Programs: Learning centers: discovery learning alliance (dla) establisheslearning centers in under-resourced communities in nigeria, kenyaand ghana. Learning centers are equipped with tv's and dvdplayers. Major program expenditures cover the costs of localmanagement, teacher training, providing relevant videoprogramming, and project monitoring and evaluation. Dla providestraining, monitoring and support to each learning center (usuallyfor a period of 18 months or more) to ensure enhanced teachingmethods, use of the educational resources provided, and to helpensure long-term sustainability.

video programs: dla produces original educational video programsthat are donated to each learning center. Each program is theresult of a close collaboration among educators in the countrieswhere dla is active, reflects their requests, is translated intothe appropriate local language, and is mapped or linked to thelocal curriculum. Production costs include producers, editors,studio time, footage, crews, audio, narrators, etc. In addition,dla customizes the video library in multiple languages includinghausa, somali and kiswahili - both voice over and same languagesubtitles.

the lucky specials film: working closely with world-renownedscientists and production partners, dla produced a feature lengthdramatic film titled "the lucky specials" designed to educate thesub-saharan african public about the basic science of tuberculosis(tb). Through state-of-the-art animation, "the lucky specials"explores the dynamic inner world of the human body, revealing theunseen world of tb. Dla premiered "the lucky specials" in 2017and distributes the film through free-to-air sources, at filmfestivals, and through terrestrial broadcasters around the world.
