This group does wonderful work in protecting Rome's numerous cats. In general, Italians don't seem as concerned about spaying and neutering their animals as we are to every antiquity has it large cat colony In fact, it was at their hospital in the Largo Argentina )where Cesar was murdered) when my friend and I got the news of 9/11. (The hospital has since been moved) We had just finished taking with the staff and learning about the work they do. Since we were both cat lovers we made donations. It was much easier to donate on a regular basis when I discovered I didn't have to get Euros to send.
Friends of Roman Cats is a San Francisco based group that helps homeless cats and their caretakers in Italy and the United States. They support spay-neuter programs and believe that the practice of Trap-Neuter-Return is the best and most humane way to help reduce homeless cat populations. They also help with paying veterinary costs when pet owners are not able to. They are a wonderful group and are very worth supporting. Your support goes directly to spay/neuter.
