I have been volunteering at Holy Cross Hospital since 1990 and have enjoyed every hour spent there. I am presently working at the Michael and Diane Bienes Comprehensive Cancer Center. After each shift I feel refreshed; the staff are professional and caring. I feel there is a cure for Cancer, the answers aree out there we just haven't found the right questions. I'm glad to be a part of this wonderful family.
I have been involved with hospitals, in a variety of roles, all of my adult life. I feel that my role as a volunteer @ HCH is a privilege and a blessing. I volunteer in an extremely positive environment where all are encouraged to approach everyone in a caring manner focusing on HCH's mission of mercy. I am a witness to this caring attitude each and every time I am present in the hospital environment, whether it be in a patient room, lobby, cafeteria, information desk and on and on. I am blessed to be a witness to a variety of ways that mercy is shown to many: in small ways with a smile to strangers, kind and patient words, food being provided to someone who is hungry. What I witness and take part in each and every day that I volunteer makes me spread the word, in the community, that HCH is the place to come and work, volunteer and be taken care of if you or a family member is in need of medical care!!
