Outstanding. Good unbiased information is hard to find, but Erowid puts it all on the table, and within the reach of those who need it. I have personally seen it save lives. This is an invaluable resource, of which I cannot speak highly enough.Thank you, for doing what you do.
Absolutely phenomenal site. Very nice to have both the bad and good information as well as having information that is accurate
Erowid has been hosting valuable information on their website for longer than many of it's current users have been alive. Erowid's experience reports are some of the most intriguing memoirs on the internet and certainly some of the most valuable and relevant. This website has saved lives and provided accurate information in an age of misinformation regarding psychoactive substances.
Can't tell you how many times I have referred to Erowid for both personal use and research papers.
In a world where information is endlessly accessible, it can be hard to believe that so many people can believe facts that are blatant lies. Erowid is one of my favorite sites. You can find information about every substance (illicit and otherwise) under the sun, read the experiences of users, and learn about things most people know little more than just the name of. Erowid gives scientific fact and truth in the face of a society that fundamentally shuns almost every facet of psychedelic exploration. Short of the breadth of Wikipedia, I cannot think of one other website that endeavors the social stigmas to deliver solid information.
Erowid is a beautiful community-driven website that saves lives where governments and society have failed for years. Drugs are undeniably a part of life for many people around the world, and yet the leaders of nations do their best to restrict understanding and access to information. As seen with the worldwide synthetic cannabinoid crises, prohibition and lack of education does not stop drug usage... it only makes it more harmful. I have used Erowid to learn about accurate dosing, what to expect, and what to do if things go wrong, and this information is probably why I and others I have shared it with are alive today. Exploration of mindstates through (self-administered) therapeutic usage of psychedelics is a great way to learn about oneself, and has helped me work with my PTSD and other issues in my life. Anytime I see or meet someone who seems interested in doing the same, or is using drugs properly or improperly, Erowid comes up almost immediately. No joke: this nonprofit saves lives, and is the epitome of harm reduction in a world where governments don't care about their drug using populaces. Wherever self exploration and experiences are policed and it becomes a crime for therapists to use psychedelic therapy (aka the USA), Erowid steps in as the wise voice of the community, guiding and protecting trippers through their journey. I would work with a therapist who administered these substances in a heartbeat... but because the government feels this method of treating PTSD is criminal, I instead _need_ Erowid. The core message and belief of Erowid is harm reduction... much better than the apparent belief of most world governments, that all of us who use these substances are criminals who deserve to die. There's no question about it, Erowid empowers the community and saves lives where governments fail.
I have referred to Erowid as a source of information and education on psychedelics for well over 10 years. It has been a treasure trove of just about anything you might be looking for in regards to "drugs". The benefit of this site is perhaps quiet but much larger than they might ever know. I truly appreciate everything they have done.
Erowid is a fantastic source of both subjective experiences with lovely detail, and is simultaneously chock-full of mathematical, scientific information as well as objectively conducted scientific studies. Use the site in its entirety. Do not take any one experience for fact, nor take any one study for fact. When used properly, Erowid is the single greatest resource of its kind available on the internet.
Genius, chemistry, time, effort, really well constructed! Hope this helps ! I couldn’t find anything bad to say about Erowid! 10 positive reviews and Maybe a shirt for Us
Level arguments, detailed discussions, useful information, leading to greater informed decisions on my behalf and a better understanding of the world of drugs, medicinals, art and culture. This website disappeared from my life for a few years and it's rediscovery, and continuation, really make me happy!
In a world that hates our most fundamental inalienable right of all- complete dominion over one's own body- Erowid is one of the few lights in the darkness. User reports about anecdotal drug experiences must always be taken with a grain of salt, but for drugs on which research has been blocked (generally euphoriants that have great potential to help mankind even if each carries unique dangers, just as getting into an automobile or choosing to play a sport carries risks, just as everything in life born to die as we are) this is what we have.
Be informed and learn, medicate, and play safe.
Erowid saves more lives than the War on Drugs & D.A.R.E ever will. Even more so now that we live in a day and age of research chemicals and the internet. People are going to people - for as long as humans have been able to think, we've been looking for ways to dampen or enhance inner monologue. There needs to be a change in the zeitgeist and we should focus on information and safe exploration. Erowid is the first step in the right direction.
Over the years Erowid has given me rich, detailed, bias-free information and insight into various entheogens, plant medicines, and psychoactive substances. Organisations which espouse similar goals as Erowid simply lack the same level of information-richness, and often withold critical data to serve political agendas. Furthermore, Erowid's experience vaults are of particularly high value, with no other organisation out there actively collecting and curating such a wide variety of reports and perspectives.
The most important outcome of all this is the widespread promotion of harm reduction awareness and techniques. It is no exaggeration to say that Erowid leads in this area.
Erowid is one of the greatest websites there is. There is so much information about drugs on Erowid. That may sound distasteful, but really, Erowid provides information on how to use drugs safely for those who intend to take them and information on their effects for people who are just curious. There are pictures, dosage information, studies, user reports, and more.
For several years I was a drug educator and spoke in high schools about the dangers of illicit drug use. Erowid is a user friendly, marvelously accurate, and science based website that gives clear and concise information. Over the years I have recommended them many times as a harm reduction site. Several people I know have chosen not to partake in certain substances based on information they found on Erowid, and I truly believe they have saved many lives. Thank you, Erowid! You are a vitally important informational site!!
Despite that Erowid is not getting enough credit now I believe that in the future when world going to speak about humanity relationship with drugs/plants/chemicals more freely and acknowledge necessity not to make wars because of them, not consider drugs as roots of evil, but study their hidden enormous potential, Erowid will be as important as Wiki.
Erowid is the most comprehensive place to learn about drugs both from first-hand reports as well as third-party sources. My favorite thing about it is the fact that they never changed the interface, which has been well-conceived from the start - it doesn't try to dumb things down for you, but it's still easy enough to use and the information density (sorely lacking in more "modern", web 2.0/3.0/etc sites) is very high.
This place is an amazing hub of information and resources, truly a gem of the internet
This is a fantastic site for acquiring accurate, NON- BIASED information for those who are interested in experimenting or just learning about psychedelics
