reentry after incarceration. A mentee can have a mentor for up to a year to support them with budgeting, job preparation, decision making, emotional support, goal setting, and parenting.
85% of mentees retain employment. The Mentoring program has been recognized for Best Practices by Urban Partnership Initiatives of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Pathfinders is a light to the community! They are a wonderful group of professionals that assist clients to obtain financial stability and reach their goals by providing financial coaching, care and support. The program works closely with parents, reentry, veterans and has a mentoring program! Pathfinders staff has a heart of gold!
One of the finest nonprofits I have served with over the past 40 years. Through their mentoring programs they transform the lives of many individuals and families. Few organizations have a 87% success rate in moving their clients from poverty to self sufficiency!

Pathfinders and Robin Newland came into my life in August 2017, one of my lowest points financially. I was downsized after 16+ years on the job. I was stressed, scattered and hopeless. Robin walked us through an exercise that lifted a huge weight off my shoulders. She shared her experience and taught me things I should have learned before. During our oneXone session Robin showed me all the possibilities available. I followed her advice; I see great results. I am less stressed and more focussed on real solutions. Robin and Pathfinders have truly been a life changer and I will continue to work with them.
I have volunteered as a mentor and have worked with 2 clients who were struggling to move from incarceration to living again "in the free". Both women benefitted greatly from the resources available through Family Pathfinders, and I enjoyed encouraging them as they transitioned. I also felt blessed to experience new perspectives on life by walking in another's shoes; I gained a better appreciation of the challenges people face in breaking the chains of poverty, as well as the chains of a criminal record. Family Pathfinder offers good training and support not only for clients, but for its volunteers, too!
I started volunteering with Pathfinders in 2009 because the mission of the organization was near to my heart. I eventually became an employee in 2014, allowing me the pro ledge of serving our clients full time!
I admire Pathfinders for the way they approach helping families break the cycle of poverty and dependence on others by not just "giving," but mentoring individuals to enable them to "do" for themselves. Perfect example of "Give a man a fish..."
What Pathfinders does and does so well is enable people with struggles achieve stability and direction in their lives. The mentoring program is with the clients who likely need support that is over and above what some organizations offer. Pathfinders makes a real difference in many lives and in turn benefits the entire community in many ways.
I was introduced to Pathfinders in 2013, as a participant in the FinancialTraining aspect of their program. The information was excellent and right on time. Laura Stackhouse is an excellent instructor. Pathfinders invited me in to share my story with their friends and supporters, as well as some of my artwork, which Pathfinders contracted me to do.
When I needed to renew my medical card for my cdl licence, Pathfinders came to my assistance, and has continued to help me through a most difficult time of homelessness and uncertainty.
Pathfinders has been A TRUE BLESSING in my life. In the year 2017, not only have they given support and assistance. Pathfinders probably saved my life within the past few months. They've been the wind beneath my wings!

I was referred to Pathfinders from a friend in a support group that I attend. I met with Bill Hamm, and signed up for the program. So far, his attention to detail and availability to answer my questions have been very valuable for me. He exemplifies exactly what Pathfinder's goal for people who have been released from incarceration and people who in poverty conditions. In fact, he has inspired me to volunteer in the same capacity as he, helping people returning to society.
I was apprehensive about trying something new,but I was made to feel welcome and I learned more then expected, came away with tools to help me succeed, the best investment in myself and a giant leap forward in networking and real life tools.
Thank you very much

Pathfinders turns 20 in 2017!
With 12 staff members and numerous volunteers, Pathfinders makes a dramatic difference for clients who benefit from targeted financial coaching and quality mentoring while travelling the challenging road from poverty to self-sufficiency.
Financial stability requires skills and Pathfinders' programs enable clients to gather the necessary skills and tools to succeed. Most importantly, the personal contact with caring, compassionate and knowledgeable staff and volunteers double the chance for clients' success.
As a board member for twelve years, I celebrate my involvement and support of this outstanding organization.

I am a donor and a volunteer mentor with this wonderful organization in Fort Worth. I have personally seen Pathfinder's success in the changed lives of wonderful women who are now on successful life paths. They run a very tight ship with the money they receive - I know the donations I make are used efficiently and effectively. Would give them 10 stars if possible!
I have been working with Pathfinders for over 5 years and am continually impressed with the impact this organization has on the community, specifically families who are breaking out of poverty and into self-sufficiency. Donating my time and resources to this non-profit is a joy!
I am a retired clergy and in my 41 years of active ministry there have been very few efforts more important than that of helping families in poverty to awaken to the sunshine of jobs and responsibility to family and personal discipline and dignity. The FP staff and volunteers help this to happen with such grace and love. They sacrifice so much to make it happen. I was always blessed to be a part of the work of the Pathfinders.
I was a client and have been a mentor for several years now. Pathfinders connects people so there is always a neutral ear to listen and advise. Decisions can be scary in new job and life situations. It helps to have someone experienced and successful to learn those new skills which it takes to be successful. Through the mentorship, economic stability, and community programs, Pathfinders leads the way to a new and responsible life for all who choose it. The support and encouragement are just amazing. There are no programs like it. Pathfinders fills the missing gap so many families just do not have. The gap of successful productive examples to immulate and advise. That is what mentors are to Pathfinders clients; successful productive members of society connecting with those who no longer want to be dependent on government assistance. It is a beautiful connection, inspirational and gratifying for everyone involved.
I am a volunteer mentor for Pathfinders because we all need the support of others. The people that carry out this rewarding, care giving support play an integral and crucial role in the success of Pathfinders and the clients it serves.
I have volunteered for Family Pathfinders for almost a year now. The organization helps and touches people in stages of their lives where they need financial guidance and direction the most. Program benefits include Savings Match Programs, 0% interest loans, and a good foundational series of coaching classes to help people achieve financial stability. I am thankful for the opportunity to give back to the Tarrant County Community as a volunteer for Family Pathfinders. The staff are awesome to work with!!
I have served as a mentor since 1997 --and as a board member for the last 4 year. I consider my volunteer service as one of the most important faith walks in my life. I have seen both mentee and mentor grow in understanding and service. Each mentee has shared their hopes and dreams with us as they find their pathway to a better future. I have seen staff and board members, who have a servant's heart, work together to strengthen best practices and support systems needed by mentors and their clients. This excellence is attracting a growing number of members from my church to join this ministry, and assures me that this is a top non-profit that makes a significant difference in our community.
I started volunteering with Family Pathfinders almost a year ago. I had been a single mother myself and knew how much support I needed and financial problems were always my biggest hurdle to tackle. Thank God I had a nice family to count on, but it was difficult nevertheless because of all the roles a single mother has to play - caregiver, breadwinner, learn to help your children without neglecting yourself. That's why I jumped at the opportunity of mentoring and helping another mother move to another level. I was connected to a single mother with two children to help her get out of assistance and into self-sufficiency. Through this year I have been helping but also learning a lot myself. Family Pathfinders has had my back all the time, giving me first the tools and then advice and information about resources whenever I need it. I can ask Randall High anything, and he always comes through with the information I need. I really admire the work this organization is doing, helping those who need help the most to move out of situations by dealing with the blocks to self sufficiency, and I particularly admire the work they are doing in their reentry mentoring program.
They have a wonderful staff that cares about their clients and want them
To succeed in the goals they have set for themselves.
I have been a mentor at Family Pathfinders for years. Great organization that is an asset to the community.

The organization is well-respected in the nonprofit sector and is excellently managed, both in its programs and its financial responsibilities. Family Pathfinders is an amazing organization. Their successful program is proof that mentoring works!
I first became involved with Family Pathfinders about 2 years ago as a volunteer and Financial Coach. The leaders, employees and volunteers of this organization truly care about the mission of empowering families and individuals to attain sef-sufficiency. I am humbled by the difference in peoples lives that Family Pathfinders strives for each day.
Family Pathfinders is a great organization with a great staff! I see their passion for the community and the clients they serve. The work they are doing makes a positive impact and everyone that comes in contact with this organization sees this impact and wants to join them in their efforts.
I have been aware of Family Pathfinders and their work for a number of years. I am now serving as a volunteer. What I appreciate is the overall mission of this organization, to assist people in growing to function in society as independent adults. The staff is competent, professional, and compassionate. They are constantly looking for ways to expand and improve their reach and their effectiveness.
I am new to Family Pathfinders as a Financial Coach, but from my orientation and first coaching session I am very impressed. This organization has a great staff and the organizing effort is very professional. I am particularly encouraged by the no-nonsense, but personally helpful, approach the actual work/sessions are carried out. The goals approach is important to me since I know from my own working experience that without this type of framework, little can be accomplished.
I was asked to mentor a grandmother, who was caring for her young grandson. She was under-employed and Family Pathfinders gave her the tools to find a better job, place to live, and child care.
When I started volunteering as a mentor for clients in the Family Pathfinders of Tarrant County Re-entry program, I found committed, caring, and professional staff who were dedicated to their mission and purpose. This organization targets people who cannot succeed without a network. Through expert evaluation and training, each client is provided tools and resources they will need to successfully start a new life. Members of this network include volunteer mentors, community workers, and professionals who teach, train, and nurture someone who might otherwise go back to their old life and connections.
As a mentor, I met individuals who touched me with their stories that told of past failures and drug or alcohol dependancies. Family Pathfinders helped to make the difference in a life, once lost to drugs and incarceration, now clean, productive, and self-supporting. I was proud to be a part of Family Pathfinders volunteer program.

Mentoring someone who simply needs help with skills I have is an easy way for me to give back to the community, and FAMILY PATHFINDERS OF TARRANT COUNTY provides the perfect opportunity. It is gratifying to see how lives are changed through the efforts of this organization. I've personally talked to women who have been able to get off drugs, go back to school, gain employment skills, and take control of their lives because of programs offered and follow-ups implemented through this nonprofit. Come Join Us in this fantastic opportunity to make a difference!
Family Pathfinders is one of the best tools anywhere for those who understand they need help with their finances. (and these days who doesn't?) Whether it is establishing credit, helping to re-establish credit, get off public assistance, creating a budget, etc. Family Pathfindes assists those who are willing to take the time to take charge of theirs and their familes' financial future.
I have served as volunteer now for almost 2 years and can see first hand the difference Family Pathfinders makes in our community.

I have donated money to Family Pathfinders through the United Way organization for several years. But this year, I also started donating my time by volunteering. I agreed to a 1 year commitment and volunteer once a month as a financial coach. I usually volunteer at the Women's Center and have enjoyed the experience so far. Family Pathfinders is a great organization that helps educate people in the community so that they can help themselves and provide a brighter future for their children and families!
Family Pathfinders is a very worthy organization. My wife has been on the board since 2007 and the work they do has a great deal of positive impact throughout the community.

I personally THANK GOD for EVERYTHING they did for me and my family. May God continue to bless this oganizatoin and ALL of the members of the program.
Family Pathfinders is working wonders in our community. It is one of the few organizatons that can meet the short term needs of families transitioning out of economic and personal challenges, while providing support and life skills to achieve long term self-sufficiency. As a board member for over seven years, I look forward to playing a part in Family Pathfinders' future success.
Serving as a Family Pathfinders board member since 2005 has been a blessing and an honor for me. Our mission - To strengthen the community by empowering individuals and families to attain self-sufficiency - is a perfect fit for my volunteer focus. With a small dedicated staff, numerous volunteers from every walk of life, and community partnerships, our organization helps families to help themselves in Tarrant County. Because of the impact of our unique program services on clients, Family Pathfinders has been recognized for Best Practice by Urban Partnership Initiatives of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. We celebrate the opportunities presented to our agency that allow us to make a true difference in the community. Margaret Russell
I have been involved with Family Pathfinders as a board member for the past several years. The work that we are able to do in genuinely assisting people out of poverty and into self-sufficiency is unparalleled. The training and support provided to the program participants really works and the results speak for themselves. I am proud to be affiliated with such an organization.
I have had the privelege to mentor a young married Mother of two for the past 8 months. I have listened to her, encouraged and coached her through the kind of challenges I have never experienced in my own life. I know I have made a difference in her life but truthfully she has made as much of an impact in my life. I marvel at her bravery (a brain anuism), organization (school, 3 part time jobs, children and husbands schedules) and always looking forward. We have become friends because of Family Pathfinders and her success in graduating from EKG and Philabotomy Schools is due to this fine organizations support. I am incredibly proud of my mentee and friend and of course of Family Pathfinders. A wonderful program where one person can make a difference!
I have served as a board member with Family Pathfinders for several years. This organization truly changes the lives of the adults and children it serves. The financial counseling and support given to the clients by caring volunteer mentors is invaluable in gaining the skills needed for self reliance. It really is a one of a kind program.
I work in the Financial industry and had the chance to volunteer with Family Pathfinders through my employer. I've seen first hand how the people that spend their time and talents to make this organization possible really care about people and helping them live balanced financial lives. Family Pathfinders has created excellent resources and recruited fantastic volunteers to really impact those that need financial assistance. I look forward to continuing to volunteering!
