Mission: Concurrent technologies corporation (ctc) provides applied scientific research & development services, in the public interest, to develop innovative technology and management solutions. See schedule o for additional details.
Programs: Ctc assists the department of defense (dod) and other federal agencies in identifying, researching, demonstrating, and validating emerging and existing technologies that address environmental, safety, occupational health, and energy (esohe) capability gaps and requirements. The program is highly relevant to the dod mission as a scientific and technical leader for technology development and transition. In addition to evaluating and fielding esohe technologies, ctc provides program visibility and disseminates information critical to technology transition across the dod by leveraging its multimedia and training and outreach capabilities, including publications, program reviews, demonstration factory tours, and technical presentations and exhibits.
ctc provides the management, administration, and technical oversight of the navy metalworking center. The navy has a continuing need for an nmc dedicated specifically to metalworking science and technology, manufacturing technology, and technology transfer to the united states industrial base producing today's dod weapon systems. The primary focus of the nmc is to expedite the transition of metalworking technology solutions into navy and dod weapons system applications. The nmc is the navy's center of expertise for various metalworking technologies, materials, and related processes or subjects, including metals and advanced metallic materials, metal-based composites, ceramics, metallic materials-based systems, metal/non-metal interface issues, primary metal materials manufacturing processes, shape-making processes, etc.
ctc provides and maintains a strong environmentally driven research development test & evaluation (rdt&e) program in the area of materials and processes (m&p) systems support and engineering capability for the united states air force research laboratory environment and energy team (afrl e2). Ctc focuses on researching, developing, testing, evaluating and transitioning technologies to reduce or eliminate toxic and hazardous chemicals, materials and waste streams, while improving energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, through cost-effective programs and practices. In addition, ctc conducts outreach activities including technical publications, program reviews and informational exchanges to facilitate cultural change throughout the air force and the dod.
