My son has been going to Hope Center 4 Autism for a little over a year now. The amount of growth he has had in that time have been Amazing. Mrs Susan has been able to bring out a confidence in him, that we have never seen before. He’s actually going to be dining at an event, in front of people!!!

I have two children attending Hope Center for Autism. I cannot express how much Susan Wood has impacted our family as a whole and my children as individuals. Without Susan and Hope Center and most recently, without the generous donations of those kind and compassionate souls who give to Hope Center, my family would be floundering in confusion amd worry and my children would not be thriving and growing as they are today.

As many may know, ABA therapy is not covered by most insurance companies. Last year when our Flex Spending account ran out, my children and I were going through a terribly painful time, a time where Susan’s loving care was most critical to my children and to me. I sent a letter to Susan telling her of our situation and explaining how I could not pay for therapy until the beginning of 2019 when the Flex Spending would be available again. Susan knew our personal family situation and said “this is when those kids need consistency and they need to keep coming to therapy!” She was of course right but when you cannot pay you cannot pay and Susan deserved to be paid for the wonderful work she does!

Susan told me to keep bringing the kids anyway. Then Susan invited my daughter Katelyn to part-take in last year’s Western donor dinner and to have Katelyn, who is a budding artist, submit a piece of art to auction. We had NO idea what Susan was planning until Susan’s plan came to fruition. Katelyn’s painting resulted in Hope Center getting $10,000 in donations and then Susan turned around and told us that Katelyn just paid for her and her brother’s ABA therapy and that we did not need to worry about paying her back!

I cried my eyes out at not only Susan’s generosity and deep sincere love and concern for my children and our family as a whole who desperately need her services, but for the donors who gave with such generosity. I was over whelmed and still am overwhelmed with gratitude for this gift that is honestly priceless to our family.

Daniel and Katelyn have not missed one therapy session despite our desperate financial situation and they have both grown immensley over this last year. Both children are growing in social and communication skills that will serve them in their futures. Daniel started with Susan unable to change his defient behavior, not learning from consequences, back talking in disrespect, and a few other negstive amd seemingly unfixable issues that were causing so much stress in our family. Today, Daniel is obeying and changing his negative behaviors! I never thought he would learn!!! He is gaining self confidence and understanding why it is so important to not whine and complain or argue with authority figures. I tried everything I knew but Susan and ABA is what he needed. Katelyn, who began with Susan hardly able to put two words together with out stuttering, is now working a job where she has to interact with customers talking! This is no small miracle!!! This is ABA therapy! This is Hope Center for Autism. This is thanks to Susan Wood and the Donors for Hope Center for Autism.

My family could never repay the gift Susan and the Donors to Hope Center for Autism has given to our family.

We are here today to tell you all, donors changed my children’s lives and mine as a newly single mom of three children, two with Aspergers. We are in your debt.

Makenzie's mom
My daughter was diagnosed years ago as autistic and ADHD. For years I tried to emerse my daughter in everyday peer and social situations. As she grew, as with any child, she did not listen and respond to my advice like she once did. I was coming to my wits end until a colleague of mine recommended Hope. My daughter began her sessions as a teen. She has made great strides in her social skills and personal awareness. Her therapist could not be more professional nor loving. The staff are friendly and very quick to respond to any question asked. My only regret is that I did not know of Hope when my daughter was younger. I am extremely grateful for their services. Hope has made a huge difference in my daughter's life. As a family we could not be more grateful.

Hope Center was a light during a dark time for our family. Our daughter was having behavioral issues and we took her there. We were treated with kindness and understanding. More importantly, we were given hope and felt loved. This is a small nonprofit doing big things in our community. These services are in greater need than ever and I can’t think of a better place or people to provide them.

The Hope center did just what the title says ! I don’t know what the turnout might have been if my son didn’t get the help he needed . Also such personal relationships were formed and we are truly blessed by everyone in this place .

We started at Hope Center in 2010 with a nonverbal aggressive child with autism who wouldn’t look at us or allow us to touch him without screaming. Today we have a child in the sixth grade doing algebra, who loves video games, dancing, laughing and asking me about my day when I pick him up from school. Without Hope center we would be living extremely different lives.

Hope Center has been our lifeline for multiple years. They have changed our lives for the better in every way. They provide monthly one on one parent coaching sessions that help us collaborate on my son’s program there. They have helped us through multiple life changes and have never let us down. This is truly a unique center whose staff is second to none. We love our Hope Center.

Hope Center is full of the most kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable therapists I've ever seen. What they do is far from a job, and an absolute passion. They believe in the best for these kids, and give their all to watch their growth, and blossom fully. Hope Center improves lives forever. What an incredible thing they do!!!!

I have been very blessed to be a part of Hope Center. The children and their families are truly amazing. Everyday that I go to work I see first hand the joy and struggles of every child and their families. Seeing this has changed my life in so many ways. I hold a higher expectation for my children and myself because of this. We are a family at the Hope Center. I dont got to work. I get to go be with family everyday. We are family all because of 1 thing we have in common, our love and dedication to these amazing children and their families.

I am so grateful I found the Hope Center for Autism. The people at Hope aren't just therapist they are family. You can tell that they truly love their job and truly love the kids. I have 4 children who attend there and I have seen amazing changes in each one of them. They are not only there for the children who go there but for the parents and other siblings. They believe there is Hope for our children and work very hard to see to it they reach their goals. I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful organization. They have truly been a God send. I honestly don't know where our family would be without the Hope Center. My children love going there. The Hope Center team goes above and beyond to help their clients and families including doing a lot of benefits to help with scholarships. As I said before the people that work here love their job and the the children love them. I would highly recommend the Hope Center to anyone who is in need of their services.

The thing that initially drew us to Hope Center 4 Autism was the fact that they believe there is Hope and that kids can come out of autism. That is our same philosophy. Rather than it just being something we all have to live with and just try to find ways to cope with it. They are people of faith. Which we believe is one of the driving forces of why they believe what they believe. They are authentic and sincerely love these kids. I have seen on many occasions Susan the director walking the halls, interacting with the kids and therapists and embracing the children and comforting them as well as the parents. As opposed to other places where you hardly ever see the director at all. They are always trying to come up with new and innovative ideas to help the kids and run the center better. And they welcome suggestions from the parents. They are not afraid of a challenge when it comes to the kids. When my son first started, Susan said we want to keep seeing the behaviors so we can track them and see what's causing them so we can help him. That might seem basic. But some places would rather just see the behavior stop so they don't have to deal with it anymore. And they have an AWESOME parent support group that is so possitive. You can feel free to say anything without feeling judged. I would highly recommend Hope Center 4 Autism to anyone!

These are the most knowledgeable, compassionate and caring people I have ever seen. Susan Wood,Director, has a gift to be able to zero in on each child's needs. She then can implement an individualized program that best serves each child's needs. I have seen wonderful results from the work done at their Center. Awesome team that really cares about the children!
