Mission: To promote and conduct research and education to improve the health and lives of veterans.
Programs: The foundation administered funding for approximately 50 active research projects being conducted at the south texas veterans healthcare system. These projects are investigating current, new, and improved methods of treating human afflictions. Areas of study range from laboratory work to clinical studies. The foundation provides the structure to accommodate the needs of the research investigator, from purchasing supplies to hiring employees needed to assist with the research activities. The foundation also administered an educational event for advanced practice rn, which included a single day, 7 hours, of continuing education approved activities. The event was attended by approximately 45 rns from the va and community.
