Mission: Friends in need foundation, inc. Is a non-profit charitable organization with the purpose of helping the less fortunate by providing food, clothing, and living necessities. Friends in need also works with other organizations dedicated to ending or minimizing hunger and hardship.
Programs: Friends in need holds weekly feeding programs in: 1) new york city at tompkins square park every saturday, 2) newark, nj by newark penn station every sunday; 3) philadelphia at logan square. Our programs in pensacola, fl include an outdoor program at a women's center every tuesday (lunch), and an after school program with milk and honey every thursday.
in february 2014, friends in need started a program in the san fernando valley area in los angeles where food bags are distributed to up to 75 families every month. Holiday presents were given the children up to the age of 18 during the christmas season. In total, friends in need provided over 35,000 meals in 2014.
family support program: friends in need provides support to families experiencing hardship (barely getting by) in the form of grocery gift cards and at times cover urgent living expenses (such as medical, utility bills).
special programs: includes providing winter accessories (hats, gloves, socks) and toiletries
