One of the people at FC Public Media mentored me for years and we still have a great connection. I became a volunteer for two years and gained valuable experience and skills that helped me start a career in media production. FC Public Media has been generously serving the community for many, many years. The organization and people there have done so much for me to suit my needs since I first walked in the door over eight years ago: workshops and classes, professional production services and on-site studio, project coaching, community outreach, full recording and live streaming services, and use of facilities and equipment. FC Public Media has been trusted to film and document some of the longest-running traditions in the Fort Collins area, plus creating some of their own, from music festivals, cultural events, community events and celebrations, to talk-shows, film festivals, and much more. This organization is more than a multimedia production studio, it is a champion of arts, culture, and community.
November of 2018, I had an idea for a program that gives the community an inside look at Theatre, showing behind the scenes and interviews. I took my idea to FC Public Media and with their assistance it became a reality. We produced 18 episodes before Covid shut down live theatre. I was so impressed with their dedication to helping other non-profits bring awareness to their causes, I took my volunteering to a new level by joining the board of directors. I am so proud of what we have accomplished through recent tough times, and I look forward to our future endeavors.
I love volunteering at FC Public Media. This organization does so much good work in the community. It provides video services for civic organizations and non-profits, showcases artists and entertainers, and we've recently partnered with the Northern Colorado Deliberative Journalism Project to look for ways to improve and protect news access and literacy. We've not even begun to tap into the potential of this unique community asset.
FC Public Media, in particular Chris Winslow, has been tremendously helpful to both my ballet academy (Front Range Classical Ballet Academy) and also our small contemporary ballet company (Front Range Contemporary Ballet). From training on usage of video and audio equipment, and how to edit videos, to doing the photography and videography for our events, to assisting in multiple ways with putting together audio and visuals for our productions, FC Public Media has been an incredible partner to work with and has hugely elevated the quality of what we are able to provide to our customers. While being skilled professionals, they are also as accommodating as possible and always willing to help us find a way to achieve our goals in an affordable manner. Thank you, FC Public Media!!!
In addition to being on the board, I am a local producer of a show that airs regularly on FC Public Media. Our director is great to work with. He is responsive, creative and reliable to help a local producer get their vision and ideas into a tangible product. Thank you

I am a volunteer producer. FC Public Media staff are awesome to work with and very helpful with technical and production tips and have helped me realize my dream of producing a horror-hosted show of the old classic (non-gory) black and white horror movies. I encourage others to take production and editing classes and learn to make shows about what you're passionate about. Also, the new on-line submission sheets make submitting a show to the station even easier.
This is one of my favorite communities in town. We produce edge cutting content that helps people achieve the success they deserve. By showcasing ideas through digital art, we turn visions into reality for the world to admire! Love y’all
Thank you, Chris & Jorie! This is exactly the social media tool we were looking for to communicate to the community with video and audio. The whole experience was professional and very affordable. I look forward to working with you in the future again!
Thank you Jorie and Chris for your professionalism. My filming experience at FC Public Media was well planned, efficient and could not have been a more relaxing environment. Thank you for what you do in the community.
When the Environmental Action Team of the League of Women Voters wanted to be able to preserve our Earth Day 2022 activities, we turned to Chris and Jorie of FC Public Media for help. What an amazing process it was from start to finished professional product! I highly recommend the people of FC Public Media when you want a first class experience in filming. Chris' professionalism was both calming and reassuring. He definitely knew what he was doing! Our members and the community are definitely appreciative of being able to relive and share our environmental efforts with others.
Here's a shout out to Chris and FC Public Media. What a wonderful resource for the community. We, the non-profit community, are truly lucky to have Chris and his resources available to us. He is so willing to help...from a big video project to helping a technology-challenged person figure out how to make a lapel mic work with a laptop. Thank you for being so willing to assist non-profits more effectively communicate with the public.
We have long wanted to have a video to showcase the mission and work that our organization provides. It was always out of reach due to time, skill sets and money. FC Public Media made it possible for us to have a video by providing excellent organization, facilitation, vision, expertise and meeting all deadlines. Thank you so much!
I have had the pleasure of working with Chris and FC Public Media on two projects. Chris is a talented, generous and kind person and a joy to work with. Let me tell you a story that demonstrates these qualities.
Last summer we joined forces to provide a summer bike camp and video project for students from underserved populations. We had 12 students participate Monday – Thursday from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm for two weeks. He offered his studio as a meeting point and loaned out his cameras to these students. I was nervous about sending his beautiful cameras home with these new apprentices, yet he was confident they would respect his property and do great things. He was right. They came back the next day and for the next two weeks enthused and proud of the products they created. The end result was a 5-minute video of these kids’ bike riding and video production experiences and a beautiful representation of the growth and challenges throughout the camp. It wasn’t always easy though.
One day Chris decided to meet us at the Poudre river to help take video footage of the kids frolicking in the water. He gave his GoPro to Juan who tossed it to Fabian who didn’t catch it as we all watched it sink to the bottom of the river. I freaked. He stayed calm. The kids frantically tried diving to the bottom of the river to find the camera with no luck. Then a woman came to us with a basket full of goggles (divine intervention?) which she loaned to our kids who immediately were able to find and retrieve the camera. Chris always remained calm and was gentle with the kids who felt especially responsible for the drowned camera. This was his demeanor throughout the two-week camp that allowed the campers to thrive and explore their creativity.
Chris provided an atmosphere of trust and belief in these kids which allowed them to create some remarkable results. They internalized their experiences on the bike, behind the camera and in the production studio. They learned about photo and video composition, video production and they learned to see the beauty of the world around them through the lens of his very expensive cameras.
Thanks, Chris and FC Public Media

Working with Chris and FC Public Media has been an amazing resource to my filmmaking endeavors in Fort Collins. The nonprofit I work for, Trees, Water & People, has worked with FC Public Media in the past and we have always trusted them to support our work and mission. From going out into the field with us and taking photos, to renting out equipment for interviews, to providing critical feedback on projects, FC Public Media is an invaluable resource in the local Fort Collins community.

FC Public Media is an amazing resource. Chris has been invaluable in training the Trees, Water & People staff how to take higher quality video. His sessions are highly interactive and informative and they are tailored to the organization's experience and background. Additionally, Chris is always willing to answer questions and give advice. We look forward to working with FC Public Media in the future.
Good people with good work ethic. This organization is a great community of people who are passionate about storytelling and helping others. Great opportunities to learn and become involved in the community in positive ways.
FC Public Media went above and beyond to ensure our nonprofit's campaign video was exactly what we wanted to represent our organization. They shared great suggestions and showed professionalism in all of their business partnership efforts.
FC Public Media has helped progress my career in film emensly. The owner Chris Winslow has played a monumental role in my growth as a videographer. Not only that, I've been able to learn so much about different gear by renting stuff out at a very affordable price. FC Public Media cares about the community and they're passionate about helping aspiring videographers.cant say enough good things about them.
FCPM is a valuable asset to the community in a number of ways. If you're interested in any aspect of video production FCPM has the equipment and staff to get you stared and the expertise to assist professionals and everyone in between. It has worked with many local not profits in getting their message out. One of the most important ways FCPM contributes to the community is in the way that funding from the city means FCPM is able to provide matching grants to defer production costs for eligible local nonprofits.
The Board, made up local volunteers, meets on the first Wednesday of each month. The meetings are fun and informative and open to everyone.
Fort Collins Public Media is a well run Video Production facility serving Larimer County. The people are great, very willing to help and serve.
I became familiar with FC Public Media after my mother became a member of the board. She has always had an interest in camera work and editing and putting a show together. It wasn't until earlier this year (2018) that I got the chance to work more directly with FCPM. I work at Old Firehouse Books, the local indie bookshop in Fort Collins, as the Event Coordinator. FC Public Media (via my mother, of course) approached me about helping to start a show that featured authors, both local and national. I thought it was a great idea! The bookstore already works hard to support local authors (all authors, really) so I was excited to have another way to not only support the authors but also help out a great non-profit. The staff at FC Public Media are friendly and great to work with, and they do good work.
Check out the first episode of Authors!
FC Public Media is a great organization! I was in need of video training, photography and marketing skills and they opened up their doors and helped me a bunch!
The team is very charismatic, helpful and willing to involve you in anything they can. Their work is phenomenal and they are very passionate about what they do!
I highly recommend FC Public Media for any project or if you are just looking into learning new skills in this field!
I'm the Chair of the Photo Video Committee of the Poudre Wilderness Volunteers, PWV, and came to Fort Collins Public Media for some advice about equipment to purchase for a grant we were applying for. As a non-profit without staff we rely totally on volunteer help to get things done. We met with the Director, Chris, who sat down with us and reviewed our wish-list of equipment. He was extremely generous with his time and provided us with precious feedback. Our grant request was successful and we purchased the equipment to get us started in video production for PWV. This week Chris spent time again with Committee members reviewing the features of our purchases hands-on with us so we were confident of our use of the cameras and the sound equipment. He answered every question were threw at him with great examples providing perfect clarity for even the beginners among us. We look forward to working with FCPM as an important partner in the successful development of videos for our non profit service organization. Super collaboration. Great job.
Thanks FC Public Media for the awesome work helping us share the word about the 10th annual FoCoMX music festival - the promo video really helps us celebrate 10 years of Northern Colorado music! - FoCoMA
This is such an amazing resource in our city! From help with equipment for my first short film to production of great live nights like comedy and authors interviews, FC Public Media is helping Fort Collins creatives made their visions come true. I am proud to have such a resource in the Downtown Fort Collins Creative District! Thank you! - Peggy Lyle
FC Public Media is an absolute god send. They're starting to produce a bi-weekly comedy show which has been really funny each and every one I've been to. Keep up the good work and I can't wait for the comedy show to get HUGE!
I am a total novice when it comes to learning to make professional looking videos. I discovered FC Public Media by word of mouth and what a gold mine! They offer very inexpensive classes on how to edit video and other topics. This is a great place to learn, and even rent equipment at a very low cost. Chris is a wonderful instructor at FCPM and very helpful! I highly recommend FCPM to anyone wanting to learn more and have access to professional equipment and studios.
Very helpful programs. There no where you can get such hand on experience with the direction of the helpful and knowledgable staff at Fort Collins media. My hats off to Fort Collins for their support of programs like this. Awesome !!

FC Public Media is responsive, creative, and fun to work with! They helped us create some edgy, comical videos that effectively portrayed our message and perfectly suited our audience. I look forward to future projects with FC Public Media.
The staff and services offered by FC Public Media are unlike anything I've experienced before. They have resources and knowledge that you would only find in large commercial companies that charge hefty sums of money to access. But with FC Public Media, that knowledge and all their resources are within anyone's reach. I highly recommend FC Public Media to any community organization or artist looking to tell their story and help them deliver their message through video and audio means.
I am a filmmaker from the NYC area who came to Ft. Collins for a low budget documentary shoot. FC Public Media and Chris Winslow, to be specific, were incredible! FC Public Media provided everything that was requested on my gear list + more. On the first day of the shoot, as kinks were being worked out, Chris made two trips to set to bring me extra items and was able to help me trouble shoot w/ one of the cameras. He made himself available to me via text, phone and email throughout the shoot. He provided a recommendation for a crew member that I will hire from now on when coming to CO. His equipment was in impeccable shape and his knowledge of it, as well as film production in general, was on point.
I am excited to see how this organization will grow and how they will further utilize their state-of-the-art facility to benefit the community and out-of-towners who are looking for a production base. I've worked with a lot of rental houses in NYC and I don't hesitate saying that Chris and FC Public Media is among the friendliest, most helpful and knowledgeable that I have ever worked with.
SeniorCorps is a federally-funded national service program (like PeaceCorps or AmeriCorps), but here in Larimer County we partnered with FCPublicMedia for a promotional project for this local chapter. FCPM literally went the extra mile to shoot video, brave the weather (high winds, heavy snow), and do edit after edit so that our end product told our story accurately, with creativity, and punch. And the price was right for us nonprofits! Thanks Chris for all your hard work! I would recommend FCPM to any local group wishing to have their story be told well, and have a great experience in the process.
FC Public Media was great to work with! They were responsive with their communications, and they were very flexible with our constantly shifting program schedule. They filmed two days of our volunteer training, which included site visits and classroom-style learning. Even when the weather became questionable, they were able to brave the elements. They gave us back our video footage (no editing required this time) in a very prompt manner. The final price point for their services, which was very reasonable to begin with, actually came in lower than their estimate. We would hire them again in a second!
I learned about FC Public Media when Chris agreed to mentor my 6th grade son for a video production inquiry project for school. What an awesome community resource! Chris was a fantastic mentor and my son is excited to continue learning and applying the skills he gained.
They came and filmed some of our volunteer work as we were building houses. Excellent to work with: very professional and flexible to film on an active construction site. Very responsive to requests and accommodating. Can't wait to see the finished product!
FC Public Media produced three 10 minute law enforcement training videos for us. The staff of FC Public Media were a pleasure to work with. Communication was effective and timely. The team at FC Public Media were flexible, reliable, and friendly. They provided us with good feedback and suggestions on best practices for training video production to ensure our videos were effective. I was impressed with their professionalism, care, and concern for our project and they demonstrated a real investment in making the training videos a success.
Last week, Chris took some photos during our school program at the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery's Historic Courtyard located in Library Park. During the program, we have four costumed docents who guide students through a tour of our four historic cabins. Chris was incredibly professional and discreet - he took pictures throughout the entire hour-long program and none of the docents or visitors even noticed him! He captured some amazing artistic and candid shots that will greatly enhance our marketing efforts. Chris did an excellent job of capturing the spirit of our fall historic programs in these photos and we look forward to working with him in the future to capture the beauty of the courtyard in each season!
I first reached out to PC Public Media hoping to learn about microphones and audio quality for voice over work. Chris' was extremely generous with his time and knowledge as he helped me test various equipment and ideas. It was while getting a tour of the studio that I realized the vast potential that was being offered to our community.
It's clear that for Chris this is far more than a job, it's a PASSION and people passionate for their craft produce the highest quality product...and the most inspiration along the way!
FC Public Media is a fantastic resource for our community and reminds me how blessed we are to live here in Fort Collins!
I worked closely with FC Public Media to help create a promo video to recruit volunteers for Make a Difference Day. Chris was amazing. He was very helpful and implemented what we were looking for. I recommend working with FC Public Media! Shantel Rizzotto, VP Marketing and Communications United Way of Larimer County.
I help with the International Keyboard Odyssiad and Festival, a competition for pianists in Fort Collins, Colorado. Chris Winslow just sent me copies of the concerto finals from this year's competition, and I am stunned at how fabulous they are. The videos are beautifully made, showing close-ups and different angles of the pianists at the appropriate times, the sound is impeccable, transitions from one camera to another are smooth and well timed, and the clarity of the videos makes me feel as if I'm watching the live performances all over again. He included information such as the competitor's name and what was being performed, and at the end gives more details such as the names of judges, the accompanist, the scores, and the director's name, in addition to their audio and video credits that they are so deserving of. Classical piano music is extremely difficult to capture on video, and Chris and Mirko have done an exceptional job. I would highly recommend them!
The experience I've had with Fort Collins Public Media has been amazing! Chris Winslow has helped me grow as a producer by teaching me the key elements, and allowing me to learn by doing. I'm looking forward to working with these guys in the future.
From beginning to end, working with Chris Winslow from FC Public Media has been easy and professional. He came through on everything he promised he would do for our non-profit music education and festival organization, Off the Hook Arts! Thank you for your great artistry and generosity. You enhanced our SummerFest immensely and helped us capture some of the great moments of our 5th Season. Thank you!
As a new producer to Fort Collins Public Media, I owe huge gratitude to all the wonderful people involved with production with this studio. Executive Director, Chris Winslow is the epitome of professionalism in this industry. His knowledge, support and kindness have helped me tremendously in this new venture. The many producers and volunteers involved with Fort Collins Public Media are so supportive and helpful with production and are always there to lend a helping hand. Chris Winslow, the producers and the volunteers always go the extra mile to make sure you are getting the help and information you need. If you have an idea for something you would like to produce on public media, do not hesitate to contact Chris and Fort Collins Public Media to help you.
I've been a volunteer producer for fcpublicmedia for about five years. Chris Winslow a.k.a. Boy Genius, The Monster, Video Guru, all around excellent human took me through the basics and has been right there whenever I needed (and continue to need) guidance in all things video. The new facility which houses the recording studio and editing bay is wonderful asset for everyone in Fort Collins to develop the skills necessary to produce video for local broadcast. Volunteer producers are available to help other local non-profits with their video production needs.
FC Public Media has enabled me to learn and grow my communications skills. The audio/video studio is professionally designed and equipped. The director, Chris Winslow, is a major positive. He's passionate about sharing technical and creative skills. The workshops have enlightened my passions. Also, as a volunteer I've always felt appreciated.
Great organization! Chris Winslow, Executive Director, is supper supportive and has helped me with camera skills, audio, and composition. FCPM has a treasure trove of cameras, lighting, mics, and computers for recording content for their station. If you have interest in videography whether beginner or pro they will support you!
Collaborating with FC Public Media to create a promotional video for Fort Collins Rescue Mission was a fantastic experience. Chris was very professional throughout the entire process and helped us realize our creative vision. He did a great job capturing the essence of how we help people change their life and move beyond homelessness.
We look forward to partnering with FC Public Media on future projects!

I started as a volunteer at this nonprofit over 5 years ago and have stayed connected ever since. They are a dedicated group of community members that help raise awareness for other nonprofits and artists in Fort Collins. If you like cameras, audio equipment, computers and meeting interesting people, give them a call. A great community resource that continues to grow.
