Mission: Ccec is a project-drive, 501(c)3 nonprofit economic development organization aimed at growing primary jobs in colorado in the area of clean energy through formal partnerships between clean energy companies, the public sector and higher education. As a unique statewide organization fostering market transformation for clean energy, the ccec is focused on innovative and entrepreneurial ways to grow the clean energy sector through actionable projects and initiatives that directly benefit colorado clean energy companies.
Programs: The colorado clean energy education and empowerment (c3e) initiative is a workforce development and networking program for advancing women in clean energy. We will create long term impact by working on awareness campaigns that allow women veterans can have a better understanding of what careers are available to them as they leave the military or transition from homelessness. C3e is, in particular, focused on education women on employment opportunities in cleantech industries. Women are currently under-represented in sustainable energy technologies. From risk management to environmental responsibility, many organizations have identified water management as an important issue to tackle. The colorado water innovation cluster (cwic) in partnership with the colorado clean energy cluster is supporting an initiative to fill this gap with a net zero water planning template. The template will build off net zero energy and climate neutrality innovation, and translate these concepts into water management. The partnership between cwic and ccec brings a depth of knowledge, industry networks, and teaming support that will propel this initiative forward. Other individuals involved in the net zero project include the city of fort collins, new belgium brewing, adams county, the city of brighton, brendle group, riverside, bha design, lamp rynearson, and aqua engineering. Fortzed is a testing ground to prototype innovative ideas that move us toward a more efficient and sustainable future. It connects public, private and academic sectors so they work together to experiment with cutting-edge technology that saves money & energy, and helps create jobs locally. Currently fortzed allows energy to be created cleanly, transitioning fort collins to a renewable energy supply, which includes natural gas; energy is sourced locally, encouraging energy to benefit the northern colorado region economically, supporting local jobs, new technologies and energy security; and energy is used efficiently, reducing waste and increasing energy efficiency through the promotion of behavior change through community collaboration.
