Causes: In-Home Assistance
Mission: Cohme's mission is to provide optimum home care services for the frail elderly and to provide fulfilling employment for our home health aides by providing support, in-service education and opportunities for professional career development and input into agency operations.
Programs: Cohme was formed to provide personal care and home health aide services to infirm and elderly people in their homes. Their activities include assisting with personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, food shopping, meal preparation escorting outside home, companionship and in some cases handling daily household expenses. Cohme is supported by case management services provided by registered nurses and masters of social work. The following are some accomplishments of cohmes program:1. Cohme, inc. Provided home care services to over 88 clients throughout the five boroughs. 2. The program provided employment to more than 95 staff, most of whom are low income and also provided a social work assistant/career specialist to help with housing needs and immigration issues. 3. At least 5% of the staff were part of the citys workforce initiatives helping to provide employment to those populations most in need.
