Mission: The foundation for the advancement of autistic persons, inc. Solicits charitable contributions and other funds and provides other benefits to support programs, schools, adult training facilities, intermediate care facilities, community residential facilities, day treatment programs and other entities that provide education, benefits, services, assistance, habilitation, training, treatment and aid to autistic and autistic-like or otherwise handicapped and disabled children and adults.
Programs: The organization engages in three major programs. The largest program involves the oversight of major events in the downstate new york area, including a gala and golf outing to support programs serving children and adults with autism. The second program is an annual campaign and the final program involves the solicitation of corporate giving to support programs serving the individuals on the autism spectrum. Program expenditures are mostly reflected per the form 990 presentation as expenditures related to fundraising efforts as set forth in part viii, of form 990. Program expenditures of $28,463. Highlighted in this part iii, line 4a are representative of contributions to several organizations that serve the autistic population, including eden ii school for autistic children, inc. (exempt under irc 501(c)(3)).
